721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: May 13, 2015, 10:18:14 PM
I'm a little concerned that the entire MN network can reach 80%+ compliance with a protocol bump within 48 hours, but that 96 hours after an MN vote is initialized, we still have less than 50% participation...and the voting process is not that difficult (log into VPS, type "./dashd masternode vote yea" and log off VPS).

The vote is open for 2 weeks.

If you look at the Etherum sale, most were sold at the last minute. People were (conjecture) waiting to see what was what.

Then there are those that don't keep up with the threads (or go MIA, see above).

Being on the wrong protocol means you can get bumped off the network, so I guess people check for some things.

Also, abstain basically = no. What's to say no voters can't be bothered to vote, because they have by default?

It's true that abstain is a "soft" no, but all abstentions become irrelevant once the preset quorum is reached (in this case, 50%+1). I doubt abstention is presently being used as a negative voting strategy, since a "hard" no would be durable no matter how many people had voted. At this point, abstentions look like apathy.

P.S. I'm wondering of Otoh's 25% of the MN network has voted or not. If not, it could indicate that he is reluctant to overly influence the project (unlike what some detractors have said) in which case it implies that only 25% of the network is not participating.

Thanks ddink7, this is exactly correct.

I was aware that the vote had a two week deadline and decided to leave it for a week at least before voting because of not wishing to potentially overly influence such a crucial vote, or appear to even if this wasn't the case, this also fitted in with my being afk traveling, I haven't checked this thread since page 4993 until today.

I had a good networking at the BitPay European HQ hosted FinTech conference in Amsterdam last week, meeting a DASH supporter who is looking to add substantially to his holdings and which I've offered to help him with when the time is right.

Today I met up with Holger/flare in Germany where I'm enjoying three days, it was him who made the MN vote for me - just as simple as doing a start-many but I hadn't yet looked in to it, really good to meet him, we had some excellent beers and very good chats, alles ist gut.

Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country, a new page.

Anais Nin

edit : oh look, a new page  Grin

Nice quote, resonates for me as dreams brought crypto in 2011 to transform my life, I've moved to a new country recently and share much time with a new friend that I met here who also dreamt these type of changes, a new page in life for sure, creating one's own reality for the best.

Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.

If any DASH guys happen to be based near AMS then I'd be happy to buy you a drink or two, next week I'll be attending:

That's interesting, because I first found of that address here. If even Dash supporters don't know of someone owning 11% of the coin supply with inputs being linked back to the original instamine, then wow, you must be really transparent Otoh /s

I did a search with that address and found no links back to you Otoh, so it's either you're lying, trying to cover up who the real owner is, or...because that address isn't linked to you at all, so you clearly have not made it as "obvious as possible".

lol, for some people, obvious as possible needs to be kindergarten style, believe me those with the smarts to know what's going on in this space know very well that it's me and when I started to invest in a 10% + stake in DASH, which was way after the instamine phase and also partly due to how that was handled, I want my dev to have an ongoing big interest in making this coin a success.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: May 02, 2015, 01:05:07 AM
All my coins were bought way, way after the instamine, it's actually one of the reasons I liked and invested in this coin, the likelihood that the devs had a good stake in making it work long term, which is being born out in practice.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: May 02, 2015, 12:47:18 AM
When/If crypto gets regulated currencies like Dash would obviously not suceed anywhere. Scams like what happened with Dash dont usually work well with the average person adoption.

Then to make things even worse, there's still an address with inputs connected to the original instamine, and that address currently owns 11% of all Dash in existence:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/wallet.dws?559582.htm.

So now we can undeniably say that Dash/Darkcoin's distribution after the instamine is horrible.

Dash is simply a scam, the evidence is absolutely overwhelming.

Holy shit, I checked the link and it's true!  When the ambush-miners are ready to leak/dump, you trashbag-holding guys better hope Otoh wants to buy (another) 11% of all the Dash in existence!

FUD FUD FUD - You really don't have a clue do you?

That address is mine, all my coins were bought long after any vote on instamine etc.

I've made it open and as obvious as possible, but I guess some of the dimmer pupils will always fail to see that.

Wow, I pity your life, such dedication to hate and just being a poisonous troll, I do hope that you realize you are making yourself probably quite sick in the long or even shorter term here, anyway GFY as always, Otoh Kiss

Good morning everyone.  We're in beautiful Victoria BC today.   Gorgeous out.   Sending out some positive vibes.

Your vibes are so powerful, they have reached the UK and perhaps even beyond Grin

Yep, they reached the island that I'm on as well this morning, Sark, along with the post about there being only one 29th April 2015 in our lives so to appreciate it and make it an awesome one, it was, very much so Smiley

Ugh.  If you guys are gonna post in this thread you should at least abide by your own statements and stop posting here.

*SNIP*
As I no longer have any interest in this coin and the posters here ( see below  Roll Eyes ) I don't plan to follow this thread any more, so bye Kiss

*SNIP*
Yes it is getting trolley now, no point arguing with Smooth, and I made my points so I will leave.

vokain, here is iCEBREAKER using you to attack me, honestly please let everyone know how you feel about that, obviously I see him for the toxic cunt that he is, but as you are basically pro monero and anti DASH I would be interested to see if you condoned his poisonous hate campaign or dissociate yourself from such blatant fuckery as what he is trying to do is not about the coins or their merits at all it's just pure shit stiring and worse.

Who looks toxic hate filled here?

just calling it out as it is, myself I'm unmoved, it's nasty shit but really not my problem, especially not any more, vokain may not like being dragged in to pillorying me though as I actually consider him a friend and hope that he does me too.

[bitching, pouting, and self-aggrandizement]

Otoh, it was me mostly whose orders you sold into. I earnestly think that smooth and everyone here, while sometimes perceived as vitriolic, only have the best of intentions behind the message they have.

Thank you for giving those rage-dumped XMR a good home.  I'm sure they will be happy being hled in your wallet for a long time.

It's a good thing Otoh is so hyper-sensitive to criticism of his pet gold donkey!

It was nice of him to puke up the rest of his Monero stash, just like I told him to.   Cheesy

Seriously guys stop that, if you wanna talk about Otoh make a thread for that and invite him.... this is about Monero and NOT Post after Post after Post what Otoh did.

FYI, I rarely post on the dash thread...

LMFAO, actually posts more than most everyone else combined Roll Eyes

in the last 24 hours, I'd count them but I need to sleep now, it has been constant, like every other post nearly, wtf, gal dood
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 29, 2015, 12:28:15 AM
Let me see if I have this right.  Otoh is still hiding his xmr balance in screen shot supposedly showing a trade history after he sold all his xmr. Huh

Yes, congats, you have that right, I choose to not screen shot my XMR balance, I wouldn't obsess about it if I was you, fact being that I sold 36,455 XMR = 82 BTC worth three days ago, I guess that I could buy 40,000 or more back now but I'd rather leave this whole toxicity behind tbh so won't bother most likely.

Maybe I still have a few 100k moneros that need dumping more stealthfully, I don't though thank goodness, but if I did that's only my business.

As I no longer have any interest in this coin and the posters here ( see below  Roll Eyes ) I don't plan to follow this thread any more, so bye Kiss

Otoh this is making you look bad, and I took your original post about your dump as a buy signal for XMR and am still buying.

GLWT dood, lets all win here, if you gain from my dump then I'm happy for you, I dumped because that made sense for me as I could only see this Monero price and project going down from here as things stand, it has - at least short term, but whatever, btw 'look bad' um I'm not in any beauty contest here btw, or even popularity ftm.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 29, 2015, 12:01:23 AM
PS, why I hide the balance, that is of course the million dollar question Kiss
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 28, 2015, 11:57:51 PM
Otoh, I don't see any evidence that you've ever owned any XMR. All you've shown us is a screen shot with a large number entered as a sell amount. If you really were in the process of selling everything, then why hide the balance?

The only thing you've managed to prove is that you're a liar.

lol, believe me, any serious players can see and read that I'm telling at as it is, but as a special concession to the dimmer pupils here.

736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 28, 2015, 11:36:40 PM
Hello Otoh,
all you say is "i am now backing a project run by a scammer, where i invested all my cash, and i can no longer back you while you point out the scam to innocent people, because else i might lose all my invested cash."

I wonder how long he will use the same pic over and over again, he already dumped his XMR you can see the 80+ btc here :

at same time he posted about it in his scam thread:

As I said, it was primarily a business decision, let's let the markets decide as they will re how this all plays out, for myself - well no regrets so far of course.

737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 28, 2015, 07:50:01 PM
I've been a large and long term holder of Monero up until this week, approx this time last year my XMR holdings were worth $60,000 and I've sold none until now, why did I decide to sell - because I took a good long look at the coin, it's development and potential as far as I could see it and decided that it was no longer something that I wished to support.

Why did I take a fresh look at it, because among other coins that I back is DASH and on the BCT DASH thread there is constant trolling by Monero fans and the dev smooth, just check how many posts he's made there today alone, dozens and dozens and dozens, why is this happening - I assume to make the thread unreadable and spread FUD, well it does this but it also creates a very poor image of crypto in general and Monero in particular, it is going out of one's way to try and antagonize everyone who sees it.

So I am no longer prepared to back a coin that has a main dev act in such a toxic way, I now no longer own any and do not plan to in the future, those remaining I wish you well with it but my decision to sell three days ago was primarily a business one, I do not see a bright future for this coin as things are atm I'm sorry to say.

I don't know what drivel he wrote as he's been on ignore for ever, but trolls missed a golden opportunity here:

instamine without recourse to premine
golden donkey without recourse to block size
bus factor 1 without recourse to meteorites

or something along those lines...
