741  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines Central Bank Considers Issuing Its Own Digital Currency. on: August 02, 2020, 08:10:26 AM
Ano sa tingin niyo sa mga kababayan? Sa tingin ko mukhang matutuloy yan but not optimistic dahil sa tingin ko ang ganitong usapin ay dadaan muna sa masusing pag-aaral. Mukhang yung news about digital dollar of US has an impact dahil dito.

But then the bigger problem na sobrang laki nang posibilidad na mangyari is maopen-up yung cryptocurrency and current users nito in which they might study nor investigate anyone involve in any forms or making profit out of cryptocurrency, and there's no impossibility that they might also come up to an idea about taxing such activities (which could take years to happen of course). But then the bigger advantage naman if ever they really pushed the idea would somehow change the ideology of the Filipinos with Bitcoin and crypto being a scam, especially with the current issue of forsage lol
742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [How to] Detect and recognize projects on: August 02, 2020, 07:39:28 AM
However, whitepaper can't guarantee anything because there are some writers doing the whitepapers for some money.

This is indeed a fact. I remember joining a signature campaign back then (bounty project) and worked so hard to promote it as it had a nice telegram community and a promising project (wearable crypto-supported watch wallet), and it haven't plagiarized it's whitepaper (I've investigated it) yet in the end for I think 2 months of the campaign, it turned to be a scam saying that they are processing the payments but they didn't. They even kicked everyone out on the telegram and could not be reached at all. Glad I never invested on such projects but I also think that what if other newbies in here did, hence I found this kind of thread very helpful. Though this must also be on the Reputation section, I think this fits here as a tutorial, a warning, and a reminder.

Hackers are attempting to profit from the death of Kobe Bryant by hiding malware within downloadable pictures of the basketball legend.

Quote
“We found a malicious HTML file posing as a Kobe Bryant wallpaper that contains a coin mining script.”

This is common even back then. The use of injecting malware to pictures and even pdf files can be done by simply using Kali linux and metasploit. I've read some of thread in here that talks about such image and file injection but I can't remember where I've read it. And I think it was expected that the death of a Legend could open a way to scammers and thieves to make profit out of it. But the issue here is simple, malwares and putting a mining script in it is simply legal. I assume that those makers doesn't know what entrepreneurship was lol. They can profit on the other way such as making items with Kobe in it..
744  Economy / Reputation / Re: How to get DT on: August 02, 2020, 05:27:27 AM
If you feel a user is abusing the trust system, contact them directly or in the DT thread on meta for an explanation. As a last resort, you can use your distrust~ option to exclude them from your trust list.
I am pretty sure OP knows all this, if I have to guess reasoning behind this topic, I would say OP isn't satisfied how DT system works. Well, I can't blame him for that.

Indeed. Distrusting a user by the means of being a DT in an unfair, unjust, or unexplained reason could also be a subjective approach and might turn tables which could lead to distrusting the OP as well. And DT system is still faulty as even most could see it. But then OP mustn't blame LFC as well if he made a choice making a user DT even if he made a simple trust rating on sportsbet.io which had faulty and issues recently. Even those accusations on sportsbet wasn't enough to justify it as a scam. Hence I believe actions of LFC isn't that wrong at all.
745  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Golda.store Plagiarized Whitepaper on: August 02, 2020, 04:53:15 AM
I've seen this recently and read their promises but then I almost think to somehow invest in it, as Digital Gold were successful and they still have their bounty running upto now while already listed on the market. And isn't a good investment on a gold-backed currency? (If only I had a chance to invest in Digital gold back when it wasn't listed).. But still, Nice catch op! Glad I knew this before investing.

I've also searched their team and it was even more suspicious.
746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question about cryptoskull on: August 02, 2020, 03:36:20 AM
They give you 30 claims of free faucet per day or 30 claims and that`s all you got? I registered 2 days ago, claimed 30 times and there is no refreshing of amount of claims. It is written - "you have no faucet available"

Faucets with claims requires deposits. There's no legitimate faucet that doesn't require deposit but that doesn't mean that all faucet that requires such are legitimate as well. But I see that cryptoskull had many good reviews and wasn't scam and the issue is clear and simple that you haven't read their rules yet and wasn't following it.

Also, why isn't this locked yet? There are too many answers that are I think correct and must've satisfied your inquiry.
747  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Lower the Reporting Buffer Period on: August 02, 2020, 02:34:00 AM
Edit: some explaining; you open the 20 report tabs at once, and then close them as you send them
That's what I've been doing for a long time when I found a "batch" of bad posts, but I always have to slow down because of the 4 seconds delay.
I'd say, once a user reaches the minimum of 4 seconds delay, it should be removed entirely. On average, the forum doesn't allow more than one page view per second, so (apart from some burst space) that would be the new limit.

Indeed. If ever that they would lessen the 4-second limit, then I think it would bombard the system with reports and would take a long time for moderators to approve and review almost 60 reports for a min (if you wanted to make it a second limit). And 4 second is enough, even the 1 second request per page must also be enough, to somehow prevent crashing the system as well.

I've never tried using script for reporting batch spam post as I only report manually and would take 4 seconds per report by opening it in new tabs. Though scripting is convenient, the 4 second limit is I think fits if reporting was done manually hence enough time to submit a report.
748  Other / Meta / Re: Where to post asking if anyone is interested in starting a "project" together? on: August 02, 2020, 01:59:24 AM

I don't want to get into trouble, but I've search and search and I am not exactly sure where to post a few questions (and ideas) about a project I've been thinking about starting. I'm not really recruiting anyone, but I want to toss around a few ideas and get some feedback, maybe form a "exploratory" team (If that can be done).
Of course the board rules come first.

If you're not recruiting anyone at all, then I think posting a thread on either Project Development or Altcoin Discussion is enough depending on what you really are up to. And I think it would be hard for you to gain an "exploratory" team as many here aren't not that fond of making their own altcoin but then trying to post your plans can also be a risk as others can imitate those ideas and can be used by them to scam people (if it was a good system and a promising one). Remember that saying your plans here and your ideas could be easily stolen by the others as you haven't patent such project and idea.
749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Traditional Crypto online gambling sites against Crypto based gambling sites on: August 01, 2020, 07:31:46 AM
And the traditional crypto gambling is still popular among crypto gamblers so no doubt that most of us will choose the traditional one. It's easy to attract possible customers or gamblers when they have a variety of crypto to choose from compared to only a specific one.

Indeed. But if we would also consider Physical Casinos in the topic (on focusing on one currency in gambling), or an online gambling platform that uses fiat instead of crypto, then I guess there's no difference compared to traditional crypto gambling platforms, as they would have same idea of games and the same satisfaction, but only differs a little in the currency they use and they support. And if it was so, supporting a single fiat doesn't really matter nor change the game or the gambling at all, as long as they made it fair and fun.
750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The reason why Crash Games usually crash at lower values on: August 01, 2020, 06:29:29 AM

I guess Op just wanted to prove that Crash games are provably fair, and is not manipulated by the gambling sites. Well, the core idea of the algorithms of crash should closely follow what Op said and shouldn't deviate that much. They may change it up to increase their house edge or vice versa, but the idea remains the same. Besides, with the amount of crash matches that happen every day, someone winning big every now and then isn't even that weird or odd.

But IMO, there are a lot of gambling sites out there that uses their own algorithm and had their limits or was being manipulated. I've encountered a lot of issues in many gambling platforms I've tried back then and read many accusations of them being either too much fair that they made others win drastically big, or they made many loss too much. And that leads me to another idea that algorithms doesn't matter nowadays, as many enters gambling mostly not as their profit making habit, but a time to enjoy playing gambling games.
751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The reason why Crash Games usually crash at lower values on: August 01, 2020, 03:59:43 AM

Does algorithm really matter? It's not just the crash game that usually has low values and less possibility of winning, it is also in every game in gambling, and in any platform. But I don't think that Roobet uses the old algorithm as there are already huge number of players that win a big amount in playing Roobet's crash game. And how are you even sure that they are using RHavar's code and not their own? I think only those famous betting platforms with crash games back then only uses that, and new innovating ones are making their own adjustments with the code.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Traditional Crypto online gambling sites against Crypto based gambling sites on: August 01, 2020, 03:14:07 AM
Traditional online Crypto gambling sites are gambling sites that accept a different kind of Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Ethereum Dogecoin and XRP
And Crypto based gambling sites are gambling sites that are created dedicated to a certain Cryptocurrency like Tron based gambling sites or Eon based gambling sites.
What do you think will have an upper hand or who can attract the most gamblers in the future

To be honest, Crypto-based gambling platforms often had less popularity and attention as it would depend on what crypto they'd be using. In which, in most cases, aren't that necessary at all, as supporting multiple cryptos and giving the users a choice on what currency they want is still the best feature a gambling could have. Not unless they made a crypto-based gambling yet offers a minimum transaction fees and low bet charges, then they might have a chance to gain a better market. But still, that wouldn't change the fact that the more crypto you support, the bigger chance you can gain clients.
753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How bad malware could be on bitcoin wallet devices on: July 30, 2020, 03:05:39 PM
Ways to install malware
Malware are very dangerous but also very easy to avoid, if you know the ways it is installed and follow ways to avoid it, your bitcoin wallet device will be protected. Malware are installed from unprotected sites, any site can be unprotected and be secured. So from the above ways to avoid malware, you can protect your bitcoin wallets.

have you ever know that most malwares are so fast in stealing evrything it needs? Once it had access to your device or any of device you use in your bitcoin wallet, it can take your data, email, private keys (if you downloaded a phishing app that was injected with a little code), and of course some of your pins and passwords as well. And no, malware nowadays aren't easy to avoid, as even a single picture you've downloaded and viewed on your device can secretly run a code that steals information, and no wonder that it will soon can attack bitcoin wallets as well (depending on what wallet you use).

Here's a little thread I've read that talks about a little hacking (somehow helpful with the malware topic):

It's funny that they are really trying hard to rebuild their image in many forms and scams in every way they can think of despite the allegations (the reality to be exact) that they are simply a ponzi scheme. But what really made them successful in scamming is that they target famous streamers or online influencers to promote their scam. I've said it because I knew a local streamer (Philippines) that posted online promoting the scam in which would be dangerous both to herself and to her followers.

The Facebook story I've seen:
https://www.facebook.com/cryptofonzy/posts/151182799992866

The streamer's post:
https://www.facebook.com/mtfujigaming/posts/3074184349302843

And the saddest part here is that many are interested and have commented "How". They really are f***ed up.  Angry

One day, all these bitcoins will somehow hit the market.  Undecided

This doesn't matter at all. It is already hitting the market dude and we can be holding now a scammed bitcoin. But then again it's too unnecessary to know where your holding are from, as it is only a currency, a money, and not a thing that has your name or records its past. Are you even sure that the bitcoins you hold right now isn't from any other illegal activities from the past nor had been generated illegally? Or should I say, is there anything illegal in the aspect bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?

hence, whatever those Bitcoins are from. It is just money, nothing more, nothing less.
757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto for gambling? on: July 29, 2020, 02:55:52 AM
What's your favorite crypto for gambling? Why did you choose it? Do you think the decentralized gambling industry will grow now that crypto is becoming more popular due to COVID-19? Or is it still too early to tell? Huh

Am I the only one with XRP being the favorite cryptocurrency as for gambling and of course for transactions? Cheesy Though it was centralized, I see it as an opportunity that my holdings wouldn't fluctuate too much and the transaction fees wouldn't cost even a single dollar. Many would see this funny nor a bad habit, but for me it was worth it and gambling would still be the same even if you use other cryptocurrencies. Another advantage that XRP has (for me) is that it was fast whenever I withdraw and deposit with it.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Space Race Wagers? on: July 28, 2020, 10:14:27 AM

If the odds are really nice why don't people bet on it?

Is this going to be a super long term game? People bet on sports matches which is going to take place even more than 5 months later. If the betting is on which between country A and B is going to send a mission to space or moon or Mars first, then I assume that the countries involved have already existing space programs that would probably launch a ship several months later.

This is not going to be a bet on whether Burundi will be able to launch a Mars mission earlier than South Sudan. Odds makers and betting sites won't offer the odds if the event is going to happen in the next 100 years.

Then what do you think would be the odds on such betting idea? As I've said, there are numerous possibilities and changes that could happen on years and I think it's too impossible that someone would really wait longer than 6 months (in which I think the minimum months that the space mission would occur or the bets would occur). And doesn't what game are we really playing here? Whom would be successful first? Whom would make progress first or who would fail? Everything is open-ended in such situations.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Space Race Wagers? on: July 28, 2020, 03:03:43 AM
China just recently launched it's second attempted mission to Mars.  The Tianwen-1 mission should reach Mars in early 2021, after a 7-month journey.  Their not alone, the UAE also launched a mission to mission to Mars, the EMM-HOPE.

I haven't heard much about the Emirates' space program, but I've heard of the Chinese's a few times.  So it got me thinking about if they're going to actually make it this time.  And whether the UAE's ship will make it too.  I'm not a gambler, so I'm only wondering out of curiosity.  What do the odds maker's think?

The only question here is that would there be people whom will gamble and bet on such a super long term game? It's like betting on what country would be sink first and what would stood longer. What if the other had their upgrade or a follow-up service, wouldn't that be unfair? And what exactly would we bet in here? There are many aspects in which could also has many changes from time to time. And would this even be profitable nor would there be really a market at all? I don't think so.
760  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: JETWIN CASINO HAS OFFICIALLY REFUSED TO PAY ANY OF MY 25,000 DOLLARS IN WINNINGS on: July 26, 2020, 10:33:00 AM
Has this been reported to the authorities already? There should be a legal step made by the victims including you so that these criminals will be arrested once and for all.
If this is not acted upon legally, it might continue to victimize more innocent gamblers.
This is very sad and I'm sorry for your loss. I hope justice will finally be served. The lesson that you got is costly.

Where should he legally report these kind of acts? Obviously, the website is vast and it would be hard to detect if Jetwin has legal documents on the local government its main server resides. Who can tell where the main office of the Jetwin is? And are there even main offices with this kind of scams?

The amount contested is very huge he should gather all the evidence and contact it's host or domain registrar so he can report the abuse I'm sure they have their contact information, if he obtained a court order he can proceed prosecuting the people behind this gambling site their reputation is already ruin I hope those who will play here will do a research.

It would be too risky to find nor report with no exact location where the Jetwin is, and finding them would be a difficult task. But he had enough evidences of the images that tells how rude and suspicious their support was and it would be better if you read it. Therefore, court order would only make things much tougher for the OP. I think letting everyone know with the accident would be fair enough.
