Well, what do you know? Another prediction win, and if I recall, won the last one also by going against Max in almost everything, even in small winning margins. Now I just got to put that freebet on something special, to make up for slipping down to 7th place.

One final race. I feel like only a miracle will prevent our current leader from winning this pool!

Sinner gone given it all away too. Djoker loves it when the crowd's against him, don't they?

And it's a wiiiiin for me after all! Thank you Lukaku, thank you Belgium on this final score that I needed for my win. Congrats Buwaytress on the fight! I would rather win with more scores, but a win is a win Smiley

Yeah, you earned it. Lukaku. Sigh. He didn't need to but he did. This game turned out to be way too easy for you, but I guess it was nice to know my loss earlier in the evening rather than later. Enjoy the points, I'm giving them away like candy now.

Now go away and let me be miserable.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2023 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: November 19, 2023, 06:50:34 PM
In any case, I was lucky once at Superbru and put Leclerc on pole position, it will be interesting to see if he can do the same in the race, Max will certainly try to win the first race in Las Vegas.

That was inspired, really. I did rather poorly, 11.5 points when MoSala's got 16, so I'll feel like it's a hard line to see now with one final race to go. Superbru is annoyingly slow to update so I don't know if Vegas cost me my 6th spot... really not fun to wait haha.

Track seems to be similar like Monza, where Ferrari has been very strong as well. Long straights and a few chicanes seem to be profitable for Ferrari and also cold temperatures, where Ferrari can heat up tires very quickly. It remains to be seen how Ferrari will do in tire degradation, of course. Sain was quick as well and probably he can even get on podium, should he be able to get past the cars in front of him quickly.
Biggest negative surprise was McLaren. Both cars were stuck in Q1 and I'm not sure if McLaren is really competitive here in the race because qualifying was awful.

As you predicted, Norris bombed, struggling McLaren only caught the final points spot -- didn't watch so don't know how Piastri actually managed fastest lap and end up so badly...
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Are you in profit? on: November 19, 2023, 03:36:23 PM
Wait, profit? I thought gambling was entertainment...

Didn't vote, but I generally can say am overall break even. Small and modest successes here and there, utter losses elsewhere, but I set aside a budget every season and expect to set a new one aside every season. Winnings I spend, enjoy. Just isn't that ehat gambling is meant for? Enjoyment?

Oh and OP. You ever wonder why the actual gamblers who post betslips don't generally respond to these kinds of polls? Your first page alone, apart from maybe one or two nams, I don't recognise anyone I know who actually bets snd gsmbles with enough records to answer your poll honestly.

Happy to be proven wrong.

Always been a matter of time for approval, US knows the business goes elsewhere otherwise, but it's not just the market structure that needs to improve (that is true for any asset, of any type). Corporate mismanagement and banking transparency are age-old issues that seem to only deepen. Bitcoin doesn't;t solve that. Bitcoin ETFs only seem to highlight those gaping wounds.

They're rightly afraid of more FTXs.

I actually chose Wales/Croatia yes because I knew my opponent would go yes, but Armenia nicking the point no shock (mind you, it was an own goal so Armenia scored all the goals haha).

Lukaku, I was so sure would be the same pick, didn't expect slackovic to go all-in on Belgium... I'm a big Azero betting guy, but not against Belgium!

Alcaraz, man.

Thanks @Slissy and yes, this was quite a miserable round for you in terms of results, but let me tell you that I do prefer the BSFL thrill to last until Sunday.

Me too. And after weeks of settling things so early, I'm quite happy we have a showdown on Sunday. It's just more fun that way!

Just entered chatroom and it really is as lively as I remember. Even did a few rolls and completed my Quests (I remember doing those a lot!).

Guess LL is excited about Bitcoin mooning (too soon?). Didn't see the old Promo room opening so it was the usual free-for-all in chat. Speed is also seemingly faster than I recall. Good times are back, nice to see LL.

Now that's a rarity -- a book predicting an upset! You had me at "our pick may surprise you" and just threw in my obligatory beer-money-at-underdog-in-a-sport-I-know-nothing-about bet today.

I got just over 4/1 (sorry, not at Betcoin, just Bitcoin network terrible now), no motivation needed to beat Georgia, but you're not the only one. Joe Milton will carry Vols, won't they? Wink
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +93056 units on: November 18, 2023, 03:03:45 PM
Not sure why I forgot to post here when resuming betting this week but I hit 2 pretty decent underdog bets. No harm, I need a losing season, don't I? Wink

Latvia was my pick in the last round of EURO -- they almost had Turkey by the balls despite playing with ten men. An even harder test awaits tonight but I wonder if Croatia is up for it?

100 units at Sportsbet on Latvia to WIN vs Croatia @20.80. Other odds: 19.50. Unit advantage: 130

Running advantage after 36 bets: +3416 (+130)
All-time cumulative: +93,276
Running units after 35 bets (3W|32L): -912 (-200)

it is official, 10 point deduction and back to relegation zone for Everton
at least not on bottom, due to good form in last few rounds

does seem that punishment for Everton is far away from City ruling, but it is what it is, EPL want Everton in Championship, it is on the team to get enough points to stay

Wow. It really happened, feel bad for them but luckily they have been getting those points, while all the promoted teams are on track to be the worst ever in terms of points collected throughout the Premier League era.

Now, why is the Man City load of cases taking so long to resolve? Great question to ask.
871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: November 17, 2023, 11:09:47 PM
Boo Poland, you coulda at least won and not given slackovic a point. Looks like it's down to Lukalu, eh slackovic?

I'm pleased we didn't sign Urgate because the guy has no respect and calling De Paul a dick sucker warrants more than a 10-game suspension. The Uruguay national team players has a long history of abuse, disrespect to opponent players.
You played football? I don't know how it is some civilized countries but I hear stuff like that and worse almost on weekly basis Smiley And I am thinking South Americans are even worse. Bear in mind that Argentina squad is one of the "dirtiest" out there. So I don't exactly understand why this incident gets that much coverage. Is dick sucker so much worse than "hijo de puta"? Which is like good day there and said almost every time some decision is questionable.

Yeah, I've definitely been called much worse in football, generally just really nasty the younger I remember. Think over the years plenty of lipreading video shows much worse. Zidane remembers, and he was the one who got a red card for his sending off (and even a statue haha) while the recipient of his head got nothing.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: November 17, 2023, 06:06:28 PM
Oh wow! I think you won the special yesterday as when I checked the score it was 0-2 for Uruguay. Shocked

Even more of a shock was to see you posting back on the thread!
So congratulations and making an amazing entrance back on to the scene of once you had your success on many moons ago @buwaytress !
We all here missed you especially me my friend. Grin

Haha yes, it was a really nice win, yesterday was really good for me after a run of two bad weeks in "regular" football. As I hoped, Suarez didn't play, allowing the full extent of Nunez to win it with a goal and assist. That guy is pure, unadulterated chaos.

I haven't been paying attention to specials lately because of my style (I hunt for high-odds as you know) so seeing that Uruguay special was timely as I'd bet on them anyway knowing their form, very delicious to get such a special after a long absence.

I'll show up here every now and then, just make sure SB keeps those high value picks coming Wink
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: November 17, 2023, 04:14:22 PM
You know what I learnt today? Dejan Kulusevski is... Swedish!

I literally thought I was alone on this new knowledge, I had to doublecheck if it was the same Dejan Kulusevski, I don't know I didn't know for all this while, was this is first international cap ?

Just checked and it's 18 caps... stretching back to last EURO..! So I'm really surprised I didn't know it too, I really rate him as a Spurs player, just always assumed he was Balkan from his name, and also I do follow results, just never really paid attention to player names until his popped out last night.

So Sinner won against Rune and that should be enough for him to qualify for the seminar final. That's a point for me due to Buwaytress making a mistake while submitting his answers. But the problem is that Uruguay managed to win 2-0 against Argentina which us something I didn't expect. After all, Argentina is the world champion so I wonder what happened there...

Yeah, but to be fair, even if I entered correctly, you'd still win (my Rune vs your Sinner), so deserved point for you =) Now please Lewandowski, take it easy tonight and let me win =D

To answer your question, what happened to Argentina was Darwin Nunez. It's not just the goals he's getting in internationals but the way he plays there. Imagine Klopp pressing + Bielsa aggression (Slaman you were right about him, say what you like that he runs teams in league but he is perfect for international). Nunez literally terrorises defenders, and while Argentina are no strangers to that, this is a new level of Uruguay offence that is a huge departure from Suarez+Cavani style streetsmart football. It's the most direct lineup I've seen in recent times from S America.

It wasn't even just the football atmosphere, but that Sportsbet's owners actually came down to chow down kebabs and beer on the streets with a complete normie, just because of their passion for bitcointalk and crypto. And then getting to meet Steve all over again later on, meeting up with forum friends? Cherry on top.

Great post, buwaytress.

I remember that forum competition and prize very well. I lost out on the trip by one goal but if I was going to lose out to anybody, I’m so glad it was you, a fellow Liverpool fan and top guy.

Bittersweet for me to nick it off you... I remember the winning pick and how I won it. Total goals scored for the final round of UCL group stafe games. I picked magic 23 as Carragher's always been my fav Scouse, and Ansu Fati scored that final 23rd goal for Barca.

Turned out meeting you (again, courtesy Sportsbet) 2 years later was as memorable. We lost to West Ham but the next day it was also Bitcoin ATH day as we were watching F1, seemed appropriate that I meet a Bitcoin Liverpool legend and BTC goes to the moon!
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: November 17, 2023, 11:04:30 AM
This was undoubtedly a profitable odds, but when I see such results, I always think about the fact that I have to go to the end (sometimes) and bet not just on the underdog winning, but on winning with a handicap of -1 goal. Imagine guessing a handicap game like this. The coefficient was probably 15-20.

Remember what I told you about Asian teams vs Scandinavia/Nordic teams in Euro? Bookies still think they are big underdogs but they are technically very good these days, no stars but physical, while Norway, Sweden, especially (I would add Finland and Iceland) continue to be seen as favourites despite quality dropping.

I took early 8/1 but close to match it was actually 9/1. Handicap was 16/1!

Wasnt an expecting such an easy win from Azerbejan. They dominated the entire match even with a red card they score one more goal this shows just how bad Sweden is and a change needs to happen fast. A really good odd on Azerbejan and an easy win. Good single bet.

Odds won't be this great next season. Bookies will realise it Smiley

Although the match between Sweden and Azerbaijan didn't decide anything and maybe that's why the Swedish team didn't play at full strength and they decided to protect themselves from injuries. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan played very confidently and they won deservedly.

Sweden form has been bad for a long stretch. Value!

As far as I have learned from Steve you bet exactly 3 btc on the betslip above.

No, only 2.99 BTC haha
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: November 16, 2023, 10:11:21 PM
^ I like Argentina odds too but I really really like the Uruguayan forwards (yes, probably because of Nunez being a Red).

The only thing I didn't quite like to read was Suarez's inclusion. I know he's been getting goals in his new life in S America but I hope he's an option rather than a starter. Agent of Chaos, do your thing!

877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: November 16, 2023, 08:54:58 PM
Did not expect Bulgaria to comeback win draw this tie... not after playing most of the match a man down! I wasn't even surprised about Azerbaijan winning (incidentally making it 3-0 AFTER surviving red carded too) and Georgia almost beating Scotland -- I've been singing the praises of these Central Asia and Caucasus teams for a while, at the same time believing that Scandinavian football is regressing.

Meaningless to my round, though I'd have liked to build my goals scored count. You know what I learnt today? Dejan Kulusevski is... Swedish!

Oh, and India-Australia cricket final. Surprise...

I hope that I can win 3 points after the Argentina-Uruguay match tonight. I was going to be much more comfortable in this round if I didn't lose to buwaytress.

Shhh, we already got away with it, don't remind people.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: November 16, 2023, 06:39:42 PM
The performance of the Sweden national football squad were quite horrible as they have lost a lot of games in major tournament. They had somehow only managed to win most of their previous games in friendly matches against other teams, I think playing against Azerbaijan today might be a good chance for Sweden players to regain some confidence as it should not be a tough task for Sweden to claim a victory against Azerbaijan at the end of the match.

Yeah, think I made quite a bit predicting their downfall and today the odds for them really appeal to me. As long as I get these kinds of odds with Central Asian teams, I always think it's worth it.

It's not even about team news, it's just the form and value. 1 in 8 times only to win, that has to be an underestimation of Azeri football... or an overestimation of Swedish football.

10 mins to go before I can claim my win =)

So they had these memories of Bitcoin and thought this was the best way to celebrate or honour those memories?

Sait it before, I have no problems with people using Bitcoin for whatever they want, if the rules allow, but I guess I struggle to understand how they were inspired by Bitcoin's early experiments to result in this.

Guess that's why I'll always be a normie.
