No, it's just 14 * number of two-week periods that you've made at least one post, or the number of posts you've made total, whichever is less.  It's basically the number of days you've been active on the site.

dserrano5 said: during each "14 day cycle" your activity increases by one everytime you post.
You say: 14 * number of two-week periods that you've made at least one post.

To me these sounds completely different.

Nov 15th update:

Quote
The Bad news is the delivery of parts which we needed to begin today has been delayed by about 5-10 days

There' no issue with parts, just the guys developing the final revision (hardware, and software) wanted to optimize it further, so it's more ongoing performance improvements.

Which is it?  Did I miss a subsequent clarification?

I was told the same thing while in Stockholm - that there is no issue with parts. I guess it's just miscomunication as usual.

The point of me sharing this is simply to show my excitement and proof that even a noob like me can make this work!

Officially, I cannot condone what you have done! you have voided your warranty. Angry

(Unoffically; Result! Tongue)

Oficially we are not supposed to even open the case or remove modules ourselves, but we do, because we have to and KNC approves it, so this warranty business is like a gate in a field  Grin

Are these controller boards available from KnC in case of a failure? Will the new controller boards be compatible with the current upgrade modules, or vice versa?

No, they don't sell them or at least that's what I was told.

so it's day 6 of the 5 - 10 days.  just wondering if there is an update or revised plan?

21st of Nov today, and the advert for "all orders paid now will be shipped in November 2013" was still running until 2 weeks ago when knc sold out.  So with that in mind, do knc think this will still happen or will only some get there Nov orders in time?

November shipping will most probably turn into December shipping for a lot of people.
You should have learnt by now that this is a trademark of KNC: they say one thing, but another thing happens (not intentionally obviously, but nevertheless it happens).

I have been reading the thread and trying to find out the best pool for a Nov order, so I preconfigure my miner.

I have started a poll on new thread.  Can you please vote.

LINK here soon!

As far as I am aware Eligius and Ghash.io are the only 2 pools that:

  • have fast enough speeds that you don't have no worry about variance
  • have zero fees
  • have merged mining (Eligius gives you 105% NMC while GHash.io gives you NMC, IXC and Devcoin)
  • TX fees are shared between miners

So for a maximum profit these 2 are the best pools.

KNC should delay production and shipment of this batch till January, in my opinion. I think it will be a noble thing for knc to do towards small miners who just get introduced to bitcoin with Erupters and such.

LOL. are you serious or just trolling?

So knc should delay because you forgot to use a bitcoin mining calculator before buying a USB miner?

I have a November order, but I am willing to forfeit some income for greater good.

The grater good?  you want to break even on your usb erupter is not the Greater good.  If you want to do something for the grater good, send money to the Philippines appeal or some money for a Syrian refugee.  Helping someone get ROI on a product that is effective useless is not the grater good.  Sorry to say it but you should have done your homework before buying an obsolete device.

If you want to mine something with this block erupter why don't you try mining PPCoin.  Im sure it's the best solution from here on in.  PPcoin has held fairly steady and once you have a few coins in your wallet for some time they start to mine automatically (Proof of Stake) without any mining hardware/devices

Just me sending money somewhere will have practically no impact. Knc agreeing to delay production will have big impact. Just imagine headlines: "KNC and its customers agree to halt production to protect the network". As the matter of fact, I am receiving a lot of PMs from classy November customers agreeing with me. So, Bitcoinorama, I think it will be safe to assume that the majority of November customers agree for at least a month of delay, and you can relay the message to your superiors.

I don't know what you are smoking , but it is good.

And please tell me, why do you mine at Eligius? Such an ugly site! That Wizkid and his pool.

I mine at eligius because with 11 Jupiters, 3% Fees would have been over 11 Coins already for me that I would have given to BTCGuild or other pools.

Why mine at any other pool when Eligius is 0% Fees? Because you like pretty Stats? Not worth all that lost money.

Also 105% PPS NMC helps out, get an extra coin or two per month. Pool basically pays you to mine there Tongue

Ghash.io has 0% fee, pays transactions to miners, and merge-mines NMC, IXC, and DVC - and their stats page seems to be very reliable.

Do you mine there? Any downsides?

3 modules received today at the same time. However, I AM MISSING ONE SCREW AND SPACER. C'mon KNC! Does anyone know where I can find a suitable replacement?

There are plastic spacers + screws with the Arctic cooler. You can use those.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 20, 2013, 08:42:59 PM
It was 0.99.

Now I went back to 0.98 cause this was the best for me.

So now waiting and watching putty...

What sticker do you have on your upgrade modules? Mine are 1.

Mine are 1 too, but they don't mean anything according to Bitcoinorama Wink
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 20, 2013, 08:23:24 PM
Not bad. I can live with it. (A happy customer) Grin

What firmware is that?
Mine is 844 Gh/s, but I have more WU (11,783) than you, which is confusing.

Is it as absurd as when I said 3 weeks ago that bitcoin would be at par or higher than pure gold within 12 months?  Bitcoin was at $140 then.

Lots were calling me insane then too.

Nope nobody was.

Quote
Or when I said it's gonna get the public ETF license?  Tons called that impossible and absurd.  It hasn't happened yet but it will and that will take bitcoin up to $5,000-$10,000, depending on how this new competition turns out.

Nope nobody said that made you isane either.

Find a single post to cite as a reference.  People call your insane shit, insane.

+1

Just wanted to say congrats to Cyper!  He found a block on bitminter with his new boards  Smiley

It's the 2nd one I find for the 21 days I've been mining. 1st one was on 1st day  Grin

@Bitcoinorama

any ETA on the november batch?
or at least status?

I don't want to commit to something and have it held against me, but this time next week is looking rosy.

So I may be right then, saying that a lot of November orders will turn into December orders.
Oh the advertising  Roll Eyes

No, my crystal ball is not as accurate as you'd like it to be so rather than getting people's hopes up, i'd rather take the under promise mantra and let peeps be pleasantly surprised if all goes to plan.

When I placed my November order my delivery projection was 1st week of December, which by the looks of it will not happen for me.
Now I'm worried I won't get them this year  Shocked

That is the $1000000 dollar question now isn't it?  Literally.

No, the $1000000 dollar question is will BTC reach $1000000  Grin

So although I still think Bitcoin will die [and ixCoin will take over]

That is the most absurd thing I have read on these forums to date.
858  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: November 20, 2013, 12:10:53 PM
I'm yet to understand the formula.

Can someone give an idiot's guide on calculating activity?

Let's assume you joined on Jan 1st. Now go grab a calendar. Set a mark every 14 days starting on your join date (Jan 1st, Jan 15th, Jan 29th, Feb 12th, Feb 26th…). We'll call the period between each marked day and the next one (including the first marked day but excluding the next one, e.g. Jan 29th to Feb 11th) a "14 day cycle" Tongue.

During each "14 day cycle" your activity increases by one everytime you post, with a maximum of 14 posts. Additional posts don't raise your activity until the next "14 day cycle" starts.

Note that the activity is calculated every 30 minutes IIRC, so don't expect your activity to immediately increase just after you post.

Last, don't give this value more relevance than it actually has!

So each post up to a maximum of 14 during that 14 days cycle increase activity by one?
1 post increase by 1
10 posts increase by 10
14 posts increase by 14
15 posts increase by 14

Correct?

Beauty  Tongue

HEY.....where did you get the cool decals..mine is as plain as a baby's butt.....(I also only have one piece of foam on the top of one of my heat sinks missing the other 3 foam pieces.....)

the fiends

very pretty....

Searing

I notice in this and in another photo the rears are almost abutting the wall.  VRMs do get hot and their heat effects the modules.  I put a piece of cardboard between the VRMs and the module and flow air in a tunnel - easy it's a Merc and only a single module so cardboard on the outside of the PCB making the tunnel, the air passes over the VRMs and out the back - being kept sequestered from the module as it were, in addition to the Arctic Freezer w/fan.  When the extra module gets here it will go behind the first as my power supplies will be on the left.  I will probably mount two 2" diag 12v fans on the board blowing right toward the VRMs and perhaps a 120mm fan to the back behind the added module pulling air out.

It's a skewed perspective. I just measured the distance and there is 17cm between the miners and the wall.
