1221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I am curious about people's opinion of DeFi projects and coins on: September 08, 2020, 10:43:28 PM
Decentralized finance is as good as dark coins like XMR and Dash, but those dark coins have been holding very tight in a specific range. I can understand that in order to disrupt the so-called traditional financing systems, this DeFi niche needs to take a strong spike, not just in terms of price alone but delivering their promises through their projects. How can a project that was abandoned by its dev still be in the game and still 2x from its all time low? Maybe because investors have faith in the new dev who took over the project. What I'll be doing now, is just wait and watch how this "helping hand" theory plays out in DeFi. I'm also quite surprised to see some projects which were named meme projects that popped up after YFI was a success. I wonder how people even took that to over 3 BTC a coin when their devs clearly said that they didn't make this token with a purpose to give it a value as it's a valueless token.
1222  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold Price Prediction & its impact on cryptocurrencies on: September 08, 2020, 09:35:55 PM
Tbh, anything that gets too much higher in demand due to the fact that it's being seen as a safe haven asset to invest into, but has a very limited supply to serve against that demand, then the value of that thing will definitely rise. Say for example, think that you and me are the very first people who took birth on the earth. We learnt values. You've got food because you're, let's say, a farmer and I've got clothes as I'm (let's assume) a tailor. You live at a place where there's too much winter but you have some reserved food for yourself that can save you from that winter (but not forever). On the other hand, I live in an area where everything remains too hot (summer tbh) and I can't manage any cold food that could cool down my stomach but you have it. What will we do? Trade. You trade your food for the clothes I have and I'll give you clothes for your food. But you have the power here as you can ask for more because you've got something that needs to be consumed daily while a pair of clothes are enough for you to survive, but you'll still take more because either your greed or need will make you do that and I'll even give more clothes to you because I know that food is all I need to survive (we can't eat clothes eh!). But TBVH, I don't think Gold can ever reach $10k (even Jeff Bezos will be worth $1 trillion before Gold reaches $5k).
1223  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do we have to archive only our own pages or everything we see ? on: September 08, 2020, 08:59:52 PM
This is really a cool info. I never thought of a deleted post or archived post having the possibility of being referenced. Naturally, I had the idea of archived posts to be posts that have been discussed to exhaustion and a need to clear the board hence, when done, it's gone and that's it.
Now I know it could be referenced through archiving is really cool but, when you've been scammed, of what use will it be again...?
I guess it all ends within the forum as per it's validity, I think and stands to be corrected if not.

Loyce did a great job by making all those deleted posts available on their site due to this archive feature. See, the major reason I see that we need an archive (or I'd say a shadow) of something is because sometimes, moderators delete some posts which are reported by us but those threads do possess some valuable information by exceptional users by for eg.; nullius, LoyceV, actmyname, and other major users who are technically sound. I believe those informative posts need archives so to be able to find them later anywhere as information is something that needs to be stored and it's just not that archives are only for scams and other things but yeah, reference is the key word. Wink
1224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish! on: September 08, 2020, 08:44:26 PM
I see 8700 coming because many technicals and fundamentals are showing that either a wick or slow way downturn is coming for BTC. This is not a fortune-telling tale nor did I hear from any whale, but I saw some facts and consider this to be the very possible scenario in the upcoming days (I hope I may be wrong but if not, many longs are going to get liquidated). Those who think 10k has a support, please clearly check that level and see how easily it gets broken down every single time it's reached after BTC tries to recover.
1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: History will be repeating itself, invest wisely. on: September 08, 2020, 08:25:49 PM
I was like "Oh Bam Bam, this DeFi shit is gonna get fucked right here while BTC is falling" and you won't believe, YFI was down around 50% while the dump game was going on when Bithumb raid news came into the markets. And you're wrong here, sushi didn't do a 50% loss but reached 1/9th from its ATH of 9700 (I don't consider 0.00388 BTC to be its ATH as that was just the start and it began with too many dumps which brought the price near 10k sats, and later to 1100 sats when BTC dump started).
1226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too much HODLing stealing opportunities? on: September 08, 2020, 07:49:07 PM
@Everyone,
Please don't get offended by my question here as it's not for the so-called ^crypto enthusiasts^ but those who missed an opportunity - traders like us. We all give advice to just "hodl, hodl and hodl", and yes, many of you say that I'm not "them" and so can't decide what they have in their minds. It's true in some sense, but even if I'd be them, either way I'd sell and wait for the right opportunity to buy back and please don't give me silly arguments like they never knew that 15k was peak and 3k could be bottom. Don't tell me that any of them isn't aware of the volatility of BTC and that they couldn't have taken any advantages. We were badly trying hard to break $10k when it was being said that BTC couldn't be worth it, but we still broke it and it was not just 10k then but a bang towards 20k. I can understand that they've had a lot of things in mind, but don't forget that this is the only BTC that was worth $30 and crashed down again to $5 before spiking up and reaching here. I'm just talking about those low-value hodlers who could have multiplied their BTC if they'd have shown some guts. Smiley
1227  Economy / Trading Discussion / Too much HODLing stealing opportunities? on: September 07, 2020, 10:59:56 PM
For noobs, HODLing is a term used for "holding" your assets (here: Bitcoins) for a very long time. But, isn't it true that those who bought it at $500 once should have sold it at $20k peak, and if not, why didn't they sell at $15k? BTC didn't crash all at once and they had the opportunity to sell and wait for another opportunity. A $15k per BTC against a $500 BTC - means a 30x return itself. And BTC crashed to $3k, if not $3k, then these hodlers would have bought back at $6k which is even less than half of $15k as they would also have added a lot more liquidity to the markets with too much money on the table. Isn't it true that too long a hodl can stop you from taking great opportunities while sitting dumb and waiting for a specific target?
1228  Economy / Speculation / Re: sell now or you WILL regret it on: September 07, 2020, 10:06:14 PM
Price had touched 5 digit below price but it do bounce back to go in 10k level. As far as i remember it did plunge on 9945 and now we are currently playing on 10,150 - 10200.

Least was 9825 and today it was 9875 so if we take a break even point of these two which will be 9850, it looks crucial to me and if this breaks down, the double bottom pattern will fade and this will go below 9k and probably reach 8700 in order to create a new lower low for this week/month.

Quote
I have some feeling that we are already moving sideways this time or it would take a while for having some another great leap or breaking off some resistances specially on 11k and 12k.

This might happen on Q4 of 2020 or Q1 in 2021. No one really knows on whats next.

I saw a chart today by someone and it truly amazed me. The way that person defined the chart was so exceptional that I couldn't resist myself from believing him that BTC is yet to get down more before it gets above $12k again. He showed me the CME gap and told me that this gap needs to be filled for which BTC should crack the 9650 level down.
1229  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: September 07, 2020, 09:47:33 PM
I believe that covid-19 will remain forever as it's a disease and diseases come and go, but they remain in the environment and can any time affect anybody. All we have now is the vaccine and that's what wasn't there due to which everyone suffered. I believe we and sanitization need to go hand-in-hand in order to let ourselves remain safe and keep our families safe as well, but the fact is we need to live with this now. About trying to develop opportunities, I believe you should do something that involves too many people (get an idea about it), plan it and implement it. People will do anything nowadays that they're too bored sitting at their home. This will not only help you, but others too who are willing to do some work.
1230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who has the eye that looks into the future? on: September 07, 2020, 09:34:47 PM
This mentality had already been there since past decade when BTC began its journey, and it is a fact that traditional currencies have become rusty enough that they are no more likely to be used up to that extent if people tend to go completely digital on the topic of making and receiving payments and after this pandemic took place, it's a golden opportunity for crypto to shine hard. But this is not that easy as we think and will probably take a decade or more because we don't accept changes quickly because our Governments intervene, and they are old minds.
1231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HELP] Help me translate my topics on: September 07, 2020, 08:50:16 PM
I'm interested in working with your project (no merits expected) and translate your stuff in Hindi if you're looking for an Indian language. I can't show you any portfolio here as I never translated any threads or whitepapers here, but I'm a part-time translator for multi-national companies working abroad. If given a chance, I assure you that you'll be happy with the results and interest of people in your topics. If possible, please ping me over telegram.
1232  Economy / Speculation / Re: sell now or you WILL regret it on: September 07, 2020, 08:39:06 PM
Good thing:
BTC closed its weekly above $10k.
Traders are still optimistic that bulls are in control and can keep the price under control as well.

Bad thing:
BTC has broken down an important support and is below the key level of $11500 which has once again put BTC under the risk of crashing down under $9500, $8700 and last, but not the least, $7800.

The pressure is too much by the shorts and we can only expect some magic to happen in order for the bulls to liquidate the shorts, but there's too much FUD in the markets about the recent raid that happened at Bithumb.
1233  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Win any BlackJack Hand | Strategy Calculator on: September 07, 2020, 08:29:23 PM
Check this out guys Wink

Lolz, I just can't believe you didn't stop even after getting so many pessimism gathered over here. Well, waiting for my comment then?  Grin
Blackjack huh? I've had been playing its demo version (play mode as we call it) at many sites and I can assure you that while following your calculator even in my demo sessions, I lost more than winning any profits because eventually, your calculator failed against the house edge as we don't know when a losing streak may come and dealer manages to get 20-21 for more than 8-10 times (yes, I've seen it and was shocked). 5 of them were Blackjack itself and I was so clever I didn't follow it with real money (I don't have any to play with, yet lol Cheesy). If you are too certain about your calculator, why not make a video without edits and share it with us while you follow the calculator and play with real money on a (forum's) legendary member's choice of a reputed casino website?
1234  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: September 07, 2020, 05:35:34 PM
Hello.
I want to interview you. I hope for your consent.

--snip--

Please send me the answers, I will publish it or better post the answers yourself, I will add the link in 1 post.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5262967

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

It was back in 2010 when my brother was offered 10k BTC for just $0.1 per coin (INR 4.7 per coin totalling it to 47k INR for 10k BTC as $1 was worth Rs.47 at that time). Our dad refused to buy it as he thought this is some scam, some sort of catchy penny stock sort of thing that will die some day, and he even suggested us to stay away from this and my brother gave up. I, however, stayed calm and kept looking for more information about BTC and the technology behind it. I was amazed how quickly it was gaining a lot of attraction at that time with its price increasing (and even crashing) like crazy. I learned, and learned more till that drastic move came in BTC when it reached $1k and that was the time I decided to start trading it. That was the time I started taking interest specifically in BTC.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

Ah, as I said before, when the value of BTC spiked above $1k for the first time in 2013, I asked my dad if I could use my salary savings and buy BTC (yes, I was a teenager back then with some savings made through my jobs I did before). He said okay, but if you lose anything in this, I won't be paying you. It was my 1 year savings that I went all in with, around $500. I didn't buy 1 whole BTC but half of it. The reason why I bought it, was to trade Auroracoin which was doing great, but my bad the team didn't complete their airdrop as expected and I lost my savings due to the trade going under immense loss. A noob trade though.

3. How did you get on the forum?

I was learning about BTC slowly, but was getting mad with some improper information and half knowledge, and I was a social beast when Yahoo messenger took place, so met a lot of people online. Due to this feature and the fact that together we succeed, i tried finding a social place where I can get all the answers to my questions, even the most stupid questions. So, in late 2013 when BTC caught my eye again, Bitcointalk came into my eyes as well and I joined it.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

My view on this is very different than others, but it's true.
FUD (Fear, uncertainty and doubts) is the main reason behind the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies or anything that has fear attached to it. FUD of losing and FOMO are two things that stop a normal person (in other words, layman) to believe in the future of crypto.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

Well, good for a gambler, bad for gambling addicts.
Actually, these projects are the backbone of forum because you can't deny the fact that there's a gambler in each of us and we love to earn BTC through these projects, play with them on their websites and whether win or lose, we enjoy gambling unlike others who lose what they can't afford to lose. They are the ones who would feel harmed with this type of advertising.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

Experience is the best friend of an investor that helps him/her understand how to go with the trend, follow it and make some winning trades/investments. IMHO, no special education can beat experience of a person.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

Merit system is something needed from the very beginning of the forum, many users would have never reached Legendary rank (including me to be very honest Wink). Seriously, it's just like a token of appreciation, a "like" that gives a motivation to us to work more for the community and contribute in a much better way as expectations are bound around us when we start making mature comments. Signature campaigns are the life of this forum TBVH, those who don't like signatures also have the option to stop seeing them by disabling it through the look and layout preferences of the forum. It's a perk for everyone who actually uses their skills and help the community in any way needed, and by the way, I loved a comment from someone who said that the forum would be boring if there were no colors, signatures are those extra colors which make the environment look festive on the forum.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

Many, seriously many forum topics are extremely helpful and I won't be categorizing anybody due to the fact that everyone is best in some genre, so hats off to every user of this forum (except scammers and spammers). I personally like SteamTyme, LoyceV, the whole Chipmixer team (hehe), DireWolfM14, and most importantly, DarkStar, these users are my personal favorite, but that doesn't mean I don't follow others. I've seen many members who truly dedicate themselves and do whatever it takes to get into the depth and help others and contribute at their very best.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

Quick moderation - I'm a bit unsatisfied with the moderation and that's because there are least number of moderators against total active users.

Implementation of bots - If they can't hire moderators, I believe some bots should be implemented that, once a post gets reported, these bots should have the ability to determine spam based on some mentioned keywords by a few known spambusters.

Extra security - Add 2FA to the forum's sign in page so to let us increase our account's security a bit more.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

I trade on exchanges because I highly fear of the fact that if the tokens are either dumped or just not given by the team on time or any time ever and team runs away (scams), I'd lose everything.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

My biggest profit was in 2018 when all the alts and BTC were doing great, touching sky-high ATHs and we had some Pundi X. But my brother's greed stopped us from selling it on time and the market crashed. He sold it for half the profits we were in, still went ahead and bought MFT and lost everything. That was the biggest loss followed by a biggest profit.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

A story that might end soon if the pump-and-dump scene isn't teared apart from it. Otherwise, it's definitely something I'm loving to learn a lot about.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

It can't be a precaution for me, but a vital necessity because I love my privacy too much that even a few of my friends don't know what's my username on Bitcointalk.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

TBH, in all these years, I didn't read any book based on cryptocurrencies because this forum had been enough for all the information needed. What I've read till date - Satoshi's white paper. Wink

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

BZRX, ZRX, BTC.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

Prediction hmm... I guess I can't really predict this so accurately but to what I see, BTC seems to remain under $14k at the end of 2020. Now, don't ask me why.  Tongue

15. P.S. (Optional)

Let us spread love everywhere, we all need it a lot during this pandemic situation.
I know even I use some shitty slangs somewhere in my comments, but that's due to the fact that we're humans and we can become angry on some topics. I'll try to be calm from now onwards. Smiley And thanks a ton zasada for the opportunity to present myself in front of the forum.
1235  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Where can I buy a hardware wallet? on: September 06, 2020, 08:34:16 PM
Yeah, you're right, cold wallets is the best choice. It's necessary shouldn't be hardware wallet. It can be properly made paper wallet too which won't cost you anything. It's good choice when you're planning to HODL Bitcoins for long, but if you're planning to use your coins often, hardware wallet is more convenient thing.

If they've made up their mind for the safety of their funds and believe that they can't take the risk of going with a paper wallet for their funds' safety, I think they should buy something reliable and cheap and if not a ledger or trezor, maybe a cryptosteel wallet which stores paper wallet keys in itself can do the job as they are purely made of steel and can store many paper wallets all at once. One more thing, there are just too many alternatives available in the market that nobody can actually tell them what to do, and it's their decision in the end.

Meanwhile, check out https://coldti.com/
1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't fall for this YFI / YFII Telegram scam! on: September 01, 2020, 10:25:10 PM
I never rely on telegram for some information. We have too many scammers and clones there. I just go through market tracker, people who are greedy will get caught.

One major thing here, it's not like I'm following any telegram channels just to get any money out of there, but I come here to make people aware of possible scams. I saw that yearn.finance didn't do any pre-sale, public sale, exchange sale, etc. meaning no sale happened ever and this is why everyone got excited watching a $3 coin touching some extraordinarily unbelievable highs of above $33k which is around 10,000x (that's more than a million in %).
1237  Economy / Economics / Re: The number of jobless people has crossed one million in US - worrying sign? on: September 01, 2020, 10:16:42 PM
Why to worry? US has got FED, it has got the ability to print money any time they want (and they don't give a damn about their debts, seriously). /jk
Jokes apart, but it is actually a matter of concern how such a big number of people became jobless and what the government is doing to protect them dying from starvation if such time takes place? I guess Trump will only say - "Hey ladies and gentlemen! We didn't expect this to happen, but as it has happened, we need to stop acting like a kid and become bigger from heart and mind. I'd like to address everyone that whomsoever lost their jobs, it's their duty to find new jobs as we didn't get you fired, Corona did."
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COCK FIGHTING: COVID-19 health protocols violators, caught on: September 01, 2020, 09:55:16 PM
Not just their health, they also risked their money by doing this and I think that any person who's in complete senses would never gamble during these times when we already know the situation and also understand the value of money currently in our lives. Now, after paying $600 (if they manage it), do you believe that the caught people will be able to earn it back so easily and pursue their families? I don't think it's that easy. Even if they are interested in gambling, why not online gambling with a fixed capital that they could afford to lose (though no money is affordable enough to be lost during these tough times).
1239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't fall for this YFI / YFII Telegram scam! on: September 01, 2020, 09:11:53 PM
Actually what are going to the crypto markets? Sometime I see about DeFi prokect. Now I am seeing the YFI/YFII. It's few months I much away from the altcoins market checks. Now seeing and feeling maybe I am missing something around altcoins market. Lol. It’s actually result of increasing scammers . They will just use the recent bull run trend project to make fool people. Just ignore them to visit those channels like this.

The truth is (based on my belief), this DeFi isn't what it's being hyped hard for and trust me, it'll definitely fall extremely bad amongst which, the worst one will be YFI only as it has surpassed BTC but for me, BTC will always hold the highest value, be it in terms of morale or price. These channels have got a new way in the form of DeFi hype which is why everyone's trying to get their hands on some coins which were never sold (YFI sale never happened as committed by its dev).
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Not so far from getting BTC globally accepted! Pornhub now accepts BTC & LTC. ;) on: September 01, 2020, 08:59:57 PM

Pornhub now accepts Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC) as payment for its premium services. The company has been accepting Verge since 2018, later adding several other cryptocurrencies, but this is its first foray into the major leagues. Pornhub’s vice president Corey Price said in the press release:

“As a leader in adult content with over 130 million visitors per day, Pornhub is excited to now offer two widely-used and leading digital currencies for our users. Our team continues to pave the way for tech development, testing and implementing new technology for everyday consumers far ahead of the mainstream market.”

I believe this is what we need, perfect timing for BTC to skyrocket like a huuuge ..... You know what I mean  Grin
Anyways, jokes apart, but really, BTC has been holding its values since it was invented and I believe that's the reason why it's a successful story and has also created many many success stories for all the investors (come on, you, me and every guy here would have enjoyed f**king a girl with our BTC some night). (Ironically said that so to support the pornhub news hehe).
