The general principle of this PR appointment is to empower the Spokesman to exclusively represent the Core Developers in terms of publicity and to be the only outlet in terms of information disclosure. In this connection, the Spokesman will be publishing detailed PR guidelines from time to time for the parties involved to follow. Below sets out some of them and more will come:
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should neither propose any drastic changes to Bitshares nor speak of their ideas thereof on the forum until extensive research has been done properly, a firm resolution among the Core Developers has been made and the Spokesman grants clearance to the release of that proposal.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should make no comment on any subject on the forum unless approved by and posted through the Spokesman. Bug reports and their discussion should take place on github.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should not disclose sensitive information of potential partnerships, collaborations or arrangement with any other organization unless approved by and communicated through the Spokesman.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should not air their internal discussions or debates on any open issue until all the underlying facts are ascertained, a well-founded conclusion has been drawn, and the Spokesman grants clearance to that disclosure.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should never comment on any other crypto-currency or project on the forum unless approved by and posted through the Spokesman.
The Core Developers (including any member thereof individually) should not answer any question regarding Bitshares’ development or prospect or heed any request to predict anything about Bitshares or give forward-looking comments unless the relevant questions or requests are directed by the Spokesman to the Core Developers and the answers of the Core Developers are approved by and communicated through the Spokesman.
Always keep in mind that anything a Core Developer may say, no matter in the capacity of a Core Developer or a community member, will have potential impact on the market. It’s hard, if not impossible, to cure the damage that could caused.
I cannot f**king believe that someone has managed to come up with this BS, and I cannot believe that any crypto-community would accept this lying down (like good dogs...) This is pure centralised corporatism. So, now we have the Chinese Communists restricting the flow of information to the community with the Western Corporatists giving them the go ahead. I like how Stan, Dan and the Bitshares' team attempts to portray themselves as Libertarians, but then the next thing you know, they're gagging everybody and hiring a PR firm to do all their talking for them. Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought Libertarians believed in free speech. What a complete joke. I thought PR was Stan's job. Does this mean Stan's getting fired? Who decided to hire this PR firm? This is a learning experience as a new form of human organizational structure takes form. You are right, BitShares IS a company. But one unlike the world has ever known.

I guess so...just seems that a phoenix is more of a mascot.  A mascot is cliche as it is associated with Doge. Myself I would rather see new things tried, even if it might be a rehash of real world application. NEM | MEN is a satire; but in some ways, it reinforces the demographic reality here of the current user base and trying to overlap blockchain with other male hobbies isn't the worst idea (one of the better ones) as guys already spend a disproportionate income on their hobbies like weight lifting, sport vehicles, beer, camping, et cetera. Why not just adopt more positive tactics of promoting NEM going forward? Let it stand on it's own. I know you hate Nxt and especially Come from Beyond but BTT is much better when we don't go around making unfounded claims with, presumably, damaging aims. And maybe NEM will benefit from a more positive campaign.

Bitshares is probably the best example of the "best distribution", two guys (until proven otherwise) have this very successful masquerade of 101 delegates which nobody has ever seen or talked with in person and these delegates were acquired through websites they control.  |

Finding the next big thing is already near impossible in life and now that bitcoin already exists, the probability of becoming an overnight millionaire by being an early adopter of another coin is near zero. I know people will say keep trying but I know in my heart bitcoin was my one and only way of becoming a millionaire in life and it was right under my nose. There's a lot more to life than becoming very wealthy, most of the rich people I know are chronically depressed. A lottery winner brought a Rolls Royce, parked it outside the supermarket, and found someone had keyed the paintwork when he came back out. He advised other winners never to par their car anywhere public and expect it to be safe. Other lottery winners have said they got a lot of jealousy from people. No wonder most of the rich people you know are chronically depressed. What rich people do you know unless you live in an elite condominium in Manhattan full of them? Besides who cares about a keyed paintwork. That's why you have 2 cars (or 12+ cars like a lot of lottery winners and/or rich people do) and can put them in the shop if one of the cars gets vandalized. |

Problem with Bitcoin can be all these get quick rich kids. Bitcoin, according to Jeffrey Robinson, is only 250,000 users (and many wallets barely contain any sizable amounts) and yet has a capitalization it is already worth more than many companies around the world which have millions and tens of millions of customers.
That 250,000 figure might not be correct. The truth is we don't know exactly how many Bitcoin users there are but there are indications that the number is higher than 250,000. Freebitco.in has over 1 million accounts. Coinbase alone has over 2 million wallets despite only being available in 19 countries (and even less a few months ago). Since they also implement AML/KYC laws, it would be rather unlikely for users to have multiple wallets there. Blockchain.info has 3 million wallets. I've seen estimates ranging from 250,000 to as high as 10 million: Shalek, the Ribbit Capital partner, told the audience during the closing panel:
"Bitcoin has this promise of enabling innovation. There are already 10 million people or more using bitcoin." Jeffrey Robinson is an objective source and he came to that analysis based on market activity and other documents. I've read allegations that if Dread Pirates and Charlie Shrem were "hodl", instead of selling early and then getting into illegal activity, that they would had made way more money and they wouldn't be behind bars today.
Both Shrem and Ulbrict were doing ok with their money and were earning much more running their businesses whether legal or ilegitimate. Shrem was actually running a legit business but just got caught up in the bad side of it. I'd say there's far more money to be made from bitcoin yet so it would be a good idea to set up a business to aquire as many coins as you can for the future as bitcoin today could be worth peanuts compared to its potential future value. No they weren't. Both had many tens of thousands of Bitcoins and back when Bitcoin was $1000 that would had been way more money than they were collecting (themselves personally) running their businesses. Sure a lot of money went through their two organization but that wasn't their money and it doesn't compared to the prospect if, they were hodl, having $30+ million in the bank. |

The only reason why NXT doesn't move is because it's under promoted, community should be doing more to get members in. We don't even have a NXT thread on Bitcointalk. Someone should make one.
