6681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimizing variance on dice over X number of bets on: September 14, 2020, 07:08:33 AM
Why are you asking that?

I don't see the point in minimizing variance.

By minimizing it, the only thing you can be sure of is that you will lose money.

If there is more variance, you are more likely to make money, although you are also more likely to lose more than you would by minimizing the variance.

As I say, I don't see it.

For me the best way is not to play EV- games. That way, you reduce the variance to 0 and make sure you don't lose money.

It depends. What's your main goal in joining this forum in the first place? If you've been in other online forums in the past, it's pretty much the same. You ask questions, you discuss, you debate, or you could simply just read and not post anything, etc.

I was going to say this.

It is curious that this question is raised in this forum. In any forum you register because you are interested in the topic and want to exchange impressions.

OP just needs to use the forum and  he will see.

There isn't a way to use the forum that leads to have the best experience.

6685  Other / Meta / Account farming with low value posts? on: September 09, 2020, 10:05:14 AM
I was reading this thread and I had the feeling that patow, thekindpersone and 2ingoin are the same person. The same activity, no merit, effortless posts, all the posts in the off topic section...

I've googled the subject and I've seen that account farming is allowed but in this case it wouldn't be (source).

What do you think? Should I report this? Feel free to report if you want.
6686  Other / Meta / Re: Allow newbies with merit to post images on: September 09, 2020, 06:56:22 AM
I don't see the point. I was a newbie until recently. I tried to post an image and couldn't. Then I googled and found out I wasn't going to be able to until I reached junior member (or until I bought copper membership). I waited for a while and became junior member so I started posting images.

I imagine this was set this way to avoid trolling/spamming.

Images are not crucial for this forum, it doesn't matter that some newbies have to wait a little bit to post images.
6687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Over A Billion $ in Bitcoin And I Cant get in on: September 08, 2020, 09:54:02 AM
for your information, blockchain.info (which is not using .com) didn't exist when the first address received its first transaction. the company was created more than a year later Wink

I have also seen many millionaires on this forum claiming to have locked crypto wallets that they cannot access, but also that each of them is asking for donations - I do not believe this is a coincidence.

It doesn't smell good. In addition, OP's password was changed recently. It smells like a scam.
6688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Over A Billion $ in Bitcoin And I Cant get in on: September 08, 2020, 08:08:44 AM
Supposing that the story is true, I don't understand how people can put such a huge amount of eggs in one basket. We see it frequently, people claiming that they have a lot of BTC that they had in one wallet.

If I had just one million, not one billion, just one million, I would have it in three or four different wallets and not more than one would be a web wallet. I would have the keys hidden in different places as well.
OP has three addresses, is that not enough? This is a lesson learned for me because this could be me if I am not careful with my wallets, hope you can claim them and give us an update if you can.

He has three addresses in Blockchain web wallet, which is as having one. Someone more sensible would have one there, another in a Trezor and another in a Ledger Nano. Most importantly, he would have the keys safely stored in different places, but he is saying he was 18 at the time so it's not so surprising.

Out of curiosity I've looked at OP's trust and I've seen that he's tagged many forum members as Chinese Communists. WTF? I don't know about the others but I've read The Pharmacist on the Economics section and he doesn't look to me like a communist at all.

OP doesn't have any credibility.

I won't be surprised if he also tags me as a Chinese Communist now.
6692  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: bank account freeze by cyber crime after trade in localbitcoins on: September 08, 2020, 06:11:14 AM
In this case, you can only wait for the investigation to be resolved. I would like to tell you that if you have not done anything wrong, don't worry. But I would be worried if I had not done anything wrong and my account was frozen.

Just be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful, as Buffet said.

6696  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Increase your sexuality with ginger and tumeric. on: September 06, 2020, 08:55:59 AM
This topic suits for me. I need to boost my testosterone level, we have only a child and his now 11, i research everything to boost my testosterone, i take vitamins what they, now i will try ginger, im looking for the vitamins ashwagandha but cant find it in my country.

None of those herbs is going to significantly boost your test levels.

The main effect for men's sexuality of ginger and turmeric is they improve blood flow. With better blood flow you have better erections. But that's it. If you are over 40 you can only aim for your T levels to not decrease too much but the only way to get them to the same level as when you were 20 (or a little bit higher) is to get Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

I talked about that on another thread.

6698  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 04, 2020, 08:29:59 AM
No troll said this today?

6699  Other / Meta / Re: Should Bitcoin Wall Observer thread be deleted? on: September 04, 2020, 08:01:40 AM
id say the majority of merit being holed up and distributed within a single thread is pretty harmful  Undecided

Most threads last a day or two at most. That thread has been going on for years, so your categorical statement does not make sense.
6700  Other / Meta / Re: Should Bitcoin Wall Observer thread be deleted? on: September 04, 2020, 06:40:12 AM
But on that thread signatures are not displayed so I don't think they are getting paid for their posts there.

A question for veteran members: did that thread change a lot since the merit system was introduced? If so, it means OP is right, if not, OP is wrong.

Asking WO members to prove themselves guilty is quite a pointless task dont you think  Tongue

I'm not asking just WO members. I am asking all veterans.
