561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do I need to pay Tax on my Crypto Gambling Winnings? A guide on: May 08, 2021, 05:33:45 PM
This might depend on the country but I don't think we get a tax credit for losing in a casino. Gambling is different from investing. If we sell assets with a loss than we can make this loss counted against future winnings and don't have to pay taxes. But we need to show statements that we actually bought and sold at lower prices for us.

I think profits are only taxable once we convert them back into fiat. So as long as we just hold doge coin or another coin we don't need to pay taxes. This is because we don't gain any fiat money until we sell the coins again to pay the tax balance.

It's true that we may keep our gambling money in crypto if we don't want to be taxed, but one day whenever we go for fiat withdrawal, we'll definitely be taxed. And keeping crypto is also risky because as it's very high currently and has the chances to drop big, the possibility of losing your wins on the losses that the coin (you hold) sees is higher. Keeping track of every win or loss is almost impossible for a gambler, but yeah, they can make a spreadsheet and keep track of each session they play so to know what profits or losses were made during that session.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This happened many months ago but still wanted to share. on: May 08, 2021, 05:20:22 PM
I partially agree with you... why the hell he was able to place bets in the first place? Like this, the site let him play, and when he finished they reminded him about TOS! What would happen if he lost? They would say the same, terms violations, and they would return him his initial deposit!?

Such sites have bad intentions of trapping their customers once they start winning and want to withdraw those wins, but won't ever return their deposits if they lose saying that it was all their loss, so the profits are on the sites and losses are on customers.

Quote
Real gamblers don't read TOS! Just a joke or not, I don't know...but I am not reading TOS, I check basics and for all confusions, I ask support, and few times they gave me wrong answers! In my humble opinion, it's not nice to allow something, and when it happens you pull out some TOS and little letters and you blame customers... that sounds like the problems I have with banks! Smiley

There's nothing like a comparable gambler and can't be, all gamblers are the same but they must try to give the site's ToS a read before playing there just to keep their back safe.
563  Economy / Gambling / Re: Be Aware Phishing Roobet.com on: May 08, 2021, 04:49:25 PM
Well it is true that anything to visit a site like its the better way is to type the URL directly than doing a search on google. I think this is dangerous and will get a lot of trapped and it never hurts to bookmark and type directly in appeal to an unclear tick.

I just tried to do another search on google about Roobet there are so many ads above so if you don't know you will be stuck too.

--snip--

That is right as search engines have become a way for scammers to get their sites indexed and then they become able to advertise it there and so, innocent gamblers get trapped due to the same. @OP, really very nice catch. But I believe that we gamblers too need to watch out the URL carefully that we visit before even thinking of creating an account and/or depositing there to play. Because it's not just a matter of losing money but your credentials too as there are so many gamblers who use almost the same credentials so to easily have them remembered for all sites.
564  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So, gate.io needs KYC from me before allowing withdrawals? on: May 08, 2021, 04:15:20 PM
I'm not from the US and the source of my funds was trading at pancakeswap, so I don't think I was involved in any money laundering or fraud activities, am I?  Huh

I think you're just caught up in their algorithm that monitors all accounts - and it's a well-known fact that crypto exchanges are increasingly entering automatic surveillance systems that of course work more efficiently than humans, but also make a lot more mistakes. Unfortunately, the only way to get your funds is to accept the rules of the game.

The problem isn't about the funds to be withdrawn TBH, but it's about the fact that even after full 24 hours of me submitting everything they asked, they've done almost nothing since then and when it's about crypto, they can't give me an excuse of "working days" because crypto works 24/7.
565  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So, gate.io needs KYC from me before allowing withdrawals? on: May 08, 2021, 03:07:52 PM
Does gate.io need its users to mandatorily do the KYC before going for the withdrawals?

Especially if you're from the US, afaik in general KYC is pretty much mandatory. It's just that asking for the KYC at the point of withdrawal is definitely not the best way of doing it (in an ethical perspective).

Exactly, I was asked to go through their KYC procedure just after I requested my first ever withdrawal at their exchange. Lol I never faced such shitty behavior even at ftx or probit exchange.  Undecided

566  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 62%, alts lagging behind on: May 07, 2021, 09:43:27 PM
Does anyone here think btc dominance will get back to over say just 65%?  I don't even think so at this point anymore with all these altcoins.

As you said, there are so, so many new coins and token launches by new projects taking place every single day which is adding extra marketcap at the alts' end whenever they get started being tracked by services like coinmarketcap and coingecko, which is why BTC's dominance is looking weaker than ever. I don't think we'll get above even 50% if BTC remains under $60k, and it's quite dangerous for the price of BTC. There's a very strong support for BTC dominance near 38 points area, if it reaches and tests that area, I believe we might see a pump in BTC's price.
567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are there so many negative posts about BTC lately? on: May 07, 2021, 09:31:14 PM
@OP, I think the game's not over for dogecoin yet and people are still riding it. But I assure you that once it's all done from the buyers' end and they start short selling, this meme coin won't even be seen in top 25 coins according to marketcap. And taking over BTC? It's a dream for Doge supporters and it'll always be, dogecoin won't touch even half of BTC's total marketcap. Elon is just playing with the minds of peeps and once he starts taking his profits, the scenario will be an inevitable one.
568  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: primedice scam 2021 eposide 2 on: May 07, 2021, 09:23:59 PM
I am not sure I even believe a word of what the OP is saying at all, I took a look at all the topics he started and everything has to do with being scammed and primedice is a central part on each one of those threads.

So he either is incredibly unlucky and he is unable to learn his lesson out of all the times he was supposedly scammed or he is making up all of this and he is just trying to ruin the reputation of primedice, I do not know which ones is true but I have my suspicions it is the latter.

The fact is that people (like OP) have become ridiculous and will go any way to try to prove innocent people and their websites a scam. I mean, if they couldn't even log in to their email, what's the way that remains in their hands to prove themselves that it's their account? Both the sites give really good options to recover a lost password but if @OP's friend can't even manage to login to his email, then I believe that he must be punished and that's what happened with him as Primedice and Stake aren't websites like Satoshidice where you need to save your special URL or your funds gone. PD and Stake have been serving ultimate gambling experience that is commendable about them, so ask your friend to try their best and get their email's password found, so to login into it and then get an email with instructions from PD to restore his account.
569  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: your worst mistake on: May 07, 2021, 08:55:40 PM
Do remember to take your profits and enjoy them because if you won't, then the markets will eat your profits and leave you with nothing. I learnt this during the previous bull run and as you're currently entering the markets during a bull run, remember this that once you've made 2x, take out your capital at any cost and just trade with your profits and with every 2x that you make, take out 50% from the profits made and keep the rest to trade them as additional capital. It really helps and if the joy of spending those earnings is not experienced, what's the benefit of trading and making money? Wink
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Predict $20,000 for dogecoin in 5years time on: May 07, 2021, 08:37:32 PM
What made you think about a coin that's already minted in full and then, they broke their words by adding additional 5 billion dogecoins to be minted every year? What's so impressive about it? Even its network is not as secure as Bitcoin, and it won't ever be. Then why did you predict such a huge number? I mean yeah, anything can happen in crypto but this? Neh, it's next to impossible and won't happen ever even if Elon Musk sells his entire holdings of all his assets and tries to pump dogecoin to that level.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to Poker on: May 07, 2021, 07:57:59 PM
I don't think there may be an alternative to poker but you can try Indian Rummy which involves your skills as well as luck where you need to play yourself and make the other end lose. But it's like a PvP game and doesn't need a dealer (or maybe you can call the other person a dealer if he shuffles and splits up the cards.
572  Economy / Service Discussion / So, gate.io needs KYC from me before allowing withdrawals? on: May 07, 2021, 07:35:03 PM
I tried to withdraw some funds I sent there to trade some startup based coins and got some good profit. Now when I'm trying to withdraw my coins from there and even ready to pay their hefty fees they're charging on even the cheapest coins (5 trx, yes it's big for me compared to others who take just 1). Does gate.io need its users to mandatorily do the KYC before going for the withdrawals?
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do I need to pay Tax on my Crypto Gambling Winnings? A guide on: May 07, 2021, 07:17:42 PM
@OP, I didn't get a hold of a few things that I'd like to openly ask here:

What if a gambler cheats the tax system by saying that he lost more and his tax amount doesn't come in the slab provided so he won't pay anything?

What to do when the price of the crypto we play with (let's say dogecoin) rises over 500-1000% during that one year itself and you've also made more than 100x your bankroll by gambling? How will you deal with it?

What if a gambler decides to keep his crypto or just sell it and keep USDT with him or sell some stake and keep both, but doesn't disclose anything to their tax man? Because online casinos which are crypto based, hardly ask for SSN numbers even at the time of verification I guess. So how will these organisations be able to catch the gambler here?
574  Economy / Economics / Re: The change in buying and selling in society is the effect of the internet on: May 07, 2021, 06:47:41 PM
--snip--

Is the internet making people lazy or what do you think?

Let me not go too far with this and give you an awesome example nearby me. Here in India, we have Dalal Street.

There, the people used to deal with each other through signs (via their hands and fingers to determine how much they are buying or selling for which stock). Then came the online share trading platform, which increased a lot of convenience for those standing in huge crowd now able to do the same thing with a lot more advanced features from the comfort of their home. If internet wasn't there, how would that become possible? Just think.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You won today, but then you will lose often on: May 07, 2021, 06:32:47 PM
Most of the people cannot control greed and addiction. Thats why casinos and sportsbooks are making big in the world

But with control and a plan good and decent money can be made

Even with a better plan, I've not seen a single gambler making it big against a casino except only a few in number who either won through lotteries or by sheer luck. Without luck, even smartness won't work in casinos and the most oversmart gambler who thinks he's smart enough to beat the odds, gets beaten up by the house edge and loses to the casino in the long run. That's why, stopping at some point is very necessary so to enjoy the winnings because if a gambler continues to gamble, he'll do nothing but help out the casinos in taking away his money from him because of his greed.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is BNB is at it's peak price? on: May 06, 2021, 08:01:42 PM
New update for BNB, the price continues to be maintained but with a great optimistic vision, that is, now when looking at the volume, sales have dropped and purchases have increased, this gives recognition that it is likely to grow even more in price, when there are more purchases means that the bulls are in the market defending their positions:

--snip--

I believe that BTC needs to be watched out this week as its dominance fell down under 50 which is very critical and if it falls, it will surely pull every alt down. But if it ranges between 500-1000 points there, then there are very high chances of alts outperforming BTC. BNB is being accumulated every time it sees a dip and I believe that there's a dip every weekend, so let's just wait and see if it does come down to its support and then buy it.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feel Pressed Something while Gambling on: May 06, 2021, 07:49:09 PM
@OP, Nope, I never shit it my pants while gambling. But yeah, I've had some speedy heartbeats coming whenever I even think of gambling and when I'm on it, I feel like I'll just die any moment because my heart beats extremely fast and it awaits for the results of those games I play live like BlackJack, or a sportsbet.
578  Other / Archival / Re: Everyone is following the same strategy on: May 06, 2021, 07:03:00 PM
@OP, if you're talking about patterns, then yes they do occur every now and then but the fact is that, even those patterns can't guarantee you an assured (possible) rise/dump in the price of an asset that comes under the crypto category because crypto is full of surprises and you only see rise when there's a lot of FOMO due to some small traders as some whale tries to move the markets upwards. Same way it is for the downtrend when a whale starts selling, others too start panic selling the asset which actually moves it more downwards than it was expected to go if it'd only had that one whale seller's whole trade eaten up by small traders in parts.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos: Internal notifications, message inbox vs Email. on: May 01, 2021, 08:57:40 PM
Its just normal for casinos to emphasize their promotions and bonuses on where it can really be seen nor get the attention of a particular user which they might have the high chance
on hooking them up to play with that said promotion or perks which means its into their advantage since house do always wins. When it comes to checking mails then not all would really
be having this kind of behavior this is why its already been a standard into these on site notification or pop ups which are common but having an option would really be great.
It is indeed a matter of preference on someone who'se in play.

I'd much more like to have Push notifications available on gambling sites and I'm definitely fine with it because then, those notifications would simply show up through my Google Chrome or other browser's push notifications area and that'd never let me miss out on any single perks/promos that are meant to be carved specifically for me.
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? on: May 01, 2021, 08:28:52 PM
If Bitcoin hits such price levels, many early adopters will become millionaires. It could be tempting to either sell all of your Bitcoin or "hodl" it for the long term.

I guess there are already many millionaires from the early adopters (and maybe even billionaires if I'm not wrong).

What will you do if Bitcoin hits $1m in the future? Will you sell all of your Bitcoin for cash? Or will you go long in the hopes of Bitcoin reaching higher prices on the market? Will you donate your profits to a charity? Just curious to know. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

TBH, I don't even hold such a significant amount of BTC, so I think it's not my cup of tea to think about it now as I sold all my BTC (can't stick with it and IRL needs). But if I held them and the coins be with me, I'd definitely donate it to the real heroes who are working 24/7 to help their patients fight this pandemic.
