801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Fantom make it to the top 15 ? on: November 01, 2021, 06:26:06 PM
Making the top 15 is not just about saying it, it all depends on what the team are doing to push the project to that level, since you have mentioned Solana and polkadot blockchain, both of them have good number of projects in the blockchain which also aid the growth of this two, let's see what will happen in fantom case, how many project are willing to work with them, am holding some ftm so I really hope they deliver.
802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is thinking about unbanning bitcoin mining after price rise on: November 01, 2021, 10:19:06 AM
They thought banning crypto mining from China would cripple the crypto space but to their dismay even the United States who was strongly against crypto in the initial stage happens to give room, I think it is time they put an end to their hide and seek game and make a decision where they want to be in the crypto space, crypto will survive and move on with or without China, that has been made clear to them.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will these coins survive 5 years? on: October 31, 2021, 09:19:29 AM
I have all of these coins:

ETH 40%
CARDANO 20%
POKALDOT 20%
TERRA LUNA 5%
THETA 15%
Avax: 10%

Are my coins going to last is it likely?

There is a high probability that they will be around even after 5 years, the whole crypto space is just gaining recognition and it doesn't seem like many people are aware of it or crypto has attained it's full potential yet,  I believe eth is already more than 5 years in the space, Cardano is also an old project,
Most of the project or all of the project you mentioned are not fully developed yet, so I assume they will stick around for some time.
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risk in Crypto Assets Portfolio on: October 31, 2021, 08:25:15 AM
I have seen there whatever has a huge upside also has a huge downside. This is the case with crypto currency, including bitcoin.

Can we point out the risks that one faces in investing crypto assets based on these:

1. As a retail investor

2. As an asset manager (hedge fund business)

3. As a trader.

Beside the price risk, to me among the biggest risk is losing your keys as an investor with a long term goal in mind, actually am currently facing such delimma, bought some Tokens back in 2018 at a very cheap price, now tokens have valued alot but my keys seem not able to open the wallet of the token, seem I must have copied it wrongly or so, now I can only see what's on wallet without access  Huh, not a good situation.
805  Other / Off-topic / Re: Facebook Plan To Rebrand Name To Meta on: October 30, 2021, 09:18:53 AM
Hopefully. Its new name Meta might open more opportunities for crypto to be more acknowledged from its beginning until it will become a mainstream.

You are missing the point, crypto don't need Facebook to be relevant, not in this present time, if we are talking 5 years back I would agree but now in 2021, not anymore,  the reverse is the case here, Facebook with all it's attempt to launch libra failed at it and keep pushing to gain relevance in the crypto space,
After so much brainstorming, they came up with this hoping this will pull through eventually,  at the end of it all, it won't be anything like the real crypto, so there is no way it can make crypto relevance, crypto doing that just fine without Facebook.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON WORLDCOIN? on: October 30, 2021, 09:08:44 AM

1. Is this just a cryptocurrency or there is no more to it?
2. What will the founders use such data that is projected to capture the entire human population for?
3. Most of the people being used to test this project are children who might not even know what they are doing, what does this show?
4. Is the money given in the for of worldcoin crypto worth the data they are taking?

Here is the source of a review of the worldcoin: https://youtu.be/Ynmz6Voy378

Kindly watch the video and give your opinion.

1. There is a possibility they are not letting people on everything about the project.

2. Another probability,  or perhaps they are using the data to carry out a test on biometric.

3. Taking advantage of their ignorance, perhaps they feel it is easier to deal with less knowledge than those who already have full knowledge and can question their actions.

4. Who knows, I guess time will tell if the money is worth the trouble, the coin has no value yet, however, no amount of money is suppose to worth giving out personal data, except you choose to.
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it easier now to get into Axis Infinity ? on: October 29, 2021, 09:10:19 PM
Judging by the current price of axs definitely will be more expensive to get in now as a gamer than few months back, like you said, the competition is much higher and wining is a bit harder than before, so it is upto you to decide if you want to try it out or find an alternative, perhaps there are other play to earn games out there that are not yet too competitive and still not very known with reasonable price.
If you bought your axs so early and haven't sold then you should really count yourself lucky and just continue to hold.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Community means everything on: October 29, 2021, 08:59:31 PM
Community means everything in crypto space, there are many people who think that shiba coin won't enter top 10 on coinmarketcap well today we did it, now that we are in bull season I'm sure more surprises is coming, shiba is more than a meme coin do your own research before judging the project, Dogecoin that was loved by the community for few years now got flipped
The price of this shitcoin will go down very first when the mood of the crowd changes.
It is impossible to constantly push the price up, even market makers have limited resources. When they realize that it is time to create a new meme coin, many hamsters will lose money, and SHIBU will be very quickly forgotten, like all its counterparts.

People had the same feeling on dogecoin when it suddenly becomes the center of attention (myself included) but instead dogecoin went to make a position among the top 10 coin on cmc,

I also had the same impression on shiba inu, to my surprise this shitcoin has risen so much and got almost all media outlets talking about it, shiba mcap is huge and have a big trading volume, plus got listed on coinbase before some very good projects out there, there is also the talk about a possible robinhood listing, this is a community cum defi coin now no more just a meme coin, so don't be surprise it won't go down that easily.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you believe in market analysis published by crypto news websites? on: October 29, 2021, 08:46:09 PM
It is not always you will find a 100% accurate crypto analysis, different crypto news site will give their analysis base on their own search using their tools which may or may not come out accurate, it is better not to rely on one or two analysis, if you can compare to others especially the most popular which talk about the most, then can draw your conclusion.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks either adapt or face death on: October 28, 2021, 06:20:11 PM
The way I see it, I think now that the central bank digital currency are in the lips of almost all central banks of most countries, it will be easier for banks to adopt the cbdc than directly dealing with cryptocurrency, this what the government want, to still have the control over the whole financial system and cbdc is the perfect currency for that, some countries already introducing it and soon others will follow, and probably many people will easily fall for this since not very many people understand crypto and what decentralisation is all about.
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TV Commercials & How they attracting more clients in crypto industry. on: October 28, 2021, 06:10:56 PM
Companies that spend millions to advertise their product knows why they do so, there are millions of viewers watching the game and at the same time seeing those crypto ads and getting curious about the ad,
when that advert is run for the duration of the game am pretty sure quite a number of viewers already making research to know more about the ad, and who knows the number of people who have come in since then because of the ad they saw.
812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What the government expect from bitcoin legality? on: October 26, 2021, 03:26:37 PM
In the case of El Salvador, I believe the government decided to opt for crypto as legal tender in other to rescue their dwindling economic situation by extention will also positively affect the citizens of that country because a healthy economy favours everyone,

If government from other countries decided to take same decision it may not be for the same reason, different countries with different issues (economic, political, religious or otherwise) in the developing countries for instance, such decisions will be mostly to enhance the financial status of the people which also include improving the standard of living, take axie infinity for example, although it is not a legal tender adopt by the government but it has been able to change the lives of people in the Philippines where this game is mostly popular, similarly same thing could apply when the government chose to do this having the people in mind,

Your points are some how related because everyone of them compliment the other, the sole aim of the government is to serve it's people,  providing an enabling environment for everyone, same goal will be achieved if they adopt crypto or introduces another technology.
813  Economy / Economics / Re: Steam bans blockchain games on: October 25, 2021, 06:20:10 PM
As much people wants to see blockchain and crypto adoption, it is very important to prevent any means of exploitation of the naive people in the space, am sure the steam teams have carefully thought it over because taking such decisions, they probably knows many people will fall victims if they allowed it, the hype of play to earn games is so high that many people will easily get burnt, I think they made the right decision if viewed from the naive users point.
814  Economy / Economics / Re: A tale of the two parasites on: October 25, 2021, 06:11:11 PM
This two class of parasites are very dangerous to society, it's growth and development, it's security level because they do more harm than good since they don't exactly contribute positively to the growth of the society,
I think the rich parasites are the most annoying thinking everything are above the laws, always looking for a way to manipulate the system to bend to their demands, the poor parasites are almost like a toothless bulldog, can't do much because of their poor financial status.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some entrepreneurs harvesting biometric data for free crypto on: October 24, 2021, 05:34:04 AM
What are their intentions with this odd requirement! Why will they request for such data if they have good intention which I seriously doubt, and those people doing this, giving their iris data freely for exchange of crypto, what amount are they paid that will compel them doing this! Honestly people should have limits, or they are being exploited unknowingly, I don't think they understand the implications of their actions.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To the Moon, To the Moon, Eventually people got bored fo moon landing!!! on: October 24, 2021, 05:22:12 AM
The space is not limited to a particular number and as such there is room for more and more coins to be created, it is up to project owners to actually make their project worthy of investors attention by creating a real usage to generate demand otherwise they will die naturally and another will come up,
Also if certain investors don't pay attention to this projects they won't have audience, it is left for people to do what is right.
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If the internet is down in the future on: October 23, 2021, 04:52:40 PM
Is there any crypto project that can transacts without the internet? I heard there was one two years ago I couldn't remember the name again but why isn't such project doing so well today? If the internet goes down in future this type of project will be useful don't you think?

Back then the Temtum project also mentioned something similar, it was suppose to be part of the new feature the dev team was working and developing on the project, i know this because i was part of the community then, there was a demonstration of it posted on the temtum official telegram group by the ceo Richard Dennis then, but am not sure if it was successfully concluded and implemented, it would have been a game changer for the project had the team succeeded in it, so far i don't think i have heard of any project lately.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance promoting Shiba Inu on: October 23, 2021, 04:45:04 PM
i don't see anything wrong with that though, why the op have to create a thread just for this, shiba is already trading in binance and coinbase of all exchange (i wasn't expecting this coin to be traded in coinbase within a short period of time) if binance decided to advertise shiba on their platform to show their support to the project that is good and they are at liberty to do so, besides shiba has huge supporters and binance wants to take advantage of that.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best place to get Yield on Stable Coins and other questions? on: October 22, 2021, 03:31:37 AM
I'm not sure anywhere in the defi space will offer you fixed rates on your returns but I'm not too sure how they work - some might.

Sites like https://defipulse.com might provide more information on current interest rates but you should really check the tokens and their credibility before considering investing.

I think decentralised exchanges might be safer that some centralised ones andvice versa so that'll be something you should take on a case by case basis. If you want to forget about your investment though, a dex is probably safer (but both might be at risk of exit scamming if they're not audited).

Centralised exchanges also might be quick to leave users liable too for the exchanges loss - depending on the exchange.

Which De-Fi tokens is know for good credibility?

Okay you know of any good Dex's that have been audited? These Dex's have open-source code right?

Thanks,

From the defipulse website you can see that Aave is the top defi there, perhaps you can do a little reading about it's credibility, and as for dex that has been audited, maybe you should take a look https://cryptopotato.com/only-8-of-all-examined-decentralized-exchanges-are-safe-report/ you will find your answer there.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New to MetaMask help on: October 22, 2021, 03:11:35 AM
Not any erc20 but only the ones that support polygon chain,

If there is a risk of polygon chain being hacked I believe your tokens will be safe provided they are held in your metamask wallet,

The fees to convert back will be determined by the bridge network,

I don't know which cex support deposit of polygon chain,

Metamask is for dex not just for polygon chain since you can add different network to it,

Token conversion time depends on the network, it can be faster or a little longer.
