681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: want to start mining on: December 13, 2015, 12:48:43 PM
Mining with PC is no longer possible and/or profitable, your friend will end up wasting a lot of time and electricity and in the end the only thing he'll get is a burned motherboard. Mining requires quite a investment and then you have to spend some more money on electricity. Its better to buy bitcoin instead of spending so much money on mining equipment.
682  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITCOIN SPORTS BETTING SITE RANKINGS - USER GENERATED on: December 11, 2015, 02:53:33 PM
Directbet is still No.1 Sportsbook for me, there isn't a day when I don't bet there.

Also, I have a question and I thought I'd ask it here because this thread is all about sportsbooks and I don't want to open a thread for just one question but other than DirectBet which Bitcoin Sportsbooks have Live betting on Cricket and Tennis?
683  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Caution: Bitstarz Casino! on: December 11, 2015, 02:06:48 PM
You must be referring to this, right?

https://www.bitstarz.com/promotions

Click on the 'Terms and Conditions' and read it.

I think they made it pretty clear in their bonus terms that a player might be asked to provide KYC information and will be required to deposit 0.01 before the funds will be available for withdrawal. If you have completed the wagering requirement then just complete their requirements and withdraw your money.

Usually all the bonus at any casino comes with certain requirements be it deposit/no-deposit which needs to be filled and if a player does not agree to the terms, He/she is free to not apply for the bonus.

When you signed up, you agreed to these terms.

Also, just because your girlfriend's friend or who ever got her withdrawal by complaining on the forums and black mailing the casino, doesn't mean you should too. I think it was mistake of the casino that they allowed her to withdraw without completing the terms (i.e. if we go by her words that she didn't deposited and/or provided the KYC) but just because they made a mistake once, doesn't mean they will keep repeating it.
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: December 10, 2015, 01:59:07 PM
Usually people use 2 type of wallets, depending on their need. You can have as many as you want but they fall in these 2 categories.

1. First is for Cold-Storage and it includes your Paper-Wallets, Hardware Wallets (Trezor, etc.), Offline wallets (Wallets like Electrum, Core etc. but they stay on an offline machine) and these are basically used to store and safe keeping of larger amount of Bitcoins.

2. Second are your Hot-Wallets, which include Desktop wallets (such as Electrum, Multibit, Core, etc.), Phone Wallets (Mycelium, Copay, etc.), Online wallets (Blockchain.info, Green Address etc.) and last but not the least, wallet service providers (Coinbase, Xapo, etc.) and these are used for your day-to-day bitcoin spending needs.

685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange for dogecoin? on: December 09, 2015, 01:02:11 PM
There is also an instant exchange called ShapeShift.io, the exchange rate might be little lower from the traditional exchanges mentioned above, although it varies from time to time but the convenience of using it makes up for it as you don't need to make any accounts or register anywhere, just have a dogecoin address, enter it and they will provide a bitcoin address to send BTC to, send the bitcoins you want to get exchanged and after the transaction receives 1 confirmation, you'll see your dogecoin in your wallet.

They also have other altcoins which can be inter-exchanged instantly. Check it out, I use it anytime I need to exchange my altcoins to bitcoins or vice versa.
686  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I will pay you bitcoins for Mobiles top up - PLEASE NO illegal Top ups accepted on: December 09, 2015, 12:45:52 PM
Hi,

if you can send mobile top ups pm me, Note: if you charged back i will never deal with u. (Payment after receiving the top up)

I'm paying : 90%

(Got lots of clients!)

Thank u.

You can use https://www.bitrefill.com/ to recharge prepaid mobile phone numbers, they provide this service for almost all the prepaid services to over 140 countries and they're legit. You will get your refill as soon as the transaction has 1 confirmation. There are other similar services but BitRefill's rate are usually cheaper.

Other than that I don't think anyone will provide you mobile recharges for 10% discount, its usually 1-1 and even if someone does, they shouldn't send first because afaik there are no charge backs with mobile refills.

And OP neither should you, an escrow should be used but because these would be small trades, website suggested above or similar should be used because they're a lot convenient.
687  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info on: December 08, 2015, 01:14:16 PM
Blockchain.info is not affected in this way. They allow users to export private key which would give the user full access to the funds even if they are down. They don't have your unencrypted private key in the first place.

Good to know that.  Granted that a user had exported his private key, how would he access his wallet while site is down? And can he still send the funds to another wallet?

If you have the keys, you can import it into any other wallet like, Core, Electrum etc. and take hold of your funds.
688  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info on: December 08, 2015, 12:57:28 PM
Blockchain.info wallet is no longer listed at the recommended wallets list at the https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet, they were listed there at one time but they were removed, surely they must have done something wrong which caused their removal. That should be enough to make people understand that its not safe, you can keep a small amount of bitcoins there but even that is at risk and why take any risks when there are so many other safer options available.
689  Economy / Services / Re: Catpcha Typing Job! Easy $2-$5/day on: December 07, 2015, 01:08:02 PM
The Pay is not much but as OP said, its better than what faucets pay, I don't want to do it but it will surely be better for newbies who waste a lot of time on faucets only to earn few cents for which they pay huge fees when they try to spend it because of all the small inputs. I just hope it is legit and everyone who works their fingers off, get paid.
690  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Why faucets are NOT worth your time on: December 07, 2015, 01:01:32 PM
It is obvious, even without the thorough analysis that they're not worth the effort. They look easy for the newbies to earn a few satoshis, when they're just starting with Bitcoin but they realize it soon enough that they're a waste of time. Also the satoshis you earn from these are in so many small inputs that they increase the fee size and you loose even more when you try to spend them.
691  Economy / Gambling / Re: JETWIN.ps ___ ✔✔✔ $35 Free Bonus - no deposit required ✔✔✔ ___ on: December 07, 2015, 12:53:18 PM
In 2014 I opened an account at jetwin and deposited 300 mBTC on which I received 100% bonus. I then placed around 20 bets and after that let the account dormant. When I try to log in now, I can't get inside getting an error "Your account is currently blocked". I tried contacting the CS via email, but received no response for now 3 months. What should I do?

Only support can probably re-activate it, don't know what their policy is but I had an account which I didn't use for some time and when I tried to log in, it showed error, I then contacted support and received immediate response and I was able to access it again. Wait till you hear from BOOKMAKER on this thread, he'll probably be able to resolve it. Not sure but I am guessing that you'd be required to sign a message probably with an address you deposited the BTC from.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 06, 2015, 06:51:55 PM
-snip-

Anything can happen tomorrow ,, All depends upon the two set main batsmen ,, Amla and ABD ... I have huge bet on DRAW .

Your huge bet is going to bring you huge returns if you placed it when the odds were out of the ground because it looks like this match is going to Draw. The pitch looks like its dead now and SA has still 8 wickets in hand and they're playing smartly, they're gonna survive tomorrow quite easily IMHO.

693  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can I find this person? on: December 06, 2015, 01:57:21 PM
He's looking for someone to send him signals on when is it good to buy and sell and OP the buying part is difficult to predict the selling part comes after and it's always ok to sell when the price is better than what you bought it for and even the best of the traders make mistake. So unless you really know what you're doing just don't try to depend on others to gamble for you.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Encouraging people to adopt Bitcoin. on: December 06, 2015, 01:52:43 PM
Well I don't think the shopkeepers around me are ready to start accepting bitcoins or any other payment method for that matter right now because for the simple fact they prefer taking cash but I am encouraging the people I know, be it my friends, family, colleagues to start buying Bitcoin and the recent surge in the price really helped to get their attention. And I know it's probably not a good idea to portray Bitcoin to them just as an investment but this way atleast I am able to get them interested and then I can tell them the other advantages of it.
695  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockBets.com | 100% Blockchain Multi-Player Bitcoin, Altcoin Game | Shapeshift on: December 05, 2015, 06:03:40 PM
Kind of interesting, once you understand how it works i.e. I had to re-read it twice and I still don't think I get it completely but guess one has to play a few rounds to see how it works. But good thing is you thought of something new instead of following the herd. GL with your site.
696  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: send message to the btc address on: December 05, 2015, 12:04:13 PM
I am sure it is possible but it hasn't been created yet possibly because there is not much use of it, there are so many E-mail/IM services already there and if you're thinking about anonymity and/or making sure that you're talking to the person you really intended to talk to and no one else, then PGP solves that.
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Double spend Problem! Please help me on: December 04, 2015, 11:38:43 AM
there are still some attacks on the network, where bad people forward your transaction with a different tx id trough the network (malleability attack), this caused the "error" you are seeing on blockchain.info.

You bitcoin client (core in that case) should sort this out after a few new blocks. (So just wait for more conformation as one of the tx will be dropped if the other will stay).

If it won't sort out itself you can perhaps also try to -rescan your wallet.

Hope that helps

Shouldn't the Bitcoin Core's latest version which was patched for this sort of attack stop this? Or maybe OP is using the older version Bitcoin Core.

Which version are you using OP?

And if you notice the two transactions they have different fees. It's not possible for the attacker to change the fees, the first one has a very low fees. I don't think this was the malleability attack. But can't say what happened.

Thx

Btw, a little off-topic but I received 100 gld from you long time back and I was going to hodl them and add more (that was the plan) but I lost access to them along with some other altcoins when I by mistake overwrite the disc containing all the keys. If you see my previous address (it was posted in the original thread I think) it'll still have those 100 GLD and they'll stay there forever.

700  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: December 04, 2015, 10:55:20 AM
Why are these people posting here to apply? Did they changed any rules regarding application?

Because afaik you only need to change your signature, have you address in your profile and go to their signature link presented in OP and enter your profile ID and it will show "Active" if you're in. If it doesn't then maybe there aren't any slots available.
