741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency and Gambling on: October 22, 2022, 08:51:11 PM
Many people still think of cryptocurrency as gambling. While gambling relies on chance, cryptocurrencies rely on arithmetic and cryptography.

Given the parallels between cryptocurrency and gambling, this makes sense. Both are fast-paced, the value of crypto is unpredictable.

Cryptocurrency is chance-based, rooted in exceptional circumstances like influencer opinions, values might drastically change.

And both crypto and gambling (online gambling) are accessible all day and night.
I know some people who consider trading as gambling since they  have zero knowledge on that field,
And I feel the same way if I were on their place imagine putting up your money and waiting for the result if you would gain or lose it,
Doesn't even know what would happen next they would just base it on what they would hear or read.
742  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: What to do if your Ledger key have gone in the washing machine on: October 19, 2022, 07:37:01 PM
I have been hearing this rice trick for mobile device fell in water although I haven't found myself in the situation when I will put it into practice, I didn't know it will also work with ledger too.
I will keep this in my and also try as much as possible not to have a reason to get some rice. Smiley
It works on mobile phones since my cousin tried it before but you should make sure that it has been in there for a long time and it is fully dried or the phone would malfunction.
One of my friends tried it and was in a hurry to open his phone that he only put it on the rice for an hour so it didn't work.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Split the prize or Reroll? on: October 19, 2022, 02:33:21 PM
Let's say you join a give away with other user and both have to select a number between 1 and 10, you go for 7 while he goes for 9. The winning number is 8.

If the prize is 0.1BTC what would you do? Split the prize and walk away with 0.05 or Reroll to gamble for the full prize?
I would just split the prize since it is already a good amount of money and I could buy so many things from that prize.
I don't want to be consumed by my greed anymore just like what happens in the past either it is in gambling or at trading.
I used to aim for a higher profit and end up losing instead of gaining.
For me it is more ideal thing to do than getting greedy because we make another reroll there's a chance that you don't get the rewards instead of getting the half there's an assurance already that you are one of the winners. But of course if you are a risky taker another game of all or nothing to win the game.
Actually if the closest number will win the full amount then the most ideal choice is to re-roll. Imagine if you roll number from 1-7, you'll be able to win the whole amount since you'll be the closest number to it. Also, if you roll another 8, you can still receive a half prize. The only way you'll lose if you re-roll is when 9 or 10 will be rolled on and that's like 8/10 or 80% winning rate on you.

But still, without knowing the full context as well as the condition of the giveaway, we cannot fully decide wether to split it or to re-roll.
Even if there is a 80% chance of winning there is still 20% chance of losing your profit because of greed.
So since it is a giveaway I would rather take the profit than to take the risk of not getting any from it.
Besides I think there is only a small chance to be lucky on winning on such giveaways so why not enjoy it.
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 18, 2022, 11:01:56 PM
I think each Market season is important it just depends on each trader.
For those who wants to accumulate then they would certainly enjoy the Bear Market , But for those who wants to take profit those people surely enjoys the Bull Market.
So for us traders each market season is important it just depends on our goals.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problem does Bitcoin solve? on: October 18, 2022, 02:26:20 PM
For me financial freedom, letting us earn comfortable with whatever device we are using as long as it have an internet connection.
And I know some people who use crypto as their savings we trust it more than Banks and believe that it would be more profitable than letting our money sit on our Bank accounts.
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What efforts have you made to raise bitcoin awareness in your community? on: October 17, 2022, 10:17:20 PM
At first I was telling those people who are close to me about Bitcoin or crypto then some of them got into it,
But now I just put on crypto in my social media profile and some of the people that would add me would ask me about it.
Even my new coworkers ask me about crypto and how it works or how to earn from it.
747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another opportunity is coming, a time to hold on: October 17, 2022, 12:33:35 AM
I have been saving up and accumulating as much as I could, believing that the next halving would also set a new ATH and I could get a huge profit from it.
But if it doesn't then for me I still consider this as a great investment and I could just wait for it to climb up again.
If the halving wouldn't make it rise up then I am sure that there would be so many reason's in the future for it to set a new record of ATH.

749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: October 10, 2022, 06:51:28 PM
To be honest I am expecting a new ATH because of it, I mean in the past halving we have seen Bitcoin creating a new ATH so I am also expecting it to have a new record because of it.
But I want it to be more stable when it goes up I hope that it would stay high not like what we have experience in the past ATH's.
750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: October 09, 2022, 01:00:25 AM
We are not rich like them but I remember my father supporting me and even laughing at me whenever I confess that I am gambling with my classmates and friends through PC Lan games like DOTA and Counter strike back when I was a student.
It was like a regular topic for us but he always remind me to study well and don't let it consume me, gambling is fun but you must also remind yourself about your limits.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That's why I really like bitcoin :) on: October 05, 2022, 02:32:20 PM
What I like about Bitcoin or crypto is the anonymity and how we could earn on our own time.
How easily we could use it to be honest I know some people who actually had crypto wallet first before having a bank account because of the same reason, they want anonymity.
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin island in the Philippines? on: October 04, 2022, 02:31:14 PM
Source: https://coinpedia.org/crypto-live-news/cryptocurrency-wallet-provider-pouch-to-turn-philippines-resort-into-bitcoin-island/

When I saw this news for the first time coming from a crypto friend of mine, it was really mind blowing. The adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the Philippines has taken to a whole new level in which a Philippines resort may be turning into a “Bitcoin island” by a crypto wallet provider.

What are your thoughts about this one guys especially Filipinos here on this forum? Would love to hearing some feedback, reactions or opinion from you all here.

Thanks in advance!
Proud to be a Filipino and I would love to visit it to relax and have some fun with my friends.
To be honest some of my friends are already planning to visit Boracay even before this news, so might as well enjoy it with them if it would happen anytime soon.
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: October 03, 2022, 02:32:37 PM
I am not against it but as much as I could I want my kid to enjoy her youth by playing and doing what she loves.
We as an adult know how complicated and sometimes stressful crypto could be.
I don't want her to feel it at a very young age.
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS NOT DEAD! on: September 09, 2022, 02:32:05 PM
For me Bitcoin would never die it has faced so many ups and downs before but it is still kicking.
I don't know how many times I have heard something like this whenever Bitcoin is having a downfall we would hear so many negative comments about Bitcoin.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can change of environment have an effect on gambling addiction. on: August 11, 2022, 07:33:59 PM
You will agree with me that society and the environment can have a great influence on the lifestyle of every individual, you often can find yourself doing, or being involved in that activity that almost everyone is involved with in that your locale as a result of influence. Now considering someone who is a gambling addict, is there any possibility of him/her becoming better if they are relocated to another environment or society where people around are not involved in gambling?

Can someone still develop the habit of gambling and become an addict even though no one around gambles?

For me if the person is already addicted to it then there is a low chance that he/she would stop even if he/she moves to a new place.
We have so many online gambling sites nowadays so it would really be hard to stop for someone who is already addicted to it.
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Early Adopters rich? on: August 08, 2022, 08:23:58 PM
I think only few would have been lucky to resist the temptation on selling their Bitcoin when they gained a lot of profit on the earlier years.
I am curious on how many early adopters are still holding their early investment up to this moment.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi is not dead, what is he doing? on: August 07, 2022, 04:48:56 AM
For me I think Satoshi still visit the forum I mean if you were the creator wouldn't you be curious about how it is?
But if he/she or they aren't into crypto anymore I think they would be busy with another project who knows maybe we would hear from Satoshi again someday, but not about Bitcoin and it could be the project that he/she or they have been working on after leaving Bitcoin behind.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have started teaching Bitcoin to my Neighbors on: August 05, 2022, 07:34:50 PM
I also done something like that before but only few of them are really interested in crypto.
Some of them just like to listen or hang out some of them did invest and earn from it, and I am happy that somehow I manage to help them.
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Roller coasters!!! on: August 02, 2022, 06:04:38 PM
I agree that crypto has always been volatile,
But I don't think that a whale alone could really do that.
They need something that would create FOMO or FUD,
We could say someone that have a huge influence to the people like Elon who created a wave for Dogecoin.
760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 01, 2022, 05:30:14 PM
It would depends on the situation but honestly speaking I would think that Bitcoin is dying, although I would still have faith with it.
If I think that it would continue to fall then I'll wait but if I think that it already hits the bottom then I'll buy for sure.
Who would want to miss out that opportunity?
