641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: May 27, 2014, 03:28:54 PM

That's good, but price grow won't be fast due to 'unfair' distribution with early 73 stakeholders. Many of them haven't sold major part of coins curently and they can cut profit at any rate. This reason scares new investors until distribution will be done evenly. There will be only steady and slow grow.

I agree, but I think some of these new features are giving stakeholders a reason to spend, and when gateway's are launched as well as NxtHaus, you will see much more distribution.  Most are holding onto Nxt because they feel the value will eventually reach $1 and won't sell before that.

it is to our community what abortion is to the establishment left and right. Cheesy

Okay, whatever works for you.

Can you think of a more divisive issue?

I've learned long ago that arguing on topics such as GW or abortion with the opposite minded is pointless.  Minds don't change at our age.

Watermelons?

Environmentalists are called watermelons because they are green on the outside but red on this inside.

Thx, slightly confusing, that was.
So, commie, basically ?

Yes, and I would also say just generally aggressive people.  Have you taken a look at Uniqueorn?  I mean, I appreciate his marketing for Nxt, but seriously hostile guy when it comes to disagreeing with him on GW.

Seems like an unproductive topic. If you don't like the asset, don't buy it.  I for one appreciate any asset from valued members of our community.

Can NXT do more?

What features are coming soon?  I know the exchange is up and running now...

What should we expect in the coming months??

So much more to come.  Transparent Forging, Automated Transactions (Turing Complete), Digital and Physical Market, Account Control, Instant Transactions in AE, Multi Gateways for trading BTC (and any other Crypto) for Nxt directly, Voting System, Distributed Computing, NxtHaus, etc...  We are tip of the iceberg right now.

647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Silver Bullion Gateway Gateway Updates and Information on: May 22, 2014, 07:23:45 PM
Anon, what is the largest (in OZ's) silver bar that you can melt down?  I'd like to send some silver but want to make sure I don't send something that won't fit in the oven  Smiley  Thanks.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 200k USD to invest? on: May 22, 2014, 03:32:05 PM
I would avoid throwing money at NXT.  It still hasn't recovered to the capitalization it had back in January / February, largely due to the public being aware of the scam-like distribution.   Anything NxT has isn't proprietary (patented) either so it's generally a bad investment as other coins will take on their best ideas.  The only thing investible in cryptos is community, it's the reason why a $hitclone like Doge is worth more than NxT, Counterpart and Mastercoin.

Not sure if it would merit a full $200K investment but, if I were you, I would try to buy two shares of NEM at the upcoming auction and then at launch purchase more of it.

This coming from a guy that joined crypto after the Nxt IPO, such knowledge!  I'm going to hold an IPO for a coin and sell 1k BTC worth, but I'll disguise my greed as fair distribution.  Please explain how the developer planned to only have 73 people invest in his IPO, which was public and open for a full 2 months.  What a tired argument.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: May 22, 2014, 03:20:24 PM

Gimre, our chief scientist said 1 token divided by 10 should be maximum. The logistics could be a nightmare otherwise. Since you don't code, stop talking like you know about automaton.

Totally agree with this, any more division would be such a headache to deal with on launch.

Looks awesome, good work Anon.  Question about Asset.  Are you selling the silver Asset tokens yourself?  I don't see that you are issuing the Assets in the sell category.  Or am I confused?

No I do not sell them myself. I promised that I would not sell the assets myself so that the people who send me silver for storage have a better chance at making a profit. If you would like to acquire tokens directly from me than you may do so by sending me silver bullion in the mail.

Ah, I see.  Was a little confused by the business model but understand now.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 200k USD to invest? on: May 21, 2014, 11:26:56 PM
$25,000 NXT
$50,000 Ethereum
It really seems like one of these will be a huge winner, maybe 1000%.  Kiss the investment in the other goodbye, but it won't matter because the winner will see huge profits (this is more than a year out though)

$125,000 to Warren Buffet.  Yes, that is blasphemy on this forum, but the guy has a proven track record of making big profits year after year.  Not 100% in a year, but enough to cover a lot of your losses with Ethereum/NXT if for some reason both don't make it.

I think this breakdown is very reasonable.  It is similar to how I am investing and will invest when Ethereum comes out.

+1, the most sense I've seen here in a while.

Dude i often get forums mixed up > so many (apologies Copenhagen)
The facts remain the same > you are fucked up or paid nxt minnow.

You are an idiot. I heard of the name nxt minnow only briefly from these forums and have no contact with him

Though you have to admit, his custom Meme's are pretty awesome.

That doesn't answer my question, sorry. I want to know the ID of some random asset to see how the AE looks like

Here is a list of Assets and Account #'s that you can enter into the client to view the Asset.

655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: May 21, 2014, 07:40:17 PM

As wesley pointed out counterparty, mastercoin and ripple do not list the asset.

Yeah, and no one uses those exchanges. We NEED to bring back the list of Assets, right now the AE is completely useless to a new user.  I can't even find a list of account ID's for the assets.  It's useful to be able to search listed Assets.  Here is a mockup by farl4bit that I think is a great way to organize:

656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sia: Siacoin (scn) and Siastock (stk) on: May 21, 2014, 05:53:04 PM
When you are ready to raise money for the real ipo which you have mentioned should be at least 10x more expensive are you going to continue

using the NXT asset exchange under the same asset? If you do so only now asking for a much higher price than the pre ipo you will have pre ipo asset

holders undercutting your price to make their profit and you will not raise as much. Can you explain what your plan for this is?

I would assume that they will not use Nxt AE as Siastock will be ready to be issued directly to investors at that point.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: May 21, 2014, 03:59:09 PM
Msin is talking about an $100,000,000 IPO of MaidSafecoin that never happened and Ejinte is talking about a member of the community selling over-priced MaidSafecoin to people after IPO.

Huh?  I never said the IPO was at $109Mil.  I clearly state in my post that Maidsafe was being sold at 17k - 1BTC (per the link provided), which assumes a $109Mil MARKETCAP, not IPO.

Sorry but the way I read your post reads it looks like you're implying that the Maidsafe IPO was at $100mil.

It's difficult to realize profits when you buy in at a $100Mil+ Market Cap (at price below).  In my experience, big IPO Crypto's never have good returns.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=592362.0;topicseen

At $6,000,000, the "current" price of $100,000,000 means someone is getting 16 times returns.

How is that making sense with: "big IPO Crypto's never have good returns."

Is 16 times return really that bad?

The marketcap of $109m is clearly incorrect.     Yes, there is 90% of safecoin that still needs to be distributed,  but that is like saying that there remains 50% of BTC that still needs to be distributed.  The market cap of Bitcoin is calculated based on the current 12 million that is already been distributed and not the 21 million that will eventually be distributed.  In the same way,  the current market cap of safecoin is $6million, but eventually (in some distant future) it may be $60 million.

I think it's reasonable to calculate based on 100% distribution.  I certainly am not going to calculate marketcap based on 10% fire sale by founders.  Regardless of specific #'s, I'm referring to potential returns for those that participated in the IPO and why the current price is below that mark.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sia: Siacoin (scn) and Siastock (stk) on: May 21, 2014, 03:44:20 PM
Siastock gives us the potential to have tens of millions and even hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenue. For a single product, this is plenty for me.

Wow, that is a hefty estimate. Then again I really don't have the competence to judge it wrong or right. But what kind of timeframe do you think this could be accomplished in, potentially?

This would be possible if Sia becomes the standard for decentralized crypto storage.  It will take years.

Definitely Nxt AE, Counterparty is so slow.
