341  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: November 14, 2023, 04:45:55 AM
News: Coins.ph Suffers Data Breach: Select Users’ Personal Info Compromised

342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather make your investments in FIAT or CRYPTO? on: November 14, 2023, 12:41:52 AM
The crypto market has a high level of volatility. Anyone who is about to make an investment needs to have a good understanding of the volatile market. Now the question is, even with volatility, will you still choose to make your investment in fiat through bank savings with regular monthly interests or rather make your investments in crypto where you hold your asset and still have the opportunity to save and make monthly interest?
I will choose to invest in crypto (in Bitcoin specifically). However, gaining interest monthly is not that accurate in crypto since it depends on the status of the market and the coins that you're holding. But the potential to gain huge is always there especially if the coin that you buy is Bitcoin. It's true that an investors needs to understand what they are getting into before engaging themselves since Bitcoin is unpredictable and also associated with risk.

On the other side, I can't consider saving money in banks as an investment due to low interest. When it comes to fiat, I'd rather invest in gold than in banks.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 07:44:09 PM
Why would you want to avoid being identified, if you gamble legally and if you are not a criminal? Let's discuss the reasons why KYC are not advantageous for the gamblers and casinos?
Simple reason is because I want to play anonymously. It's all about privacy that the platform is not holding any of my private information because it can leak anytime if there's a data breach. The security of data is often a concern.

That's why if possible, I want to play without undergoing identity verification. However, we know nowadays, many casinos are implementing this for the reasons you have stated (to prevent fraud, age verification etc.) and it's a reality that we need to accept if we want to gamble in legitimate casinos since they're just doing it for legal compliance.
344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 13, 2023, 05:31:58 AM
So I am tempted to inquire if skill is all that is needed to be successful in gambling or luck. Whichever be the option, which of them is the most important factor for gambling success?
There are skill based games (sports betting and card games like poker) that knowledge and strategy are an edge for a gambler to increase the chances to win. On the other side there are also luck based games wherein the chances to win is entirely relying on luck.

However, regardless what games you're playing, luck has a major role for a gambler to win the game. That being said, it is the important factor in gambling. But, it's hard to be successful (to have a consistent winning) since the profits are not guaranteed. Thus, we should not treat gambling as our source to earn money. Hence, don't gamble if that's your main desire.
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 13, 2023, 03:19:00 AM
1. Dis the family of this young man went too extreme in trying to help stop their brother from gambling addiction or not?
Yes because they're already threatening the gambling shops which I think is not right. Although it's understandable why they resorted to this kind of solution, maybe this is the only way for them to stop the young man from playing.

2. Assuming you are this young man and you had to run to a distant location to carry out your gambling as you are allowed to gambling within your neighborhood and luckily you won huge sum of million dollars. Would you share that money with your loved ones who were barring you from gambling or you will just stay off from them and live new found wealthy live alone?
I will still share my winnings. Family is family and that's the fact. They might be against me being a gambler but I can understand that they're just concern. Winning huge is an achievement for a gambler so I will try. But I have a doubt if they will going to accept the money that came from gambling knowing their stance.
346  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Nag Rug Pull Na Nang Inis Pa, Dev Abandon NFT games on: November 13, 2023, 12:59:12 AM

347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: November 12, 2023, 10:42:24 PM
While gambling some people gamble with small amounts which is not very important for them, but for those who are new to gambling and not able to control themselves or play with something reasonable amount.
So I have a tip for them you can stick a real paper money note in front of your monitor which will remind you that money is hard to earn and play responsibly or don't play with big amounts.
the note will remind every time that how you earned that money, and if you are controlled and this tip is not very important for you them you can ignore it, but i found this helpful.
I don't think this will gonna work but it's not a pain if we're going to try, who knows right? It might be helpful to remind us not to exceeds to our limit and always stick to our set budget. It's not really easy to earn money so don't just spend it if you are not sure if you can stand losing it in gambling.

In the end it's still depend on us on how we control ourselves when we are already playing. Because if you don't discipline yourself then any strategies to remind you to play in moderation is useless.
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 12, 2023, 09:30:11 PM
Yes I often use Bitcoin everytime I gamble since it is the widely accepted crypto of the casinos. But due to the increasing transaction fees and the situation that bear market seems over (given that the price is rising because of the recent positive news affecting Bitcoin) I switched using usdt.

For now, I prefer to accumulate rather than use my Bitcoin to play. And I don't think this is an issue because we can use any coins that we prefer if we think that's convenient to use for us.
349  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: November 12, 2023, 08:56:14 PM
I have already seen a lot of sites and some casinos that become a scam, while they could have made a lot more money if they would stay open and be legit. Somtimes, they just want some quick money. Has happened before and will continue to happen.
This is true. I don't think Roobet will scam anyone, but we can never tell for sure due to various reasons. Look at sites like Ftx, Betnomi etc which seemed perfectly fine one moment and suddenly scammed many in the blink of an eye.

This is why you should never leave your funds on any site regardless of its reputation unless the amount involved is small.
Indeed. This is in general, regardless how reputable the site is and how long they're already operating, we should not leave a huge amount (unless you're going to use it to play from that very moment) on our account. Because anything can happen even the least expected. Hence, it is still best to deposit an amount that you will already use for playing and not an amount that you'll leave there for long.

Anyway, IMO as long as the business is gaining revenue, it's unlikely that they will turn to scam unless it's already planned. It just that, there are instances where the business is closing down and common reason is bankruptcy.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 10, 2023, 04:37:50 AM
If we invest in crypto of course we will choose Bitcoin as the investment we choose because it is very leveraged that we can get profits from Bitcoin if we can collect it with the strategy we choose, choosing altcoins to invest of course we have to really know well about the altcoin that we choose because it is very difficult to make a profit.
Many investors still prefer alts instead of Bitcoin because of the possibility to gain huge in a short period (especially if you invest on the current hype like meme coins) that's what they thought. But not realizing that investing solely to Bitcoin is way safer and less risky. It might take time to gain but at least it's much wiser compared to investing in altcoins.

Therefore, buy Bitcoin and keep holding because it's the best choice.
351  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 10, 2023, 03:10:11 AM
I bring up this to talk about financial freedom. What is financial freedom to you? Is it about having a certain amount of money that is required to have financial freedom or to have an amount of money which can potentially give you freedom in the future?
Financial freedom that can last longer or until you're not capable to work already is much better. Thus I will choose the second option because it's not only about the present time, it's crucial that in the future you still have this freedom so you can live the way you wanted and not struggling. It doesn't matter if currently your salary's worth is small for others, it just that, they're fortunate to live comfortably and able to buy luxury items.

Thus, don't compare what you earn to others because as long as you're doing what you can and striving to achieve your goal then it is not impossible to have a financial freedom base on your own perspective.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investment, Beyond "Invest What You Can Afford to Lose" on: November 10, 2023, 01:15:30 AM
The phrase "invest what you can afford to lose" has long been the go to advice when it comes to Bitcoin investments.
This is a basic rule and should still be apply regardless how certain or profitable the investment is. We know investing in Bitcoin is really worth it and we can attest to this fact (especially the investors who are long been here). But, despite this, we can't still recommend to someone who like to invest in Bitcoin that he/she can use any amount because the profits are guaranteed. There's still risk and we're not certain what the future holds for Bitcoin.

Therefore it just right to remind them about this common phrase although it's on the investor's discretion if they will follow this rule when they engage themselves. In the end, it's up to us since we have the right to disregard this if we are firm to what we believe in.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The zeal to invest in speculative asset on: November 09, 2023, 05:25:24 AM
Investment strategy one implement be it short-term or long-term is channeled for profit maximization. Cryptocurrency on it's own is a solid long-term investment, one which is volatile and unpredictable, which is also a speculative investment. I will say it have outperformed most asset classes in recent years; including stocks, bond, gold, and real estate. Cryptocurrency is the tomorrow of today.
Well, not all cryptocurrencies are profitable to hold. Because plenty of coins are just shitcoins without real use case. Hence, buying and holding crypto doesn't necessarily mean you'll gain in the future because it depends on the coins that you chose to buy. Moreover being a speculative asset makes it more risky compared to other investment opportunities (gold, real estate etc.), therefore an investor must know what you're getting into before deciding to invest your hard-earned money. Take time to learn to become aware of what coins are worthy to hold even it takes a long period.
354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You are also like them? on: November 09, 2023, 02:52:04 AM
Watching these YouTuber 'technical analysts' is like witnessing a comedy show. They just scribble lines on a Bitcoin chart and act like they're gazing into a crystal ball. But the reality is, they're about as accurate as a broken clock – right only twice a day. It's laughable how they sell this snake oil, predicting the future with squiggly lines. I wouldn't bet a Satoshi on their so-called insights!
When it comes to information and prediction, we can't count on these youtubers because they're not reliable. Creating this kind of content can give them money. More viewers watching their videos means more revenue for them. Therefore if newbies are relying on youtube videos to gain knowledge about Bitcoin and crypto in general, they might believe this false information.

The reason why it's better to have our research to find a reliable source to get an accurate information and not just rely to any videos on social media platform. Verify first before believing because it's not that hard.

356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What conditions might cause you to stop gambling? on: November 08, 2023, 04:56:15 AM
I know that many people try to stop gambling or reduce the intensity of their gambling because of several factors such as running out of money, being scolded by their wife, being scolded by their parents, or piling up debts. Irresponsible gambling will make us have bad conditions. I don't hope we will experience something like that because after all gambling is fun and full of challenges

But let's imagine, what kind of conditions might make you stop gambling?
First, If i'm already struggling financially. Because there's no way to continue playing if I know that I have no money to use for gambling. So it just right to prioritize looking for source of income especially I have a family depending on me. Second is work, currently that's what matters to me and also the reason why I refrain playing for a while because I want to achieve the position that I have been working on for months now.

Last is if gambling became a major issue that I have to choose what's more important between gambling and family. I'd rather stop than losing the latter. Well, they are aware that I gamble though. Anyway, if you're not addicted in gambling then quitting won't be that hard because you're still in control and can handle yourself.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: November 08, 2023, 03:12:38 AM
I'd like to share my experience with you all. Even though I'm not currently employed, I went through a phase of gambling while I was working in the past, and the outcome wasn't positive. It affected my job performance because, as you may know, when you lose, you tend to dwell on your losses and constantly think about strategies to win. When we talk about work, it usually means we're not particularly wealthy, and imagine what happens when we gamble money we can't afford to lose, especially when we're not earning much.
I did this before (I play even at work) usually when break time or when there's no so much work to attend to. Our boss is also not so strict as long as you can do your job well. I don't have issue actually about gambling being a hindrance to focus on my job, but more on the thought of losing my money and that I should not play the particular game.

But now, I rarely do this because my budget for gambling is limited and I prefer to just play at home. This way, i can enjoy more my leisure time and can play longer if I want to.
358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: November 08, 2023, 01:04:02 AM
Hallo people,

I bought some bitcoin at 26/27/30 and 31k. all profit so far, I am thinking about buying more, but is 35k te expensive to buy bitcoin?
The price is not expensive if you can afford it and you believe in its worth in the future. Moreover when your plan is to hold for long period, then it is still reasonable to buy at $35k since there are many predictions the value can reach $100k in the future. Although of course it is not certain yet and just a speculation.

Therefore, the decision depends on what you believe in and your own analysis. Just keep in mind that for long term hodler, you can buy at anytime regardless of the price (though it's advisable when the price is in dip). Anyway, you're already in profit for buying at $26k-$31k, so you know better what decision is best at this time.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: November 07, 2023, 09:50:44 AM
Cross addiction is as worst as the main addiction you are trying to quit and it is a terrible idea.
Any addiction is really not good. But if one can move on to another addiction through switching then it is his/her choice since we know it's not really easy to quit.

So a friend told me that a mutual friend tried to replace his gambling addiction with another another one because he has tried all everything else. The new addiction is PS4. He pays for extra on the game and he is getting more and more into it. According to my friend, this mutual friend feels that paying $20 per month its subscription is better than $100- $500 on slots where he ends up losing.
Well, he spend less in his new addiction so he use this reason to justify his action and he is right somehow. But this doesn't mean it is fine to do this because still, it's an addiction and nothing's change. If he really wants to move on the best thing to do is to find other activity where he don't have to lose money to be entertained. Because this is still similar to gambling, he can justify his action but the fact still remain.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice for new comers on: November 07, 2023, 05:11:46 AM
What advice do you have for newcomers diving into the world of crypto gambling? Any lessons you learned the hard way that you'd like to share?
For beginners don't gamble if you can't stand losing your money. Because in gambling that's inevitable. So have less expectation to win and only use the money that you can live without (one of the basic rules). Usually, the mindset of new gamblers who decided to gamble is, it's easy to win huge based on the advertisement where they get attracted to play. But unfortunately it's not easy as it seems, the reason why new gamblers should be aware of the risk. Because you don't have to learn the hard way to realize something if you can prevent this from happening.
