I think 100 dollars for one coin is imposible thanks to the amount of IOTA. But I think we can hope in 10 next year or two. Anyway I really regret to not to buy when IOTA was ot 0,5

For the price to be $100, the marketcap would need to be around $280 billion. Could be possible in the long term.

Estimates for the IOT market is 10-35 trillion, so even if iota captures a tiny percentage, it will reach $100.

iota is number 5 coin now, it doesn't matter if bittrex list it or not, they made the move. we are too late to buy this coin. we missed the train, let's check out other trains in the station. iota is long gone.

Price was ~2.80 when you said this. Let's check back in a few weeks and see how this holds up.

That iota data has been on bittrex for 3 weeks, so who knows when they'll add it--my guess is they are waiting for the new wallet, but given the volume is closing in a billion dollars, they may be in a hurry to get it done sooner.

2$ looks imminent.

807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 03, 2017, 02:42:06 PM
When is the next hard fork scheduled? Or is it? Can't seem to find a good answer in the announcement thread or anywhere else.

Every 6 months, next one is in March.

Also, Monero's stack exchange is a usually the best place to look--rarely is there an answer that can't be found there.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 03, 2017, 01:46:59 PM
I have a theory. Monero will become the future currency of the darkweb and in the process hit 1-3k in value but it will be targeted by governments at the same time due to the anonymity. Thoughts?

Governments (politicians, military, intelligence, black-ops) have as much use for privacy as anyone, so I suspect that they will want it for themselves and make it difficult for the average citizen if they do go after it.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 02, 2017, 06:30:13 PM
I rooted for XMR, sadly to see DASH overtaking it. DASH seems to be doing so well at recent times
https://www.coingecko.com/en/price_charts/dash/usd
Even when bitcoin hit correction, DASH was the least affected

Yes, dash is number 1, go much higher in future--never break, only go higher and higher, moon land and fly to Mars, Jupiter and beyond.

Shit that is clever, fooled a few pro's.

Meanwhile. I struggle to sell any  coins to cleverly grow a stash.

Good luck to you guys with more balls than I,

Phil

Damn, did the hackers get another one?

No, I just mean I can never quite bring myself to click sell on monero. Even when it looks like a good opportunity.

PS I was rather drunk at the time. Sorry if its not the most coherent post, also did little for my annonymity.  Grin

Looks like someone painted your face while you were passed out too.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 01, 2017, 05:43:12 PM
How is Monero different from Dash? Like, Monero could be cheaper, faster and with more scale than DASH? Because I think in the last month people start to chose Dash over monero and I do not know which one is better now. I do not want hold so many coins and I need to start choosing the coin that I most believe and that could be useful as a currency.

If you care if your coin actually works like cash, use Monero. There's no comparison. But I suggest you learn about cryptography so you can judge that for yourself--asking on a coin's speculation thread is begging for a biased answer.

Don't worry guys. You'll be fine.

TBH, I hope dash makes it to the 2nd spot, or even #1. I'd like to see if dash's cult logic scales.

Ah, the Dash scaling problem.  In a nutshell, the issue is that ultimately not enough people can be fooled into keeping it going.

I think they actually hope we'll weed out those who would question them before they get involved, because the worst thing for them is if they get someone involved and they start questioning how dash works when they are in a position to raise awareness within the group.

It would explain why they actually are on the xmr thread provoking a reaction.

Icebreaker is probably doing them a huge service when he gets on their thread and criticizes dash as he can be dismissed as a "hater," but still manages to push rational investors aside before they get too involved.

"yes, having one guy own a 1000 nodes in 5 amazon hosting locations is decentralized."  Roll Eyes

 Roll Eyes
Still FUDing after all these years.

Decentralized governance means that ownership is decentralized, not that the nodes are scattered over amazon servers. That's factual.

Still not sure if you are stupid or a liar, but glad you still feel the need to watch this thread.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 30, 2017, 04:13:49 AM
Dash's price makes my head hurt, that is all. Smiley

Dude, I got into an argument with two of them on reddit and my head was spinning. They both thought decentralization meant what country the nodes were in--"yes, having one guy own a 1000 nodes in 5 amazon hosting locations is decentralized."  Roll Eyes

It reminds me of the two slimebags in The Big Short. I just imagined one of those douches saying, "Half of them don't even know what node does, they just want to have the decentralized governance experience. You tell them where to buy dash and they'll buy a node with their life savings and think their vote matters."

@ uses

I'll be surprised if it takes 6 months. All of wall street is watching.

Now, the marketplace could dud and the corporate sponsors could pull out. But that's the gamble and it won't take 2 years to get resolved.

When you say all of wall street is watching, do you mean they're watching cryptocurrencies in general or IOTA?

Iota (and Bitcoin of course), the announcement yesterday was a who's who of industry leaders partnering with Iota, so institutional investors will be watching and researching. The marketplace is a proof-of-concept, so a lot of eyes interested in the iot market will be watching also.

Yesterday's announcement was big even by wall street standards.

Well this all sounds very promising. I really like the visual demonstration of the "Tangle" ledger used by IOTA. It can be found on thenextweb.com/hardfork

It still doesn't work...

It does, but I'm sure you get your info from the same people that told you autonomous cars don't exist.

Show me how the "tangle" works without a central validator.

And prove to me that their homespun crypto is safe.

Way to move the goal post.

Are you saying that it can never be rid of the validator? Where's your proof of that?

Nice that you read the Forbes article with links to DAGlabs, but Iota hired outside researchers to validate their code once and for all.

I wish the fud brigade would get better material.

You can take a bow or drop the mic. Huge call on your part.
