821  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any point to start trading with 20$? on: June 06, 2023, 09:55:27 PM
It’s not a big amount but it’s simply what beginners only need so they can manage their losses if ever their trades become unsuccessful. And since they have less experiences with trading, then they should not jump into putting big amount of capital because that will only mean huge amount of losses as it’s rare to see newbies in trading ends a trade with a huge amount of profits.
indeed starting small will really help us to apply the strategies that have been learned in theory, so it remains only to practice and understand the difficulties encountered in the real market. not a few of us will experience a variety of new problems, especially with ourselves personally so struggling must be able to overcome them, and of course there will be many other new things. as time goes by, we will have a lot of experience and be smarter in trading, and I think the capital will increase by itself, so learning gradually will be better
But I'm not sure if that $20 is enough to learn more about trading or just it has gone in a few days.
Of course, I do believe that learning to trade is costly, you can't expect profit in your learning days but losses. This means that we have to commit mistakes first and lose some dollars in order to get the benefit we wanted. Because success doesn't come too easily, we have to get it with hard work and patience, and most of all, we have to spend some money on it.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 06, 2023, 01:23:35 PM
Back to the Teo Lopez fight, i'm now putting some money on Taylor ML @1.56, though I believed that he will KO Lopezbut  I won't underestimate the latter as he might still stand after the bell of round 12 sounded  Grin.

For sentimental favorites, I will go with Josh Taylor to shut down that big mouth of Teo and bring his ass back to the ground. Yes, I will also wanted to see him getting knockout for good or a complete domination with by Josh.

The 1.56 moneyline odds are quite low. I initially thought that Taylor would only be a slight favorite, but with those odds, it makes me question if Lopez is just hyping things up to gain attention, while in reality, he isn't as good. Well, Josh Taylor has already proven that he owns this division, so Lopez shouldn't make excuses if he fails in this attempt. Anyway, good luck, guys. I feel that a KO win by Taylor is more appealing, though risky at the same time.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 06, 2023, 12:54:27 PM
Kyrie trying to get the Dallas mavericks to trade for LeBron is pretty crazy. Kyrie literally almost destroyed the Celtics, walked away from them to the Nets, which he destroyed the team. Then he goes to Dallas, tanks them so hard they miss the playoffs and his answer is to trade for LeBron who he left to prove he could win without… Good luck Kyrie.

Kyrie would like to destroy the Lakers too, LOL. I think LeBron will not leave LA. They had the chance, but they just fell short with newly formed teammates. However, I believe that next season, as long as Davis is healthy, they have a good chance of reaching the NBA Finals because their chemistry will improve. On the other hand, if Kyrie continues with his current behavior, I think there might be a conflict with Luka and fans would not be happy. It's Irving who is the problem here; he has the talent but lacks the right attitude to win.
824  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin for HODL on: June 05, 2023, 09:55:15 PM
If you're trying to use Bitcoin for long term holding, you need to buy a trusted hardware wallet or use a secure device as a cold storage. Despite electrum is trusted and open source, but you're use it as a hot wallet e.g. a daily driver device, your coins aren't safe.

Bitcoin is actually used as a currency based on the whitepaper, although it can be used to store a value too.
But as a starter, I don't recommend using an expensive wallet. In fact, thousands of people are using Electrum Wallet and have no problems with it. Because even using a hardware wallet can't assure 100% as it all depends on how they manage to access their wallet/funds. The best thing that OP must do is to keep everything in secret and never expose his wallet address to any platform as it gives interest to the hackers. Spreading it to another wallet address is one option as well.
825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Failed DCA Strategy When Buying Bitcoin on: June 05, 2023, 09:30:32 PM

If this guy went out and stopped trading and took that big loss, then maybe he really did let go of the loss. But I think he just needs to change and plan a better strategy especially the potential for better bitcoin after the halving can be expected. Of course I don't think this guy has quit forever and tried something else, but maybe he's just waiting for the right moment to move on.
But with that long, I'm sure that person had already seen the best strategy. And yes, I don't think also that this person stopped but a possible scenario is that he/she moves all the funds to another wallet for the safe keep. Because I believe that this person knows what his/her doing and probably saved it waiting for the perfect time to sell and who knows, he/she is also waiting for the next bull run and selling all of it.

Experienced investors don't easily lose, that's what my take. And they will find the best way to survive, not by quitting.
826  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: June 02, 2023, 10:02:12 AM
Earning money online is far superior to working at a physical establishment during the day. Although offline is highly appreciated and difficult. Trading is a great approach to find your true self. It will put everything to the test, including your greed, emotions, patience, discipline, how you handle failure, control, common sense, and resolve. I strongly advise anyone who is going through a terrible time in their life to learn to trade since it provides them a clear sense of purpose other than waiting for jobs. So, which is better, online or offline?
It’s undeniable how online jobs these days have become more profitable than offline jobs. However, when it comes to trading, though it can give us thousand folds of profits, but know that not everyone too is capable to trade and would make trading successful and profitable. Some just keep on losing and eventual quit in the end, the reason why trading cannot guarantee us with sustainable profits unlike offline jobs that really give fixed income at the end of the month.
I agree that trading never guarantees profit which is why it was not advisable to leave our offline job just for this. Because what we get from having an offline job is financial security as we have something to wait for at the end of the month while in trading, we have two possible things happen profit or loss. If we can manage to handle both online and offline jobs, that seems a great idea but if not, must have to consider where we think that can give us peace of mind.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: June 02, 2023, 04:16:35 AM
Hey OP! I suggest that you create a poll listing the candidates who are likely to run for President in 2024. I don't follow the US elections closely, so it would be helpful for someone like me who is not very knowledgeable about the current happenings. Having a list of the candidates would give us an idea of who is running for president, and we can conduct further research on the new names that might appear.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 02, 2023, 03:27:03 AM
The game controlled in defense for Denver, controlled in attack, the coach gave him time to take a break, he woke up when he called timeout.  Cool

Jokic triple double, but in his words the key to Denver's dominance is having 4 of his teammates with double points.

No surprises, @1.30 turned out to be quite high Smiley Now Sunday's game I don't think it will be as easy as this for Denver, Heat will adjust their game and 2 days of rest will allow them to perform better.

With that, I believe the Heat will be able to keep the game close enough to cover the handicap given to them. As for Game 2's spread, with the Heat at +9, I think it's a good idea to take it early, as it already offers great value considering the perception of this series so far. I'm confident that despite the high spread, the majority of bettors will still take it, given the Nuggets' dominant performance in Game 1.
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waiting patiently for the next bull run... on: June 01, 2023, 09:57:55 PM
There are two things I noticed on those altcoins you mentioned here, which will not allow me to invest on them because some researchers discovered something some months ago to give some reasons all those altcoins price will not pump higher soon apart from Ethereum and binance which is the best altcoins to embrace in this season. If you look at the position on those altcoins you mentioned are among other cryptocurrencies, you will come to discovered that their price is too low for such miracle to happen to those that will invest on them for profit purpose. I will advise you to invest little money on those altcoins and invest huge amount of money on Ethereum and binance because the price of Ethereum is about to hit $2000 which will be an opportunity for you to make a good profits.
Those coins are not worth enough to risk, really.
Might some people get their attention because of the hype in social media but not because of its potentiality? We can see its price surging high but for sure, drops are likely to happen after a few months making these investors regrets. If we are playing safe and looking for some assurance, meme coins aren't the best option to take. These coins have no market sustainability, unlike those projects that we know for a very long time like ETH. It actually got the attention but never I think I would invest in meme coins.
830  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Spot trading or future trading which trading is best for beginers? on: June 01, 2023, 09:08:24 PM
Cryptocurrency trading will definitely be risky for anyone, especially for newbies. However, the risk may be different, some are at normal risk, some are high. In this case, newbies should not do futures trading first, because futures trading uses leverage, this might double their income, but on the other hand it can actually waste their money very easily. That's why in my opinion, as long as I understand how, I think Spot trading is better for beginners.
We usually choose the thing that we think it was right and most profitable but that is not the case in trading, as it was best to start from the most convenient way of earning without thinking how much we get, whether it was just small profit or big. As a newbie or a new trader, we can just jump on the platform that requires a high level of trading knowledge and skills. That is why it was suggested to just begin using spot trading, a common place for starters. In this place, we are about to learn the basics and earn experience which would be our stepping stone to another level which is Futures Trading. Not really a requirement but if we wanted to become pro-traders, must start from the basic.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 01, 2023, 11:19:05 AM
Game 1 is tomorrow. Place your bets guys.
Here are the odds for the game.
Denver Nuggets ML @1.27 | -10.5 @2.11
Miami Heat ML @4.00 | +10.5 @1.71

My instincts tell me to test the waters first and go for a non-greedy pick. I am taking the Denver Nuggets (-8.5) only. Adding to my singles is the Over 216.5.
I also have some player props on my mind too but I think I will create my betbuilder later before the game starts just to be sure about the roster of each team. We don't know what could happen during warm-ups or sudden emergency body injuries.

Let's go! Good luck to everyone.

I think the over 216.5 is worth considering, considering that the Denver Nuggets will win. We know that they are a good outside shooting team, so if they control the tempo, it's likely that the game will be high-scoring. Game 1 is the start of an exciting series, but Miami isn't that defensive anymore; they have also improved their 3-point shooting. So, if both teams shoot at least 45% beyond the arc, the total will be easily reached.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 01, 2023, 02:54:14 AM

I don't expect too much in Game 1 because they will just show their strategies on that game.

Please do because game 1 is very important for a game 7 series in the NBA Finals.
According to the statistics ;

Quote
People love to say that a series doesn't start until the road team wins, but that's simply not true. One could argue, in fact, that most series are over after Game 1. Over the entire course of NBA playoff history, Game 1 winners go on to win the series 75 percent of the time (453-149). So far this postseason, 11 of 14 Game 1 winners have gone on to win the series. It's a huge game.

So if we will see that stats, a team that wins game 1 has 75% chance of winning the series, that's why it's very important to win in game 1. Well, obviously, people think that Nuggets will win game 1 as they are still unbeatable at home in the postseason so far.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin on: May 31, 2023, 09:56:16 PM
How is that possible? Are they disabling it just temporarily? because if it's no internet, your problem is not only using bitcoins, you have lots of major problems if you lose your internet in your country. As for bitcoins, if you are just planning to hold them, then you don't have any problem at all because you just need to secure and store them somewhere safe. but if you planning to make some kind of gig like accepting bitcoins as payment as everybody did in their community in recent months, then you don't have a choice but to stop your dream because it won't really work since most people out there don't know how to transact bitcoins in online mode.
Besides, we can find a way to have it. But being on a situation or in a place where all our actions and decisions are limited, that was a dying ambition and no way we commit freedom. I would say it is very unfortunate to someone who lives in a country where we can't find freedom but something we need to accept is that life isn't fair enough. We can see some people fully enjoy their life while some are struggling hard to survive.
Yes, stopping such a decision is a big help as OP can do nothing, he'd rather look for another opportunity instead.
834  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A opinion on regrets on: May 31, 2023, 09:24:47 PM
We regret about missing Bitcoin, then about XRP then about Ethereum then Doge then Shiba then Pepe (these are some top of my head and from what I've come across in my crypto term).

Point being there are always new opportunities and dwelling on regrets is futile.

We have to understand that because we never know what exactly happen in the market in the coming days, regrets seem to really exist. When people missed their opportunity from buying/selling, regrets just come out in their minds, and ask why? Sound like normal to me and multiple times that I was in this situation but I know that not all the time the market gives me a favor, I'd still lose my opportunities no matter what I did and I believe this is normal in the crypto space.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle long shot bets? on: May 31, 2023, 07:53:34 AM
Chasing your losses without setting a limit is a sign of being an undisciplined gambler. I believe you should start focusing on solving this problem, as being undisciplined in gambling often leads to regret in the end. We all know the saying that we learn from our mistakes, so there is no need to repeat the same mistakes over and over; we just need to learn from them.

To enjoy gambling and minimize the risk, it is important to set goals and limits. Having a clear target and limit will help ensure satisfaction and responsible gambling.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 31, 2023, 07:10:15 AM
I don't think there are many players who can keep Jokic. I don't think Bam Adebayo can defend Jokic.
Denver Nuggets will be champions this year.
I think the series will end 4-2 or 4-1.

4-2 or 4-1 yeah that's most probably NBA fans are thinking right now. It feels like Miami Heat is underestimated again in this match up, but Denver is a much better team than the Celtics for sure. I'm curios about what percentage does the ESPN analytics are going to give the Heat this time. If they gave the Heat 3% against the Celtics, they might give the Heat like what 0.3% this time against the Nuggets? because like I said and majority will agree to it that the Nuggets it's a more explosive team than the Celtics. I don't see someone from the Heat who could put a clamp on Jokic and Murray. These 2 superstars are playing on another level that no one in the NBA today have ever played like them so far. Also, there is no lead that is safe for the Nuggets as long as there are time left in the clock. Murray or Jokic can heat up anytime at some point in the game even with a slow start. Saw it many times throughout the course of the post season.

I read similar predictions when the Heat played the Bucks, stating that no one can stop Giannis. However, in reality, the Heat did a great job on him, resulting in a big win for the Miami Heat. On paper, it may seem obvious that the Nuggets would dominate, but at the moment, there's nothing I can criticize about the Heat as they have reached this level of competition from being the 8th seed in the regular season.
837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as a retirement plan for my parents on: May 30, 2023, 09:38:47 PM

They are close to retirement and still believe in saving in banks and buying stocks. I don't really know how I could go about convincing them to invest some idle funds in Bitcoin since my father is kinda headstrong.

IMHO, I really don't think that you need them to convince but to let them decide what they want and what they think is better for them. Because if crypto is not their interest, I don't think it works for them nor they would study it. If they want to invest in the stock market, that is still okay at least they have a plan and direction on what to do after retiring. But stop them from thinking of putting their money in the banks as it won't help them to grow their money, maybe encourage them to go business instead.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: May 30, 2023, 11:13:59 AM
So we will see again how great Inoue is when he goes up to 122 lbs and then face the 2 belt champion this July. This is going to be a good fight, there is no rematch clause though as Fulton might be going up to 126 lbs after this fight win or lose.

There might not be a rematch clause, but that depends on the outcome of the fight. The winner might change his mind and give the loser a chance for a rematch. You know, it's all about the money. If the fans are entertained and the fight generates significant revenue, then why not make the rematch happen, right?
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 30, 2023, 10:55:55 AM
What you guys think on Denver-Miami series? What you would bet on? I think Denver is in advantage and will try to play agressive and make Miami take hard shots, so I would play Miami under first game.

Yeah, in paper and in records, Denver has the advantage with their big guy Jokic and then the resurgence of Jamal Murray, and then they have Porter Jr and then Aaron Gordon. But then again, no one thought that the Heat will reach the finals again with this undrafted lineup but they upset the number 1 and number 2 seed din the East so this is a difficult series to predict. And if we are looking for the underdogs Heat again, then I wouldn't be surprised if they make it and become the NBA champions.

Miami should not be underestimated as they have already reached the NBA Finals. In terms of experience, Miami has the advantage, as their coach has already appeared in the NBA Finals six times, if I'm not mistaken. So, while the Nuggets may have a stronger roster than Miami, in the NBA Finals, I believe experience is also crucial for a team's success.
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What if its falls! Will altcoin survive? on: May 29, 2023, 09:14:12 PM
Some will survive and some dont you can look at the coingecko or coinmarketcap website the dying altcoin is everywhere especially for project who not ready yet or don't have purposes and the downturn is crazy scary it can more than 100% from their ATH and and don't comeback.
With these thousand of crap projects, we can't expect them to survive but a huge possibility that they will die.
Only those projects that play an important role in the market will survive and the others are just what we called, passing projects - they come in a short period of time and then just vanish. That is why we should have to take caution on the projects that we hold because not all of the cryptocurrencies that exist will ever grow.
