6041  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo0.2BTC DailyJackpot$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 16, 2021, 09:31:45 AM
~~~
Impressive that already for 70 BTC FUN tokens have been bought. Currently, I am in loss of around 20%, but I hope that the price goes up again in the future. Looking forward to all the benefits of the premium membership, hopefully we get some nice surprises  Grin.
Yep, -30% loss is not a pretty sight on my screen right now, and honestly, I fully expect the price to drop down even further once withdrawing and selling is available to the masses. You see, what FB essentially did was manufacture a rally with the buying option, then create a price floor by preventing withdrawing for the first month. Right now the price seems stable with the occasional $0.003 both ways, but a month from now is when stuff is going to get ugly, I anticipate.
And once that happens, I'm gonna buy some more tokens on the cheap to reap the membership benefits.
As I said some pages back, I'm not sure it looks good to reference the tokens in BTC terms. I am currently at a -16.59% loss in bitcoin terms but a small profit in $ terms.
What worries me is what you say: I fear that the 15th of March people will massively sell the tokens if this trend continues.
When I bought them I thought to hold them for a year but if the first month we are at a loss I don't think it is likely that long-term the price is going to appreciate, especially in BTC terms. For that, I prefer to sell the tokens for BTC. The problem is, maybe the 15th of March there will be panick selling, and that doesn't seem to be a good moment to sell.
6042  Economy / Speculation / Re: How would you protect your potential profits? on: February 16, 2021, 09:21:19 AM
How would you protect your potential profits?
By leaving them in Bitcoin. Converting them to fiat is just plain stupid.
Of course you can spend a little on some personal toys. Some people like cars.
I prefer this nice little private lake on almost 400 acres (over 150 hectares) of pristine forest:
Yes, I totally agree. OP is thinking too much in fiat terms. I you really believe in bitcoin, in its future, in its potential as the best safe-haven store of value in the world, you won't sell you bitcoin to "protect" your earnings from some short-term fluctuations. Just HODL.
I also agree that you can sell small portions as it goes up, as I have done.
6043  Economy / Speculation / Re: When BTC Bull run will end? on: February 16, 2021, 04:14:42 AM
Bitcoin won't see $ 50k for me. or even if he sees it, he will not be able to rise above it. I expect a solid decline since too many new people are entering bitcoin. It can go down to 38-39k dollars.
You are a fucking genious.
It can go down to 38-39k dollars.
Know what ? it is obvious that you don't have any Bitcoin in your wallet and that is Full of Shitcoin that's why you can react like this.
Yeah, that's what happening here.
OP I don't know what interest you have in knowing when the bull run ends. No one has a crystal ball with which to predict the future. Based on the past, we could say it will be towards the end of the year, but there is no guarantee that this will be the case. In the meantime, I am enjoying the moment.
6044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nearly 20% of Privatefly's January sales were paid in cryptocurrency on: February 16, 2021, 03:47:43 AM
Anything that is news in the direction of bitcoin normalization is good news, they not only accept crypto payments,  they also have a Bitcoin private jet membership program.
What is not clear to me when I read news like this is if bitcoin will become widespread as a means of payment. It seems it will succeed more (as it's already succeeding) as a store of value.
The news is a bit confusing, as it talks about accepting cryptocurrencies in general, but in terms of sales it refers to Bitcoin. It does not specify what percentage of those payments were made with other cryptocurrencies.
6045  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin is going cross $50k? on: February 15, 2021, 04:42:17 AM
After almost touching $50k yesterday, it is down today, currently $46.5k. But the good thing about this is that even if it drops to $40k or thereabouts, it can break $50 in a matter of a day. I don't think it's going to take long. You never know but the outlook looks very good.
6046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Intrinsic value of Bitcoin and Gold on: February 15, 2021, 04:27:14 AM
Just thinking of talking points to debunk the "Bitcoin has no intrinsic value" narrative.
So here is one train of thought...
-The intrinsic value of gold is much less than its speculative value.
-The electronics value is about 10% of its value.
-The jewelry value is only so much because gold is in itself overvalued.
Therefore you could say that - if nothing else - the intrinsic value of Bitcoin is that it is a portable alternative to the non-intrinsic value of gold.
 Shocked
Yeah, that sentence "Bitcoin has no intrinsic value" is tipically said by haters and nocoiners. It is a rationalization that tries to justify why they could have shared at $1, $10, $100 etc. and did not. Gold and other precious metal lovers must be especially concerned, because they are the ones who are particularly threatened. The intrinsic value of Bitcoin lies in the fact that you can easily cross borders with $ 1 billion and similar amounts, or send them in a few minutes to the other side of the planet, while with gold this is impossible.
6047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who pays for these companies? What is the resistance point of Bitcoin? on: February 15, 2021, 04:21:09 AM
What we are talking about here is not just any people that bought bitcoin because they are alright with a 2.5x return, we are talking here about people that wants their money to multiply without the hitch of waiting for 3 years. They won't simply hodl their bitcoin or would hodl for long term but one thing is for sure and that they are going to make ways to multiply it fast. They know that a crash will damage them so they are going to do whatever it takes to get those  profits as quick as possible.
You don't know what you are talking about. Those companies precisely what they do is to give stability to the market. Tesla or MS are going to hold for at least, the very least 10 years. Once they have bought, they are not going to act like retail investors. They have bought because Bitcoin is the best safe haven in the world and it has been giving an average annual return of 200% a year. The only way they could think of selling is if it gives a return significantly higher than that 200%, which is far too unlikely to happen.
6048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2021, 04:13:03 AM
We seem to have a little resistance at $50k, yesterday it did not cross that barrier, as many of us thought it would. The good thing about the bull market is that resistances become supports, I hope that when we cross it, the $50k will become a support below which it will not go down.
6049  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Its possible to have 100 accounts running in Freebitco.in ? on: February 15, 2021, 04:04:55 AM
It is possible, but the most likely scenario is that you will be found out, all your accounts will be closed and you will have lost all your time. It was easier to abuse the system years ago, but freebitco.in has been taking actions like massive account closures and prize reductions that have made it harder and harder for people like you to abuse the system.
6050  Economy / Reputation / Re: ChipMixer directly enables Scammers, Drug Dealers, CP, Terrorists, Tax Evaders.. on: February 14, 2021, 05:09:18 PM
eddie13, here's a thought for you:
ChipMixer Bitcoin Crypto directly enables Scammers, Drug Dealers, CP, Terrorists, Tax Evaders..
Will you stop using Bitcoin, or for that matter crypto, or do you have no principles? Geez.
I've thought that precisely when I've read the OP. The first time I heard about bitcoin I hear it linked to illegal activities, like paying for child porn.
The thing does not make the action. A knife can be used to cut an apple and to kill a person. Do we stop using knives in the kitchen because you can kill with them?
Nonsense.
6051  Other / Meta / Re: an appeal thread on: February 14, 2021, 05:01:59 PM
I do not know the real reason for that and I believe that my posts are valuable and they were deleted by mistake
<-- You can see how valuable your posts are by your merit score.
It's the first I've done: to have look at his merit score. the fact that he has 250 merits has made me suspect that he got them airdropped.
OP, you seem to believe what you are saying. Do you really think they have been deleted by mistake when you aren't getting any merits at all?
6052  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How much money is enough money? on: February 14, 2021, 04:53:08 PM
At what point will one say that he or she has had enough money?
It depends a lot by each and every person, since with more money at hand people always tend to spend more. And the country they are living in.
I've read somewhere many years ago that a study concluded a number around 3M USD, iirc.
Then some may count it by the yearly income they'd expect multiplied by the life expectancy. This depends also by the size of household, but I think there again the number is at least 1.5-2M USD.
Lately many tell that the number could be much simpler: 1 BTC. But they may be just dreamers and we get into speculation.
There are many factors to consider here. One of them is life expectancy as it has been mentioned, also current expenses/lifestyle.
Personally, as far as I'm concerned, I would divide the question into two:
1) How much is enough money to ensure financial stability on the day I die.
2) How much is enough money to live a dream life.
For 2) I would need much more money than for 1).
I'll probably achieve 1) by myself, with my current saving/investing plan.
I'll probably won't achieve 2) unless I'm really lucky or something, so I guess I'll never have enough.
This being said, I'll rest easy enough getting 1), knowing that I'm better off than most people.
6053  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not reach $50,000 on: February 14, 2021, 02:33:24 PM
I realized that the market would be more interesting if bitcoin will not reach $50,000 at this bull run.
Just like the last bull run, bitcoin did not reach $20,000 and the price corrected hard.
So I'm thinking maybe it could happen this time and we will call it " bull run over" while watching the price dump.
What do you think ?
I understand it's a joke but I don't see the humor in it. Or if you are serious, I understand that you don't hold Bitcoin, or hold very little.
What do you call interesting?
I call interesting more and more companies are accepting bitcoin as a means of payment and buying it for their balance sheets.
I call interesting growing demand and dwindling supply because of halvings and because people are reluctant to sell at the thought of Bitcoin's future potential.
I call it interesting that more and more people are recognizing Bitcoin as the world's best store of value.
Etc.
6054  Economy / Economics / Re: Earning interest on your crypto on: February 14, 2021, 02:29:20 PM
So, I have small amount of cryptocurrency I bought and mined over the years and will HODL, but I am seeing news articles and advertisements about earning interest on my coins. And the returns are not bad--5 to 7% per year.
It seems BlockFi is the front runner. They seem to have partnerships with the major US crypto exchanges, e.g. Gemini and Coinbase (I am in the USA). I am also googling and trying to educate myself.
But, I have serious concerns about learning my crypto to 3rd parties. What happens if the institution that I loan to, for example BlockFi, goes brankrupt? I assume I will lose my crypto. Would it be safer to loan to an exchange and I don't run that risk?
What are your experiences so far with loaning your crypto?
What place do you loan to, or recommend loaning your crypto to?
Just swap all your shitcoins for Bitcoin.
Isn't a 200% percent (average) annual return enough for you?
Bitcoin has been the most profitable investment of the past decade, and it looks like it also going to be the most profitable one of the decade ahead. If it maintains that rate of return, you only have to hold $1,000 in Bitcoin for 6.5 years it to turn into a million. I'm not going to say that it's going to keep that return percentage but just imagine if bitcoin were able to sustain a return of 50-100% per year. Just holding $1,000 is going to make you a lot of money. And if you start with more, you'll make a lot more. So forget about ridiculous interest rates for losing control over your investment and focus on the best asset you can invest in.
6055  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 14, 2021, 06:14:40 AM
ATH already. It seems we are going to break $50k today.  Smiley
6056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Morgan Stanley May Bet on Bitcoin in $150 Billion Investment Arm on: February 14, 2021, 04:59:12 AM
Although it is only a possibility, not yet confirmed, more and more companies will be joining in. Tesla opened the way, and MicroStrategy recently
Institutional adoption is on the way, and there is no way it can be stopped.
6057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Don’t fall for the bitcoin bubble, even the Flintstones had a better system"... on: February 14, 2021, 04:53:07 AM
Sounds to me like the Luddites of the 19th century, saying that machines are stealing our jobs.
A person can be smart in general but be wildly wrong about some things, as is the case here.
6058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Heroes of Bitcoin - A thanks to the many good people. on: February 13, 2021, 11:21:18 AM
If you add about Elon Musk, you need to add McAffee too Grin
Yes, lol. Even if they gave somewhat bad reputation to Bitcoin, I think they have to be added. Ver is already on the list in spite of misleading people to buy his shitcoin.
I would also put Saylor among the most recent ones, I think he has done a great job in a short period of time.
6059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Journey : Doubling my BTC investment on: February 13, 2021, 08:40:29 AM
This post comes in handy, because lately I've been thinking about accumulating more and not selling. My plan was to partially sell when the price went up, and that's what I have done. I sold a little when it went over $20k, another little when it went over $30k and another little recently over $40k. My idea was to keep selling but always keep some of it. Lately I've been thinking of this as a 4 year plan: accumulate as much as possible for the next cycle after the next halving.
6060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updated list of countries that are not friends to Bitcoin. on: February 13, 2021, 08:34:11 AM
With Paypal, Tesla, Mastercard and others in the crypto world, plus those to come, I believe that little by little, Bitcoin will be clearly legal almost everywhere in the world. Another thing is that it will be extremely regulated and the anonymous part will be less and less.
