0a) What to Expect (top)
The RockMiner R-Box replaces the Cube in the ASICMiner line up at just 10% of the power consumption. This is the first implementation of ASICMiner's
generation 3 40nm BE200 chip. Each unit ships in a custom made box with custom padding and is vacuum sealed from the factory. Cables included will
depend on your reseller.

Chips4x ASICMiner Gen3
Hashrate~32-37GH
Rated Voltage12V
Rated Current3.5-4A
Power.Consumption40-50W

0b) What You Need (top)
In addition to a host windows PC, you will need a few accessories and a mains power adapter.

Click your flag to find everything you need to get started at Amazon!

1) Powering (top)
R-Boxes do not come with a power supply, and you will need a 2.5mm 12V mains power adapter. Also pictured is the method when using a BlackArrow
power distribution board
. I can not recommend its use due to the pins being openly exposed on the back side. Live to ground can so easily be shorted with a
finger, posing both a safety and fire risk.

2) Cooling (top)
The R-Box is self sufficient in cooling terms and utilises custom aluminium finned heatsinks on the top and bottom of the board. A low profile frame
92mm fan provides ample airflow while remaining effectively silent.

3) Configuration (top)
R-Boxes can be run using CGMiner or BFGMiner. A Windows based PC is recommended although a similar process can be applied on a Raspberry Pi.

Using CGMiner:
  • Download the latest version of CGMiner and Zadig.
  • Extract, and run the zadig application.
  • Select "CP21202 USB to UART Bridge Controller" and then click "Replace Driver". You only have to do this once per computer.
  • Create a new file in notepad and enter pool information as below. Save it as a .bat in the same folder as CGMiner.
  • Run the bat file to start mining.

Antpool
Code:
cgminer.exe -o stratum.antpool.com:3333 -u dogie_RockMiner -p 123
BTCGuild
Code:
cgminer.exe -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u dogie_RockMiner -p 123
GHash IO
Code:
cgminer.exe -o us1.ghash.io:3333 -u dogie.RockMiner -p 123

Using BFGMiner:
  • **If you have previously installed drivers using Zadig as above, you will need to reverse this to use BFGMiner**.
  • Download the latest version of BFGMiner (Win64 version).
  • Create a new file in notepad and enter pool information as below. Save it as a .bat in the same folder as CGMiner.
  • Run the bat file to start mining.

Antpool
Code:
bfgminer.exe -o stratum.antpool.com:3333 -u dogie_RockMiner -p 123
BTCGuild
Code:
bfgminer.exe -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u dogie_RockMiner -p 123
GHash IO
Code:
bfgminer.exe -o us1.ghash.io:3333 -u dogie.RockMiner -p 123

4) Troubleshooting (top)
TBD as problems arise.

You've answered it yourself, the answer is to go back to the old firmware.

I mean PC, Pi etc. You'll likely get that error if there are no devices connected (or powered) properly, else need to restart a few times. You running custom Avalon package?
5704  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup [HD] on: June 04, 2014, 12:26:30 PM
You can remove the cap while on 120V as its just software based. I have no idea what it looks like though.

Please let us know if you find out how.  I ssh'd into the box and looked at the files but couldn't find anything.  If it's not in a text config file then it's over my head.

Oh it would be on the usual web interface, if its not there then its probably been hidden. The problem is the firmware is being developed at a rapid pace so things change and move faster than I can track them.

5706  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: June 04, 2014, 11:22:12 AM
I was thinking the other day it would be nice if we could set performance notifications, like idle notifications. So If I have a 1000GH miner, I could set it to report if it falls below 920 for more than 30 minutes.

I had an S2 module turned off (100GH) for more than a week before I noticed it, due to the variation of other reported miner speeds.
5707  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer S1 100GH and Avalon2 100GH [new new new price] on: June 03, 2014, 06:57:54 PM
I'm interested in finding some mining equipment. but how easy is this to setup?
I have setup guides in my sig for both of these, so very easy Smiley
5708  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Money making Bank of America armoured car on: June 03, 2014, 11:56:03 AM
Not sure about this. It would require more bank of america trucks to collect the money this one is printing, but they're all printing money as well. You'd have an infinite amount of bank of america trucks and too much money.
5709  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: MinerTechnologies.com - 3 TH/S and 200MH/S ASM1 for sell / Cloud contracts. on: June 03, 2014, 05:55:09 AM
Also mods, pelase delete those spammers Smiley

I think the best way is to send a miner to Dogie to test, and all this spammy bs will disappear, until then, people will use the flimsiest of evidence to troll your thread until you have proven your ability to deliver a working machine. However that may not end the trolling of your competition, thats just life unfortunately.
They will be doing, and as always I'll go into detail to see what we have. I'm actively recommending new companies don't post announcements any more until they have products in hand (or <2 weeks) and products are/have been independently verified. There's just too much pushback (sometimes rightly) before these steps are taken.

To moderators AND ADMINS
Guys,
Please do a simple ip check if the thread creator is posting from same ip used in AMT MINERS ACCOUNTS
IF YES JUST LET FOLKS KNOW.
I MEAN IT REALY.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE
And if this turns out to be same ip used from amt bring this evidence to the court agains AMT
That's not going to happen. Only law enforcement would get admins to reveal IP information.
5711  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S2 Setup [HD] on: June 02, 2014, 08:51:48 PM
Did anybody successfully tried to move boards around when you have one that periodically throws a bunch of (x)s, like 00X00XX000000?
I my case (x)s could be fixed by a reboot every ~24hr which is not a biggie, yet I would like to avoid the reboot.

I noticed that at least in my machine boards differ somewhat with some having more massive sinks than others. A couple have a bent/dent that goes around chipset on the bottom-or is it accidental?

One curios piece of info that might be of some use: my machine seems to be sensitive to how far away the outtake fans are from the wall.
A bit more than half a feet (or 15-20cm) from the wall-not good, thermal shutdowns every 12 hours or so, 1.5 ft (~half a meter)-no thermal shutdowns so far.

Makes sense, you're significantly reducing the airflow by being close to a wall for a design like this.

5713  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Separate "Computer Hardware" subforum on: June 02, 2014, 05:07:48 PM
I'd vote that computer hardware is duplicated to 'sha256 mining hardware'.

What about scrypt / x11? There are scrypt  ASICs now.
This isn't an altcoin forum.
5714  Other / Meta / Re: Accuracy down to 98% on: June 02, 2014, 02:55:30 PM
You have reported 232 posts with 89% accuracy.

Meh. There's always going to be an error factor, and its hard to tell exactly what you do wrong when it flickers between roundings.

Yeah the report tracking from a regular users' perspective is very limited - who knows whether your report has been handled if there is no change in the success percentage.

If you don't know where you went wrong then how can you hope to improve?

I was suggesting its not a problem. Mods are very happy to action 9/10 good reports so for them its not an issue.

5717  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted PMs Accessible by Admin? on: June 01, 2014, 10:29:14 PM
If both sender and recipient of a PM deletes it, then it's deleted from the database completely and I can't access it except through the daily database backups. (This is a massive pain, so don't expect me to do it for you...)

Deleted/edited posts are always saved forever.

If law enforcement requested it, how far back could you access? (Or how often do archives get purged?)
