Litecoin, doge, monero and ethereum, this card made a lot of people rich.
622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4x 1660 super or RTX3090 on: February 12, 2021, 03:56:03 PM
Both are good, if you are going for RTX3090 make sure you buy better brands with three fans and good thermal pads tweaks, you can watch youtube videos about best RTX3090 cards available on the market, I just find the 1660 Ti and super to be extremely quiet and cool

LOL if you pack 1660ti together they ain't cool no more and you can add the trouble of managing 4 pieces of them.

go for 3090..what is this bull market for?
It's not hard to manage 4 GPUs at all, I have 6x 1660 supers and they mine at 31mh each at 54°C per one, they are all Zotac brand with just two fans, try getting that temp on a RTX3090 and you will be the difference

if 4 GPUs (1 rig) is all you have then i agree that they are not hard to manage, if you have 10 rigs (or more) of then you will understand why. hehe

Managing 10rigs of 12gpus is not hard at all. Just make sure you standardize the motherboards, and label the gpus with its pci bus number.

until it gets old hehe
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best option? 2 little psu or one big on: February 12, 2021, 02:45:49 PM
1 rig = 1 psu is always better

density..density..density..

if you have 30 rigs, imagine having 60 PSU? troubleshooting ease, lesser point of failures etc..etc..

if you only have 1 or 2 rigs then you can be geeky with stuff all you want.

More than enough. the cards just reach the empty slots which means that the rig will be a 3 card rig not more.  It is fine as 3x114=342 mh a dead solid rig to the least.

I scored this card today.

 https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3975-KR

should come in a week.

I'm surprised you're able to stick to just the EVGA like you said you would with all these slim pickings.  I've just been picking up whatever I could find.  Beggar's can't be choosers.  If you told me 6 months ago people would be paying $2000 for 120mhs of eth I would've scoffed at you.  I have 3 cards on the way all mix and match.  I have a Gigabyte 3060ti, a Zotac 3070 Twin Edge OC, and a Gigabyte 3090 Gaming.  I'm just hoping I can keep them cool enough so they don't throttle.

--snip--

if bull market is coming with full force then we ROI all our gpus be it 5700xt or 3090. remember when home miners cannot max out their mining rooms because rx 470 4gb? LOL.

ROI them alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll hehehehe  Grin
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: February 09, 2021, 04:15:14 PM
Certainly we have to be honest, we have fallen so far behind other projects in terms of capitalization that it could be that investors do not see the potential here that was expected a few years ago.

The number of master nodes has dropped a lot in the last month (-100 nodes) and that is an interesting indicator to take into account.

Before, few serious projects offered 6% per year, but today there are dozens of possibilities to obtain that return, even by stacking with stable coins BTC or ETH ...

We have to reinvent ourselves, time and slowness have been our worst enemy ...

The Dash vs BTC chart looks like an infinite horrible downtrend.  Cry

Dash is like hard drive tech like western digital black, a performance hard drive but today, in the age of ssd drives, even the cheapest ones can easily beat the crap of that "performance" hard drive. Hehehe

32gb ddr4 sticks will run out next...specially now that frustrated gpu miners cannot find those damn gpus in stores  Cheesy
To be honest, I'm surprised that there is no hype about Filecoin yet, and I might not have been particularly interested in mining this coin if Protocol Labs hadn't been behind the development of the IPFS technology. Although the entry threshold is quite high, but by hearsay, the return on equipment is within 70 days, which is quite tempting. I heard about the $15,000 threshold + it is not known how many coins to buy (didn’t go into details yet).

It is not just the equipment but also the internet connection requirements are higher than the typical POW mining.

I think they are going for dapps too, i already speculated in the past that filecoin can be the next best thing. Forces miners to have 1pc = 1miner unlike the current gpu setup 1pc = up to x amount of  gpu miner (pcie sockets)

1pc = 1 miner, how are you gonna asic that? --->economy

knowing that filecoin mining uses gpu, rams, ssd and cpu means it can do more stuff than ethereum.

in computer world analogy kind of way...

bitcoin = logic gates = like basic calculator

ethereum = microprocessor = like the 8080 for automation

filecoin = modern desktop = what can the modern desktop do? it can be the "world computer" like what vitalik buterin first envision for ethereum.

So quite an unexpected turn of events in the last 24 hours. Elon was pumping Dogecoin for the last week or two and then Tesla released a report that they bought of $1.5B worth of BTC, not Dogecoin.

Some people are actually quite upset on the Reddit and Twitter regarding this. They are saying they feel tricked and don't understand why he did what he did. There was someone that predicted that Elon was shilling Doge to keep people's attention away from Bitcoin while his company purchased it instead.

Either way, did you know he was going to buy BTC? Personally his tweets I find are more for humor rather than anything concrete. So sure he hinted with the bio change on twitter and provided hints like "it was inevitable" however did you actually think he was going to go forth with it? I didn't. I however been following his crypto tweets for years. In the past he was asked if he would accept crypto for his Tesla's and he just avoided the question. Hence none of us assumed that his discussion with Microstrategy CEO would lead to anything concrete.

doge is topping, it was trading at hundreds of sats against BTC in it previous all time high at cryptsy..now what did it achieve all these years? and what did bitcoin achieve all these years?. I bet doge can increase in value more in $ but not sats hehe

what do you think will happen with this? LOL
630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stay away from new POW coins on: February 08, 2021, 06:13:40 AM
Some do not even reach some decent exchanges or worse it can't even get listed to any exchange LOL

This market cycle has not procduced a next best thing POW coin.

Anon is XMR, platform is ETH....what's next? Enjoy while this mining goodness still lasts.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: This is the MOST PROFITABLE Bitcoin miner you can still buy! Including BCH & BSV on: February 06, 2021, 01:34:58 AM
btc mining section in the forum may delete it as vosk delves into two minable alt coins 🪙

most likely it should stay here.

...  since they delete my content that's focused only on BTC there as well.

I face a ton of censorship on Bitcointalk, it's why I put minimum effort into the threads. Sad

maybe they are trying to tell you something  Roll Eyes

This forum is dying, and rightfully so, meanwhile the VoskCoin YouTube channel continues to hit new all-time high in metrics, it's their loss Cheesy

It's exactly why I spent my time creating videos on YouTube as opposed to writing posts on Bitcointalk.

many people would agree with you

here is a good thread which is close to your point

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5313658.0

I would say censorship  hurts the forum
I would say bitcoin maximumilist  where it is bitcoin or no coin is a huge part of the problem.

When you look and read posts of those that believe no coin other than bitcoin they come across as elitist and turn off a lot of people.

I like the forum as it lets me say curse words.
Being a Navy veteran from Brooklyn and Queens NY  I tend to curse quite a bit.

When it comes to coins I like a multi verse of coins as my signature shows.

follow the greed and then follow the money where ever it goes, that's all there is to it hehe
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: This is the MOST PROFITABLE Bitcoin miner you can still buy! Including BCH & BSV on: February 06, 2021, 01:21:08 AM
On Reddit ethmining and gpumining, half of the new idiots newbie miners asking every day "I want to start mining. Tell me what to do." Not even bothering to google or search and read. The other half of newbie miners expect 32 MH/s out of 580s off the bat and want to argue about using SATA to power risers. I've told them if they want to learn how to tune gpu, go read bitcointalk altcoin forum. I guess nobody listened.

sata is good enough but it is last choice, also be ready to suspect it when there is an issue. depends on cards too if it will draw much power in the pcie riser, i think the fury x did it in the past.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: February 05, 2021, 08:46:47 AM
What i don't understand is how people can sell their Dash, feel really negative about Dash to the point that they stop recommending it to others, but still feel such an overwhelming need
to read and reply to (often negatively) posts in this Dash ANN sub-forum. A Dash ANN sub-forum that they not participated in for many many years, but which somehow got their full attention
last year. I guess i will never fully understand that.

People should not invest or stop investing in crypto because of what someone reads or writes in this forum, they should invest in Dash or other cryptocurrencies after doing their homework.
That homework does not (and should not) include this sub-forum. This sub-forum is nothing more of a shoutbox anyways these days, with little added value to serious investors.

At least it has some visibility for Dash announcements and is a place for discussions. But if those discussions are the same type of discussions that has been held for the last nine months, then the discussions part will loose its attraction as well. What remains is a place for trolls, endless repeating discussions about the blockreward allocation change by toknormal and afbitcoins (and those feeding them) and Dash public announcements.

Nothing wrong with that, i guess.
Although it does sound like a sad place to dwell in  Undecided

Unfortunetely it is not a place i like to dwell in, so i decided to take a break from this sub-forum. A little unplugging of the mind so to speak.

So long and thank you for all the fish!  Roll Eyes

aaawwwwwwwwww...

we are in a bull market and someone like my friend qwizzie left?.. capitulated in bull market? yes you can still capitulate since dash is still less than 1/10th of it all time high.

i bet something is wrong with dash, if dash is still in top 10 he will be here with his flaming sword and keep the fight.

maybe he lost a lot of opportunity of making money by wasting time with this dash shitcoin, or about to sell his bags.

well...i hope you learn for the better and you get rich with your new endeavors..

p35 motherboard with ddr2 and q8400 there is also q6600 and q9550 LOL.. this rig is already a teenager  Cheesy

older dual core affects hashrate, so i throw them away.
638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Desperate situation with my rig, can't see any solution!! on: February 04, 2021, 08:25:09 PM
The art of "process of elimination" begins.

This is where spare parts becomes useful.

I'm using windows 7 BTW..i got clones of 80gb hdd..i am surprised that cheap flash drives are now at 128gb LOL. Will try flash drive booting hehe

Clones will make ease of eliminating windows issues or hard drive issues...if they are the problem. Also check the sata cable, just in case..

You become desperate because you can't move those cards to another rig and continue mining...if you have spares then you have the luxury of time to troubleshoot the issue.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 03, 2021, 12:02:23 AM
Well the 3090 looks better as we are now getting $0.0933 an mh

so my 112 mh is doing over $10.50 a day brings roi under 200 days.

Eth at 1537 usd.

hehe we will reach a point where we would wish a more expensive card exist that do 150MH. but it is the end of the road 3080 ti is weaker than 3090, maybe 3080ti is more $ per watt but still lower hash than 3090.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 02, 2021, 09:17:06 PM
Eth is pushing 1600
paying about 9 cent an mh at viabtc.

so the 3090 I just hooked up is 113x0.09 = $10.17 a day.  It burns 320 watts  (whole 1 card rig) or 7.68 kwatts make it 8 kwatts.  My winter power cost is 10 cents so 80 cents in power make it $1.17 my card is clearing 10.17-1.17 = $9.00 a day

230 days = 2070 which was what I paid for it.

The evga 3090  model 3987 arrived.  Beast.

Not worth the money, but wtf why not.

I screen shot smos.

it does 115  mh at 300 watts.

it clears about 7 usd a day so 300 days to break even

food for thought..

if you bought 3090 last year, that purchase feels like a 3080 purchase today LOL  Grin
