If it was easy to add, then being able to input a negative amount of coins could be useful, ie I have 100 BTC in my wallet and want to show that, but 10 BTC I'm looking after for Alice say, or I owe Bob 5 BTC, these I would enter as minus balances, so it then tracks not just your own holdings but these types of debit holdings as well.

Others will see it as a bad thing, not much I can do about that, the best seems to be I just leave them alone on that address as intended and see what happens to the coin.
