982  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: August 03, 2014, 10:54:11 PM
It would be interesting to see if someone would have earned more switching from the highest paying campaign to an other than staying with PD for the last 3months or for the last 6months, bet he would have make more advertising PD which has been paying the most or close to the most every month

Divergent was nice, a movie that makes you think

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is well done but too many fighting and apes to my taste
986  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Financial Crisis scenarios on: August 03, 2014, 10:48:13 PM
This won't happen since Congress will pass an act and Fed will print as much money as needed to cover all outstanding debts. And with the newly printed dollars, the happy US treasury bearers would buy even more US treasuries.
The FED is an independent government agency that should not be subject to this level of oversight. The Fed's purpose it is keep inflation in check and try to get the economy to reach maximum employment. Nothing else.

Now they created a mandate of minimum inflation! Which is crazy

They are fixing the lending markets and most markets actually; the balance sheet of the FED went from 500B to 5trillions in a few years, we are in a recession and heading to an economic collapse in the US and even in most the western world : bonds and stocks markets are way overprices
987  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 03, 2014, 10:46:08 PM
We probably have 10%/year of real inflation in the US that should push Bitcoin and Gold higher
988  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: August 03, 2014, 10:45:30 PM
On the internet, how can one know the biological classification of anyone else?
Are you suggesting that Gleb Gamow is actually a domesticated fowl? Smiley
How could I tell that he/she/it is not?
Why don't you check for a penis?
dont you know that I don't like that?

Don't you know it won't matter when the USD crash and people suffer?
989  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: August 03, 2014, 09:59:14 PM
1000$ 2014
10000$ 2015
100000$ 2016
1000000$ 2017

That would be nice, enough time to buy a lot and a nice reward Grin

2014 800$

2015 7000$

2016 35,000$

2018-2019 200,000$
990  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: August 03, 2014, 09:58:14 PM
I am pretty confident that bitcoin price will touch $1000 again this year (we have 5 more months), but that $1000 mark will be a big resistance and the price will likely be under big pressure after touching it.

Yes, there is the psychology behind it. Many of those who bought in late 2013 and early 2014 at $1,000-$1,200 will see that the price has risen back to four digits, feel relieved, and sell.

I believe that these kinds of people who are prone to panic-buying might actually buy more at that price, since they might think that their coins are finally in a rocket to be worth 10000$. Or they have panic-sold already.

When the price will hit 1000$ again it will probably not be a good time to sell because we are likely to go way higher
991  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Financial Crisis scenarios on: August 02, 2014, 10:49:03 PM
do you think we`ll see something again like 2008? Its been 6 years already ever since that moment.
The 2008 collapse was something that generally happens less then once per lifetime.

The conditions to get the 2008 collapse are all there only bigger : reckless doing, 0% interest rate, government manipulation of markets, heavy regulation; except this time they will probably inflate the USD to make everyone whole so the stock market may not nominally go down
What caused the 2008 collapse was loose lending for houses (this also spilled over into other types of lending as well), we are not seeing that today. A secondary factor that contributed to the 2008 collapse was excess leverage at banks so investors could not determine if they had sufficient capital to survive.

Lose lending was encouraged by the FED and the government with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

We have exactly the same situation now with very low interests rates that create the bubble, except now it is bigger, the same that were in denied are still in denied because they are participating to the foolish bubble

993  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ask me anything about being a sex addict. (Serious thread) on: July 31, 2014, 10:58:50 PM
My friend once told me that once she got so frustrated with the school nurse because he/she made her put on and remove her clothes all the time and go to another room so finally she just walked to the next on her underwear and she walked by a window and inside there was a convention for sex addicts. (I think this was in grade school)
I just wanted to ask what was going on in their minds? And if this was in anyway out of line I'm sorry cause I can't really tell..

That was confusing

I wonder what actually constitutes a sex addict.  I have a fairly high sexual drive as well but only have 1 partner.  Can I call myself a sex addict in this scenario?

Probably not but you may have some aspects of your life that ressembles those of a se.x addict; it is an addiction when it fuck.ed up your life and your well being
994  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you really earn more money because you went to college? on: July 31, 2014, 10:56:44 PM
Back of the napkin math -
Start working 2000 hrs/yr @ 16 years old taking home $30k (assuming no taxes since with credit/deductions you can go +/-). By age 36 you make 20x$30k = $600k (skipping interest).

If you do a cardiology fellowship after medschool/residency you will have worked for 6 years making $35k/yr (salaried resident so no minimum wage bonus for you) which let's say for the sake of argument would cover your student loans (not if you went private but we'll average it out with state schools). You'll make $200k/yr take home those 3 years leading up to age 36.

So by 36 the min wage adult and the cardiologist are even. Except the min wager could have a house almost paid off (possibly might even be working on house #2). Oh and the practitioner has also studied/worked about 2.5x as many hours as the min wager.

If the med school bound idiot (yes, now he is an idiot if he goes to medical school) changes to work 2 full time min wage jobs making $15/hr (assuming work is available) from age 16 he'll almost always be ahead by age 40, and if he invested wisely will have an insurmountable lead on any physician.

I bring up $15/hr since Seattle recently decided to bump up the minimum wage to that.  San Diego is considering $13/hr.

That would be great and all, but the min wage is not even close to $15/hr for most of the states.

A more accurate min wage would be $7.25(Which is what most 16 year olds will get)  So that means they will bring  home roughly 10k a year after taxes.  So with nothing after 20 years the min wage will have 200k which is a lot more accurate.

Granted, that isn't usually the case people don't sit at min wage for 20 years, they move up through the ladder and get a better job.

Students are pretty much getting screwed along with the minimum wage being way to low in order for people to pay their debts.

You were not suppose to work for minimum wage for more than a few months with a college degree

Minimum wage is horrible for persons who are not worth the minimum wage because they cannot get their first work experience to move up on the ladder : it is horrible for the least skilled and those who need a job the most

US don't create good jobs atm, just partial jobs in the service sector, often at the minimum wage and college graduates and 40years old with kids take those jobs that should go to unemployed unskilled workers

Whether it's a huge risk or not is up to you, but he's only guaranteed the 5btc, and if he doesn't pay out for whatever reason those funds will be used to reimburse people, but they might not get what they were owed. I'm sure this wont happen but you never know.
That is a possibility. Next week DiceBitco.in and I are going to look at the members status to see if more money needs to be escrowed. And isn't it better to get some money, then nothing at all?

Well, for a maximum of 100 participants, and lets say, 300 posts per participant at an average pay rate of a Full Member (0.0007 btc), that only comes to about 21 btc you need to get DiceBitco.in to escrow, in order to ensure everyone gets paid. Cheesy

8BTC in escrow would be a start, it is far from 100participants @ 300posts/participant!

Is it just me, or does this come in the wake of Putin's visit to Argentina, where the two countries were seen getting along, so Argentina needed punishing for that?

no, that's what it seems like. didn't putin pardon argentina's loan too? they knew they weren't getting it back, so it was just a goodwill gesture to send a collective "fuck you" to the states. or maybe that was cuba, the country known for being anti-US.

Cuba got pardoned for their loans. I am not sure about Argentina. I'm not sure if cuba is anti-US at present, after all,  the illegal concentration camp guatanamo is there.
