741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH, LTC, DASH, XRP -why all so high on: December 14, 2017, 05:29:03 AM
While Bitcoin is being stable around $16500 all the other top coins like ETH, DASH, LTC, XRP, BCH, XMR are skyrocketing within a short time.
Does this mean that investors are moving towards the large cap coins ? Which coin have you invested in ?
I had an eye on Ethereum and it has reached $750 while DASH has conquered the $950 . Will both DASH and ETH cross $1000 within this year ?
XRP has crosed $0.5 , will it hit the $1 within this year ? Drop your comments below.

End of year pumps to land on the myriad "Best Performing Coin of 2017" lists that surely will crop up.
742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My (pessimistic) theory on the future of crypto on: December 14, 2017, 05:20:42 AM
Bitcoin lost the last man standing argument when it decided to go mainstream and not pursue privacy. There was a failure to acknowledge that blockchains are best suited for censorship resistant tx--it may be (somewhat) decentralized, but traceability means that tx can be monitored and refused or held until exchanges get approval from an authority. There are far better solutions for normal tx (scale, speed) and also for censorship resistant tx, Bitcoin is poor at both. You can say lightening network will fix these issues, but that is a ways off and second layer solutions  are less efficient than layer one solutions--it's just a hoop to jump through to get where you want to go.
743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Iota is going down on: December 14, 2017, 04:59:00 AM
I was surprised to see iota down, for some reason when iota is a good coin and can be a good coin for future investment. is the cause of this iota coin down? if there is any specific reason please I am given an explanation.

Microsoft was a small deal that got blown into a big deal that fudders turned to no deal giving iota a raw deal--but more than likely it is the market shaking out weak hands that needed an excuse to panic.

https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2017/12/12/iota-partnership-microsoft-marketplace/

Following some speculation from the cryptocurrency community, IOTA has come out to clarify that it currently has no formal partnership with Microsoft, despite its announcement from earlier in November.

This means that the Redmond giant has not yet contributed any data to IOTA’s marketplace, nor does it have any sensors connected to its network. Asked about its involvement in IOTA’s data marketplace, a Microsoft spokesperson told TNW that “IOTA is a Microsoft Azure customer and plans to use Azure to test and deploy its Data Marketplace.”

Please fact check.

A. Microsoft employee gave the Iota team the media that said "Partner." It would be weird for them to edit media not created by them.

B. Fujitsu and Bosch are much more involved and are comparable in size to MS, so why everyone is locked in on only the MS news is beyond me. You can go and check that yourself  or look here

you just need to pick a side to believe
and i believe that IOTA is a bad project in its nature and has many red flags
if you earn a lot of money with it i will be very happy for you because its not a competition for me ..
i researched enough about it =]

Apparently you are using alternative facts to spread a false narrative--don't worry I learned how to deal with noobs like you with my time in Monero--same shit, different day.

you are taking life too seriously
i really dont think that spreading lies in bitcointalk can influence somehow on the coin
i like when everything is clarified and spreading for days "iota partners with microsoft running data marketplace together" when both sides are not stupid and they know what is means to regular people that read this..  i just dont buy that they are so innocent

You must be a noob--do you not remember when every coin that was put on azure called it a partnership? Seems everyone is forgetting that--even though an actual MicroSoft employee gave Iota media saying "Partner," instead of just pulling it out of their ass like so many coins did with azure.

Stop being a concern troll. If you could invalidate the Microsoft emplyee's media, you would do it--instead you are waving your hands and trying to rationalize your BS.

Apperantly microsoft is not partner but participant .... like I wrote in another thread IOTA I think IOTA admins could have informed about this at some earlier point...
A lot of people are misunderstanding about that, the microsoft try to make a clarification and it seems the microsoft partner just another fake news. Microsoft only become a partner of the EEA and iota will never become a microsoft partner. That means IOTA doesn't get a lot of interest.

750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Iota is going down on: December 14, 2017, 12:32:27 AM
The truth is somewhere in the middle. Microsoft is not really an official partner of IOTA as in investing in it, even if they used the word partner. But they will use IOTA. A better word would be participant. A sell off is logical since the initial news was overhyped.

This. (also the MS employee sent the media that stated "partner." It would be weird for Iota team members to edit it).

Not sure why the MS news has gotten so hyped when Fujitsu and Bosch are comparable in size and are much more involved with Iota. Seems hypers hype and fudders fud--don't get caught by either one.
751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Iota is going down on: December 14, 2017, 12:22:17 AM
Did not buy IOTA thus did not profit from it but was aware of the HUGE news regarding Microsoft thus the high price claim.
Thought it was quite funny and interesting that lied ( as I understand) and as consequence they gained huge marketcap, I think that part of investors do not know about these bad news yet.

More FUD

752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Iota is going down on: December 14, 2017, 12:16:14 AM
Today, the very well known IOTA is getting down. Many of the investors have made huge profits of around 300% within 1 week but now it is going down very fast. This all happened due to their clarification about the Microsoft-IOTA partnership. Yesterday they clarified that they aren't partnered with Microsoft in any way but they are trying to be partnered with them and 37 other famous brands that include Fujustu etc.
Such news made the investors worried and they started selling their acquired IOTA stock. It is going down very faster if anyone has invested in IOTA should take some profits and sell the coins before it's too late.
Those news are just pure hype up not totally being implemented or considered as partners and investors did see that thing thats why price do have decrease because they are trying to get out as early as they can or else they would lose up some money for sure but if these possible movement for further development or partnerships would be continue then it would really be worth of to hold this coin and would buy on those dip prices.
In my it do have still the chance to progress even more this is why im waiting for the most possible dip price before i would buyback.

FUD

753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA NOT ON BITTREX? on: December 14, 2017, 12:13:24 AM
No, IOTA is not on Bittrex yet. But there are rumors that it will be added soon because some people find IOTA mentioned somewhere in their API code, so it seems they are gitting ready to add it.

My thought on the recent price rally of IOTA was that because it was rumoured that Bittrex is going to list it soon, but if you want to buy, you can do that on Bitfinex one of the best exchange in the space

No, the rally was because of the data marketplace announcement, that Bittrex rumor was out before the Iota hit an all time low, so why would it suddenly have an effect--

just read this article here : https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/iota-price-drops-co-founder-admits-microsoft-not-partner-participant/

I don't know but iota admins could have informed about this at some earlier point... dont you agree?? This is one of reasons to question and to be afraid of investing huge amounts of money into IOTA... Just like Monero hyping up price just to be BS ... Be carefull people Smiley it's a mean world and everyone is out to get your money ....

That's fud, and you likely know it. But thanks for your concern.

755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is IOTA dead? on: December 13, 2017, 10:48:07 AM
The existence of these Coordinators is the very definition why IOTA is centralized.

Of course it's easy to create a network when you have centralized supernodes deciding for the network and controlled by a few people. What a garbage.

So mining hasn't become centralized? M'kay.

As for the coordinator, I have yet to find anyone to offer up a technical reason why it can't work once it reaches a critical mass. Do you have one? Or just bland cryptobasics generalizations? It seems that while blockchains get more centralized over time, Iota will become less so.

But  when did you start caring so much about decentralization? I seem to remember you thought it was secondary in regard to Monero's asic resistance--what changed?

https://twitter.com/DavidSonstebo/status/940631227979194368

IOTA seems not good anymore because of the non Microsoft contract.
There has been a lot of posts regarding fujitsu in the past
but with most things in IOTA since they don't have a working product for commerce... everything is just cooperation. And that's big problem

Did you seriously cut my post down to manipulate the context? That's pretty low even for a noob.

Did you even read the article??

third paragraph ..
Quote
Having said this, the two companies are indeed collaborating on a series of technology innovation exercises with IOTA’s Tangle network, albeit without any signed agreements.

They don't care--they just want to fud to drive the price down. Whether it's to buy or to protect an investment is anyone's guess. I just post the facts and move along.
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Price Prediction 2018 on: December 13, 2017, 07:34:50 AM
I think it could go above 15$ next year, but before that I expected some kind of correction.

I don't necessarily disagree with this outcome or that there will be correction before 15, but given that they still have to announce what Q is--I think it still has yet to make another jump in December.
