801  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I need $500 worth Bitcoins have $ to pay for it asap. can anyone help here? on: August 11, 2019, 01:40:13 PM

Do you have Neteller? I will need Neteller balance. And obviously you will go first or use escrow at your cost.
Check here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5173634.0

You shouldn't accept Neteller from a newbie (it's his first post for such a  big amount)as they allow chargebacks and plus your own account also would be ruined if he does.

You can directly deposit BTC to your neteller account by paying 2.5% fee.

India is winning all the tosses and Kohli is always gambling with his choices. Last time he chose to bowl and today bat when it doesn't seem to rain anytime soon. They pushed Shreyas to 6 and chose Pandey for the 4th position. They still are confused as usual lol
803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 11, 2019, 12:38:53 PM

I never understood the politics behind team selection in West Indies. They have filled one of the bowling slots with a part time bowler. His selection is even more surprising because he performed poorly during the recently concluded series against India A. He picked up just 4 wickets in two first-class matches and scored 123 runs in four innings.

They are taking too many risks and losing by selecting wrong players for wrong matches. Gayle doesn't seem in form at all and now choosing a poor bowler will land them in the losing team. They lost almost all matches in the WC too. Pollard is the only good player in the team currently.

I was checking about DJ Bravo and he also retired from Test matches. Sad state for WI.

^Nobody requested the kings of J&K while they themselves asked India for help when Pakistan wanted to capture it and J&K was a princely state already under the British. Read this

India was already a country before the British rule and it was just made independent in 1947. It was not born in 1947 while Pakistan was born on that day.

Rahul was given enough chances, and now they should give some opportunities for younger players such as Sreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Rahul's performance in the world cup was not up to the mark and in India there is no dearth of young talent to fill the no.4 position. Also, the matches against WI represent an ideal opportunity to test some of the younger players.

Rahul was pretty good in WC and how was his performance not up to the mark? He got 111 against SL and 48 against WI in the WC and that to as an opening batsmen where he had to prove himself. They are using this series as an experiment by taking Shreyas and not giving a talented player a chance but hope he gets to play in Test matches else they just keep forgetting about the good players.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 11, 2019, 08:20:27 AM
India are still struggling for the 4th position batsman and don't know why they are busy experimenting with new batsmen instead of going with the experienced batsmen Rahul. If they are going with Iyer, I don't find him a better batsmen.

How to pass KYC?

KYC details have not been shared yet neither by the team nor by the bounty manage so I feel that when the process will start, the BM will be sharing the details on this thread. They will require any ID card for that.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 10, 2019, 05:10:23 PM
As far as I recall, I think the time I placed the bet for India when they were in better position in the match. The odd was not much too for them. I will look for the betting history and will try to find the exact amount and the odd. It was after then, New Zealand started to play good and won the match.

In the start of the game India did play well and NZ were losing wickets and not being able to make runs but the second day everything changed when wickets started falling from the start of the game. I feel that weather also was a factor which ruined the game else if they had to finish the game the same day, they may have performed better.
809  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live Problem on Windows on: August 10, 2019, 02:16:38 PM
This is intended; it is a security feature to prevent other people viewing your accounts if you have stepped away from your computer. If you don't like it, you can adjust the time up to an hour or disable it altogether by clicking on the "Settings" icon in the top right of Ledger Live and changing the "Auto-lock" settings under the "General" tab.

It logged me out while doing a transaction and I had to reenter the PIN, confirmed BTC wallet which was irritating. Thanks! Will do that.

You can't lose your coins simply because of a fake pop up. The fake pop up required users to follow a fake link, download fake software, install the fake software, and open their wallet with it. If you follow the recommended steps for properly installing Electrum (i.e. only ever download from "electrum.org" and verify all files before installation), then you can't be fooled by attacks like this. In addition, this has already been patched for many months, and is only continuing to affect users using outdated versions. In further addition, if you were using Electrum with a hardware wallet (as you would be), this wouldn't be effective as you would still have to confirm any transaction on your Ledger device just like you do at the moment using Ledger Live.

Electrum isn't risky. Users with poor security practices are risky.

Electrum is open-source and a free wallet which is why it can be manipulated more easily than Ledger that's hardware. Even the best of people can be fooled if they follow the pop-ups in the wallet and even Ledger has the same option of updating the version. Ever since I got hacked due to a virus on my PC, I avoid installing anything on it and hence I started using Ledger which doesn't get affected even if my PC is infected. I don't like to use even Ledger Live but still since it doesn't get affected by viruses, it's fine.

Surgery was successful.

I like him as a person, very down to earth kind of guy off-camera and real life. He used to be very handy cricketer for India as well but his career almost finished when he didn't perform according to his reputation in England tour. And we are not going to see him in blue jersey ever. Even if he gets the new opportunity to play for India (very unlikely)  Then his format is T-20, not ODI or test format.

He is still playing well in IPL so why are they not giving him a chance in international games and taking newbies is something I can't get. He was once the vice captain of CSK too and he's still young. When they ignore Gambhir, I thought it was because of his age but now only youngsters are being chosen. Tey could have chosen him for T20 if his surgery was not there but his name was nowhere mentioned and he won't be playing for next year's WC also now.

Raina, Dhoni, Yuvi all 3 used to be a backbone for Indian Middle-order, Good old days. cant even compare to those guys with current middle order ( Last 3-4 years time period sucks for Indian middle-order)

Gambhir too was good and they dropped him too. These players were able to get runs and not depend on just 1-2 players and even that time Virat played well but now I don't see the same aggression he had like that time. He used to be under pressure and perform while now he just plays for the sake of playing.

811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 10, 2019, 01:34:22 PM
Gayle has not been chosen for the test so last two matches for him in the ODI. He looks bored now and hence spoke about his retirement. He has lost his form too.

Rahkeem Cornwall is chosen as a bowler for the test in WI and he has never played any test match till date. Why are risking new players for the WC test now?
812  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: When will they fix Ledger Nano S firmware? on: August 10, 2019, 12:18:45 PM
^There are many active traders who use Ledger and when they store just 5 apps, they get the 'insufficient space' message which is horrible. Many people trade in ETH, BTC, BCH, EOS and other coins and Ledger has to come up with an option to save more apps. It's inconvenient to keep installing and reinstalling apps when you need to use them as it's such a small device and not a laptop which can be done with one-click. It also has no option to increase the space by attaching an external device.
813  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live Problem on Windows on: August 10, 2019, 10:06:40 AM

What version of Windows are you using? Ledger Live is pretty notorious for not functioning properly on anything older than Windows 8. Does it work normally once it has launched? How long do you wait before killing the process? It might just be that it needs some extra time to load.

If you are using Windows 8 or 10, then the best I could suggest would be to uninstall and reinstall Ledger Live. Alternatively, you could not use it at all and move to pairing your Ledger device with a wallet like Electrum for your bitcoin.

I am using Windows 10 and have installed the latest version. It works normally after that but keeps getting logged out if I remain inactive for like 15 minutes. I reinstalled it twice and now it opens on the second attempt.

Electrum is risky as after hearing so many members losing their coins due to fake popups, I'll never choose it. Till now nothing wrong has happened with Ledger Nano.
814  Other / Meta / Re: Bumping thread with new announcement every hour? is this allowed? on: August 09, 2019, 07:27:57 PM

Automatically merging posts (in one thread, and by OP) published within 24 hours might result in trash posts. Some posts are updates; rest of posts probably to answer questions of users in that thread. I don't think this feature can work appropriately.
Project developers who start ANN threads should read forum rules and Welcome message to manage their threads and their accounts better.
I do remember that I received a message from forum staff that my two posts in one thread merged into one by that staff. That is great enough.

Posts are only merged if they are posted back-to-back by the OP while replies to other users are posted as separate posts so it won't create any trash posts nor would look messy. It's like this thread: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/wmtech-double-post-merge.833/. This makes it easier for the users bumping within 24 hours.

Posts are merged manually here which is time-consuming and unnecessary work for the staff.

Suresh Raina went through a knee surgery recently. Feel really bad for him since he was dropped from WC and now has no upcoming matches too. Does anyone know which match he'll be playing next. I barely see him in ODI and test matches now and he's not even included in this test series against WI.
816  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live Problem on Windows on: August 09, 2019, 05:23:45 PM
I am also facing a problem with Ledger Live. I need to click on Ledger Live atleast 5-6 times before it starts else it is present in the list of processes in Task Manager but doesn't launch. I had to click on it 6 times last time and had to keep ending the processors before re-launching it while last time it started after the second attempt. I got the updated version so don't know why it doesn't start after the first attempt.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you agree with this crypto expert's bitcoin price prediction? on: August 09, 2019, 03:48:31 PM
Even predictions of coindesk authors are not trustworthy as crypto market is not dependent on real factors unlike forex/share markets where the information gets leaked and the price can be predicted. Even expecting BTC to reach $50k sounds absurd and here he says it will reach $250k without any prediction pattern. Earlier some forecasters had given a particular pattern that bitcoin followed since 2013 to 2017 but even their predictions failed when the market crashed last year and till date it hasn't recovered.

This site is more believable: https://walletinvestor.com/forecast/bitcoin-prediction

I would like to share my recent personal experience with the hope that you will learn something from it.

In the WC match between Sri Lanka vs England, I lost more than 0.048BTC. We all knew that England will win but the reality was opposite.
In the Semi final match between New Zealand vs India, I lost more than 0.05BTC. Again we all knew that India was a way better team than New Zealand.

In today's dollar rate the total turns out $1,159. Not sure how much it was at that time, I think it was over $700 or something.

I was upset but those were the amount I was able to afford to lose. It did not effect me financially for my daily expense or paying bills or any savings form my future. It did not make me broke.

So in gambling please do not go ALL-in. Only play with the money that you can afford to lose.

I hope it helps whoever is reading it, including you.

Cheers :-)

NZ was the better team actually since the start and then they lost way while India had already lost against NZ in the warm up matches. So we can't say who was the better team. BTW Royse777 Do you bet on IPL too?

I had a friend who use to bet lacs (in USD is is approx $1500++) on IPL matches and mainly on Mumbai Indians and that too not in BTC but in real cash from the bank which was his salary (working as an Engineer). Despite losing many times, he never stopped betting as it became a habit and more than that a matter of pride. In India the gambling market is pretty huge and mainly for IPL inspite of it being illegal.

^Gayle was probably warming up with a SR of 12 and by the time he was ready, he got out lol He must be saving his energy for the 300th ODI

Only 2 more ODIs left so India has to win both for winning the series :=(

^And who gets the money when they pay the fine? The victims or the Government?

It's a law of EU and some other countries where hefty fines are applicable but not common in other countries. Binance is headquartered in Malta in this case.
