Good morning from hot, sticky, sweaty, Bali. (I must be getting old) Better than the snow at home I suppose.

I see the WO's have fired up the rocket memes.  It must be time for Bitcoin price to get interesting again.
All the buys from the past month are looking good from up here. Let's keep this Choo Choo on track, slow and steady releases the FOMO.  Wink

Ya, the cactus, but I'm pretty sure he's not active at all after the drop to 6k, let alone whatever 3k did to him. Sad

I know we're supposed to be capitulating. True story bro! Caught a glimpse of the future.
I met a mid 20's Bitcoiner/robotics engineer out in the wild today. Very interesting chat and I felt the bull stirring again. He believes machines will use a digital currency (likely bitcoin) in the not so distant future once they start to move among us.  Shocked
About a 5-10 year horizon.

I like it ^ nice work!
If you're gonna make hats, should you not wear one to represent yourself?

Three decades from now the earth’s human population will start to decline, and never recover.

https://www.wired.com/story/the-world-might-actually-run-out-of-people/

Quite likely, its already happening in congested cities.  If we are to follow the likes of John Calhoun's rat experiment, I'd say were nearing global maximum well before 3 more decades pass.
Right now is a very special time to be here. I try to enjoy it before I have to remember the way it used to be.

All caught up on the thread finally on a layover in the Narita airport. I see there's new consensus on hat code.  Seems like a harmless soft fork.
I have a friend who has lost everything on quadriga.  I introduced her to bitcoin a couple years ago and explicitly told her not to leave BTC on exchanges for this very reason. Oh well, what else can one do? I still somehow feel kinda responsible for lighting that fire initially which I've also learned from.  I think the secrecy intrigues more people than talking about it anyhow.
Off to SW USA for 10 days. Mmmmm.... Mexican food

New Decree by Executive Order: No pants shitting until BTC goes below $3100.

That is the bottom thus far, set ~Dec 15th.

There will be no pants shitting,
1. The Mayor has run off with my pants some time ago
2. Happy to fill buy orders below 3.1k

But really, I'm almost convinced these sustained low prices are direct manipulation to shut down all the mining cartels. After bitmain and other miners close their doors or are forced to sell significant amount of coins and gear at low prices, only then can prices return, unless the public somehow really jumped on board all at once which is not really happening right now.

OK, so doesn't your government know about how much silver or gold you own? Are you a miner and extract your own gold or silver by digging within your room?
Physical metals are a safeguard against intrusion by govt
We're going digital, you know it and there's nothing you can do to stop it.  Your energy would be better spent working to help bitcoin decentralize.
Decentralize digital assets are the only safeguard against intrusion by govt!

Nah they could force you to hand over all your Bitcoin, KYC also makes sure that they know who owns them. The fight would be that if you really lost them or are pretending they are lost.
Sure, there'd be plenty of boating accidents but I think it'll be a clear resistance.

Torrents making a comeback? Not surprised really. I find it fascinating to watch the torrent community as the uncensored precursor to BTC.

Always wondered why people went to streaming sites instead of just downloading content they wanted to see.  Perhaps it has something to do with years of habitually flicking through channels for random entertainment.
Everything moving in exponential cycles. Bullish!

You set a target in your life. (That usually happens when you are in high school or earlier. The earlier the better.)

If you are smart, the target should be achievable.

Most people with average intelligence usually reach their goals in life. (Making decent money, having a decent salary job, wife&kids, a yacht etc)

If you are smarter, you achieve your target faster than the others. A lot faster. That makes the real difference. I am not that smart but I can identify a smart guy instantly. Most people don't have that talent. :p
Hard work in smart way will make the things easier than others doing.Being in a decent salaried job is not a good achievement it is same as being a slave to king which makes no difference to being a slave to civilian. Do business and start cashflow on your own by hardwork don't work hard to make someone rich (job).

There are two classes, ownership and wage slaves.  You are correct if you are working for a salary you are pretty much a financial loser in the capitalistic society.  I don't think highly of people with money because they are usually scumbags but you have to be an owner if you want to be rich.
Saw your JJG avatar and wondered how he got out of the time out box. I suppose it's time for second chances.

@ roach, you really have nothing in your arguments regarding BTC fungibility vs PM's. Your claims are pure speculation that certain addresses will be blacklisted where miners won't touch it. That has not happened and it's not even close. Until an address or transaction is muted on the main chain or LN you're just spouting  your own conspiracy theory Armageddon fears.
Regarding middlemen/ transaction validators:
I've personally been taxed many times after arriving in airports carrying non personal PM's. If I try to hide them or refuse to pay the tax, my physical PM's get confiscated.  It's not possible to carry significant amounts of PM's abroad unless you figure out how to smuggle them in. There's just one example of a realized middleman for your physical PM's.
Today's commerce largely does not happen face to face with physical exchange and if I'm willing to travel to the merchant who is in another country, how will I avoid such middlemen. Do you suppose I should simply pay the tax on my PM's every time I fly?
Dystopia is believing we will all go back to carrying chunks of metal in our pockets again.
Since you want to fight this "war" and you seem capable enough to articulate, please tell, what future would you have for money if it were to unfold to your liking?

TIL there are quite enough emu war memes on that internet to go round, and that it is seemingly impossible to write a good poem about a heron.

A haiku on a heroin heron heroine?

I have a new first world problem.  The place where I am staying this week has extraordinarily low friction toilet roll holders.   This results in the entire roll of toilet paper spontaneously despooling and puddling on the ground.

Have never dealt with an issue of this magnitude before, I am at a loss how best to proceed.

Simple, wash instead of smear

just being a total prick about it.
favors physical metals - around 80%

Shall we assume you're hedged around 20% BTC?
