I'd use a wildcard - I just don't know what changes to make. I do like my team now, I feel I might want to switch out a player or 2, but it seems logical to wait until GW 17/18 to make the necessary changes.

Keep in mind, longer you wait more price hits you will take on some assets.

This is the main issue with wildcards though - the cost of using one is often way too high.

And there is always this wild card curse most because you project your team for a potential 5-10 games weeks ahead, and just after the first or second game week things often goes south, and there some players that just pick irresistible form that you might need to change your team shape for, or an injury, at least that's often the case with me, my wild card are often a waste of chip, except when I'm chasing a blank week or towards a double fixture, it just never work for a long term plan for me.

_____________

Arsenal vs Sheffield United, what other fixture could be worth a triple Arsenal assets, bar the lack of fitness of a couple of them and Jesus Gabriel could miss out too, but one can't possible go awfully wrong with some Arsenal defense and Martinelli / Saka or Odegaard, while their next run of fixtures aren't so bad either.

Phew, after that loss in the 1st round I thought that Div 1 is hard. This will be a walk in the park.

Quote for reference, I've seen several mafia boss will beg for mercy when the get nabbed often movies and sometimes in reality too Grin

____________

Still nothing different between myself and @slackovic, I didn't notice earlier that there is nothing much else to look out for in our match until the final two games, I only need one of the remaining last 2 questions to keep my 100% record start to this season going, New Zealand vs South Africa sure would be a tough one for me, I however, have a bit of hope to bag the final Dota 2 question.

tomorrow is friday again and so the 9th matchday starts with the game bochum vs. mainz. its a game in which both clubs need a win to get some breathing space and not to lose the connection to the other clubs.
and to make sure that all participants are treated equally and submit their picks in time, here is my usual reminder to those who have not yet submitted their picks

Thanks for the reminder, I thought I submitted my picks over the weekend already.

I guess I just mistake it for the UCL predictions I made and I probably would have reviewed my picks at some point tomorrow, but the reminder still helped, thanks.

Frankfurt vs Dortmund would be my go to game, If I'd be streaming any of this round matches, that should be an interesting match.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 26, 2023, 12:46:08 PM
I decided to toss up a little parlay to get some multi bet excitement going for tonight’s games. I got the Nuggets beating the Lakers and the Suns beating the Warriors. I think KD is going to come out like a man on a mission. Just to spruce things up a little bit more, I added in a Wilder win for this weekend’s boxing match up.

1 day into the new basketball season and so far I’ve predicted every game correctly and won my multi bet. Will I be able to keep the parlay streak alive for a second game? Probably not, but I’m here to try. With 12 NBA games scheduled for today, it will be a little more difficult, but for now I’m happy to be at 100% accuracy with my picks.

Last night was the worse day to go for player props' as I couldn't figure which players are the new starters or bench and role players for majority of the teams, I believe it will take a few more games to be able to finally know which players what coaches have decide as their starting 5 for the season all things being equal.

There were also a lot of anomalies with line spread and over/under, I guess that's a normal phenomenon when there are 12 games for the night, it's very tough to get every spread the right way.

___________

Today's fixture looks rather more straight forward with the two games, Lakers against Suns, and Milwaukee Bucks vs 76ers, I think I'll be backing the favorites in both fixtures.

My disappointment in Newcastle is immeasurable. How they can go from looking like one of the strongest offensive teams in Europe to just become flat on the back of one injury on Isak is beyond me. Good on Dortmund though, they aren't as bad as many painted them out to be and they probably should be in the running for making it through.

I think we all just over estimated them and had them by the standards of their performance against PSG, but If we considered their very first game in the group against AC Milan we'll remember that they were very mediocre, however, Newcastle were quite unlucky against Dortmund, they deserve at least one point from the game, it wasn't just their day to be, the hit crossbars a couple of times, Dortmund handled the pressure quite better, I must say and were still pushing to get one more goal whenever they catch Newcastle on the break.

Finally I won a yellow cap, first place and free bet in this Superbru round, but it was really hard won battle.
Does anyone where I should send my Rollbit account name for free bets?

AFAIK, 2buwaytress would reach out to you for that, or you can just send it to him.

Congratulations  Wink

And there goes another point down the drain because of Lee's goal for PSV. 2-0 victory wasn't good enough so they had to ruin me with this last goal in the 89nd minute. Too bad but there are still 2 or 3 different answers between me and Harkorede so fingers crossed.

I couldn't have been any happier when I saw that goal went in, Milan were completely dominated today, I expected a very marginal scoreline knowing how wasteful PSG have been, and how uncreative Milan can be too.

---------------

The game were I expected tons of goals from that group's fixture is Newcastle vs Borussia Dortmund which ended with just one goal, Newcastle were extremely unlucky, they easily should got a couple goals especially after half way into the 2nd half, Dortmund kept their composure for the rest of the while Newcastle were throwing in all form of attacking questions. I guess we can expect another thriller in Signal Iduna Park in 2 weeks for the return fixture, craziest group indeed!

I couldn't find a perfect few upsets to put a few stake points across, so I opted for an all in on Arsenal against Sevilla, I would say at some point I was starting to regret my choice, but I knew Sevilla were really bad recently and their only decent performance being against Real Madrid during the weekend.

Even though it was quite tough to watch Arsenal after Sevilla had pulled a goal back, and Gabriel Jesus being forced to be substituted for Eddie Nketiah, and Sevilla were overwhelming the Arsenal's defense and I thought we might just have another game like the one against Lens. I'm glad to have earned 18.5 points with my chips for this week  Cheesy

There were no upsets at all yesterday night and the bookies must have lost tremendous amount of money from yesterday games. This means that in theory wait a lot of upset results during the games of tonight although it may not look like it,even if tonight we get no upset at all then it is a sure thing that in Europa League and Conference League we will see lots of them.

I hit again at the Pot B and staked everything on Real Madrid which won but not as easy as I thought it would have been for them during yesterday game.

Congratulations to you as well, once buwaytress posted the Odds, I had just about 3 to 4 possibility in my mind, that being Napoli, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Arsenal, I couldn't settle for Napoli or Bayern Munich because I felt their respective opponents too are tough ones and Galatasaray particularly have some really experience players, while Napoli I think there is still trouble in paradise concerning their in-house and and inter-players relationships, leaving me with either Real Madrid or Arsenal, Arsenal became the best choices in terms of risk-rewards ratio, so, I was very fine with put all my chips in, glad that it paid off, and I don't have to keep looking over my shoulder for today's matches. I'll just use the period to navigate the reverse fixtures which will be the games fixtures for the game week 4, and see if they're big teams playing away from home then that could probably have their odds increased or potential upset worth tailing, Group B and Group F are my most likely targets for now.

The never ending wait is finally over and we have something to cheer up for everyday yet again as far as the NBA is concerned, we have the Lakers vs Denver Nuggets which just tipped off a few seconds ago, I have the game on Over 225.5. as well as a couple of players props.

I could not pick a side because Jokic have been off anything basketball after the NBA finals, so I'm just going to enjoy the feeling of having NBA back going more into the mode from tomorrow, hopefully.

Sorry but I am not running a charity here, this was always a paid service.  Wink

No one is asking you for charity here mate, and the later part of your statement is technically wrong this wasn't always a paid service, as you didn't at any point made payment necessity known before providing the service and neither did you specify any amount until you were done (or almost) with it and you also decided to specify a payment deadline at the very same instance (if you don't think that's unprofessional, that's fine.), that of course I literally had no issue whatsoever with, and I told you I'd ask Trofo to pay you over the weekend and I honestly forgot to inform him, and then I asked for your TRC20 address which you sent ~24 hours ago, but here you are with this antics.

NB: Payment has been sent to address you provided to me via pm, do confirm it, please.
Good luck with your service and see you around  Wink

Even though I finished the last season as the champion I couldn't win any free bets. I'm very happy to win free bet on the first week of this season already. I liked the change of rule very much. Smiley

Does that mean you're trying to have a reserve scenario for the new season, I feel bad for losing out on the basis of the new first submission policy, because I've never submitted late.

I understand the need of the rules, and in total agreement with it!

Congratulations on getting the first one this time mate!

Back in the first season when I had all wins in the entire season I think I got only one freebet during the whole season. But I will always trade freebets for the season champion title. I know that with few winning bets I could probably earn more than the first place reward, but the title gives me the right to brag Grin

The bragging rights is a major flex and nothing beats that, you see how quite Igebotz have been while plying his trade in the 2nd Division  Grin

I just discovered that you're my my opponent for this second round of fixture, and there also some big names too playing against each other, it's pretty much going to be an interesting round I believe, we have mv1986 vs casperBGD, buwaytress vs cls63 and jeremypwr vs LTU_btc all in a single round  Shocked

Division 1

Cls63 - 40$ freebet winner

Cls63, Harkorede and mv1986 had the same amount of points so we proceeded to H2H.
Harkorede had the best tennis answer across the league - which made him win a point there already so that H2H question wasn't counted.
For DOTA all members had 2 points - so early submission wins.

I think that I have collected quite good amount of points this week. However I haven't been able to collect the points I wanted from my Darwin and Højlund preferences on forwards yet. I'm very happy to be in top 10 still when I think about my first season performance. I hope that I can manage to finish the fantasy league in a position that is enough to win a prize at the end of the season.

I think Man United would be a good team to invest in, but I don't think it will be from an attacking stand point for this season, I'll leaning towards them defensively when get most of their backlines back, and hopefully Andre Onana's price would have dropped by a few more 100 grand, and hopefully Dalot too!

But it's incredibly challenging to persuade someone who thinks Nunez is superior to Halaand.

He's not, FPL wise. I'm a gambler is all =D

not sure why do you think Nunez is better than Haaland anywhere
but Haaland is not the same without assists from De Bryune, that is what anyone can see, and maybe not that necessary in teams after all
problem is that there is no value in 8+ million midfielders, you can stuck with Rashford for 3+ million more than average midfielder that is getting similar value

so Haaland stays in my team
but will reconsider Beto, expected from him to lead Everton attack, and he is now nowhere near first team

Fu**ing Posteglu or whatever the h*ll his name is deprived me of extra 5 points for Destiny Udogie, and all I need was just for him to be on the pitch for only 4 minutes more to hit the minimum 60 minutes required to earn a clean sheet point and the an extra 1 point  Angry

Given the state of my team, I would say it's a really good week for me to say the least, and for the fact that I didn't need to make any adjustment in terms of transfer.

@Igebotz, I won't be transfering Botman out just yet, he'll be on the bench for those games weeks, there are no defenders with tempting returns that I'd rather trade him for, If I had the extra bank roll, Botman for Trippier would have been the call for me, so I'll likely just wait it out.

I also submitted my answers as well, I did at the very first go there wasn't much to deliberate on here, it's in God's hands now!

I don't believe there should be any form of late submission whatsoever for this round because there isn't any game that's needed to be waited upon, @Trofo and Cryptofrka, I still can't find out who my opponent for the round is.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: October 22, 2023, 09:49:23 PM
I felt better until kickoff  Grin - The bottom line is that no GK is worth buying or shipping out at -4. I currently have two of the finest options in Areola and Onana, and I plan to keep both until the end of the season.

68 points with three Tottenham assets left to play (Pedro Porro, Son, and Maddison). I could get my first 100 points of the season if both Son and Maddison haul and Tottenham keeps a clean sheet.

Onana getting 3 points against rock bottom Sheffield United isn't worthy of any praise If you ask me, but an extra 2 points is very valuable if you didn't have to take a -4 points hit.

It's obviously my best round so far too, why having Son, Maddison, and Destiny Udogie yet to play and I've been able to accumulate 71 points already.

Not praising him I'm just saying I'd rather have his trash than take a -4 hit to bring in another useless GK. When Martinez and the rest of the team are fully recovered, I believe Onana will flourish.

We have a similar setup, but your bench isn't looking well, and you've already taken WC?

Yes, I used wild card a couple of weeks ago, just two after I had to take more than a significant double digits points hit, but I'm actually not owrried about my bench I have two free transfers at the moment I'll be using only just one, my starting xi is as perfect as I would want, so I only need one more slightly above mid player, and my bench as solely full of defenders so I barely bothered, I however will be using just one Free transfer this week just so it doesn't go to waste.
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: October 22, 2023, 09:17:19 PM
How do you feel now about Areola being a better choice? It isn't over until they both play and now when they did Onana has 3x the points of Areola. Not a big difference since both were poor but I am happy with my call to bench all defenders from Villa - West Ham game, was a bit afraid about Cash must admit.

For some strange reason I thought I was still reliant on Milan tonight but completely forgot yesterday I knew Bellingham scoring or not would decide my fate already. GG LTU_btc... scores do not reflect how close the round was but I'm happy with my three points.

Milan with 10 Ken and pulling out Pulisic does not look good for me anyway so I am happy.

Don't think we've ever had questions so early either bit given the first round fiasco, I think this extra time will be most welcome.

This might be it for AC Milan, Locatelli have just put Juventus ahead with a great stunner, although influenced by an heavy deflection. I really don't how AC Milan would respond to being one man down and now trailing by a goal, but to be fair before conceding the goal AC Milan seemed pretty much like the team with advantage and were on the front foot, it's left to be seen if this goal will be enough to break their strong will.

______________________________

The new round is another interesting one at that, especially with the fact the questions are mixed heavily across several sporting events, I haven't checked who my opponent is yet, I'd rather have my first answers draft saved so that who my opponent is doesn't influence how I think about the answers.  Cheesy

GL everyone!

congratulations from me - i have forwarded your nicknames immediately Smiley
general overwiev will follow...

This has got to be one of the closest round, If not the closest round so far in this competition, lowest point being 11 and highest is 19 points with vast majority of the others lying between 13-18 points, I think this is even the closest round ever, and it's not even up for discussion.

I was a victim of marginal goal differences and that ended up hurting my chances of closing in on pack leaders, being able to maintain my spot, while not losing significant point difference from the leader is something I can live with for this week.
