If the pattern of the previous cycles is kept, the average price will gradually increase to 3x from the bottom until the end of 2024. Examples: 10K->30K, 15K->45K, 17.5->52.5K. And if there is a new ATH in 2025, it might be around only 2x from the last, i.e. 140K. This is what I think, but I might be awfully wrong in both directions, like sub 10K bottom and no new ATH in 2025, or the other extreme - a new ATH beyond 300K.
Based of the previous cycle, the increase from the bottom was 3K end of 2018 till 14K in june 2019, so almost x5 not x3. yes, but (14/3.1)X 17.6 would be 79.5, an ATH, while in 2019 we went to roughly 70% of prior ATH. 70% of 67566 is 47.3K, a very possible number that already figured multiple times in prior discussions. math and numbers and math and numbers and ... bleh!

I personally reinvest 1/3 of my long terms BTC profit at these levels :
- 20K$ (done) = 25%
- 15K$ = 25%
- 12.5K$ (then every 1K$ down from there till 6K's) = 7% each step
...at 5k down to 1k? sell kidney ? well it depends on whos kidney you sell. |

Yeah, The Doc said I was pretty lucky all the bones are lined up so they didn't have to pin them but I'm pretty sure thats because I got up and aligned them while leaning on the dude that pulled over. LOL Funny thing is the guy who finally stopped ended up being someone I played against all night. *Also they were giving me fentanol injections so I asked the doc if he was trying to OD me?  glad youre on the mend. and man that sounded pretty bad. i tend to only break one, maybe bones at at times when doing "hold my beer" types of things. ive since slowed down those moments, lucky for me. that fentanyl though. spent a couple dark years back in the day hooked on that, 100 microgram patches and 800 microgram lollipops. would not recommend. but sure felt grand at the time. quitting cold turkey, not so much. anyway keep up the healing bro. |

Best estimates I can find for IBD from Genesis to tip run about a month (see below). The point is to make it feasible. my internet sucks majorly bad and it would take months, many months, to dl from genesis. my inet is so bad and the full blockchain stored locally so important i have it backed up so many ways (raidz2, raid5, portables drives, internal drives i rotate etc, all stored in many places) it borders on ridiculous.
Saturating one’s downstream bandwidth (thus probably being unable to do anything else) for “many months” sounds totally infeasible for real-world use. Note that in addition to the question of time to sync, the satellite takes the load off of an Internet connection that may be metered/expensive, and that may be needed for other things! It doesn’t sound like “visiting the local library” to mooch hundreds of gigabytes of their bandwidth is much of an option here, either. In the past, I’ve run on hardware that takes weeks or a month to validate/index/reindex (CPU and IOPs bottlenecks). So... Your estimates of bandwidth are not very useful. The v2 satellite system uses special encoding to compress the blockchain transmission. This is reversible, so you wind up with the same data that you would get from the Internet. Conclusion
After I get the blockchain synchronized, I plan on setting this up so that my other Bitcoin nodes will continue receiving blockchain data from my satellite node over my local network during an internet outage. But because I'm strictly downloading from satellite signal, this will take roughly a month or longer to get a full sync. That is why I think this is a good stopping point for this guide and I will follow up with shorter guides on useful things you can do with a satellite-connected receiving node.

I observe that it is a way to broadcast a message to a completely untraceable recipient. To send the message, your Internet connection could still be traced if Tor is broken, or whatever; but there are various specialized scenarios where message recipient anonymity is the top priority. Compare dead-drops, or old-fashioned alt.anonymous.messages.

I thought that blockstream did something for bitcoiners. shoulda clarified. blockstream would suffice for my bitcoin needs and thats it. but i need starlink speeds to be able to download the bitcointalk forum now with JJG and DW sized post increasing as my regular crappy slow internet may not suffice soon. |

A hype project that has helped nobody and makes no sense.
Have you ever lived in a situation where downloading the entire Bitcoin blockchain from the Internet, and keeping up with blocks, would be cost-prohibitive in terms of bandwidth? It is not a rare situation. Not a corner case. I think that the worldwide majority of people are probably in that situation. Satellite TV dishes are ubiquitous. Surprising and disturbing, but true. They can be repurposed for this, with a few parts that fit into a poverty-level budget. Now, at least, you can have the BYOB security of consensus-validating the blockchain yourself. To make transactions, use your mobile data connection that has kbps speed, and costs money you can’t afford billed by the kilobyte. Although it is not ideal from a decentralization viewpoint, it gets your foot in the door. Still makes no sense? Coinbase is one of the worst of evil exchanges.
edit: TRIGGER WARNING yup i hate coinbase because of their history and actions. but guess which exchange i tell starting btc noobs who arent very computer literate and even less cyber security conscious? yup. coinbase. for the simple reason that they are legit from a usa law point of view. it offers yubikey security. accounts can be transferred to surviving spouse or executor if the account holder dies. ok thats it, haters may now proceed to list the myriad ways They Suck. fine by me as i might be some that im not aware of yet and ive been with them since 2013. now if a btc noob is slightly better informed i tell them gemnini. please dont forget here in the usa (land of the free) we have limited choice in a lot of things. full disclosure: coinbase is a backup exchange for me. |
