After Real Madrid narrowly defeated Leipzig in the first leg of their round of 16 game in the UEFA Champions League competition, I had predicted that they're going to easily beat their opponents in the second leg of the tie but little did I know that the Spanish giants are going to struggle in the game and even had to settle for a draw. Sometimes it does happens in football that a team will be having the best performance while the other who's the weak side my be lucky with the goals and be winning and in the end of the game what matters the most is the results and not the performance or how well a team did played the game, most times it's usual for the best team to win but then a few times the weak side may actually really prove tough and strong. In champions league, it usually appears that most teams do put on a different kind of performance, they seem to be in a different spirit as compared to how they usually be in their domestic league probably because they are aware of the circumstances around the champions league been a very competitive one and any team that's not in such competitive spirit usually don't go far enough in the champions league so that try to put up that fighting spirit and that's exactly what Leipzig was trying with real Madrid knowing too well how good Madrid is a d how Madrid can stop them in the UCL. The draw actually turned out in favour of real Madrid because they already had a win and so the draw only helped to give them a chance to the next stage and this was how far Leipzig could go in the champions league this season, for me the results is all that matters how they struggled isn't much of a problem but the result, and that's exactly what real Madrid did, they got the results. Yes I understand that the result the UEFA Champions League game between Real Madrid and Leipzig yesterday actually favored the home side because of the fact that they managed to narrowly win the first leg of the tie but what I'm trying to say is that considering the football strength of Real Madrid when compared to their German counterparts and the fact that they played the game at home, I expected them to easily win the game but football sometimes doesn't give us what we expect or have already predicted and that's what makes it the most interesting of all the sports in the world. With the result of that game yesterday, Real Madrid have qualified to play in the quarter finals of the game and after the quarter finals and semi finals draw of the game is made, Real Madrid will know who'll they'll be playing against in the quarter finals and the the team they'll face in the semi final should they happen to win their quarter final opponent. The way Chelsea are going about business in the remaining part of the season is a little bit confusing and is like they're just playing for no reason in the EPL, it has been a while since I saw one of the strongest team as of then behaving the way Chelsea is now. Lost the Carabao Cup to Liverpool for the second time and it's like things are fine with them, all eyes will definitely be on the coach for their poor performance (in some situation).
What is Chelsea playing for this season because at this point I don't see them struggling for anything anymore, if it's the top 4, we shouldn't go their to be honest, if is the FA Cup too, is a no no to me because they're now a team that's two steps forward and four steps backwards. I don't think the fans need to be cool about the condition of these players and every other thing that are not going well with the team.

The funniest thing is that if they sell their main players instead, they should get some good and experienced players. Actually it was a bad day for juventus yesterday, though they did absolutely well in there play, they tried so hard to make an equalizer in the ending part of the game,but there effort was not successful, though the scores wasn't that bad either.considering the home advantage given to napoli I think napoli deserve the win.

After Thomas Tuchel took over the managerial position at Bayern Munich, he didn't start well and it was under him that Bayern Munich was humiliated by Manchester City in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League competition and on the last day of the German Bundesliga last season, Bayern Munich's fate of winning the German league wasn't even in their hands ahd would've not won it if Borussia Dortmund won in their own last league game of the season. Bayern Munich's management in their quest to help Tuchel succeed at the club signed a world class striker like Harry Kane last summer but it still didn't stop Tuchel from delivering a poor season for the club. Funny how since Mbappe is known for leaving in the summer for Real , PSG are 2 draws in a row and the title fight is kinda back online with Brest being 9 points behind them but I doubt anyone can catch PSG.
Despite the draw that PSG got in the last few matches, I don't even see a big thing to change about the trophy competition because everything is still the same where PSG is still the club that runs alone for the trophy this season. The difference of 9 points from Brest is not a situation that can be pursued quickly because even though Brest's performance is extraordinary this season but still we will still consider them as a dark horse club not as a competitor because that is what we can pin on a club like Brest. Indeed, in the last few matches Brest has performed quite positively but that alone is not enough to make them look worthy as one of the title contenders for this season in Ligue 1 because looking at the current point difference we seem to know that it is still very far for Brest to be used as a title contender and can compete in the race for the trophy this season. I am so disappointed in them, they started so well and raised all our hopes for them to challenge for the title and see a different team win the league other than Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Early goal by ManU and an equalizer by Foden. It was 1-1 for quite a time. Manchester City attacking and Manchester United defending. It looked like ManU would be able to make it a draw. But with consistent attacks and Foden was able to give Manchester City at the 80th minute and with the Haaland converting a good assist to a goal in the injury time.

It's one thing to score an early goal when you're playing against a big team like Manchester and absolutely a different thing to protect the lead till the end of the game or even add more goals to the match. Manchester United were able to take the lead inside the opening ten minutes of their English Premier League game against English, European and World champions Manchester City and were even able to protect that lead till the end of the first half of the game but failed to put out a good performance that'll see them win the game in the second. The performance of Manchester United in the second half of their game against Manchester City was absolutely poor from a big club like United and that was why they were outclassed by Manchester City who emphatically defeated Manchester United by scoring three unreplied goals in the second half of the game to come from behind to claim all three points and reduce their points difference behind league leaders Liverpool to just one point. Phil Foden was the man who inspired Manchester City to come back into the game. Before the game, I was of the opinion that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will make the difference but despite scoring after Manchester United defense made a huge error very late in the game, the Norwegian wasn't the player of the match as he skied the ball when he had only the goal post to beat from less than five yards. The possibility of Manchester United finishing the season in the top four this season I think is almost impossible considering their current position and recent performances. |
