Storms coming here tomorrow so I got up on the roof to take a look at what's been causing a leak and it seems that neither the people who replaced the roof last time nor the people who did it the time before had any fucking idea how to flash in a dormer window. Best I could do for now is slather some goop on but I may have to look at getting it done properly this year.

watch out for mold, its a real bitch to remediate. best to tear out more than whats needed to make sure you dont miss any moisture damaged structure that will come back to bite you (possibly years) later.

btw bleaching wood to try and kill mold and such doesnt work, the spores will survive (they go pretty deep and a surface application of bleach wont reach that deep). you need to seal any moisture damaged wood once its dry. hard surfaces can be disinfected with bleach though.

wet sheetrock, insulation and rugs.. just trash em.

get something like this (random amazon hit)

errrr.... wut?

maybe someone needs to tell intel SHA256 on GPUs is a bit dated? unless im missing something..

Quote
Intel Labs has dedicated decades of research into reliable cryptography, hashing techniques and ultra-low voltage circuits. We expect that our circuit innovations will deliver a blockchain accelerator that has over 1000x better performance per watt than mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining.

On a happier note it looks like France is building 14 new nukes. I am glad, happiness is a warm nuke.....

bonus with fission plants: you are your own nightlight.. no more hitting your big toe on the end tables and such when going to the loo in the middle of the night

cant wait for fusion plants to come on line. go tokamak!

sorta kinda (ok not really) related to that crazy youtube stills..

it reminds me around maybe 2013 (?) when alts 1st got traction here at bitcointalk.. the alt section was chock full of "BUY BUY BUY [random shitcoin] MOONING!!!!" and "SELL SELL SELL [bitcoin or something] and buy [random shitcoin] instead!!!" as scumball peeps tried to pump and dump the various alt markets.

it was especially memorable as i got a coworker to check out the forum around that time and she was like "these people are craaaaaaazeeeeee" lol. i did say ignore everything but bitcoin and hopefully she did (i retired shorty after this so am unsure what happened with her).

maybe in a future episode a brief mention (and a montage perhaps) of the insane alt sections topics from back then? although maybe its still like that lol i dont go there anymore really.

Fuck... covid got to my family.

sorry to hear that Sad  hope they all come through with no issues.

I would wager most people here (or anywhere, these days) have never laid eyes on a main bearing (much less their hands).  I didn't know sbc was a popular Jag swap, but that's not my area.

people put sbcs (among other crazy power plants) in lawn mowers.. at least a sbc in a jag is a fairly sane swap

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QKdrKSY9NA

crazy stuff.. love it

749  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 08, 2022, 12:45:30 PM
just broke into a sbc from my old jag and found striations on the first main bearing I pulled.

Shit.

 English translation anyone?   Grin

sbc = Small Block Chevy engine?

if so, they are a popular engine swap as you can build the snots out of them and there are more bolt on go fast parts than you can shake a stick at

main bearings support the crankshaft that the pistons connect to. crankshaft is what goes round and round and what the transmission and drivetrain hook to.

tldr; went to rebuild a non standard engine in the jag but there are damaged parts indicative of larger issues.

well maybe thats what it means

Healthy young child goes to doctor.  Smoke detectors in every room.  Doesn't feel good and changes. AUTISM! Many such cases!

its that glow that some smoke detector emit!!! the ones that glow or blink red transmit one form of autism, the green glowing/blinking ones transmit another.

glowing smoke detectors were the beta test for 5G and covid!! but since us pureblood lions were throwing smoke detectors out they built broadcast towers to get us instead Sad

its so obvious. why do you think all those antennas have blinking lights at the top!?!

thats the fire where a shelf "fell over" and "disabled" the fire sprinklers?

lol
755  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Say NO to smoke detectors! on: February 05, 2022, 09:41:17 PM
But how else would the sheep know when their house is on fire.  They're too lazy to use the smoke detector our lord and savior Jesus Christ blessed them with (their nose and eyes). Smoke detectors are the only option, if you're a sheep.

well except for those that die in their sleep from smoke inhalation

sleep is for sheep

What's this place coming to?

It used to be filled with pix of fine seafood, filet mignon, fois gras, and fancy drinks. I'd come away hungry.

Now it's full of disgusting franchise burgers... enough to kill your appetite.

Let's get rid of this loser McD/ramen mentality and regain our composure as Bitcoin elite.

says the guy who can hunt/fish his own food at his private lake lol
