Taking some action with DPC WEU later tonight.

Liquid vs OG. This is obviously Team Liquid's game. They are still perfect in this regions 6-0 and dropping just 1 map. While OG has lost to Nigma endangering their slot for Lima Major in the process.

Tundra Esports vs Gladiators. Tundra's game is quite boring, but they are consistent in winning. The reigning TI champion will probably win over GG.

Team Secret vs Team Nigma. Both teams are fighting to keep their current division and avoid relegation. Though they may be on equal footing but Team Nigma has shown better games lately. Favoring Nigma to win over team Secret at this series.

I guess Nigma is next to fall into division 2. But the most interesting part are the last games of GG, OG, and Tundra. Entity seems like a sure win over Nigma and a chance to earn tickets to Lima.
Nigma still got 2 matches remaining, against Team Secret and then with Entity. Both Team Secret and Nigma are in danger of being relegated to division 2 but, only one of them is going back to division 2. But the chance that Nigma is better because even if Team Secret beats them, they still have a chance to retain division 1 if they win over Entity. Nevertheless, any of them might be kicked out of division 1 and will have to join the others on division 2.

Nigma has no problem being relegated to Division 2 since they spend most of their tournament on this division during the second half last year but they dominated completely Division 2 which makes them come back again easily. I believe Team Secret going there will be bad since they are still on adjustment phase due to the current roster change.

ATF and Sumail are very good carry on Nigma. They can beat Entity and Team Secret if they can maintain the performance level that they show on OG fight. I’m surprised how strong all the teams on WEU right now. Very fresh roster on most of the team yet they are still very strong based on the recent matches.

I am not sure if Nigma is strong enough to beat Entity. Entity is quite strong this season. Entity was able to beat strong teams like Tundra and OG. Even with the performance they had against OG, that might not still be enough to get through Entity. Nigma better have a perfect game to stand a chance against Entity right now.

Though, I think they can beat Team Secret who are still in disarray right now with their new roster. That may be enough to retain their current division.

With the performance that Nigma pulled yesterday against OG, I think they have the chance to retain Division 1. They lose badly on the first map but were able to return the favor to OG on maps 2 and 3. If they can sustain that kind of aggressiveness against Entity and Secret, they will be able to pull wins and retain their current division. Team Secret was able to win their first match, but that was only against ITB. Nigma was able to beat OG which is way better than ITB. I think between Nigma and Team Secret, Nigma will win. A close match but Nigma has the upper hand.

Taking some action on DPC WEU matches later tonight.

Of the 3 matches tonight, I think the games between Tundra and Entity will be the most exciting. OG vs Nigma and ITB vs GG will be boring since OG and GG are way too powerful against their matches. Nigma is performing very poorly this DPC tour and OG can easily beat them. ITB lacks experience to win against GG. Tundra will totally win against Entity but I think entity will still give a good fight.

Navi have between now and then to counter strat that match, maybe its all down to their coach to determine the next match result between them.     The only highlight I saw from that match is Niko getting killed three times in a row through smoke without being able to do anything about it.   Kudos to him and the team not losing it that point and struggling to a loss.
Navi are not on their top performance for whatever reason, when or if they get that back I dont know theres extenuating circumstances clearly

G2 are just extending their good performance from last year. Monesy is continuously improving and proving to be a good find for the team. With guidance from Niko, this young player will achieve a lot of things in CS. There maybe some missed plays here and there, but they are quick to correct their mistakes.

Navi has been subpar in performance since late last year.  But you cannot always put a good team down. This team will recover and expect good performance from them soon.

^Sorry about your parlay @jakelyson. The one team that lost was the least expected of all. Boston Celtics. That's also the single team that I lose today.

2/3 for today.
I was expecting a perfect bet but one went on a rough road.
Boston Celtics were defeated by Orlando Magic. They started the lead with Paolo Banchero leading the way and they just preserved it. The absence of Williams III made it possible for Carter Jr. to dominate the paint.

Milwaukee Bucks didn't give a headache to the gamblers who bet for them. Started a blowout, and ended the game with the same output. Long rest for Giannis.

The Chicago Bulls bet also won and covered even the max handicap. With DeRozan back, their offensive power got deeper and Atlanta Hawks struggled to stop them.
Congratulations to all the winners.

Actually, two bets of mine were not sure to hit. It was Boston Celtics since they are missing Marcus Smart and Jazz -5.5.

I am not hitting my parlay in NBA lately. Maybe I would switch to a single bet in the meantime.

Nice pick, although Grizzlies seem to look like the better team they are inconsistent. Home court advantage is big in this game, Kings are playing at home while the Grizzlies came from a tiring performance against the Suns because they are exerting all effort to come back and win, but fall short.

Kings are fresh, while Grizz are tired. I think that's the best comparison to make.

And I was right the Grizzlies can not be trusted because they are now inconsistent they are just fast with their mouth claiming they are number 1 in the west and there is no team that is a threat to them in the West anymore, and they are a Dynasty kind of stuff that you will know it is all just in their heads, typically right now I don't like the Grizzlies anymore their attitude and the way they say things they can not make a stand to it, it is obvious that they are not prepared for the worst,

I am losing interest in the Grizzlies as well. Ja Morant is acting too much for someone who has not achieved anything yet in the league. They are still a good team just a bit inconsistent and too much talk.

LA Lakers are moving.
https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1617584801686650881?s=20&t=gZ7oPDK2QzSg3-yhg2BTpw
Quote
Finalized deal: Rui Hachimura for Kendrick Nunn, 2023 second via Chicago, 2029 LA second and and less favorable of 2028 Washington/LA seconds, sources tell ESPN.
I don't know why Nunn, he had his good runs whenever they are undermanned but if he won't be used regularly then perhaps this is a better deal.
Rui Hachimura on the other hand had been shooting lights out in Washington, he is one of their to-go player whenever they badly needed a three.
So, I guess this is a good take from the Lakers to spread the floor more.
Here's the detailed trade agreement.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/35511046/sources-lakers-nearing-deal-wizards-rui-hachimura
Quote
Hachimura, 24, had grown unhappy without a rookie contract extension in the preseason and became less of a priority with the emergence of Kyle Kuzma in the Wizards' frontcourt.
Washington Wizards will be building around Kuzma and Beal.
Expect more movement coming in as we get closer to the trade deadline. The question is, who's next?

That is actually a good acquisition by the Lakers. They badly need outside shooters since their stars are not consistent in shooting outside shots. At least now, they will have a legitimate threat in the 3-points area. But I do not think this is enough to propel them to a playoff spot. They may need to acquire another role player that can help them.

Detriot Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks @ 1.17

The Milwaukee Bucks  (29-17) will visit the Detriot Pistons (12-36) tonight at Little Caesars Arena. The Milwaukee Bucks are heavily favorite in this match up and betting ML may not be worth it if not added to a parlay.
Bucks key injuries: Serge Ibaka (personal reasons) out
Pistons key injuries: Marvin Bagley III (hand) out, Killian Hayes (shoulder) questionable, Isaiah Stewart (shoulder) out

Orlando Magic vs Boston Celtics @ 1.32

The Boston Celtics (35-12) will visit the Orlando Magic (17-29) tonight at Amway Center. The Celtics are looking to extend their 9-game winning streak against the Magic. They are the heavy favorite to win this game.
Celtics key injuries: Malcolm Brogdon (personal) out, Marcus Smart(ankle) out, Robert Williams III (knee) questionable
Magic key injuries: Jonathan Isaac (knee) questionable

Utah Jazz (-5.5) @ 1.66 vs Charlotte Hornets

The Utah Jazz (24-25) will host the visiting Charlotte Hornets (13-34) tonight at Vivint Arena. Taking this straight Moneyline is not worth it especially if Ball will not be able to play.
Hornets key injuries: LaMelo Ball (ankle/wrist) questionable, Kelly Oubre Jr (hand) out
Jazz key injuries: Kelly Olynyk (ankle) out

Portland Trail Blazers @ 1.26 vs San Antonio Spurs
Portland Trail Blazers (21-25) will host the visiting San Antonio Spurs (14-32) tonight at Moda Center. The Blazers are coming from a tough loss against the Los Angeles Lakers 121-112. They will be eager to win this game against a tanking Spurs.
Spurs key injuries: Devin Vassell (knee) out

And has anyone ecen noticed this? SEA is definitely a region that has always the tight competition, but when faced with other regions I can't help but feel sorry for them for losing most of their games against teams from different regions.

SEA teams do not have the discipline that other top regions have like China, WEU, and EEU. We have good players but, in the game, they sometimes forget their discipline and loses to top teams in another region. Maybe these new teams in the SEA will bring better success against the teams in other regions. I think it was already a long time since we have a successful team from SEA in TI.
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: January 23, 2023, 11:16:45 PM
Team Liquid is dominating too much this tour that I am inclined to believe they will not lose a map this tour. So I am betting this game to be under 2.5 maps. Gaming Gladiators are good but Team Liquid is almost perfect in drafting and executing their plays.

Thats a pretty safe option right there, I mean I would go for Liquid -1.5 on this game just to increase the odds but under 2.5 maps works as well in case GG somehow win 2 maps in a row. Pretty slim chance there because Liquid is so dominating this season with their new roster, they might even make it to TI this time through DPC points

Too bad for my parlay, Gaimin Gladiators were able to win the 2nd map thus losing my bet. I was not able to watch the first two maps but on the third map, Team Liquid totally dominated Gaimin Gladiators. Team Liquid is still at the top of the ranking in WEU.

Too bad for your bet with ITB, Team Secret suddenly found their grove and made perfect drafting and execution of their play. They dominated ITB in both maps. I think with this win, Team Secret still have a chance not to be relegated back to Div 2 if they win against Nigma on Friday.

Better luck next time for both of us.

It'll be impressive if they somehow win the series since this could easily secure them a spot for the major given the remaining series they have in the next few days.

I think they will qualify since top 4 will qualify for major. Their remaining games are against Tundra and ITB. I think they can win against ITB. Unless Entity will be able to beat Tundra, then GG is quite secured with their spot.

I do hope Talon will make it to the Major.

Only 3 teams will qualify in major from SEA. Execration and Geek Slate are pretty much secured in their major slots. Talon needs to win their 2 remaining matches and Blacklist to lose 2 games. I think Blacklist can beat both Boom Esports and Team SMG. So, it is very hard for Talon to qualify for now to Major. But we will see how things will turn out.

Defense is a big role when it comes to playoffs and again, let's see the Celtics last season and how good they are defensively. Their defense is the main reason why they entered the NBA Finals. Overall, I don't see the Kings that dominating in the playoffs.

The Kings are a very young team. I do not expect them to dominate the playoffs but getting there with this young roster is already an achievement. This team needs experience in the playoffs, and it is good that they are getting it. With the right management, this team will be dangerous in the years to come. Just like the Celtics, when Tatum was not so successful in the playoffs as well but the Celtics sticked to their young cores, developed them and now they are reaping the fruits. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are now at their peak and ready to take the championship. I think the same can be expected with the Kings if they play their cards right.

Taking some action with DPC WEU later.

OG vs Entity

For me, OG and Entity are almost equal in power. I think this will go the full match and over 2.5 maps.

Team Liquid vs Gladiators

Team Liquid is dominating too much this tour that I am inclined to believe they will not lose a map this tour. So I am betting this game to be under 2.5 maps. Gaming Gladiators are good but Team Liquid is almost perfect in drafting and executing their plays.

914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 23, 2023, 09:43:30 AM
2 early losses, damn.
Miami Heat did not cover the spread as the New Orleans Pelicans keeps on fighting back, not CJ, but more Trey Murphy and Larry Nance contributions.
Heat won but the smallest was -6.5 before the game started so I don't think anyone won except for live bets. Lucky for those who took the +7.5 Pelicans. @Baofeng Congrats.

Chasing my losses.
Denver Nuggets ML @2.25 while they are down by 5 points in halftime against OKC thunder. No Jokic, but I think they can still make it thru with Murray, and Gordon covering the need for their offense.

Warriors vs Nets - Nets +8.5 after the first quarter @1.80. I hope I can somehow get it back.
Good luck.

Too bad Denver Nuggets were not able to win against the OKC Thunders. Murray has a good shot to tie the game and send it to overtime but it was short. At least you got the Nets bet.

It is all upset to for me. Denver losing, Warriors losing at home, and Memphis losing to the starless Suns. All close ending.

915  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 23, 2023, 07:09:58 AM
Suggest ways to deal with unexpected expenses?

That is "Rainy Days" fund is for. That is money that you save that is only used for unexpected expenses like accidents, hospital bills, or even your refrigerator breaking down. When budgeting your money, you should also consider setting aside funds for this particular reason. So, when the need arises, you are still prepared because you have money for it. That is the only way I know you can deal with unexpected expenses.
916  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: January 22, 2023, 11:37:48 PM
"Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin" this question was asked by a friend

My reply to her is this:
It is generally not advisable to take out a loan to purchase Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile and the value of a particular coin can fluctuate greatly in a short period of time. This means that the value of the coin you purchase with a loan could drop, making it difficult to repay the loan. It is important to do your own research and make sure you understand the risks before investing in any financial product, including Bitcoin.

This is actually good advice already and coming from a newbie like you, that means you have a sound understanding of how cryptocurrency is working. Good for you.

Generally, it is bad to take a loan to invest on something. It is best if you use money that you have saved for that purpose to invest in anything. There are just too many downsides on using loan money for investment.

Another is, I am thinking that he still does not have money, so while saving, he should this time to invest in learning how cryptocurrency works and find out if it is really for him. Not everyone can understand how it works and accept the risk that entails in investing bitcoin. If he has to ask others whether to invest or not, that means he is not prepared for it. He may blame the friend who advised him to invest if the investment fails. It is best if he decides it for himself.

Here is my bet for matches later at Blast Premier

G2 Esports @ 1.77 vs Natus Vincere

Personally, I think both teams are shaky and could take the match. So I am going to bet on the G2 at this time since I think they are better than Navi at this point.

Big vs Ninjas in Pajamas @ 1.58

NiP is heavily favored in this match, and I agree. Just basing my bet on rankings at this point since this is a new season. Will adjust bets later when I see how teams have adjusted this season.

918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 22, 2023, 10:53:32 PM
Phoenix Suns vs Memphis Grizzlies @ 1.24

The Memphis Grizzlies (31-14) will visit the Phoenix Suns (23-24) tonigth at Footprint Center. The Grizzlies should win this game since the Phoenix Suns is riddled with injuries right now.
Suns key injuries: Cameron Payne (foot) out, Chris Paul (hip) out, Landry Shamet (foot) out,, Deandre Ayton (illness) out
Grizzlies key injuries: Danny Green (knee) out

Denver Nuggets @ 1.46 vs Oklahoma City Thunder
The Denver Nuggets (33-13) will host the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder (22-24) tonight at Ball Arena. The Nuggets should easily win against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Oklahoma City key injuries: Robinson-Earl (ankle) out
Denver key injuries: Bones Hyland (finger) questionable, Nikola Jokic (hamstring) questionable, Jamal Murray (hip) questionable

Golden State Warriors @ 1.34 vs Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets (28-17) will visit the Golden State Warriors (23-23) tonight at Chase Center. Without Kevin Durant on the line up of Brooklyn Nets and the Golden State Warriors at home, this is a Warriors game.
Nets key injuries: Kevin Durant (knee) out
Warriors key injuries: Andre Iguodala (hip) out, Anthony Lamb (foot) questionable, James Wiseman (ankle) out

If that happens then they'll just have to meet back there and they'll be just back again to division 1 after being relegated to division 2. But, these days, I've seen the good unknown teams that are beating the tier 1 / division 1 teams assess.

That is too bad though, they will be missing a lot of DPC tournaments relegated to Division 2. And they cannot come back to DIV 1 until the second tour. And you are right, there are strong teams  now in division 2 that can beat Div 1 teams. So, if Team Spirit cannot find a suitable replacement for BOOM (if they decide to replace him), they will not be able to move up to Div 1. If this continues, we might see them again in Last Chance Qualifier. It is just a waste that they let go of Nisha when they are still completely good with their roster. Just look at Team Liquid. They lost Matu but Nisha is doing really well replacing him. They are continuing their streak from their run in TI last season and seem to be stronger. That should have been Team Secret if they kept their roster last season.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 22, 2023, 09:43:33 PM
Northport now is undermanned, Bollick is not playing due to minor injury, but good thing is that they have a good import, a short one but very aggressive in attacking the basket. Northport is the underdog but I'm trusting them to win this game with the help of their import.

Northport import was good but only in the first half of the game. Once Converge figured him out, they locked him down. And Northport locals were not able to help their import. Converge took the game with a big lead against Northport. I would like to point out how I like the discipline of Converge in this game. Even though they are already on a big lead and sure of winning the game, they never let go of their aggressiveness. They are still pushing the ball even in the dying minutes when the lead is over 30 points. I like that attitude of Converge.

Speaking of NorthPort locals, Robick Bolick did not play on this game, outcome might be different had he played because we all know how important he is in every NorthPort plays plus he averaged double digits in point production. No, he doesn't have an injury but rumors had it that NorthPort management and Bolick had yet to sit down and talked about the contract extension as his contract will expire this coming January 31.

If this will not be ironed out, rumors have it also that a company/persons are willing to bring this ace point guard of NorthPort to Taiwan thus causing another problem to the PBA.

That will hurt Northport a lot. Robert Bollick has been a steady source of offense to the Northport. He has been carrying this team since he joined them. But we cannot blame PBA superstars for transferring to leagues abroad since the pay is substantially higher than what PBA can offer. Their time as basketball players is just limited and if they can get more benefits financially somewhere else, we cannot stop them from going abroad.

Guys, I'll just be different but this is still related to Philippine Basketball. Mario Chalmers is going to play with Zamboanga Valientes. This is surprising yet very exciting to see that local teams (not from PBA) are also having their stars and this is for sure going to attract more fans to watch the team.
Saw this news right now and that's a good player to play with the team, though the current standing of Zamboanga Valientes in ASEAN Basketball League is not that good, let's see if an NBA Champion can help the team to be on a better position for the next round. Looking forward as well to see the former NBA player that will play in PBA with NLEX. Looks like basketball opportunity in the Philippines is slowly growing, hope they can also attract local players to stay.

That will attract viewers. I wonder how much the Zamboanga Valientes are paying him. He is old but he still can play and be competitive, especially in Philippines basketball.
