Having trouble getting these to work in Windows 7. I followed the direction at https://github.com/rockminerinc/cgminer-for-R-BOX/blob/master/handbook.mdWhen I plug them in, they're detected as a USB device, as expected. I tried replacing the drivers with zadig_xp_2.1.0, zadig_v2.0.1.161, and zadig_v2.0.1.162. Regardless which one I use, the drivers are installed, and they show up as USB devices, however, CGminer isn't finding them. Tried both the included cgminer win0.3.1 and cgminer 4.3.4. When I use the option " --rock-freq 270", I get the error, " Unrecognized option: --rock-freq 270". I tried replacing that with " --anu-freq 270", and I don't get an error, but it still does not detect them. I do note that Zadig detectes them as CP2102, not CP21202, as the guide suggests. I have previously used BFGminer on this machine with the appropriate drivers. Update: Tried CrazyGuy's install - just sits there on "Started cgminer 4.3.3", and eventually starts with no devices. Got it working. No idea what was wrong, but I unplugged the USB cables, moved them over to two other ports, and reseated the power cables - started working. Sometimes you need to re-plug in a device when installing Winusb after FTDI. Your best bet if switching to cgminer is to completely uninstall FTDI drivers in device manager.

I noticed that. The link only takes me to my mega account (or to the login screen if I'm not already logged in).
Sorry, link was truncated https://mega.co.nz/#F!V8UlXSqQ!NMdAQ0ci0qQru98dF3ROHA Fixed: http://goo.gl/zbDYjGI don't talk about overclocking on these ones as the product is already at the part of the power curve where any higher power consumption makes it ridiculous. We should really talk about underclocking. Officially, they support 270-290, which gives the range of 32gh/s to 37gh/s. I wouldn't recommend going over 290 clock rate but I think I read about someone underclocking to 200.

- Edit cg.cmd in notepad and enter pool information as below. Do NOT remove the additional strings (--icarus-options 115200:1:1 --anu-freq 270).
That part of the doc is inaccurate, the parameter used is anu-freq. For those of you using Rockminer's 4.3.3 windows build, you may also notice that it defaults to 270 no matter what setting you use. I've rebuilt the binary with the latest 4.3.3 code and that resolves the issue. If you're looking for an end to end simple installer for Windows, I have built one using the WIX toolset: Windows InstallerAnother great guide dogie! I noticed that. I assume the equivalent .conf entry for the frequency would be: "anu-freq" : "270", The Rock site (somewhere) had "--rock-freq 270" in an example. Are you sure "anu" is correct? (I'll probably try both anyway but thought others might have the question as well). You also might note that 290 is the 'advertised' max freq the vendor recommends. Thanks! Price Update! There is definitely something wrong with Rockminer's Windows build of cgminer 4.3.3 that was preventing any frequency other than 270. I've released a new installation package that fixes the issue and it is available in the second post. This is just a barebones rockminer customized build of cgminer 4.3.3 that I've built on my system. I've only enabled icarus support so if you are looking to GPU mine, you'll need the official build or your own build. If you've installed v1.0.0.0 of the installation package, please uninstall before installing v1.0.1.0. https://mega.co.nz/#fm/l8dWTbCYPackage is also available under Additional Information on the R-Box listing @ ASICPuppy.net

I've got an even easier solution for you. Run the installer package from my second post. I have a dialog with a drop down for frequency. Cgminer is installed and configured for you and a shortcut created on the desktop and in the start menu.
Yes, I used that for initial install...so I should re-run the install every time I want to change Frequency? Sorry, didn't realize that. No, the default install dir is under program files\cgminer. Edit cg.cmd and modify the last string. Rockminer does not recommend going over 290. Word and thanks mate! I am really digging my R-Box so far. Sweet little unit with huge potential That did not work. I changed the setting from 270 up to 290 and restarted cgminer but it still only reports 270 Freq in cgminer Tried changing to another value and also right-click and run as admin on cg.cmd to no avail. Any suggestions? Just read https://github.com/rockminerinc/cgminer-for-R-BOX/blob/master/handbook.md but still nothing It looks like I have the same thing on windows but not my beaglebone. It's probably an issue with rockminer's compile of cgminer for Windows. I'll look at it a bit more tonight.

Using a "no name generic" 12V 6A power brick, my Rbox is using 39 watts at the wall for the stock speed of 32GH/s (i.e. 270M for the frequency). Works quietly and seems reliable with the Raspberry Pi and cgminer for support.
Thanks for the feedback. I still owe you guys a test with a standard ATX power supply. Hopefully I can get to that in the next few days. I have had great luck using this with my R-Boxes http://minersource.net/products/atx-to-dc-power-adapterThat's pretty cool. Beats making a bunch of molex connectors.

All orders shipped! Also, my first revision of a full installation package for Windows is available for download. The package installs cgminer and zadig on the users machine, giving them dialog prompts for pool and overclocking settings. Those settings will be replaced in the cg.cmd file and a shortcut added to the desktop and start menu(As well as one for zadig). Hopefully this will make installation and setup easier for you and your customers: Download Windows Installation PackagePackage is available in English, French, Spanish, Chinese(HK) and Chinese(Traditional)

When you say they come with the barrel connector, is that just the port on the miner itself (the female end of the plug, soldered to the board)? Or a male end with exposed wiring to hook up to a PSU? I'd love a picture or a good description. Thanks!
Pictures added to first post. Also, Free shipping through ASICPuppy.net for buyers in the USA. This weekend only. Use Coupon Code: FREEPUPPIES

Why not CP210 Silabs USB comm driver, is zdiag a device or cgminer requirement ?
I run 3 hubs with U1's & U2's and still a few BE's on them and zdiag always messes up my hubs.
Wxp laptop runnin em now.
Last time I tried zdiag I had many issues, now I stick to ethernet or USB devices only.
WinUSB is just a requirement of cgminer on windows. Zadig is not required, it's just the easiest solution right now. You may run into issues if you install FTDI drivers for BFGMiner first then Winusb, were you have to reinstall Winusb for each new device you plug in. The best way to get around this is to completely uninstall FTDI drivers from device manager before installing WinUSB for your first device.

Added instructions for running on Windows and Linux in second post. I will update when msi installer is ready to go.

Is there a version of cgminer already built for windows that can be downloaded so the miner is pretty much plug and play?
Also, are there instructions to build a linux version of cgminer for those who aren't programmers? Rockminer posted the files to placed on github but not sure what to do with them.
Yes there's a pre-compiled windows build that I will link tonight. I'm also working on a windows installer package for cgminer as well as a driver package so you don't have to use zadig. More details will be posted later tonight.
