1421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: October 22, 2013, 11:40:52 AM
Looks like a new dice competitor with a slick design is now offering investors 1%, 2% or 3% house edge. Combined with leveraged investment with a kelly ranging from 0.25 to 10x.

Can we please get a custom kelly at least?  Being able to use leverage would reduce counterpart risk for investors, and would reduce the site owner from being a target of extortion/ransom/violence.

What's really amazing is that if you look at the number of bets and the amounts bet the 3% pool has a considerable amount of action.  I would not have thought this possible as it seems illogical why anyone would choose to shoot against a 3% house advantage rather than a 1% are higher limits really that attractive?

Dooglus, I know you keep an eye on the competition, but checking this out may be a worthy use of your time, there may be more of an opportunity for a higher house edge on JD than I would have thought.

Yep, plenty of innovation from DN, doog any plans for JD to copy implement some of these features? Not talking about the anime backgrounds & UI animation btw.

Re ppl choosing 3% HE over 1% HE, there is a higher bank roll available to play for on the 2% & 3% HE so it may be that, especially on the first day or two - now there's more investment spread out over the 3 options, or maybe ppl were doing Martis which took them in to the higher HE range for larger bets after a few losses playing on lower HE %.

I played at 3% HE right at the beginning as there wasn't much investment in then & max profit was like 1 ltc or something at 1% HE, now it's about 10 ltc at 1% HE & 100 ltc at 3% HE.

Interest payments down by over 50% in just the last 3 week Undecided

That is correct. the average difficulty for September was 104,550,780 while this months average difficulty is going to be over 216,654,943 which is OVER a 100% increase.

Seems that money printing devices have seen somewhere around $100m in investment come in the form of 100% pre-orders and that investment has made the difficulty jump 30% more or less each diff period.

These are the risks along with manufacturer delay and BTC price.

And the BTC price has gone up with over 30% the last week, so It's not so big loss if we get 50% less BTC from Giga-/Teramining.
The BTC price will go up even more.

It's a big loss of bitcoins, for instance, I invested a lot of coins in gigamining shares & ended up with substantially less when I claimed for the 1530 shares that I had back in Feb, I got just 245 btc in back interest instead of the thousands that I'd invested, then I paid 382 btc for the paid upgrade to teramining on giga's assurance that this time it would be different, so far it's paid 173 btc less the 70.36 btc I would have received by sticking to the free upgrade, so 103 btc gained for a 382 btc cost & interest has slowed to 3.60 btc per week falling by 50% each 3 weeks on the latest figures, I don't see how this can ever cover the cost even with giga's assurance that he somehow intends to make it right.

The only honorable thing that I see now would be if he admitted the paid upgrade was a failure for those who took it & refund the cost of it, less interest paid out, but plus the free upgrade interest, which in my case would be 382 - 173 + 70 = 279 BTC or to explain when & how he intends to make this investment right for those who have supported him all along.

The 245 btc that I got back in Feb plus the free upgrade coins of 70 btc = 315 btc, these would be some of the very few coins that I had in my cold storage after the scams of last year, like bitcoinica, GLBSE etc, instead of that I am now 279 btc down atm just from taking the paid upgrade & earning a rapidly declining interest that can never hope to recoup this.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin's Astro chart on: October 21, 2013, 04:09:13 PM
This is the birth chart for dicenow, an innovative btc/ltc dice betting/investing site, that was made by someone in east Asia & was first announced with this thread, where I took the local time for Hong Kong which will be approx close enough to cover that whole region.

Will edit in a few days to add some interpretations, hopefully. Dicenow like Litecoin being a Libra sun sign.

He turned 0.0107 into 0.0111 in about 3 months.  I figure that's around 15% per year:

>>> (0.0111 - 0.0107) / 0.0107 * 100 * 4
14.953271028037424

Actually 15% a year is still impressive.

Not to mention the appreciation of holding investments denominated in Bitcoins, up from $136 to $163 on Gox this last week, about +20% with that alone.

I guess ppl are very short term focused, just like if/when it starts to shoot up they will all pile in too, the best buys that I've made have been betting against the crowd mind, like buying btc under $2 after it fell from $32 & ppl thinking it was all over, these are the best opportunities one may come across in one's lifetime imo, I've bought ltc every day the last week, just buying & hold, np.

3 quieter days after one very big one doesn't look too odd to me, especially as these quiet days are still about $1M/day wagered, maybe it's best to just let the site grow at it's own pace rather than try & max it out asap & the attention that would bring if say $10M/day was being wagered & if it was investment would go up so much that returns would prob end up as less than now, but with much increased risk of something going wrong.
1432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: October 15, 2013, 07:45:26 PM
Plenty of positive news in the AMA, lots of developments in the pipeline, plus Charlie saying that he "had plans to persuade Coinbase to adopt Litecoin. Stay tuned... Definitely a possibility. I will do my best to make it happen. No promises and no time frame."

In one year where do you see the price of litecoin (estimate based on your best available knowledges Smiley

"Wild guess here... $12 on Litecoin's 3rd birthday. Based on Litecoin being about 2 years behind Bitcoin. Bitcoin price was $12 on 10/13/2012. Smiley"

"The price of LTC is pretty much all based on speculation right now. This is similar to Bitcoin about 2 years ago. So I wouldn't worry too much about price.
We are working towards keeping the network stable. As Litecoin becomes more popular and grows, there will be more exchange support, more payment processors, and then more merchants. Once we have merchant support, the LTC price will no longer be just controlled by speculation. This might take a couple years or so."

"To be clear, I'm not saying it will take 2 years for exchanges or payment processors to start supporting Litecoin. It's just that it will take at least a year before we have enough merchants accepting Litecoin to make the price not just speculative."

While BTC is gaining a nice few % it's kinda a unique opportunity to snaffle up some more LTC at a good price imo before all the above starts kicking in, plenty of upside & as someone else said a good way to look at LTC is like a .net to BTC's being the .com which for generic names, ie pizza.com the .net are mostly valued at 1/10 of the price.

3 days in a row with sub-10k total wagered per day...

I'd really like to see a discussion about realistic ways to increase traffic/total wagered.

Anyone? Dooglus?
Thats nearly $1 million per day?

yep, at current price on Bitstamp of +/- $140 it's $950k - $1.24M, nada shabby

2013-10-12   7484.66775667
2013-10-13   8869.07724321
2013-10-14   6783.98114195

& the whales come every so often not every day, like last Friday was 100678.25598269 btc wagered or over $1.4M with 1% expected house profit being $141,000 approx & 10% of that for doog looks well worth getting out of bed for imo.
1434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin's Astro chart on: October 13, 2013, 11:30:51 AM
Seems that today, Sunday 13th October 2013, is favoured for Litecoin's 2nd birthday as it's the date that it was released for public mining.

IF ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY TODAY your year ahead will be friendly, good for team relationships and success at work. Your reputation will rise with recognition coming your way for your achievements. Though there will be some tensions and disruptions at home, within the family or in close relationships. You'll need to stay calm and tactful but be firm at the same time if you are to ensure the stability and independence which you want. Money needs sensible handling as well since this isn't the time to spend.

doog mentioned seeing a deposit of 1,000 coins come in recently that was then withdrawn in smaller chunks, no gambling or invest made, which looked like a drive by laundering, seems these ransom ware purveyors are also doing their washing at Just-Dice.

I think that I had trouble working all this out too, if you check my earlier posts here it may help, unfortunately I don't remember how it got worked out maybe someone more knowledgeable will help explain, from the FAQ you need an ECDSA public key which isn't the same as a Bitcoin address public key as it's made from a key pair using one you already have, the info on how to generate one & it's private key is somewhere but I don't see where to find it atm - maybe check the OP & the van gen faq or back posts here.

Sorry I've been neglecting this for a while, anyway here's:

http://www.freewillastrology.com/horoscopes/tarot_cards/tarot8.jpg   Bitcoin's Horoscope for week of October 10, 2013

Capricorn innovator Jeff Bezos built Amazon.com from the ground up. He now owns The Washington Post, one of America's leading newspapers. It's safe to say he might have something to teach us about translating big dreams into practical realities. "We are stubborn on vision," he says about his team. "We are flexible in details." In other words, he knows exactly what he wants to create, but is willing to change his mind and be adaptable as he carries out the specific work that fulfills his goals. That's excellent advice for you, Bitcoin, as you enter the next phase of implementing your master plan.

How would i request:    1klondike......  ?

by going to: https://vanitypool.appspot.com/newWork

& small case L is not possible, or upper case i or o so all caps isn't an option either, maybe 1KLoNDike or 1KLoNDiKE or 1kLondike - none of them really look right to me though.

It's nearly Litecoin's second birthday. Here's to another two years!

Check the second post, Litecoins "birthday" is the 13th Smiley

Yes it is. October 13th 2011.

That was when it was when it was opened for public mining I guess, but the genesis block was mined on 2011 10 07 so I think of that as it's birth or creation date.

Posted on it, still early in the States, interesting to speculate on where the price might be in 1 years time & what developments will happen, I remain quietly optimistic.
