5581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Thanksgiving a la Kālua in Satoshi Forest (seeking a tad support) on: November 10, 2013, 05:49:58 PM
Upon further review, thanks to the generosity of three bitcoiners, requesting a $20 USD (originally $50 USD) sponsorship package consisting of sign placement, et al. is no longer needed.

But, I really desire to place at least 10 signs of bitcoin-accepting entities in Satoshi Forest during the Thanksgiving feast to feed the local homeless. I only need 9 more to accomplish said task.

Here's the new offer: Donate whatever you want, a US cent or above, and a sign will be made depicting your company's name with a QR-Code linking to your site. I will then put the name of your company and how much you've donated to Post #2 of this thread showcasing your donation. The top three sponsorship donors will be mentioned in an upcoming press release, provided permission is first given to do such, of which a URL will be linked to your website.

Where else can you get coverage like that for at least only $.01 USD (one penny)? Nobody will (or should) judge you for being frugal, and I'll be more than happy to provide my time and material to accomplish said tasks regardless of the donated amount. I'll gladly do it for a penny, but it won't be done for free.

Another option for any Bitcoin related business is to donate only $1.25 USD via Bitcoin via this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=1.40, then let me know you've done such, and I'll gladly construct a sign due to your generousity.

As Charles Darwin said,

"ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge"

Total confidence, total ignorance in one human being!!

hahah! Many people dont realise that!
I wonder how much time has collectively been spent on this site?
Tongue

Next thing you'll want is an APP for that, then an APP that shows how long you'll been looking at the APP that ticks off the total time people were logged into BT. Whoever builds it, make sure it has the seconds/minutes/hours/days/weeks/months/years option, along with metric time for the rest of the world.  Wink

OP, can you add the poll option - "No, my life is fine. I don't need to do drugs to escape reality of my life."

5585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fun with Google on: November 10, 2013, 07:23:08 AM
Okay, now this is too weird. I was ready to call it a night, but headed over to YouTube to watch a couple quick videos, and look what Google suggested to me for my viewing pleasure: 158,962,555,217,826,360,000 - Numberphile. Sometimes, I feel like I'm being followed.

With that, night, all. Hope I don't dream about bears...again.  Tongue
5586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Day!!!!!!!!!! on: November 10, 2013, 07:10:01 AM
Like, compare this to "VEDA" or "Vlog Every Day in April" which is a thing people do in April now, where they just vlog about nothing all month.

Imagine if even just 2 people "VEDA"d about Bitcoin. That's 60 new Bitcoin videos.

And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people "VEDA"d about Bitcoin
Singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. They may think it's an
Organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day,I said
Fifty people a day "VEDA"d about Bitcoin and singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and
Walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.

And that's what it is, the Bitcoin Movement, and
All you got to do to join is start using it.

20,121 views. I wonder how many got pass the trading of apples for oranges to the mangos.

This was my thought exactly haha.

I wonder how this guy feels now..anyone know where to find him?

I'm curious about his "computer programming" as well.  Grin

Wait, what, computer programming? I thought he was a farmer, and I opted not to watch the rest of video to see how he sells his produce for only bitcoins.  Wink
5588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fun with Google on: November 10, 2013, 06:55:31 AM
Uhhh how did they get the seconds of the earth?

6000*365*24*60*60

oh wait, that's some other group's estimate

Related, my oldest sister attends a church that tells its sheeples that the Earth is 10,000 years old.
5589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who decides to break up BTC into smaller pieces? on: November 10, 2013, 06:50:45 AM
I'm starting to favor µBTC just because it sounds nicer to have millions of a something than thousands of a something.

I saw a video of a bald-headed guy today declaring that there's a hundred thousand gazillion bitcoins, an infinite number. Maybe I should have paid attention that day in class when my teacher taught such a thing instead of working on my history homework, incorrectly assuming he was covering a chapter I read three months prior.

Quick aside, related to above. One night, at around 11PM, my mother asked why I was still doing my homework. I told her it wasn't homework and that I was several chapters ahead. She immediately sent me to bed, but unbeknown to her, I was still doing equations in my head up to falling asleep. Damn, I miss school!

Luckily, there weren't any classes on how to become TMIBTCITW, otherwise I would have had competition.

Now, that would be one helluva APP! The number climbs with each passing second. And when somebody ask what time is it, they're shown the APP tickin' away... with a Timex ad underneath it.

Maybe ask Smoothie?

Should I ask him to change his avatar at the same time?

Apologies for the bump, but any personal input is appreciated. I am able to glean most of what I need from the web, but sometimes firsthand knowledge in cases like these could prove more valuable.

I love Houston! I used to live there for two years prior to moving to Vegas the first time. Speaking of westerns, that's where I met James Drury (The Virginian). He used to hang out at Denny's in Katy with other gents of his ilk.
5595  Bitcoin / Meetups / FIrst Annual Thanksgiving at Satoshi Forest in Pensacola, FL (Pilgrim Kālua) on: November 10, 2013, 05:30:04 AM
More details available at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=329396.0

The venue will be held at 1999 Massachusetts Ave, Pensacola, FL, formally known as Satoshi Forest operated by Jason King of Sean's Outpost, coordinated by yours truly, TMIBTCITW.

This years theme will be Pilgrim Kālua.

Thanksgiving falls on Nov. 28, 2013, this year.

The sole purpose of Thanksgiving in Satoshi Forest is to serve up the best Thanksgiving dinner in the world to be served to the local homeless people. All they'll have to do is attend. Same true for any Bitcoiner desiring to do something different on Thanksgiving. We're hoping to have some sort of live entertainment, games normally played during a camp outing, among other things not yet thunk, but I'm working on it. And it's all free!

Feel free to organize a Satoshi Square right there in Satoshi Forest, and afterward we can play pin the tail on the fed or spot the donkey (maybe I have that backwards  Smiley) Either way, it's going to be loads of fun with, or without you.

If it rains...wait for it...we're all going to get wet.

OMG! There's 100,000 gazillion bitcoins. At least it's a nice round number like the number of sand grains in the world is according to Google. How can this guy say such a thing?

This is not a diss, bud, but something about your site affects my 53 year old eyes. Also, when I click on a link on the site, there's a slight pause then what seems like a flash just prior to the page being fully generated. Maybe it's just me, otherwise good luck your endeavor.

grains of sand on earth
700,500,000,000,000,000,000

atoms in the human body
7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

how many seconds has the earth existed
435,355,989,674,234,985,345,394,783,892,394,837,983,847,293,957

number of possible bitcoin addresses
1,461,501,637,330,902,918,203,684,832,716,283,019,655,932,542,976

herb, or is it Herb, why are the first two numbers rounded, and the latter two exact? Is Google going broke and no longer able to support the manpower to count grains of sands resorting to guessing? I wonder if they considered all the sand at the bottom of the oceans. And what about sand mixed in with dirt--multi-racial sand (bet you didn't see that coming)?

One more thing: Herb, meet Dank. <not implying anything, and only penned for added humor>
5599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Day!!!!!!!!!! on: November 10, 2013, 03:19:58 AM
Over 400 people invited!!!!!!

How are all these people getting invited? Are they actually contacting you first? I'm a tad confused, bud.
5600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Thanksgiving a la Kālua in Satoshi Forest (seeking a tad support) on: November 10, 2013, 03:15:15 AM
I just received permission from justusranvier to attach his name to the 1 BTC donation, and thanked him so kindly for his generosity. He reminded me that he was one of the two tagalongs that went to lunch with Jason, Rassah and I in Atlanta. They all could have had anything they wanted on the menu, but all opted for a traditional burger or some other sandwich, whereas I had the steak and shrimp. I'm such a pig!

What I only desire now is 9 more sponsors at $20 each so that there's some signage in the woods for any media (hopefully) to see. If not, pics and videos by fellow bitcoiners will give plenty of coverage for the cause, making sure many end up on Sean's Outpost's website.

I'm in the process of penning a press release, readied in about a couple days, and would love to incorporate some Bitcoin entities acting as sponsors into the copy, so for $20 you could get a link/juice that way as well.

I have another thread going in Off-topic seeking advice on Kālua if anybody can lend some.
