661  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who should own a demo account? on: November 27, 2023, 03:04:32 PM
There is no restriction to who can own a Demo trading account, a new trader or an expert trader. I know many traders may feel like they are now bigger than demo accounts, and only new traders should have demo accounts for demo trades, but I think that to avoid losses still, expert traders should also have demo accounts for trying out new strategies before they try it live. What do you think?
It's ok to own a demo account as a beginner for practice but it's not a wise thing to do for someone who has become profitable trading their strategies. What's the need for it? We don't expect a professional driver to still be taught driving, do we? The only time I guess professional traders should use demo accounts is when they're testing new strategies. Otherwise, reverting to demo when one's already earning is a complete retrogression. How does one move forward by constantly looking back. Demo trading is looking backward for profitable traders.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we got new CEO of Binance on: November 27, 2023, 10:15:46 AM
A company need to do replacement immediately once their former CEO got affected for many serious controversy so that it can't disrupt their operation and it continue to serve their clients who's still using their services.
Those who didn't respect CZ Binance before now should find this as a reason to respect his business acumen. By resigning immediately he was indicted by SEC for money laundering charges actually saved the day and that's why we haven't seen that expected dip in BNB or other associated projects to the Binance enterprise. The lack of this initiative was what aided the liquidation of Sam Ben Fried's FTX. If SBF had resigned immediately his saga came up, we can bet that FTX wouldn't have been washed up.

Quote
.
But I don't think CZ will totally go away with Binance since for sure they still have a control on developments of this exchange, Maybe he just decide to step out so he can focus to fight back the possible cases that might filled to him.
CZ mentioned it that he would be available for expert consultation if the Binance team needed him. He will still be there.
663  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can we avoid tax on crypto trading in india on: November 27, 2023, 08:28:14 AM
So I just wanted to know is there any possible way to avoid tax on crypto trading in india any kind of process through which we can trade cryptos and avoid tax on trading Crypto because the if we pay 30% tax it's almost 1/3(One third) of our profit and if government ask for less tax we could have pay happily bus 30% tax is alot.
I also think 30% is a lot. Whoever it was that arrived at that percentage in your country must've been a hell of a person/people. How do you tax someone 30% on their earning? Invariably, what you're saying is that I earn 100,000 Rupee and then I'm forced to part with 33,000 Rupee to the state? That's crazy, if you asked me. I just don't want to believe that but then I don't actually know what obtains in your country. Tax is supposed to be a single digit. 30% is double digit.

On trading, I think profit is taxed as regular income deductable at withdrawal. If one is successful at trading, one wouldn't worry about tax on it though I still insist that 30% is a hell of a figure.
664  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty Manager isn't accountable. on: November 27, 2023, 06:07:01 AM
~
Indeed, I have to admit that this is also a mistake that I may not have thought about until this far, but thank you for your advice that this is indeed the reality of what is happening, and there is no denying it other than having to wait and accept this reality.
It's good that you're already learning from your mistakes. Most of us the high ranked members also passed through that sad experience. I ain't sure that's going to end anytime soon. Criminals will continue to explore that option in bounties to hoodwink investors who come here to pick projects they put their money on. The best thing is to steer clear of bounties that don't pay with well established alts. If they're paying with their own unlisted coins, they may renege on that later.

~
Meanwhile, if we go to the official telegram of the project, we have also done this, and even several colleagues have actually been banned from the official telegram because they keep asking about the whereabouts of the Bounty Manager, who doesn't appear. Of course, it's difficult to ask anything else. Just to ask about the existence of the Bounty Manager, our account was banned.
Yes, there's often a stern warning for hunters not to ask anything relating to bounties in the official TG handles of these projects and that's so investors don't find out when things go wrong with the projects. The handlers are always ready to ban anyone asking in the group. That's why.
665  Other / Meta / Re: DT1 and DT2 Explained - Gods of Bitcointalk on: November 26, 2023, 11:58:28 PM
By the way, I thought The Sceptical Chymist is a DT1 member? Was the default setting tweaked? For me, he's in DT1. QED.

This made me pause for a second. To start with, I really never knew what the word "DT" meant in the first place, not until now,
Don't get it twisted. It means Default Trust.

Those who are reading my post, please let me know if it works and you became excited after reading all that and now want to buy the token at all costs Grin.
Yes, prophet! I'm much thrilled and excited. Definitely, I'm selling my balls and all my legs and arms to invest in that project! I should hurry up before offer closes 🏃

You know, I had to check your first paragraph twice to be sure I read right until I read the second paragraph to realize the sarcasm. Nice one, you almost got me there. Just like I'm going to get others too 🤪.

As a rule, any project that has "Bitcoin" attached to it losses my interest. I learned to make that rule from past horrible experiences with Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Green, Bitcoin White and all those trash. I invested and lost money in most of them as I chased hype, thinking the name attached had anything to do with the real Bitcoin. I was ignorantly excited investing in them. Not anymore will I dream of trying such again.
667  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If i have 1k how to trade future on: November 26, 2023, 09:02:29 PM
If ihave 1k how much to use margin for safe trade

To hold position for say two days

And which safe laverage to use
If you're asking this type of question, it presupposes that you don't have a grip of what Futures trading is. In simple term (and in layman's understanding), Futures is Forex trading of cryptos. If you hate forex trading, you should avoid Futures. It will shake your heart and upset your peace of mind the way you never would've imagined to the point you're likely to tag it gambling. I would rather you went for Spot trading. Just buy the regular way and hodl, especially now that the market is rallying up. With spot trading you don't lose your capital except the project scams. The worse is that your capital dips but Futures isn't that way. You can lose your entire capital without the project scamming. Well, I hope my advice helps. I just thought I should drop that so you know how dangerous Futures trading is to a greenhorn.
668  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty Manager isn't accountable. on: November 26, 2023, 03:50:07 PM
OP, you're indeed to be blamed if it eventually turns sour and the said manager didn't fulfil his promise to you and your fellow bounty hunters. Learn a lesson and move on. You enrolled under a low ranked account which has virtually nothing to lose even if red tagged. Everything is yours to lose. It's even a big risk to enroll in bounties run by established members let alone a manager who isn't recognized on the forum yet. Bounty payment wasn't even escrowed and it's also run by a greenhorn here. Wasn't that a red flag for you?

The discussion is about the payments not being made by the BM, this topic should be moved to the Reputation board
You're right. It's either Reputation Board or Scam Accusations Board that suits what OP is laying bare here. Good a thing it has been moved now. For next time, others bringing this type of complaint should take note and know that those two boards are the relevant places to post them.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: withdraw Litecoin from exchange on: November 25, 2023, 06:18:30 PM
I wanted to withdraw Litecoin from one exchange and the only network available is bep20...
It's good that we put a name to corporations behaving in such a confusing and scam-looking manners so that other users or those who intend getting on such exchanges can easily be alerted to these hiccups. I just checked Binance a few minutes ago to see if it was the culprit, but it came out clean on that. I wonder what exchange that could be.

Quote
btw is LTC still the best option to use for withdrawals?
Yes, it is. Both withdrawal charges and daily limit are more favourable to those utilizing the main Litecoin option.

If you want to deposit BEP20, look for an exchange with more than one blockchain, including the BEP20 blockchain. As soon as you deposit, you can withdraw with other blockchains
Most exchanges don't restrict that much when accepting deposits. They're literally relaxed in their rules but they tighten their grips when withdrawals are ask for. OP's issue is withdrawal, BTW.
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run? on: November 25, 2023, 03:03:35 PM
2021 and 2022 were bad for both Bitcoin and altcoins. There was no upward movement except for short rallies.
Yes, altcoins disappointed and didn't follow up its usual trajectory of mooning once Bitcoin is done with its rally. For Bitcoin, I wouldn't say it didn't perform well in 2021 after recording its ATH. Maybe, 2022 wasn't that good for Bitcoin but that's expected. It's just the same way we've to expect 2026/27 not to be a rosy time for Bitcoin and the general market.

~
Next year's ATH and bull run will be my first experience in cryprocurrency, I'm really looking forward to it, because I can hardly wait to cash in on my crypto investment.
I hope you're looking forward to it with some kind of investment in it. It's going to be a rollercoaster kind of thing once the main bull rally begins. It was crazy in the past how price moved and I don't expect anything less this coming rally. Brace up for it. My expectation is that Bitcoin will do $120k+. Yeah, I know it sounds unbelievable now but then, it had never been believed until it happened.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: When Was the Last Time you Came Across a Positive Economic News? on: November 25, 2023, 12:09:02 PM
Can't we just catch a break and have some good economic news for once?
There are of course, good news. It's just that negative news linger longer in the memory than good news and that's why it seems like we are more flooded with bad news than the good ones. Again, bad news is promoted more by bloggers and content creators because they drive more traffic to their sites than good news.

But you yourself can filter and carefully check what is presented to you in the news.
How does one do that, knowing that news just hit us in our living rooms or space without soliciting our permission? We aren't talking of social media here where we select what sites to visit or not, are we? I mean, one can be watching Bloomberg and be enjoying its content and bang, out from nowhere it flashes breaking news on some FUD on Bitcoin dumping or some whales getting hacked wallet wise or to death or something else like that. You get my drift?

People are now reluctant to listen to the news or sit to get information's about their country in the TV. I can attest to that.
... especially, if those people are from countries where the political landscape has been messed up with brazen and shameless corruption like ours. Honestly, I can't remember when I watched TV too. It's tiring to watch or listen to news and get to constantly hear of several funds always being awarded to various projects and you instinctively realize or dismissively conclude that it's just a way of government settling its loyalists and not that the funds will be for any form of true infrastructural development. It's often "money for the boys."
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you foresee crypto payments going mainstream soon? Why or why not? on: November 25, 2023, 07:13:01 AM
Do you believe crypto payments are on the verge of becoming mainstream in the near future?
I like how you stylishly didn't limit payment option to Bitcoin alone but to the entire crypto industry. Anyway, to put it mildly, even if cryptocurrency were to be adopted as a mainstream payment option, it's more likely not going to be Bitcoin as it were now. Apart from its transaction fees being very high whenever the Blockchain is clogged up, Bitcoin supply is small and that's going to make it scarcer than it's already.

673  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and War Crimes? on: November 24, 2023, 01:23:06 PM
~
When the pandemic first appeared and went viral, Bitcoin experienced a decline, but if we look at the graph, Bitcoin also experienced an increase and even headed towards ATH during the pandemic and lockdown at that time. In my opinion, Bitcoin is able to survive in any conditions, even war.
If anything, I think Bitcoin did fantastically well around the COVID-19 era if we had to draw a comparison of it with the entire global financial situation then. Yes, the fact that it went all up and did an unbelievable ATH of $68k+ in 2021 as against its 2017 ATH is  evidence that Bitcoin is a phoenix, rising from such death. From my observation, nothing seems to make Bitcoin remain down once its period for the bull rally is at hand. It's the same thing we face currently, even with the news from Binance of the money laundering charges against its CEO, CZ, nothing seems to have unfazed Bitcoin. Today, price went up again and it's currently at $37,700+, having done around $400 in addition since news broke of his arrest two days ago. Such news is capable of dipping Bitcoin if it were released wrongly or during a bear market.
674  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weak or wise? on: November 24, 2023, 08:34:24 AM
Do you accept to be a weak trader or a wise trader when you exit a trade taking some profit, but not the entirety of what you want on your TP?
For me, it goes two ways and that will depend on what the said trader sees before exiting. If he's exiting because he doesn't want to lose the little profit he has made and not because his technicals are telling him to exit, then he's weak. He has an issue with his emotion and should put it to check. Emotion is the big killer when it comes to trading. However, if he's exiting because he spotted a change in the direction of the market; then it's a wise decision. That's why I said it's a two-way thing.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacks in November on: November 24, 2023, 07:26:34 AM
Seems hacking incidents this month are really huge! Do you think this is one of the many signs that we are already in the bull run?
Definitely, of course, that's an obvious sign that the bull run is here. No one throws stones at unripe fruits on trees. There's a local saying that the easiest way to know that a tree has ripe fruits on it is to look at its foot and the evident of stones cast will be there. That's what's happening now in the crypto space. Scammers, hackers are on the loose now and are all trying to grab whatever they can lay their hands on. We hardly hear of these criminals during a bear market.

By the way, I didn't know that Poloniex was still operational. It used to be a big exchange in the past.

There is only one temptation for BTC, can we hold the minimum for 10 years?
Hodling for 10 years straight is a tall order in my estimation. Only a few (very few) can do that and those few must be people of substantial means of income or are already affluent. As for those wallets that have been idle for a decade I believe some of the owners have lost their PKeys and can't assess those wallets. Otherwise, how can someone hodl for that long without taking profits during post halving years? For me, I can hodl for half of every circle and that's two years. I don't have the patience for a long wait.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: investing a money on: November 23, 2023, 11:09:48 AM
Let's assume we have a) $5000 b) $10000 c) $15000 to invest, what do you suggest?
If that's everything you've got in any of the options listed, I suggest you take out 10% for your upkeep and then invest 80% of the 100% that's set aside into Bitcoin. Let the remaining percent be ployed into altcoins, and that's if you want to have your investment in cryptos. Otherwise, there are various offline businesses one can get into with that kind of cash besides other online businesses too.

Bitcoin remains the safest crypto investment, especially around this period now with its halving in sight. It's a bullish momentum for Bitcoin, going forward.
678  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Aptos Fake/Scam Airdrop Site on: November 23, 2023, 04:48:53 AM
~snipped~
My own cousins get more  than 10k$ in front of me and you are saying that Airdrop ear is gone. You confused me now because I joined many airdrops and also make transaction in some new chains for airdrops. My own cousins get 3k$ from Arbitrum airdrop, 1000$ from Aptos and also 3k from SUI token in the last 2 years. My other friends also get more than 2k in the last 2 years.
You should've been in cryptos during the years I mentioned, perhaps you would've understood my comment better. By the way, those airdrops you mentioned didn't happen this year. You can check two years ago and what's happening now to reflect on what happened during the era I alluded to. I ain't saying people don't get anything at all off airdrops now, what I'm saying is that it's going down in benefit.

Quote
I am using new wallet when I join any airdrop.
If you use separate wallet for every airdrop you participate in, it means you're going to mess something up somewhere along the line. You will also have a complete notebook for jotting your numerous passphrases. It's a bore.

680  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: November 21, 2023, 10:16:31 PM

I still believe that HOLDING is much better than trading. As you can see in the provided image, holding for the long term involves less stress and risk compared to trading, where you could potentially lose your investment. Successful holders outnumber successful traders. However, it doesn't mean holding is without challenges.
You may be right in this regard, considering that we're referring to hodling Bitcoin here. On the long run, its most likely to pay off than trading. However, it's more enjoyable an experience to hodl Bitcoin from a year to its halving through to its post halving year and then sell off after that to rebuy during the bear season. Those who hodl all through the circle don't make as much profit from the exercise as those who hodl with precision as I suggested. As for trading, we know there are just very few who are profitable from it. Many who engage in trading only give back funds to the market.
