6981  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Online Bitcoin Wallets? on: October 03, 2014, 05:22:00 AM
I think there are no online wallets currently. If you want to migrate from Blockchain because of their maintenance, please be patient, it will be fixed soon!

The tweet by Blockchain is below. This tweet was 12 hours before, so I think it will come soon. Smiley

6984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Question about private keys on: October 03, 2014, 05:00:11 AM
I think you are taking what Danny Hamilton said out of context.
This thread started off with an improper contrast with importing to Bitcoin-Qt, which is also equally dangerous.
He is correct that importing to bitcoind is not more dangerous.
But it remains dangerous no matter what wallet you import to.

What exactly is dangerous about importing a private key into a wallet?

He may be pointing out the privacy problem. But.. That line should be removed or atleast make it correct. It is somewhat like spreading false news and it would be really bad as it is in BTC wiki. Roll Eyes

that is absolutely hillarious that they didn't pay a small fee to move all that money lol. Would take forever to be verified wouldnt it?

I think you are correct sir. Why are they doing this? Will they get something when they do this?

Check the posts above yours. Roll Eyes

I know that's not the solution that you are looking for but apparently Towelroot allow you to root your Note 10.1 without triggering Knox's counter (at least on Android 4.4.2).

I'm not trolling mate, it just seems like this campaign might be taking advantage of newbies. There are so many scams in these forums, I just want to see more people living up to the promises they make. It's the best thing for the community.

He's been good about paying out bonuses to compensate for late payments. This is a good thing!

But the bad things are that this campaign is terribly organized, there is very little communication, and people are joining and leaving and posting that they don't know what to expect. All this could be fixed with clear communication about what is going on.

For example, 4-10 day pay period is so fluid and arbitrary. Why not make it a static week. Or every two weeks, like the 15th and 30th/31 of every month. It would add stability and let people know what to expect.

As far as I can tell, the last payment was 9/19? That makes the next payment due 9/23-9/29, so it's between 9 and 3 days late because of the crazy pay period.

Not knowing what to expect is not a good thing in the bitcoin world because of how much scamming there is. My biggest suggestion is to give clear expectations for your enrollees and some stability. Maybe take on someone who's sole job is to organize this campaign and pay them a small fee for doing the work.

But I'm not trolling mate. I would join this campaign myself if it was organized better or I knew what to expect.

Smiley . I have sent Lighlord a PM. He will reply here soon. AND, from next period on-wards, I may be in-charge and will try my best to make this campaign better and stable. Thanks for your feedback! Smiley

6991  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: October 02, 2014, 05:51:47 PM
BitStars.net added, thank you guys for telling me. I have decided to keep Ponzi's and HYIP in this overview thread, because sed make some valid points and I don't want to risk my credibility, so yeah.

NastyFans' Signature campaign is for NastyFans Seat Owners only. These places are either brought or gifted (if I am not mistaken) and most people that come here don't have a seat. Not sure if I should add them because the payment is one NastyPool lottery ticket, which will get you BTC IF you win. Seeing that you get one of these per accepted P2Pool share, they are pretty worthless. What do you guys think? Add them or not?

As it is BTC related, I think it is good to add them. It is users decision whether to join or not but it can be added here. Roll Eyes

The original post hasn't been updated in at least two weeks, despite promises of weekly payments.

The list of enrollees has not been updated in at least two weeks, people who have "enrolled" have no way of knowing if they are actually enrolled.

There is no confirmation for enrollees, they're just told to use the signature and trust that you're enrolled and will be paid.

People have confirmed that they have used a signature for a week and were not paid.

OP has a history of paying late when he was paying, but because the top post hasn't been updated since the enrollment period that started over three weeks ago, there's no way to know if OP is still intending to pay all the people promoting his site.

OP is running a signature campaign but can't be bothered to check in with or update the people who are promoting his site for him.

Come on guys, you need to demand responsibility from these guys. Don't promote his site for free or allow him to treat you this way. He has broken the terms of his contract with you. Someone should be explaining where you all stand, and they should be held responsible when they don't live up to their end of the bargain.

You joined now and start trolling? Huh He will PAY. It is 4-10 days period not weekly. And OP has said that, you can join the campaign, you will get your payment even if you aren't in the enrollees' list. I hope you understand this! Smiley

Try to download and install this custom recovery : http://techerrata.com/bigbiff/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-lt03ltexx.img.tar . After that, download flashable zip from https://www.cerberusapp.com/download.php . And flash it through recovery mod. Roll Eyes I hope this helps!

P.S. You will have to extract TWRP file before copying to Tab and then flash it because only .zip file can be used for flashing. Smiley

6994  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Zebra faucet - get up to 1000 satoshi every hour! Over 46 BTC paid on: October 02, 2014, 04:29:27 PM
Bitcoin Zebra has reached its 6 months anniversary, during which time we have paid out over 46 BTC in total to our loyal users!!!

We now offer you 2 different options for receiving payment of your Bitcoin Zebra earnings (faucet payouts, multiplier winnings and referral commission)...

1) Weekly payment direct to your bitcoin wallet (same as before)
2) Immediate payment direct to your Xapo online wallet

SPECIAL XAPO PROMOTION
To celebrate this new payment option we are giving a massive 25% bonus on all faucet payouts made to your Xapo online wallet.
The extra 25% will be added on to your normal payout automatically when you feed the zebra every hour
Additionally any NEW Xapo wallets opened via Bitcoin Zebra will receive a one-off 5,000 satoshi (50 bits) bonus credit!

This promotion runs from now until the end of October 2014.

We have also significantly increased the general faucet payout average for ALL users - currently the average payout is around 460 satoshi every hour (the average amount paid is variable and is adjusted automatically as the bitcoin value increases or decreases)

See http://faucet.bitcoinzebra.com for details

It is nice to partnership with Xapo. But... What about this: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-company-xapo-facing-mounting-customer-complaints/ ?

I'm assuming you probably changed your trust depth in your trust settings. Go back and change it 2 or 3 or whatever you had it before.

THANKS ALOT guys!

It was on default trust but the dept was 0, i changed it back to 3 now seems fine!

Trust depth 3 is okay. But I would suggest using depth 2. Roll Eyes You can easily guess why. Roll Eyes

6996  Other / Bitcoin Wiki / Some changes need to be done. on: October 02, 2014, 02:39:41 PM
Some changes need to be done.

In the bitcoin wiki about private keys (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Private_key), there is the following warning,

In contrast, bitcoind provides a facility to import a private key without creating a sweep transaction. This is considered very dangerous, and not intended to be used even by power users or experts except in very specific cases. Bitcoins can be easily stolen at any time, from a wallet which has imported an untrusted or otherwise insecure private key - this can include private keys generated offline and never seen by someone else.

Why is this dangerous? Can somebody clarify? How is this different from inporting keys in a bitcoin-QT wallet?

Why is this dangerous? Can somebody clarify?

Whomever wrote that paragraph wasn't thinking very much about what they were saying.  It's ambiguous and confusing.

Relying on importing a private key to load funds into a wallet can be risky if the person that imports the private key isn't the person that generated it, or if the person that imports the key didn't generate it in a secure manner.  This isn't unique to boitcoind.  It's true of any wallet that allows you to directly import private keys.

How is this different from importing keys in a bitcoin-QT wallet?

It isn't.

Can anybody do it? Please make it to some meaningful sentence, somewhat like Danny Hamilton suggested. Thanks in advance! Smiley

Android is cheap, user-friendly but lacks security. iOS have great features and great security but is expensive and not user-friendly.

Nope. You just put your Sig or Personal MSG or both and then post the details here. You will be paid if you at-least make 20 posts/period(4-10 days). Smiley

6999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to remove the Dust of 1 Satoshi Spam tx on: October 02, 2014, 02:14:15 PM
The unspent Satoshi are bloating the UTXO, which is bad for the network.

How can I get rid of my confirmed Satoshis?

I dont think there is a way cause you would have to pay more transaction fee just to get rid of them..

You can sent zero-fee transaction. Roll Eyes

Peter Todd wrote a Dust-be-gone script
That is good! Have anybody tried?
No. Nobody has tried it. Not even Peter. Please be the first and let us know how it went.  Tongue

Unfortunately, because of slow internet(Max-110 KB/s , Average-40-60 KB/s), I was forced to delete Bitcoin-qt. So I think another person has to try it first. Why don't you try it? Smiley Be the first! Wink Tongue

I keep forgetting which scam accusations are confirmed or only suspected and/or potentially technical trouble.

Thoughts on having a page that lists suspected and confirmed scams, that we can just redirect these pages to when confirming?

That would be great! I think for services, it would be better if it is verified first before being published in the site. And, if it seems scam, the service can be entered into the specific lists of suspected and confirmed scams. Roll Eyes
