561  Economy / Marketplace / Re: $1 Billion Dollar’s Worth of Cryptocurrency Stolen in 2018 on: January 23, 2019, 01:21:22 AM
You know the thing about thieves is that they always go for the shortest path to victory. Sure, you get those who plan heists and big hits, but when what we have here are valuable assets that are left lying around without security measures to match, it's just a matter of patience for them.

Most of those stolen crypto boil down to poor security and negligence. Leave your money at exchanges and that's what you get, literally gambling that your funds aren't stolen.

Mt Gox didn't seem to serve as a reminder it seems.
Many were not around when that happened so while they know of the story they did not learned the lessons that such an event could have taught them, this happens all the time and it is not only a problem with cryptocurrencies, just look at what countries are doing with their fiat when there have been several examples through history of other governments doing the same and not ending well.
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you see a future with one cryptocurrency or thousands? on: January 18, 2019, 02:22:28 AM
I think the market is oversaturated at the moment. People don't need these thousands of projects.

I agree that there are too many projects in the market but some people think that only bitcoin is going to remain and to me that is not correct we need several projects so even the bitcoin developers feel the pressure to improve bitcoin and they do it as fast as they can, because if only bitcoin remains the developers are not going to be in any kind of hurry to implement any improvement.
We wont any have choice but to look up for another project which would patch up Bitcoins lacking capability. 2-3 coins or projects is already enough on my own view.
Theres no need for it to be thousands just like on what we are seeing now. We might see many but majority are just copycats so it doesn't really need or necessary at all.
Due to easy money making with crypto this is why we are seeing these kind of numbers.
We do not need thousands of coins but just 2 or 3 coins is not enough either, we need as many ideas as possible being tested, many are going to fail but some of them will become successful, but it is not like as we have a choice many developers will try their luck with cryptocurrencies even if they know their abilities will never allow them to create a successful cryptocurrency.
563  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you making money in this bear market? on: January 18, 2019, 02:08:38 AM
My last trade is making me some money not much but it is better than to lose money, but I am really expecting to get one of those big trades but since the market is not really moving then I am really struggling to get that trade but the year is young and I am sure I will get plenty of opportunities to get that trade I am looking as long as I watch the markets.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Hodling Coins!!! on: January 18, 2019, 02:00:59 AM
since the market has not improved, I have not taken the steps you intended. I mean, trading is a high risk it's not easy to do that, I myself rather than having to trade especially not having better skills,  I switched to long-term investments even though it took a long time to make a profit. at least my funds are safe.
I like holding as a strategy since it is simple for everyone to understand and to execute but if you really want to get profits then it makes sense to become a trader and while there is no denying there are huge risks at the same time the rewards that you can get in this bear market are worth it so if you can use the time we have to improve your skills as a trader.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best crypto to buy now? on: January 18, 2019, 01:49:31 AM
Right now I'm focusing first on BTC prices, because once my expectations can become reality, then I can find potential coins for the long term, actually the coins I explained are also very good but don't forget other coins like XRP, NEO, ADA or ETH,
Right now concentrating in bitcoin does not seem like the best idea, it is very likely the price of bitcoin will remain as it is for a long time and if you want to get profits you will need to look for altcoins that have the capacity to outperform bitcoin, at least for some months, if you can invest during those times your bitcoin profits will grow tremendously.
566  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your key reasons of choosing a particular exchange for trading? on: January 18, 2019, 01:38:24 AM
A good exchange must have easy to use trading platform, a trusted name name and good chart for tech analysis will surely attract me trade with them.
Low liquidity is surely a no no for me, good liquidity gives opportunity to cut your position at competitive rate.
How a platform will be easy to use ? Because I am seeing almost all the exchanges are having similar functionality and there will be no big complexity across exchanges. If you get familiar with one exchange then I believe you can use any exchange without any difficulties. Ease in trading platform cannot be a criteria in my view.

But, having good support for trading environment like enabling traders to have lots of technical indicators and providing them versatile charting tool kind of things will be attractive to choose one particular exchange for trading in my view too. But currently most people are choosing exchanges based on trading volume and availability of one trading pair.
Yeah, once you know how to use an exchange then you can use them all since even if exchanges wanted to change the way they present information to their customers many will complain and they will need to go back to their previous layout, so to me the most important aspect is to know how they protect their customers in case a hack happens.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum prediction in 2018 on: January 17, 2019, 02:51:06 AM
My personal opinion, Ethereum will rise again and take the right place among the coin community. There is no doubt about that. Upcoming hard forks will also help this year.
While ethereum has suffered greatly during this bear market ethereum is still one of the coins at the top of the market, the only coin that surpassed it was ripple and even ripple is not that far away and we only need a slight correction in the price for ethereum to claim its position as the second best coin after bitcoin so I am not really worried about the long term prospects of ethereum.
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it fair to call it burst of bitcoin bubble. on: January 17, 2019, 02:33:12 AM
it is not a burst if later bitcoin rises again to 21k, but if bitcoin is stable or even will continue to decline, they will still call it a bitcoin bubble has burst, even if later bitcoin has risen again, there is a high probability that people will also be traumatized before they finally chose to play safe. That play safe will make bitcoin hard to rise more
I disagree, the prices at the end of the year of most cryptocurrencies clearly showed we were in a bubble and now that bubble has burst, it seems some have a problem calling things as they are, we were in a bubble accept it, but that does not mean the technology of bitcoin is not useful and cannot grow even more in the future, in fact I expect that to be the case but I hope the next time the price of bitcoin grows we do not see another bubble forming.
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your advice is needed on: January 17, 2019, 02:24:21 AM
I want to dedicate my life to cryptocurrency from now till five years time and see what I can learn and make from it in all way ,is it a good path to follow? Is it wise to leave my crap job behind and be fully into cryptocurrency? Anyone on here that already did the same? How is the experience??
Do not do it, you could become successful but you will be risking too much time and effort that at the end could get you nothing in return, it is better for you to keep your job and use your time outside your job to try to learn about cryptocurrencies and see if you can become successful in the market and only when it is clear that your success is assured then you can leave your job behind.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Warnings for token hodlers on: January 17, 2019, 02:15:06 AM
Warning like this are useless, remember to know and study well the token before you get it or buy it.
So you dont need FUD like this and you will not be in panic mode.
remember to study by yourself and never listen to others.
Many will never take the effort to do something like this, they are only interested in getting fast profits and to do it with the least amount of effort possible, if they were willing to put the effort to look for good coins to invest then we will not have as many coins in the market so we are bound to see many more people getting scammed and lamenting they did not investigated the token before investing in it.
571  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quit cryptocurrency trading its not for you! on: January 17, 2019, 02:05:56 AM
The reason why there has been a serious insurge of people into cryptocurrency mostly populated by newbies and novices is because someone somewhere told them they can make 100% to 500% in crypto within few days, lol but how many really had such experience.
The worst still is that some don't even think learning is necessary in the crypto market, and so they just invest their money in crypto and manage to know how to open and close a trade, and as soon as any candlestick chart turns red they dash their coins into the market in fear to cut off more loss and the cycle continues till nothing is left.

If you are doing this at the moment just quit crypto trading its not for you.
Trading cryptocurrencies is not for most people anyway, many want to believe they can be smarter than the market and think they can get profits that way but the ones that get profits out of the market dedicate their full time to it and they do everything they can to get an edge while most people cannot even make the smallest of efforts and watch a few youtube videos about the subject.
572  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bottom is in !! on: January 10, 2019, 03:51:07 AM
I wouldn't dare to overlook history, as pointed out by others in this thread, Bitcoin has dropped 90% and even 95% from ATH before recovery. It barely touched 3k this time around, so it was only 85% drop, so we shouldn't be surprised if it doesn't drop even further.

Not saying history is sure to repeat, but if we believe another ATH is coming, then we must believe the super low is also coming.

Too soon to call the bottom I believe.
The price does not really have too much room to keep going down, if the price keeps going down then we are going to reach prices before bitcoin even activated segwit and that doesn't seem possible to me because thanks to segwit bitcoin has improved considerably and it is a better coin because of it so it doesn't make a lot of sense to see prices lower than that.
That's the logic I arrive as well.
Price already at dip now based on my analysis so I am aggressive with buying the coins and tokens I like to keep.
No one can predict when is the bull run will start but with these price on the floor, it's hard to resist as we can easily make profit for short trade.
The distortions in the market could always make the price to go that low but if it does that price will not last long, this is why I am positive about the future of bitcoin since it is very likely the only direction the price can take from now on is up but this is not something that can be noticed that easily now but in 6 months that trajectory should be obvious.
573  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's the real price? on: January 10, 2019, 03:34:01 AM
Currently we have BTC at $ 3,730 on cryptocompare (https://www.cryptocompare.com/)
And BTC at $3,674 on preev (http://preev.com/)

Which one is the most reliable? An average of the prices?
Bitcoin is just like any other thing in the world, if you want to to buy a car you will realize there are several prices for the very same model and the same is true for bitcoin, different exchanges have different prices at any given time and all of those prices are real, if you are a trader make sure to buy from the exchange that has the lowest value so you can buy more bitcoin.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin investors more focus than altcoin investors? on: January 10, 2019, 02:21:44 AM
Hi, I'm a crypto developer doing dapps and blockchain-related software products.
I have found some interesting difference between bitcoin investors and altcoin investors.
It seems like bitcoin holders(like you guys) are more focus when discussing news and crypto-related issues.
Altcoin holders are more...how do I put this....more impatient and cannot focus on any subject for more than 3 days.
What do you think of this phenomenon?
The nature of altcoins is what caused this, bitcoin has been around for 10 years and it will surely be around for many more years, but when it comes to altcoins you do not know when the altcoins in which you have invested will disappear and so you need to always be on top of everything that is happening to that coin so you do not lose your money.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 in 4 Words – ICOs and Ethereum Are Dead on: January 10, 2019, 02:12:02 AM
Why do you think that ethereum is dead?
I don't really think so! Eth price has jumped from 80$ to 150$ within a week! Incredible result!
People say that because they want to scare people away from an investment that could be the best during the next month, even if you invest in ethereum now I do not see how you could lose money since after the hard fork the price of ethereum will go many times higher than its current price, but if they do not want to believe it let them and get the profits for yourself.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins to buy now for 2019? on: January 10, 2019, 01:56:51 AM
There are many coins you can buy which can give you profits in the future but many are not really ready to hold their coins when circumstances begin to go against them and in that case it is better to wait more time until the market is showing a more clear recover, this is probably something many will not want to do since this means months of not getting profits but it seems to be the best choice.
577  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Falling to mid 3K Will it go down more? on: January 09, 2019, 02:51:26 AM
I think the bearmarket isnt done yet as we are fishing for a bottom.

But we could see some up swings before we ultimately go towards 3200 and test the lower 3k range

Any thoughts?
The bear market is not over but the price tested those levels for some time and then it went up to the current price that is near 4000, while another drop in the price is possible a price below 3000 will not happen, it seems that slowly but bulls are coming back to the market which means that this year will be a good year for the market even if a bull run does not manifest itself.
578  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: THE NEXT MARKET MOVEMENT. UP OR DOWN? on: January 09, 2019, 02:35:22 AM
According historycal price in 2014- 2015 when the price of BTC also was crash to more than 85% , the price of Bitcoin will sideaway in 2019 and will be start bull run in the end of this year.  But in fundamental between 2015 and this year is much different which for this year fundamental of bitcoin and mass adoption crypto much better, so can be bull market is near.
The main difference between the crashes is that now many more people have adopted bitcoin, now there are millions of bitcoin users and even if the price has gone down it seems the adoption of bitcoin is still going up which means that the recovery will happen sooner than the last time there was a crash and that is a good thing since seeing the current state of the market is discouraging.
579  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there any chance to build a great marketplace in times of crisis? on: January 09, 2019, 02:10:17 AM
When the rate is continuously dropping down and investors all over the world keep selling their tokens in the hope of not finding them out of funds, it's getting harder and harder to believe crypto has bright future.

What are the possible outcomes regarding the crisis, esp cryptocurrencies-wise and why they were actually invented for, namely,  free exchange of funds with no borders and taxes, shops where you can pay without commissions and other things?  We all saw a surge in ICO projects, each of which promised a real use of the crypto. Where are they now?

What are your thoughts and opinions on the future of crypto? Looking forward to hearing from you guys.
This is just a small setback, I know that is difficult to not take this personally when many have supported cryptocurrencies for years and it does not seem likely that we are going to see a huge development during the next year but you must recognize that revolutions take time and something like bitcoin will not become the main currency of the world in just a few years, such development will take decades at best.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is the best time to buy Altcoin? on: January 09, 2019, 01:58:28 AM
According to me, now is the best time to buy Altcoins, since it is not known when the market will go up,and there is an assumption that the market may go up in late February or earlier, and now the drawdown of t ISO prices is 10 or more times, the best time I think is not found

Not all altcoins are going to be profitable during the next months so the best thing to do is to try to tell which ones will give the best profits, try to see if any coin is going to go through an interesting development or something like that since most of the time that means the coin in which you are investing will go up in price during the next weeks.
