601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was finally able to purchase an iPhone 13 pro max using my Bitcoin on: February 11, 2022, 02:27:20 AM
...Since the price of Bitcoin has come down a lot now, it has become foolish for me to buy the phone with Bitcoin.  Because for that I have to spend more bitcoin.  But still I am very happy to be able to do it.  Because in my country Bitcoin is still declared as an illegal currency.  Nevertheless, I got this advantage

What matters to you most is securing the iPhone 13 Pro at that moment which you have successfully done, whether btc price is down or later will be up should not matter much to you now, but I don't think I will spend my hard earned btc buying iPhone (different stroke for different folks), not just yet, perhaps when btc gets to a certain price level maybe.
Congrats on your first-ever btc purchase (which I believe it is) hope the device gives you the satisfaction  and worth every sat.
602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I the only one who loves BTC but hates the Metaverse idea and the NFTs? on: February 11, 2022, 02:05:30 AM
I also feel the same way as you but we are helpless because there are so many people who like metaverse lol...

Until now I have never invested in a metaverse project, my husband and I believe in Bitcoin more than having to bet on concepts that can't actually be applied to the public. I'm not against metaverse I just don't really like those who support metaverse tokens more than bitcoin.

It means you really don't bother to read news or pay attention to what is happening in the crypto world, believe it or not, NFT is taking the crypto world like a storm and you can either join or watch as it erupts.
You said a concept that can not actually applied to the public,
Here are some real cases of NFT from big organizations who by the way have not yet adopt btc but already building a world around NFT for their business:-
>>Alfa Romeo Is Building NFTs Into Latest Hybrid Car

>>Tickets to This Year's Super Bowl Will Come With Souvenir NFTs

>>Disney launches search for NFT manager

>>McDonald’s is jumping into the metaverse.

And many more real-life use cases from giant companies, which is something surprising how they are jumping into nft so quickly, now I see nft from a different perspective.
603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WSJ: How the Feds Tracked Hacked Bitfinex Funds on: February 10, 2022, 07:19:42 PM
What i find a bit surprising is how this couple was able to pull such a huge heist and cashing out becomes a problem! From the explanation above it seems they were lost on how to go about spending the money,
I thought every good hacker would have a correct cash-out plan, to me it seems, these two are not the real brain behind the heist.
The sad part is the media will capitalize on news like this to paint crypto bad the more, at least the authorities where able to apprehend them.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: PAYT, bounty scam. on: February 09, 2022, 03:31:54 PM
They are lier always and have not paid after promise for a long time I have also joined this bounty but not a payment in the website that was referred to make an account on the website, now their website is showing an error when login and no admin support due to pause chat in bounty group. so we cany say
The website is still running to avoid the legal action by the investors. The investors are thinking they are still developing the project while they are doing nothing but it's to keep investors to be silent.

Payaccpet bounty was a scam.
Even become payaccept being created by those scammers and there was a project called next exchange that has become a scam project. I know if the result will be this project turned to be a scam project.
The team already had very bad reputation in the crypto. They were also abandoning the investors. No progress, no result and then scam.

Now I believe the entire project was a well calculated scam not just the bounty reward aspect, the ceo of the project was very confident saying that the bm was the one trying to take advantage of them and scam them but it turns out he and his fake teams are all scammers,
Unfortunately, the project is struggling to survive despite all the liar's they are telling investors about working hard in the development,
I don't believe they are doing anything to actually improve and attract investors if they are still responding to messages on their Telegram means they are only stalling and waiting for the right moment to disappear.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get money women to be involved in Crypto on: February 09, 2022, 01:50:43 PM
I don't think there is any specific way or the best way to get women involved and mind you quite a number of women are already deeply involved in blockchain and crypto,
Getting involved in crypto has more to do with individual mindset and not gender base imo, anyone who finds this space interesting enough will join regardless of their gender, what matters most is the interest, ones there's interest whatever way the information is passed across will be acknowledged, it doesn't necessarily require feminine advertisement to attract them.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remember Bitfinex Exchange Hack of 2016 ? The stolen bitcoins are moving! on: February 09, 2022, 01:25:25 PM
Well according to news on Coindesk two individuals were arrested who conspired to hack the exchange, they are married couples (quite surprising), they are expected to "appear in court at 3:00 p.m. ET in New York, according to a U.S. Department of Justice"
Am shocked this two are not aware the wallets are under strict monitoring by the security agents, after hiding for a few years, now they will face the full weight of the law.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upcoming Apple iPhone feature for crypto payments on: February 09, 2022, 01:08:12 PM
Good enough for average users, not the hard-core crypto users, if there won't be a direct crypto payment I don't think many crypto lovers will be fascinated by the news, although the wallet will be a useful feature since apple is a very secure device compared to android, and making payments with crypto will be somewhat easier,  not bad at all, one step at a time, perhaps in future they will be more open to enable direct crypto payment.
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you even want all your BTC to be anonymous. on: February 08, 2022, 08:04:58 PM
Speaking of p2p transactions, it used to be very difficult, but now it is very easy. There was a time when there were not enough customers or buyers to do p2p transactions, there was also a matter of security. But finding a p2p buyer is not a difficult task at present. Nowadays all freelancers know about Bitcoin and everyone has a group to do p2p transactions. So, now it is possible to transact with tax evasion if you want.

True if you happen to be in a very restricted and highly monitored p2p2 group it will be a lot easier to transact because there are escrow services in the group to be used,
I remember used to be in one and the admins were mainly the escrow providers but it wasn't enough to keep scammers at bay, there were many of them pretending to be admins to scam. P2p2 have a high chance of getting scam than using the actual exchange  with the constant talk about regulation of btc and crypto I think having btc anonymous won't matter much to some people because from a recent post I saw about Michael Saylor request for btc regulation, majority of posters believe regulations is the way forward. So it all depends on the owner an
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term Investment Suggestion on: February 08, 2022, 07:38:13 PM
Assuming our long term in this scenario is a year and above, then it would be best to invest in something that will grow over time, trusted, and secure,  for that reason, I would go for solana (sol), binance (bnb) avalanche (avax) terra luna (luna) polkadot (dot)
I believe these projects have the capability to stand the test of time, since they are not 100% fully developed, 2 to 3 years to come will sure make a difference, who knows what price they will sell for.
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where are you guys exploring for new coins, and monitoring the exicted? on: February 08, 2022, 07:23:49 PM
There are also good crypto information on twitter you just have to follow the right set of people to get information as early as they come, if you are lucky, you also get information on upcoming projects about to launch and probably have the opportunity to be whitelisted early.

If you are looking for yet to be launched and listed kind of info then cmc and CG is not the place for you to look at because only projects already trading you can find there, except you want to monitor your portfolio,
Medium is another good place to get first hand info about projects, however, it all depends on what type of info you are looking for.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Super Bowl jumps on the NFT bandwagon!!! on: February 06, 2022, 06:37:05 PM
I can see that NFT is gaining ground so fast than any trends that I have seen in crypto, the way these big companies are adopting the use of NFT in their business is really amazing, if you ask me, I would say NFT is the fastest growing trend so far,
And this news of Super Bowl, this must be very great to the fans, I mean through this act thousands of fans get to encounter NFT for the first time, perhaps also learn a thing or two about blockchain and crypto.
This is definitely a welcome development in the NFT and metaverse space, I keep reading all this big news about NFT and this makes to believe NFT is the next big thing.
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not experience blood bath on: February 06, 2022, 06:14:18 PM
Am also of the opinion we won't see such a heavy blood bath as we experience back in 2017/18, the space has matured more since then, lots of institutions have ventured into btc now than before, they are a key player in the market and would like to protect their investment. so the whole idea of seeing btc below 20k as some people were speculating is no longer on the table,
The market seems stable, hopefully, we are out of woods, however, we shouldn't forget the market can surprise us at any time.
613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor says crypto regulations would speed adoption on: February 06, 2022, 06:03:50 PM
What happens is that governments like this want to go against BTC and everything it represents, they have to accept that it is money, and it is a lot of money that moves in the market, obviously people will enter the market as soon as they have knowledge, but regulations are very easy to jump, you just don't have to put KYC and start doing it, because one of the things for which Satoshi created BTC is so that our money is managed by ourselves, not by governments or banks that tell us how much we must move, how much we can have, I think that the regulations, even with VPNs, can be skipped. I know a friend who lives in Spain and from there he evades Doing in a spectacular way, he never pays taxes, nor can they trace his operations.

Yeah the only thing regulations will bring is control which has always been the target of governments, if this happens, they are finally having their way, the majority of btc community are normal users who don't have that much technical knowledge to use vpn bypass restrictions, those who understand things properly will seek alternative ways to handle the situation,
But so far this hasn't been official yet, so we just have to wait and see how it will turn out. if regulating the crypto space will be the only way to attain mass adoption.
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What use case is crypto lacking today? on: February 05, 2022, 07:35:10 PM
In the medical field perhaps! I don't think I have seen any project directly related to the medical aspect or there is am not aware of them, in any case, I think the way we have several projects in financial, sports and entertainment, agriculture aspect, there aren't any or many projects in the medical aspect on the blockchain, this I would love to see.
615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor says crypto regulations would speed adoption on: February 05, 2022, 01:36:06 PM
Am not surprised, it is bound to happen sooner or later, although doing this completely negate the narrative of privacy but it will gain widespread adoption according to Saylor.

Now the question is which one is most pressing! Remain in the original narrative without regulations and no adoption or change the narrative, give up privacy and gain adoption? Since we can't have it both ways, there is opportunity cost,

Adoption will be achieved but at the cost of something also valuable, and from the above posts, it seems the majority already agrees to regulations.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin theft and mobile phone on: February 05, 2022, 01:14:04 PM
The man probably trusted his family, which is a really natural thing to do, though sometimes it turns out to be a mistake, like it clearly did in this here, as the son proved untrustworthy, unfortunately.

What relationship is stronger than father and son! Of course, he trusted his son enough to inform him about his mobile wallet and the content stored inside, otherwise, he would not have a clue about it.
It is a shame something like this happened with a trusted member of the family, is this indirectly saying don't trust even your closest relatives! I think the son is just being too impatient to do stuff like this, if this was a random thief it would have been different, but this is a son, too bad this can cause a rift in the relationship between father and son.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who creates more impact in bitcoin price the Hodlers or Investors? on: February 05, 2022, 01:24:10 AM
When did Elon get into the picture that makes him an Earl adopter! Am sure there are others that will fit in this profile, I don't think the holders and investors explanation given represent the picture well,
An investor who bought and hodl however long is still considered a holder until he decided to sell, let's say holders and traders explain this scenario well,
Investors or holders create more price impact than day traders because traders will take profit at any slight percentage up unlike holders who will hold firm for the price to go high.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins released during market crash on: February 04, 2022, 06:20:24 PM
Don't use this to judge the project and think it is because of its quality, this happens with some projects, they are able to x2 or more even when the rest of the market is red, when it is time for this token to correct, you will be surprised how dip it will go even when the rest of the market is bullish, there is nothing special with this type of situation.
The strength of a project does not lie on the ability to pump during a bear market but the ability to truly develop into a standard project with serious backing.
619  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come BTC is not at least $75,000 yet? on: February 04, 2022, 06:09:41 PM
Humans for you, since btc is not government approved yet some people don't trust it enough to buy even when the price is ridiculously cheap, even among those who bought, some sell at the slightest correct made by fud, to prefer to stay in fiat despite how it deprecate in value,
Before the majority of people realize they are missing out on this opportunity btc price would be very high by then, I wish I have zillion cash to buy enough and seat back to watch the rest of the people fighting over what is left Grin
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT presales vs ICOs on: February 04, 2022, 03:36:41 PM
NFT Presale is not similar with ico presale and the comparison does not match, how many nft presale have you participated on @op? because to my understanding most nft sale are carried out base on certain specification and most times only few people can be able to buy unlike ico that was open to anyone with cash at hand, don't consider most of these shitcoins nft created just to quickly grab money, legit nft sales are done base on auctions sometimes, the supply is usually small which makes them expensive, ico presale started nicely as a way to raise funds but scammers took over and it was a different story.
