Thats full price at $5/GH.... I'll pass thanks.

Hey. Thanks for the guides, great work.

Wondering if it is possible to remotely access SP-10 dashboard easily? If not, do you know of a solution to set this up for SP-10 and other miners that is secure? Thank you.

The generic solution is a $150 windows laptop with teamviewer, or a Pi with an external facing address. I'd go with the laptop anyway.

5470  Economy / Auctions / Advertise in Dogie's Comprehensive Guides [Round 2] on: July 04, 2014, 08:32:43 PM
What is being auctioned? Why?
Non intrusive ad space in my setup guides is being publicly auctioned. This has prior approval from Theymos.

I work for the community full time and am not funded by the community or any company. Donations have not exceeded $50 in total this year and so I have to find a way to keep the guides sustainable and FREE for the average consumer. Selling ad space is one such trial.

Ad Format
  • Leaderboard style (728x90 pixels)
  • Static images (jpg, jpeg, gif, png)
  • Non annoying colors
  • Ads may not misrepresent, lie, be inappropriate, be (or link to) NSFW content.
  • I reserve the right to reject ads for other reasons or remove ads even after they have been accepted.

  • There are 3 ad slots for sale. One slot will be placed after sections 2, 4 and 6 in all the guides listed at the bottom of the post. Shorter guides may not have a slot 6.
  • I will randomise which ad is placed in which slot.
  • The ads last at least 7 days starting from when they are put up.
  • Traffic is expected to be 12,500 impressions per slot over the period.
  • This traffic is exceptionally targeted to the hardware subforum, and more specifically to those who have either bought or are looking to buy miners.

Adblock
As images within text, these ads are not affected by ad block by image. I will use a goo.gl address to prevent url blocking.

Auction Format

- Auction will run for approximately 7 days, end time will not be strictly enforced.
- Post your bids in this thread. Prices must be started in BTC per slot. You must state the max number of slots you want.
- The notation "2 @ 5" means 2 slots for 5 BTC each. Not 2 slots for 5 BTC total.
- The bidding starts at 0.10.
- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by 0.02.
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slots filled first.

I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. In particular, bids from people with less than 15 activity points are likely to be rejected. I recommend not getting into a bidding war with someone who has less than 15 activity points, as their bids might not be accepted, but your latest bids will still stand. If you need to know right away whether someone's bids will be accepted, PM me.

You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address. Otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. I will send you the payment information via forum PM from this account ("dogie", user ID 87869). You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful.

0a) What to Expect (top)
BTCGarden's AM V1 is their first ASICMiner generation 3 product. Chips are distributed across two mining boards, and an external controller is required. Units
shipped direct from BTCGarden come with a Raspberry Pi and associated cables.

Chips32x ASICMiner Gen3
Hashrate~310GH
Rated Voltage12V

0b) What You Need (top)
You will need a few accessories and a power supply to get started.

Click your flag to find everything you need to get started at Amazon!

1) Powering (top)
AM V1s do not come with a power supply, and you will need a typical computer PSU with 2xPCI-E 6 pin power connectors.  We also need to tell the PSU to
always be on, as there isn't a motherboard to do this. Cut a paper clip into a U and insert it into the green wire and either black wire to the side of the green
wire. Tape it up for safety. The power supply will now be controlled by its switch on the rear socket.

2) Cooling (top)
The AM V1 is self sufficient in cooling terms and utilises two 120mm JS14025HB12 fans to cool aluminum heatsinks on both the top and bottom of each board.
Noise levels are very reasonable and comparable to the AntMiner S1.

3) Case (top)
An open steel case is used as the frame, adding significant strength to the miner. The units are easily stackable and measure 390 x 190 x 145mm, while
weighing in at 4.2kg. The shipped weight is 5.2kg, and the dimensions of the box box are 425 x 255 x 220mm.

4) Configuration (top)
AM V1s require a Raspberry Pi as the controller.

Wiring:
  • Plug the SD card into the Raspberry Pi.
  • Plug the 26 pin connector onto the Raspberry Pi with the red lines facing towards the centre of the board.
  • Plug the other end of the cable onto the top, right hand 8 pin header when viewed from above with the fans facing away. The red lines should face right.
  • Plug the included 8 to 8 pin wire from the top, left hand header to the bottom, right hand header. Make sure the red lines faces to the right.
  • Plug in a network cable from the Pi to your router.
  • Plug in the PCI-E cables to the miner and the power cable to the Pi.

Software:
  • Power both on.
  • Using a browser, navigate to 192.168.1.123 - this goes to the AM V1's configuration page.
  • Navigate to the page "Cgminer". Enter your pool information in the below format. Click Save.
  • Navigate to the page "Network" and make sure both the gateway and dns are set to the IP of your router. If you are unsure of what this is, press your
windows key -> type "cmd" -> type "ipconfig" and look under "Default Gateway".
  • Navigate to the page "Cgminer Status" to check mining has started.

Thank you for this guide! It is the perfect weapon against dishonest companies.

I have been waiting for my 65nm hardware for a year and a half (I upgraded it to a Monarch and have been waiting 8 months for that now). Your guide is very accurate about that company. Do not buy from BFL!

yes but this site has lightning asic as an A.. and i will never get my products, this guide being correct is just a coincidence
You don't have an order with lightning asic so no, you won't receive any products from them.

0.132btc via UPS, but I don't have to charge VAT in the US so overall its:

0.233 + 0.132 = 0.365

We will get cases and heatsinks nearest few days.
Anyway, its running without case and heatsinks. Of course in test mode.

What is the magazine for?

Prove the date (that its not an old picture), like a newspaper. Its probably a recognisable one, although its clear that its a world cup issue.

5480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S2 Setup [HD] on: July 01, 2014, 04:51:13 PM
Just got an S2 today.  For some reason I can't get the miner to keep my pool settings after shutdown.
I update the pools and change the IP address no problem.  It runs on my pools and I can access it on the new IP address. But then if I do a reset or just shut it down and restart it all the changes are gone.  It's back to the factory settings.
I can't find anything in the manual that I'm doing wrong or not doing.  Any suggestions?
Replace the SD card and it will fix it. Just need a $5 4GB one from amazon

no need for the new SD card. See my post on the main thread. i had exactly the same condition. Solution: download the latest (6/19) tar file from Bitmain support on your laptop. While connected to the miner from the laptop, go to upgrade, search for the file, then flash. the "wheel" will be turning. wait...they say a minute, I waited five just in case because the 'wheel" never stops turning, disconnect the ethernet cable from the laptop back to router. power cycle the miner-and you are good to go to set up the new ip address, settings, etc.

Its a symptom of something larger though, he can flash to his hearts content but theres no point when there's a $5 fix.
