621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: December 10, 2023, 11:07:23 PM
From past few weeks whenever I open any browser or social media all I could see is some random blogs and news about Altcoins which will have massive pump and which coins I have to invest.

Folks, it's times to be more cautious than every and never go with any random prediction provided over telegram or through blogs as it's a routine that once the crypto market is trending upwards and bullrun is expected we see a lot of experts in the market via various channels like Youtube, Twitter, Telegram, Discord and WhatsApp group sharing random coins with catchy headlines like "Top 5 altcoins with 100x pump", "Whales are investing in these altcoins", "Altcoins which will go to moon", etc.

Please try to understand these are the same people who spreads fud during bear market and impersonates as experts.

Don't go with any such predictions and rather do your own research because I have seen people randomly investing into shitcoins just because it's mentioned over Twitter and the person who has tweeted has huge followers. There will be so much of deceiving as they will share some 10 coins and even if one of them prospers they will use it as upselling point.

It's a great point.  When everything is pumping people tend to think they know how to time the market, which coins to pick, in and out positions, etc.  If they tend to be a popular source I'd recommend going back to when things were just about to dump last cycle and see what they were saying then.  When ypu make hundreds of predictions by default some of them are right.  Doesn't mean future success.  All in all I'd say do your own research and make your own calls.
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: December 10, 2023, 11:04:26 PM
There are some old people in my family which are paying cricket fantasy games. They usually talk about the games and their performance is matches almost daily. It is obvious that if any younger guy in family will listen about this, he will also be eager to know more about this. How can I stop the younger generation in my family being carried away by this and focus on other important things like studies only ?

For the most part just keep them away from the conversations.  If it's witholin your own family just tell them to talk about gambling away from your kids.  And yeah if gambling is a heavy part of your family's culture it can definitely get them turned onto gambling themselves.  It's hard either way because of how much kids are exposed to everything because of the internet.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 10, 2023, 11:01:49 PM
Congrats to Lakers. LeBron is fantastic at this age, great stats. He's older than some coaches and almost at the same age as others. It's hard to play high level at that age in any sports, not just basketball, and he's still making near career average stats. Anthony Davis was insane last night, 41-20-5 in a final like that? That's insane performance. Lakers well deserved this first trophy. I wonder what will they change in the in-season tournament for next season though.

I'm not sure if they need to change anything.  The NBA got exactly what they wanted, front end of the season action.  The best part for me was the last games of the round Robin when points mattered.  Teams were up 20 in the fourth and kept theor starters in and were running up the scores.  Hate when during a blowout they throw in their scrubs.  Especially when you pay to go.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 10, 2023, 08:18:44 PM
It is obvious that Lakers are decent enough that they won this one, so I think they should be decent enough to be "contenders", doesn't mean they may win but they are contenders.

The real one I believe could be the biggest is still Bucks and even after them showing nothing of that caliber so far, I think they are still great, Dame and Giannis together is a much better duo than both Jokic and Murray or Lebron and AD, because Dame and Giannis could do what they do with a lot better perfection and could become something much bigger. Their pick and roll feels quite unstoppable, how could you manage to prevent them from scoring? They both are great at what they do and even all by themselves on iso plays they are good enough.

Nah, the Lakers are no contenders.
I don't see them beating a team like the Nuggets, Mavs, CLippers or even OKC in 7 games. Sure they play well at home but that's it.

Winning this tournament means nothing. They won 3 elimination games in a best of 1 series, that's it.
Also you should't forget, LBJ or AD are still to get an injury this season, as they so often do the last years. Once this happens they will drop in the rankings as well. And if they don't have home court advantage in at least the 1st round they will bust out in that one.

I mean they are contenders so to speak but not a huge threat I agree with you.  With lebron wanting the best of his legacy he needed to have this win.  Now he can add Champs of first play in tournament.  But yeah a 7 game series is way different than a couple single elimination games.  As for the injuries agreed its way too early to know but I'm sure injuries will shape this season at some point.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone here started with a decent bankroll in sports? on: December 10, 2023, 08:16:35 PM
This kind of a pointless question no?  Every gambler has started with a small stack, large stack, etc but it's all relative.  For a millionaire to start with a $2k bankroll winning and losing it is way different than someone that only has $2k to theor names.  I'm sure some people are up and some are down.  What is the point of your question?
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 09, 2023, 12:12:26 AM
Judging by their past matchups, I find the Pacers to be the better team as they defeated the top two teams in the East. First, they beat the Celtics, and now the Bucks, so they should not be underestimated just because the Lakers are the popular team. The Lakers, on the other hand, beat the Suns and the Pelicans, which are not even in the top 3 in the West.

I understand that it's hard to predict, but I suggest you follow your own intuition as this should be a close match.
I think it is quite the opposite, Pacers are a fine team there is no doubt about that, but Lakers are doing wonders at a stacked Western conference, and that's a very good thing for them, they are looking like they are one of the better teams in the league.

I think Pacers will lose and I think Lakers will win this one. I am sure of just one thing and that is the fact that there will be a lot of betting on this game without a doubt, it is going to be quite obvious and we are going to see a lot of changes for sure. I think it should be important to remember that we are talking about Lakers and Lebron here, when it is the finals Lebron may not have wonderful record, but he does have plenty of rings to show how he plays much better on finals.

I'm on the Pacers side and honestly I have a side bet on them winning the finals.  Going to put some dough on Haliburton taking home the MVP.  Can't believe the Knicks passed on him taking obi, still eats me up especially because they needed a point guard back then.  Dude is gonna be a monster.  Only thing that can stop him is if playoff Bron is in full effect.

It's going to be a good challenge for the Lakers here, I also agree that Haliburton might win the MVP finals as the main offense of the
Pacers will be executed from him, I mean he's expected to bring everything on his shoulder to win the finals.

Though, from the other side of myself, I also see Lakers to bring everything in, LeBron and Davis combine plus everyone who also needed to
provide whatever help they can give for both superstars.

And for sure lebron wants to win the first play in tourny no doubt.  He wants to be the best player ever he needs to have all of these things under his belt.  This would just be another cherry to go along with the rest of his accolades.  I still think Pacers take it but I'm gonna throw some money on the over for lebron points.  He gonna shoot a ton.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you withdraw your cryptocurrency from an exchange to a bank account on: December 08, 2023, 10:47:26 PM
Today i went to 5 banks to ask if they would be any problem withdrawing my crypto from an exchange to the bank. I let them know, i will have all the evidence they will need. they seemed very hostile to the topic of crypto. one bank went as far to tell me to not buy crypto.
I came across a lovely lady Today in the bank and she honestly let me know that i should not withdraw my crypto and deposit it to the bank because the bank will freeze the account even if you have evidence, because they do not know how to deal with the asset. I am from the United kingdom and would like to know the safest way to withdraw my crypto and put it in a bank

thank you for your comments

Why would you ever want a banking institution to hold your crypto nor am I aware of any doing that today.  Crypto was literally created so that people can get out from underneath these banking institutions and back in the hands of the people.  Why can't you just send it to a wallet where you control the keys?

629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 08, 2023, 10:43:11 PM
Yeah that's not the way to go.  Even if you win it opens up an opportunity later on in life to do the same thing and get in real trouble.  Taking out a loan because obviously you didn't have it in the first place so this will only exasperate it even further.  The old saying is only gamble what you can afford to lose.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are slots hard to understand on purpose? on: December 08, 2023, 10:40:23 PM
If anyone has gotten used to gambling through crypto casinos, it's likely that they've become accustomed to games like dice. With dice everything is crystal clear: You know your winning odds and how much you are going to win if you roll within your target.
However with slots, you never know your win chance. You don't know what increasing your wager or coins does to winning chances and it's generally all so opaque.

Instead of winning chances there's terms like volatility and RTP,  which make little sense unless to the individual gambler. Honestly dice was complicated enough, slots are just too much. Makes me think that it could be on purpose. Players of slots seem to be unlikely to look into these details due to how complicated it is.

Has that been your experience too?

I think inherently they are difficult to understand because there is so much going on.  It's on purpose the lights, pictures and all the different ways ypu can win are all to keep you engaged and have an entertaining time.  But yeah I'm with you I don't play them for that reason.  Sometimes when I thought I won nothing happened and vice versa
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Math and Gambling on: December 08, 2023, 10:00:41 PM
Gambling is known to be a game of pure luck but also probability, that's if you are good at math, this is what a fellow employee said to me, he then told me to look Chris Ferguson up, to my surprise this man won millions in gambling using math, I read this man is really good at math,

He created his own gambling strategy for poker completely on math and game theory instead of trying to focus monitoring the players, this man won five world series bracelets 🤦 and over 8 millions dollars in gambling tournaments.

There is also another man called James Simons, who is named the greatest gambler of all, he made more money using math than Chris Ferguson, James net worth is over 20 billions, I was shocked, because I use to think it's impossible to gamble using any skills, this is a skill on a another level, I am mad that I am just knowing this not too long ago.

School is not important as 96% of what you learn won't be used in the real world to make money, but this 4% left is making a lot of people rich, math and gambling seems to go with each other, what do you guys think? Am I wrong or right?

Poker is a more a sport than gambling.  Yes there are odds (math) that ypu need to kmwo if ypu are gonna win successfully at poker and it can be done.  I put poker in a whole other subject than true gambling like sports betting, slots, roulette etc.  Those you are betting against the house which always has the odds in theor favor and poker ypu are playing against other players.  Huge difference.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run? on: December 07, 2023, 11:55:47 PM
Best practice is just HODL.
Because in an unfortunate case of events, where Bitcoin will go back up, we might miss gains when it really happens when we have sold before.
It is risky to have a miss of profit.
Even if Bitcoin goes down more, it is likely to recover later.
But I would not sell in case Bitcoin goes up right away soon.

Agreed.  If you aremt in the know than hodl is the best form of trading lol.  This of course only holds true for active and promising projects.  If ypu hold things like memecoins for long term ypu will likely end up going down with the ship and lose your whole bag.  In a bear market hold in high cap good coins.  Only gamble in straight no doubt bull markets.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New feature on AltcoinsTalks forum - you can teleport your rank from bitcointalk on: December 07, 2023, 11:53:55 PM
Does anyone have any useful info on the admins of this forum? Who are they and which side they are? I feel bitcointalk has let me down, so I would like to join another forum if it's possible and would like to know about altcoinstalk team.

You won't get the same type of engagement from other open forums.  Knowing this was the original no point in moving on.  What exactly is it that let ypu down.  The problem here mostly has to do with scammers but if you split for another forum and it' gets big same thing will happen there.  Tough to find a place to get the engagement that this forum has.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 07, 2023, 11:51:53 PM
Sorry mate, seems like the home team are holding strong and I won my bet on this game.
That first quarter was the turning point, Cleveland outscored the Magic by 17 points and Magic weren't able to have a big run although they won the 2nd and 4th quarter.
That explosive first half from the Cavs made me accept my bet as a loss. Tongue The Magic did show a bit of hope in the third quarter, but they couldn't maintain it and the Cavs shut the door in the fourth quarter.

The home win from the Clippers was impressive. I thought the Nuggets would keep on rolling after the double-digit lead they built in the first quarter, but the Clippers immediately recovered in the second and even took the lead. The Nuggets almost got it together heading into the fourth quarter, but they missed so many shots.

Cavs are tough to bet against them at home, especially against a young orlando team.  They are hot but I think the right move is going against Orlando for a bit.  Don't think they can continually keep this pace up just yet I expect a pullback.  And yeah I think everyone was shocked at the Denver game but it all fell on jokic missing 22 shots which is insanely out of character for him.  Everyone has those games.  Best know I'm betting on Denver next game.  He won't have 2 duds in a row.
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 07, 2023, 11:48:49 PM
People are accusing Zach LaVine of faking his foot injury to force a trade to the Lakers. He’s even scheduled to return when DiAngelo Russell becomes eligible to be traded. I’m not sure if I believe this, but it is within the realm of possibility. I don’t think Zach LaVine will still be a member of the Chicago Bulls when the trade deadline rolls around.

I don't even think he needs to fake an injury.  Makes it harder for the team to trade him unless ypu mean he is doing it to tank the bulls.  Either way derozen, lavone, etc should all be gone.  Bulls need to blow it all up get mass amount of picks and be bad for a couple years.  No reason dragging this team forward any longer.
636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Money laundering in crypto casino on: December 06, 2023, 11:45:43 PM
We all know the recent issue about the mixer status here in the forum. Crypto casino is also being use for money laundering by some criminals that’s why every casino has AML policy.

I’m just curious what will be the fate of crypto casino once money laundering activity from mixer will jump to casino now that mixer will not be advertised here which means it has less exposure. Is there any possibility that crypto casino will be seized by the government just like what happened to mixers in case they failed to screen the laundering activity?

I mean it's natural for criminals to use Amy method to wash money.  Mixers are easy targets and for the most part there is no legal reason to use them so it's easy Pickens.  For casinos most of it I would imagine is clean money but there isn't much a casino could do.  I couldn't see them being "seized".  It's like brick and mortar casinos, tons of dirty money plays there but there really isn't anything a casino can do.
637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 06, 2023, 11:41:33 PM
For some reason (probably because of the past) I still see Lakers as a dysfunctioning team and not proper team that can win anything. However, when you look at the situation think about it this way when they are at semi finals of in-tournament situation and also the fourth seed type of thing then when we need to think about it then it should be something that would be quite obvious that they are doing better than what I think will be fine, that should be the most important part.

I believe that we should be considering the situation that should be something that would be all that important and if they keep this up then we should be considering the situation as good. If they win this title and do fine at playoffs, then that's a good season overall.

Was nice to see playoff Bron in December I like this tournament.  In a normal regular season game he doest do half of what he did last night.  I'm with you I still think they need another piece.  Possibly a center.  AD plays too much like a small forward.  I wouldn't change his role just think ypu need someone to lock up the paint.
638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 06, 2023, 11:39:23 PM
The Sacramento Kings lost. Ouch! Moving on.

I like those picks @stadus, I think I am tailing that.

Over should be the easy bet, ... But we still have the 2nd half of the game, hopefully Bucks would be able to pull away with a big lead and bring us the "W"...As they say, no big lead is safe as anytime a team could have a big run and beat their opponent with the spreads, Bucks should be able to deliver that to us.

Halftime score. NYK 72 .. Bucks 75.

I expected this game to be the lowest scoring one of the the knock out round, at least at half time, as I've got them on the Under for the first half, but that's a lost cause already.

Despite the being quite physical both teams playing some great defensive plays, I'm extremely surprised by the offensive effectiveness of both teams too, Milwaukee with quite of 3pts shot fall for them, Lillard 4/4 3PT, A.J. Green 3/3 of 3PT as well, the high scoring nature of this fixture is literally about the extremely great scoring percentage from both parties so far.

Perfect storm of the Knicks not shooting any 3s they are real good in the paint and stayed away from bricking tons of 3s early on.  And the flip side Bucks could not miss any 3s.    Without looking I think they shot over 60%.  Knicks fan here was tough to watch with them not being able to stop literally anything.  As it stands I sneaky like the Pacers to win this whole thing.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2023, 12:50:08 PM
Only 2 games tonight but they’re both televised on TNT. The Kings and Pelicans matchup might be a good game to watch if you can tear yourself away from watching a Bitcoin ticker.

With these being in season touny quarterfinals I expect both games tonight and tomorrow to be good.  Should have a playoff type feel to them I'm actually looking forward to the Celtics Pacers game.  With how fast paced and high scoring this game could end up being crazy.   I got Pelicans and Pacers taking tonight's games.

I’ve never been much of a fan of watching the Pacers. I’ve got a special spot for the Kings though having grown up in Sacramento. I’m always on Zion watch as well. Hopefully Zion gets some highlights in and the Kings get to light the beam. Smiley

As a knicks fan I despise the Pacers growing up watching reggie cook the Knicks in msg constantly.  I'm a full Haliburton fan.  Hot take: he will end up being a top 5 player in the league within 3 years.  Dude just cooks.  Couldn't believe when sacramento let him go.  Yeah they got sarongs but Hali is special
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Established Altcoins or new potential coins this bullrun ? on: December 04, 2023, 09:23:05 PM
As we are either in bull run or approaching it I wanted to understand about investment opinions from fellow users as Bitcoin will remain the first choice of investment but if we want more profit we know we have to go ahead with Altcoin for higher profit with higher risk involved. But when it comes to Altcoin would you prefer the established coins like ETH, XRP, Matic, BNB and SOL or wanna give a chance to newbuds which will bloom during this bullrun ? Existing ones who has pumped during last bullrun or new finds ? Which one would be your choice of investment?

I would prefer new Altcoins which is entering bullrun for the first time.

Based on previous runs I'd say that is the correct way to look at it so long as you understand it's insanely more risky and greater probability of going to $0.  Take litecoin, yeah you might not get a mega pump out of it but you also know you won't get rugged buying into it.  For me it's bitcoin and some small gambles on some altcoins which show some promise.
