921  Local / Hors-sujet / [SPLIT] Les gros mots on: November 19, 2019, 03:19:36 PM

" Utiliser des gros mots ça aurai bien fait supprimer les posts de certains! "

Edit : Merci Halab <3)
922  Other / Meta / Re: [CONTEST](POLL LIVE) 10 years of Bitcointalk commemorative Coldkey ($500+ prize) on: November 19, 2019, 02:26:36 PM
Little question, how much will each model be sold ?

Because suddenly, if it is possible I would take the version of "plvbob0070" ( According to its price ), in addition to the model that I reserved ^^

Hey lulucrypto !

This release will be sold below 15€ per piece to make it widely available for everyone. Smiley
I don't think we will produce every model that is listed in the poll.

sad for me , i cant vote and join conversation in live pool..
its because im newbie right?

Absolutely.
I am sorry that you cannot vote in the poll, but this was done on purpose to keep the poll fair.

Anyway, here is an update with the current results :

There is still some time left for votes. Smiley
923  Other / Archival / Re: [POLL] Vote for your favourite design -- Bitcointalk 10th Anniversary Coldkey on: November 19, 2019, 02:06:31 PM
I understand that my design is not that good, actually I am not expecting that I will be in the list when yogg posted the list of the qualifying members. Maybe you are right many of my friends and supporters here in forum are gonna vote for me regardless of my design. Personally, If I am not on the list I will vote for @plvbobo design. But, surprisingly not a lot of members are voting for him.

@Yogg If I ever win the 1st place just give it to others, I am just actually hoping for 3rd or if lucky enough 2nd place. I know that my design is not that good  Smiley

Goodluck to all!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Thankyou sir!  Cheesy I'm very happy a lot of you guys are voting for my work even though me, myself is not satisfied with my work. lol

Hey Yatsan, thanks for your comments. Smiley
I appreciate that you are so accommodating.
Thanks a lot for participating in the contest !

If you win, please provide to me a template of your design without : QR codes, BTC address, AuthKey, Serial number, Denomination.

You should be proud ! Your work is great and you shouldn't feel downgraded whatsoever. Smiley
The spirit of what we try to achieve is to grasp what members prefer, collectively, as a community.
I understand that there might be some smaller communities under that big Bitcointalk banner and this is not a problem, really.

We want to make this event the fairest for everyone. In a way so there are equal chances for every participant.
When narrowing down entries to make this poll, we didn't really watch who made the submission but rather much focused on the artwork.

I have checked it, and "Brand new" accounts are unable to cast a vote in the current poll.
This alone makes the current poll right and fair.

Congrats to those selected participants.
I already voted one of them, yeah, it's hard to choose one of them because all of them were a pretty cool and nice design.

Congrats both you guys and thank's @yogg. I'll wait for that in the auction.

Thanks sheenshane ! I'm glad that you enjoy that event. Smiley
We will produce Coldkeys with the winning design, and serials from 1 to 10 will be put aside for auction.

Those Coldkeys will be available for purchase during one month after the anniversary.
The price per unit shouldn't exceed 15€.
Our retail price is particularly low, as we want most of the Bitcointalk users to be able to grab a souvenir about a certain place, at a certain moment. Smiley

This is our way to give back to Bitcointalk what this place has brought to us !
Thanks so much to everyone here. We love you all ! <3
924  Other / Archival / Re: [POLL] Vote for your favourite design -- Bitcointalk 10th Anniversary Coldkey on: November 18, 2019, 07:06:28 PM
@yogg: Nothing against Yatsan but what if you ask your friends to vote for you? I mean if you're on the forum for a long time, it's natural your community or your supporters will vote for you regardless of the design. I think you should take the vote just for reference and then take your own decision about the winner.

I understand your point, and this is a very edgy topic.
Where do you draw the line between abuse and legitimate support ?

As we saw the event unfold, one way to prevent that was to allow only Bitcointalk "more veteran" members to cast a vote.

The Ivory Tower is a space where the less ranked members are not supposed to be able to intervene.
The poll was not supposed to allow users that are not full member or higher to vote, and we have little visibility over what's really going on.

This alone should have made what you suggest impossible or more difficult to achieve.

With GazetaBitcoin's post in Meta, it appears that you need to be full member or above to post, but not necessarily to vote.
This is not the way we saw this poll happening, as anyone can register Brand new accounts in bulk simply to cast a vote and influence the outcome.

I am not saying that abuse is happening.
I am saying that this (the case of newbies being able to vote) is happening, whereas it shouldn't have been.

In the original contest rules, we reserved the right to disqualify any contestant at our sole discretion.
Those rules apply to the entirety of the event. We do not tolerate any kind of abuse.

I believe self voting is not allowed.

I don't see how this can be enforced, and no, this isn't something I pointed out.
You are free to vote for your favourite submission, which can be your own. Smiley
927  Other / Meta / Re: [CONTEST](POLL LIVE) 10 years of Bitcointalk commemorative Coldkey ($500+ prize) on: November 18, 2019, 01:17:32 PM
The poll is now up and you can now vote for your favour entry into the contest. Smiley
It will be open for voting during 5 days and the chosen Coldkey will be released rather soon after the poll ends.

You will find it at this URL : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5202453.0

I wish the best of luck to the remaining contestants !!

928  Other / Archival / [POLL] Vote for your favourite design -- Bitcointalk 10th Anniversary Coldkey on: November 18, 2019, 01:11:55 PM

Hello everyone !
(This poll is held in Ivory Tower to prevent any form of abuse from low ranked members. It expires in 5 days and will be moved to Archival once finished.)

Local rule : Please keep this thread only about the poll itself.
All the general questions about the contest should be adressed in this thread.

Vote now for your favorite design !

For the upcoming 10th anniversary of Bitcointalk, we imagined something special to commemorate this event.

We have organized a contest in Meta for a few weeks. We will produce special commemorative Coldkey wallets.
The point was for users to submit designs that remind them of Bitcointalk.

We have narrowed down the list of entries to 9 different designs; they are being presented in this thread.

The entry with the most votes will be displayed on these commemorative Coldkeys.
There are prizes to win for the top 3 entries with the most votes !

Made on Bitcointalk.org, by Bitcointalk.org users, for Bitcointalk.org. Smiley

This special Coldkey will be available for purchase during one month (for one month from the day after the poll ends) without limits in quantities.
They will be serialized and embossed.
We will keep the first & lowest 10 serials for a further auction. 100% of this auction proceedings will go to Charities. *

If you don't know about it, let me quickly present Coldkey to you : it is a secure physical cold storage wallet in the form of a card.
We have announced the project in the Collectibles section back in April, since then we have released three different series.

* : maybe split between several ones. Thinking of the Bitcointalk Charity Program, Free Ross, Save the Bees, Sean's Outpost.

Contestants are sorted by the time of their submission.
Designs presented here may slightly differ from the final version that is going to be produced.

In case where some contestants end up winning ex-aequo, we will assign hex digits to them and proceed to a raffle by announcing a yet-too-be-found block number.
The last digit of the block hash with pick the winner.

Best of luck to every contestant left !
Thank you very much for participating with your vote !! Smiley

https://www.facebook.com/kbenabdelakder/videos/3205198106220866/

Morceau choisi : 'Achetez du Zyn, un coin qui monte haut reviendra toujours au même point haut plus tard, c'est obligatoire !'

A méditer  Wink

(sorry, there has been a mistake when making the list)

We will create a prototype Coldkey for each entry that is selected.
(Prototypes for entries with addresses already embedded will not be functional wallets)
Pictures will be available in the poll so voters can select the one that appeal the most to them.

Having not yet given my opinion on the proposals listed, I allow myself to make my favorite list here Smiley

Thanks for sharing your selection of favorite entries lulucrypto Smiley
Indeed, most of them made it to the poll.

Thank you everyone for giving us a chance to provide those nice cold storage wallets to you. Smiley
This is an incredible response ! Shocked
We are truly grateful for your support.
To see that the way this serie is made into existence appeals to you all is awesome, and we hope that you will be satisfied with your Coldkey experience.

Fuck, I missed it.

You and me both.....  Friday afternoon naps prove to be bad for your crypto-health Tongue

Aw, yeah I guess haha.

minerjones, Mitchell and Mbitr, I am sorry that you missed out on this release. Sad

Hey yogg,

please make next month 64 cards (or 128). So the selling of the monthly edition last maybe 2-5 days and not 1 hour...

Thank you.

Hey Sarduk,

Thanks for your suggestion. Smiley
Yes, we understand that this can be frustrating.  Undecided

We have a strong aversion when it comes to change the rules once they have been settled, as we want to provide consistency in what we do.
Therefore in December there will be again 32 History Coldkeys produced.
If you want to be informed in advance about the release time for the upcoming December History Coldkeys, you can subscribe to our Newsletter at the bottom of our website.

We take note of all the suggestions that come out. They help us a lot to elaborate the future of this serie.
It will probably evolve with the next round that will feature a different artist. Smiley

The submission period is now over.

Thanks a lot to every participant for all your entries !
There has been a lot of creativity and energy put into making those designs ! Smiley

Tomorrow, we will select the entries that will be in the poll.
Voting will probably start somewhere during Sunday.

This leaves enough time to get a grasp of what design the active community of Bitcointalk likes most. Smiley

Stay tuned, I will regularly update this thread with news so participants are informed of how the contest unfolds.

937  Other / Meta / Re: [CONTEST] Design the 10 years of Bitcointalk commemorative Coldkey ($500+ prize) on: November 15, 2019, 01:14:00 PM
Hello yogg, I have a question: how will be selected the posts for the shortlist? I understood that the winners of the shortlist will be elected through a poll.
But what is the criterion for a post to reach the shortlist?

Hello GazetaBitcoin, thanks for your question.

Well, one of the criteria is that the entry has to match the rules of the contest.

Tomorrow, the Coldkey team will review every entry in the contest and we will select the ones that appeal the most to us.
We will start the poll shortly afterwards. Smiley
938  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] History Coldkey - A testimony to Bitcoin ! - Nov Release avail tomorrow on: November 15, 2019, 12:14:37 PM
Thanks a lot everybody for all your support !! Smiley

I really need to follow this thread for updates. Tongue

Yes, this thread will serve for the entire lifetime of that serie. Smiley
All upcoming collaborations with artists, releases and general annoucements will be held here.

Probably dumb question, but it are the same cold keys as the ones before right ?

It is the same background made by 1Dq.
However the denomination, some elements such as the date, the block number, the displayed BTC rate, is always according to what happened on the 1st day of the month.

As of now it would be difficult to completely change the artwork for every monthly release.
Anyway thanks for the idea, we'll consider this in the future !

am just gonna sit here as time ticks  Grin

not me. at a friday midnight i'm sitting/lying drunk in a pub almost every week  Cheesy

We are thinking about solutions so you are still able to lay in a pub and not miss the monthly History Coldkey release. Grin

Many many thanks to all of you ! Smiley
939  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] History Coldkey - A testimony to Bitcoin ! Nov Release avail tomorrow on: November 14, 2019, 05:38:18 PM
November History Coldkeys are ready !

The second post of this thread, which will serve as a reference, has been updated accordingly.

(Higher resolution album : https://imgur.com/a/acXHxOU)

There are 32 cards produced for November, same as for October.

The BTC exchange rate on the 1st of November 2019 was 8385€ for 1BTC.
This makes the loaded amount of BTC 0.00596302, which is equal to 50€ on the 1st of November 2019.

November History Coldkeys will be available for purchase on our website tomorrow !
Release time : Friday 15th November, 11:59pm Paris time (5:59pm EST)
(Countdown to release)

These Coldkeys will become available for purchase on our shop when the countdown gets to 0.
They are available on a first-come, first-served basis so do not hesitate for too long if you manage to see them available on our website !

Limit of 3 per person.

Thanks for reading ! Smiley

Thanks Yogg, great job as always. Cant' wait for next release! Grin

Thanks a lot Owlcatz for your kind words. Smiley
It's great to know we're doing it right ! Happy to know that Coldkeys please your eyes !
940  Other / Meta / Re: [CONTEST] Design the 10 years of Bitcointalk commemorative Coldkey ($500+ prize) on: November 14, 2019, 12:16:16 PM
I did 3 designs before yogg wrote comment.
Is this a big problem?

Hey Basorexia,

Thanks for your question.
Well, this was implied in the OP so I guess this is on me. (I made that more explicit later on)
Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, this is a problem as we will create cold storage wallets commemorating the anniversary.
Each Coldkey wallet comes with it's own and unique pair of cryptographic keys.

In the eventuality such a design won, I will need to ask the winner for an appropriate version for our use.
