982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 15, 2023, 07:25:24 AM
Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Good advice. Having a set budget before playing can prevent you from spending beyond your limit. Learn to have discipline, self-control and don't let your emotions influence you on making a decision. On the other side taking a break can help to think clearly and less pressure for yourself.

Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone.
This is a must if you want to overcome your addiction. Don't hesitate to seek help because the support of family and friends are necessary to encourage you on changing what you used to.

I'd like to add, for gamblers, before you play be aware of the risk and the possible thing that can happen. If you can't bear the idea of losing your money in gambling, then don't ever try to gamble. Gambling is fun and you can win huge money but if you have no discipline it can create a negative impact in your life.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: May 15, 2023, 03:46:21 AM
Gambling is very risky if you want to gamble use an extra money and gamble that you can afford to lose. You may be able to play with your own and make sure that you are not getting addicted to it. Because once you get been addicted in that game you will be able to lose all your money.

It is true that when betting you have to be prepared to lose your money. But it's quite difficult to be able to bet without addiction, that's because of human nature, namely greed where when they lose something they will try to get it back. Therefore most people are trapped in this vicious circle. In fact, if they can manage their finances and bet according to their abilities, they can earn money from their games and many people have proven this.
The most control for me is betting smaller amounts and being able to afford to lose after that avoid thinking about a big win.
It's easy for me to avoid addiction like that it's just that everyone has different thoughts.
Especially slot gambling, if you can't control it all, you will get addicted quickly.
That's how it should be, to bet using small amount that you can afford to lose. But we know many of us do forget these basic rules when we gamble because of unable to control ourselves especially our emotions resulting to extended time of playing.

Well, it's a human nature to think you'll win when you gamble or if you stayed longer playing the particular slot. However the result is often the opposite of what you expected it to be. The reason why it's important that you know the risk when you started using your money in gambling to avoid thinking you'll end up in profit.

thanks everyone
They reopened my account, I withdrew all my deposit, but the bets I won became 1
That's still better than losing money, thanks everyone for the support.
Everyone should consider when they win bets here.

You're lucky to get your money back. Many complaints here are not resolved because they're just ignoring the gamblers. I hope this will serve as a lesson for you to not play again on this platform, 1xbit can't be trusted so DYOR always.

But anyway, this incident won't affect their reputation here, because the fact is still clear that 1xbit is scam and the gamblers should stay away playing on this platform.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: May 14, 2023, 09:02:11 AM
-snip

Quote
Also, i have one question for everyone who wants to blame others for losses, were you forced to do gambling by anyone? If not, then how can you say that another person is responsible for your loss? And more importantly, in case you win, will you also make responsible another person for this?
you don't have to ask them because they even know nothing about how they lose because they are being blocked by the promises of wining things that istead them forever until they finally realized their mistakes .
someone who gambles with his friends and suddenly may feel hesitant not to continue betting and sometimes friends can be a factor in losing or losing in gambling. for example I bet at a gambling place with $ 100 and after that I hesitated to stop for a moment with the remaining $ 50 but my friend said come on, you will definitely win and subconsciously my mind was influenced and tried again to bet after that, I lost again and ran out of all the money.
from incidents like this blaming a friend in the right circumstances or circumstances is fine because indeed a friend sometimes gives motivation or bad words when gambling persuades to bet again and lose. maybe blaming a friend is just a form of rebound.
But still, it is our decision if we will continue to gamble or stop already. If you let yourself be influenced by your friend's advice then that's your fault since they didn't force you, the final decision depends on what you think is the best thing to do at that very moment. Believing you can possibly back what you lost if you spend your remaining funds are not a good behaviour when you gamble.

Thus, if you gamble be certain that you're doing it because no one influence or force you to do so. This way, you will not held others accountable incase you lose your money in gambling. Be mature enough to accept the outcome and move on because there's no good if you dwell in the past since it happened already.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 14, 2023, 06:15:08 AM
nowadays with the evolution of technologies, I wonder if someone goes to stay in a distant village they won't have access to a telephone and internet and gambling, it's hard to escape technology to avoid gambling, but it doesn't hurt to try , and it is true that staying away from all this for a long time the person manages to overcome the addiction, but we have to see if it will be a temporary or permanent cure
I experienced this few years ago, going to a place away from internet and live peacefully in a village far from city to stop my gambling addiction. I live there for a month to change what I used to because i'm spending too much money in gambling that led to debts. It does work for me maybe because I have the willingness to stop for the sake of my family and forget that chapter of my life.

It's also a lesson for me to not repeat the same mistakes again. It took me 2 years to gamble again, but this time as a discipline gambler and aware of my limitation.
987  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: May 14, 2023, 04:57:05 AM
Are they meant only for the Twitter followers to grab those giveaways as not all gamblers are following the gambling Twitter handle and some may rarely visit Twitter???

It is reasonable if duelbits give promotion to their followers in twitter, how about those gamblers who are not following duelbits in twitter? Simply start following it if they want to take the opportunity. The same as what they have done few years back when they were so active with contest in this forum, of course the main idea is to give special promo/contest for bitcointalk members but new comers may also participate by creating bitcointalk account. Promotions can be done anywhere, as long as duelbits think that it will give good impact then they will do it regularly. We as users are the those who should follow the trend, if the trend is now in social media then we should start follow them in social media so we have good chance to grab the giveaways.
Exactly. Giveaways on other channels doesn't necessarily mean it is only exclusive for the particular platform. Because if you don't want to missed their giveaways and promotions then it's up to us if we want to follow them outside the forum to be always updated.

IIRC, Duelbits launched an art contest here on the forum before, unfortunately I didn't had the chance to win. But when they also conducted an art contest on twitter (it's for halloween few years ago) I joined and won a spot. This is the advantage of following Duelbits on other platforms to not missed their latest promotions. So if they have separate promotions for each channels, it doesn't mean you can't take part. As long as you're eligible and followed the rules then I don't see any problem on why it will be an issue.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Cas Nghitumbwa imero vs(May 13) on: May 14, 2023, 03:58:33 AM
Fillipus Nghitumbwa is 27 years old and has good potential, he is a rough diamond that if he is well polished can go very far

Yes he is, Casimero threw everything but the kitchen sink there were rounds where Casimero stops throwing punches because he couldn't figure out what combination of punches should he throw to knock Nghitumbwa out, Casimero resorted to holding in the latter rounds because of fatigue.
What we've seen here is  Nghitumbwa  is a tough guy who can take a punch and Casimero should have more tune fights before fighting for a world title he is out of the ring for too long before this fight so there was little bit of rust and fatigue easily caught up with him.
Casimero still managed to win though, I guess that moment when Casimero stop throwing punches saved him from this much, I agree that this is a total different fight from Casimero, but the result is still a win. He might be old already and that makes him slower but i think there’s still chance for him, he just need to train more and be active again. Fillipus is also a good boxer but its not enough to stay longer, he should have a better strategy.

He still manage to win since Nghitumbwa also lost his air, he got knock out by casimero and he didn't get great response im return. But todays fight expose Casimero's weakness since he's throwing a lot of power pumch and that make him weak and cannot able to respond heavily until late rounds he seems to be so tired and that is a huge hole to get defeated by his next opponent if he didn't work those things.

I guess he's far to win with Inoue if he show the same performance like this but let see for sure there's improvement eill happen if he face a fast and more dominant fighter.
I agree. Casimero needs to improve his stamina.  The obvious tiredness, lack of air and speed in later rounds are an indication of his weakness that his opponent might use against him. On the other side, Nghitumbwa is a good boxer as well that if given a chance to improve his skiils and gain experience, certainly he has a chance to become a champion in the future.

Anyway, many fans are looking forward for Casimero to fight Inoue but with his current performance, I don't think it's sufficient to defeat the monster. But at least he won and it's a good opportunity for him to have a bigger match. So congrats to Casimero.
989  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: May 14, 2023, 02:27:07 AM
For me without money it's called sport and not gambling because the main reason why A habit or a scenario called gambling is that it involves money which is we are all know that in gambling if we have enough money then we can play a lot of games and put our bet in that. but it will Matters in our luck because without our luck in our side then we can not win in our bet because in gambling prediction is not perfect.
But if the prize is an item or something else that can replace money, isn't that the same as gambling? We often do this, don't we? For example, if you lose in completing a job, you must treat your friends to a drink or a meal. You and your friends are competing to finish the job on time so you can be the winner. Sometimes the position of this money is replaced by something else, so it doesn't look like gambling, and we often do this in our daily lives. But maybe it's not gambling for you, and that's normal.
Your example is considered as gambling because you have something to lose (regardless of if it is money or not) since you'll treat your friends for being the one who lose the bet. It is also quite common for us to have bet with family or friends in something but it doesn't involve money directly as the price, it's still gambling.

However, if the prize is replaced by money, but you'll not lose anything if ever you didn't win then it is not gambling. The prediction contest without asking you to risk your money is like a giveaway though the chance to win is slim.
990  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 12, 2023, 07:39:35 AM
How to save savings in inflation, there are many deposits provided by the bank, but banks often go bankrupt, does it make sense to buy gold? How is gold bought in a bank and interest is issued on it?
I'll go for gold rather than saving my money in banks. Because gold is a good investment, the price is consistently increasing, though the progress is not that fast and it can take months or years. On the other side, yes there's a risk if you save in bank and the common is, the possibility to go bankrupt during inflation. But you don't have to completely get rid of saving in banks. We still need it since it is accessible especially for emergencies hence it would be wise to still have an account. However, take a precaution of not putting a huge money.

Anyway aside from gold, you can invest in Bitcoin (as others have said already) because diversifying is better since it can minimize the risk and can improve your profit.
991  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Sobrang Taas na Gas Fee today? on: May 12, 2023, 03:19:05 AM
Network congestion.

992  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not a get rich quick on: May 12, 2023, 01:16:40 AM
The bad message of this story to everyone who will read it is that crime actually pays off - because just three years in prison (is it real prison or probation?) sends a message to everyone else with similar intentions. In the worst case, the "criminal" will be released when he has served 2/3 of his sentence, and maybe even before.

Shall we bet that he will repeat the same thing as soon as he gets another chance?
True. Whatever your intention of doing such crime, it will always end up of coming back to you and make you pay for it.

Trading may be one’s way of making one’s person highly profitable but it won’t happen very quick. You should be a good trader first and learn to trade only on the potential coins that are promising and have higher chances to give huge returns. But trading using steal money will never make you profitable. Instead, it will only endanger your life and put you into your worst situation that at some point, you can’t easily get rid of it.
There's nothing wrong if you want to take risk and see if there's a good result to gain huge. However what's not right is to steal money because of your eagerness to invest in crypto and worse is he chose meme coins that we all know a quite risky investment.

It's really a lesson for many of us to not try to invest if you don't have idea of what you are getting into. Committing a crime just to invest has a punishment and you can't get away with it. So think carefully because it is still worth it to use your own money regardless of the result because you gained experience and additional knowledge through it.
993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I believe that Bitcoin will make me independent on: May 11, 2023, 07:48:26 AM
Congratulations on your achievement the fact that you are still fighting no matter how hard life is could already be considered as a big win for you, if you could continue to invest in it then I guess all you need to do is to wait for the next bull run to happen to take profit.
Just remember to take care of your health and also secure your investment, don't let it sit on trading sites " not your keys, not your crypto".

He has plenty of time on his hands for sure, but I do hope that he doesn't get stressed out about this investment. I hope that he will just do it and not really trade on it, as it is stressful and there is a possibility that it can affect him. Holding is better for his situation, and he can just forget about it for a couple of years. Also, also it is best to have a hardware wallet and tell your family about your investment just to be safe and in case of emergency.

I agree with this. I'm not sure if I could handle the stress of trading. I believe that it will be better for me to just HODL and focus my time and energy on working to earn more money that I can increase to Bitcoin  Smiley

Holding for long term is less stressful, so that would be better for you. Investing consistently every month with the budget that you have can become huge in time when the bullrun comes. Thus I hope you can achieve your goal for investing in Bitcoin.

Neverthless, I admire your positivity even you have this condition, you're not like others who thought they're good for nothing already because of their problem. But you're different, that can encourage others to never lose hope since they're still lucky to do what others can't.
994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: with the high transaction fees btc makes me stronger to hold btc. on: May 11, 2023, 04:50:25 AM
1: having expensive btc transaction fees makes me stronger to hold on to btc because I don't want to waste my money on expensive transaction fees.
Well, if you're a long term hodler, you will not be tempted to sell your Bitcoin regardless of the fees for every transaction. Though it's true that many investors decided to hold at this time due to high fees, but it doesn't mean they're going to hold for long. It's just that the fees are hindering them to transfer their Bitcoin.

2: my goal of investing in btc is for a long term investment so with expensive transaction fees
makes me stronger holding btc, because my goal is to invest in btc for the long term.
The fees are indeed high but it will not last forever because it will turn down for sure in the coming weeks/months. So be firm with your decision because holding Bitcoin for long period is beneficial for you to have a chance to become a huge gainer.

I am not surprised at all because PEPE devs or team, whoever they are used mathematical scam to deceive those people, PEPE solves no issue we are facing in the crypto space, not a single one, yet people FOMoEd
Many investors wants to join the ride thinking it would be profitable to invest in the current hype coins regardless of if it has use case or not. What matter to them is the profit they can possibly get, while ignoring the risk of losing their money.

What do you think about this project madness? Will you dare invest in a project like this?
Well, I missed to invest on this one but I already tried to invest in meme coins before. It is profitable if you're lucky to take profit during peak price but it's quite risky. Many investors lose their money for being late to sell or because of greed wanting to gain more. Hence it is not advisable to invest in meme coins because it has no real use case to be sustainable. If you like to take risk then only invest what you can afford to lose because it is not similar to established coins whereas it can survive even the market is bearish.
996  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 🖤 #1 VIP Crypto Casino 💠 Come in and explore our new design ✨ on: May 10, 2023, 07:40:48 AM
I also thought before that being a participant is a difficult thing to be a participant but it turned out to be my guess wrong and being a participant is pretty easy, it's nice to be a predictor at Bitcasino too.  Cheesy
Why did you think that being a participant in these contests is difficult? You just guess without risking any money and observe whether your predictions were right or wrong. Very simple process!
Maybe what he meant is, it's easy to join but hard to win.Grin Well, that's the exciting part of this prediction contest because you need to analyze what could be the price of Bitcoin on that particular date. It's not easy to give an accurate prediction but you won't risk anything so it is always worth to try.

Bitcasino is consistent on this prediction contest and for us participants, they're giving us a chance to get free mbtc to play on their platform, that's cool.
997  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Gcash Down? Unauthorized Transactions on: May 10, 2023, 04:37:06 AM
This is not a first time, maraming beses na nangyari ito sa Gcash and with their poor security panigurado mauulit at mauulit pa ito.

Imagine having your crypto on this wallet, panigurado madame ang magpapanic. Better not to put any huge amount of money in gcash, this is not safe at all.

Even banks are having the same problem, if you have savings account for your emergency purposes better not to enroll it online just to avoid this kind of problem, mas ok kung nakapassbook lang. Be safe, and protect your money.

998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: May 10, 2023, 01:57:59 AM

Hmmm interesting, "people actually depend on gambling to make money " this is a statement I don't like seeing but notwithstanding some Hippocrates feel they can actually make steady money from gambling where as the case is different meaning gambling actually makes money from you on a daily basis. I hate to see people taking gambling as a way to escape from your financial problems because has made many folks become debtors but that I believe happens to only folks that see it as a must do affair #addiction

Just as much as you dislike it, I don't think anyone is fully in agreement that a gambler should see gambling as a means of escaping their financial problems. Gambling can instead contribute to their financial problems, like being in debt, just as you have mentioned. Although some have taken the risk and got favored with a heavy win, some people have also taken a big risk in gambling, which has landed them in big trouble. Last week I read a thread (I think it was on the Nigerian local board) where a mother and her son were sentenced to prison for gambling off a huge amount of money that was not theirs. Also, there have been a lot of stories on the gambling discussion board about people who have landed themselves in more trouble because they gambled with money that was not their own.
Because gambling is not the solution if you're struggling financially. Some gamblers thought it is the answer for them to get an instant huge money, but unfortunately it's only possible if you're lucky to win. I also read about that story you mentioned and it's just one of the worse that gamblers can do because of their addiction.

But this is really the mindset of the people I've known, but it doesn't mean that they are addicted to it; they are just threating the lottery like this, which is why they are always buying tickets on a daily basis just to try their luck, which we can't blame them for as they want to get out of poverty even though they work hard and still can't get out. Though that is really the point at which the money intended to buy food goes to the lottery, which is not good, so far when it comes to the lottery, I haven't noticed that someone tends to use that money just to buy tickets.
IMO, when it comes to lottery it is different. Because if you hit the jackpot it's indeed life changing that can make you rich. Moreover, the tickets are cheap hence even if you're buying in a daily basis, it doesn't much affect you financially compared to playing on any casino games. Because casino games can trigger you to recover your losses if you can't handle it.

Anyway, lottery is luck based game and the chance to win is slim. As long as the money that you use to buy tickets are not for important things then I think it's fine. I'm doing the same too but not everyday, I only buy when I have numbers in mind.
999  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is buying BTC now, the best option ??? on: May 09, 2023, 11:09:16 AM
I think buying at any time has the same potential and opportunity for profit, the main key after buying is not to panic when you see the market situation, it's better to keep it in a private wallet and make bitcoin a long-term investment so that the opportunity for profit is greater than we are tired of monitoring daily prices.
That's right. Well, many of us are always asking on when is the perfect time to buy Bitcoin, but the answer would depends on your plan with your investment, if it is for short term or long term. Bear market is the chance for us to fill our bags, but some investors are hesitant because they prefer to see the market recovering before they will buy.

Investing needs knowledge and plan, if you have capital to buy and willing to take risk then don't miss the chance to engage yourself already because we'll never know when might the price will skyrocket. If your plan is to hold for long term then you can buy at anytime, but much better to do it when the price is declining because it is cheaper.

I really regret why people ignore all of our messages in the thread that this site cannot be trusted even OP account has also been marked as a fraud.

I think it is happening as they are promoting many other ways except the forum. And for those promotions, a lot of people is falling on their trap. If you check then you would be able to know that no reputed member became victim of them as they are aware about the scam activity of the 1xbit.
That's right. The advertisement of this casino is not only limited on this forum. Certainly they have other promotions outside to lure the gamblers to play on their site and these gamblers are the ones who are falling victims of this casino after they gamble on 1xbit. Usually these gamblers who came here to complaint, only discovered the forum after they search on where to drop their problems against 1xbit.

They have no existing sig campaign running right? Maybe because they know the forum is not effective anymore to advertise their platform since many gamblers are already aware of their shady business and no one will be attracted to play, unless you're a newbie and careless on choosing a casino.
