921  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 12, 2023, 07:39:35 AM
How to save savings in inflation, there are many deposits provided by the bank, but banks often go bankrupt, does it make sense to buy gold? How is gold bought in a bank and interest is issued on it?
I'll go for gold rather than saving my money in banks. Because gold is a good investment, the price is consistently increasing, though the progress is not that fast and it can take months or years. On the other side, yes there's a risk if you save in bank and the common is, the possibility to go bankrupt during inflation. But you don't have to completely get rid of saving in banks. We still need it since it is accessible especially for emergencies hence it would be wise to still have an account. However, take a precaution of not putting a huge money.

Anyway aside from gold, you can invest in Bitcoin (as others have said already) because diversifying is better since it can minimize the risk and can improve your profit.
922  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Sobrang Taas na Gas Fee today? on: May 12, 2023, 03:19:05 AM
Network congestion.

923  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not a get rich quick on: May 12, 2023, 01:16:40 AM
The bad message of this story to everyone who will read it is that crime actually pays off - because just three years in prison (is it real prison or probation?) sends a message to everyone else with similar intentions. In the worst case, the "criminal" will be released when he has served 2/3 of his sentence, and maybe even before.

Shall we bet that he will repeat the same thing as soon as he gets another chance?
True. Whatever your intention of doing such crime, it will always end up of coming back to you and make you pay for it.

Trading may be one’s way of making one’s person highly profitable but it won’t happen very quick. You should be a good trader first and learn to trade only on the potential coins that are promising and have higher chances to give huge returns. But trading using steal money will never make you profitable. Instead, it will only endanger your life and put you into your worst situation that at some point, you can’t easily get rid of it.
There's nothing wrong if you want to take risk and see if there's a good result to gain huge. However what's not right is to steal money because of your eagerness to invest in crypto and worse is he chose meme coins that we all know a quite risky investment.

It's really a lesson for many of us to not try to invest if you don't have idea of what you are getting into. Committing a crime just to invest has a punishment and you can't get away with it. So think carefully because it is still worth it to use your own money regardless of the result because you gained experience and additional knowledge through it.
924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I believe that Bitcoin will make me independent on: May 11, 2023, 07:48:26 AM
Congratulations on your achievement the fact that you are still fighting no matter how hard life is could already be considered as a big win for you, if you could continue to invest in it then I guess all you need to do is to wait for the next bull run to happen to take profit.
Just remember to take care of your health and also secure your investment, don't let it sit on trading sites " not your keys, not your crypto".

He has plenty of time on his hands for sure, but I do hope that he doesn't get stressed out about this investment. I hope that he will just do it and not really trade on it, as it is stressful and there is a possibility that it can affect him. Holding is better for his situation, and he can just forget about it for a couple of years. Also, also it is best to have a hardware wallet and tell your family about your investment just to be safe and in case of emergency.

I agree with this. I'm not sure if I could handle the stress of trading. I believe that it will be better for me to just HODL and focus my time and energy on working to earn more money that I can increase to Bitcoin  Smiley

Holding for long term is less stressful, so that would be better for you. Investing consistently every month with the budget that you have can become huge in time when the bullrun comes. Thus I hope you can achieve your goal for investing in Bitcoin.

Neverthless, I admire your positivity even you have this condition, you're not like others who thought they're good for nothing already because of their problem. But you're different, that can encourage others to never lose hope since they're still lucky to do what others can't.
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: with the high transaction fees btc makes me stronger to hold btc. on: May 11, 2023, 04:50:25 AM
1: having expensive btc transaction fees makes me stronger to hold on to btc because I don't want to waste my money on expensive transaction fees.
Well, if you're a long term hodler, you will not be tempted to sell your Bitcoin regardless of the fees for every transaction. Though it's true that many investors decided to hold at this time due to high fees, but it doesn't mean they're going to hold for long. It's just that the fees are hindering them to transfer their Bitcoin.

2: my goal of investing in btc is for a long term investment so with expensive transaction fees
makes me stronger holding btc, because my goal is to invest in btc for the long term.
The fees are indeed high but it will not last forever because it will turn down for sure in the coming weeks/months. So be firm with your decision because holding Bitcoin for long period is beneficial for you to have a chance to become a huge gainer.

I am not surprised at all because PEPE devs or team, whoever they are used mathematical scam to deceive those people, PEPE solves no issue we are facing in the crypto space, not a single one, yet people FOMoEd
Many investors wants to join the ride thinking it would be profitable to invest in the current hype coins regardless of if it has use case or not. What matter to them is the profit they can possibly get, while ignoring the risk of losing their money.

What do you think about this project madness? Will you dare invest in a project like this?
Well, I missed to invest on this one but I already tried to invest in meme coins before. It is profitable if you're lucky to take profit during peak price but it's quite risky. Many investors lose their money for being late to sell or because of greed wanting to gain more. Hence it is not advisable to invest in meme coins because it has no real use case to be sustainable. If you like to take risk then only invest what you can afford to lose because it is not similar to established coins whereas it can survive even the market is bearish.
927  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 🖤 #1 VIP Crypto Casino 💠 Come in and explore our new design ✨ on: May 10, 2023, 07:40:48 AM
I also thought before that being a participant is a difficult thing to be a participant but it turned out to be my guess wrong and being a participant is pretty easy, it's nice to be a predictor at Bitcasino too.  Cheesy
Why did you think that being a participant in these contests is difficult? You just guess without risking any money and observe whether your predictions were right or wrong. Very simple process!
Maybe what he meant is, it's easy to join but hard to win.Grin Well, that's the exciting part of this prediction contest because you need to analyze what could be the price of Bitcoin on that particular date. It's not easy to give an accurate prediction but you won't risk anything so it is always worth to try.

Bitcasino is consistent on this prediction contest and for us participants, they're giving us a chance to get free mbtc to play on their platform, that's cool.
928  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Gcash Down? Unauthorized Transactions on: May 10, 2023, 04:37:06 AM
This is not a first time, maraming beses na nangyari ito sa Gcash and with their poor security panigurado mauulit at mauulit pa ito.

Imagine having your crypto on this wallet, panigurado madame ang magpapanic. Better not to put any huge amount of money in gcash, this is not safe at all.

Even banks are having the same problem, if you have savings account for your emergency purposes better not to enroll it online just to avoid this kind of problem, mas ok kung nakapassbook lang. Be safe, and protect your money.

929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: May 10, 2023, 01:57:59 AM

Hmmm interesting, "people actually depend on gambling to make money " this is a statement I don't like seeing but notwithstanding some Hippocrates feel they can actually make steady money from gambling where as the case is different meaning gambling actually makes money from you on a daily basis. I hate to see people taking gambling as a way to escape from your financial problems because has made many folks become debtors but that I believe happens to only folks that see it as a must do affair #addiction

Just as much as you dislike it, I don't think anyone is fully in agreement that a gambler should see gambling as a means of escaping their financial problems. Gambling can instead contribute to their financial problems, like being in debt, just as you have mentioned. Although some have taken the risk and got favored with a heavy win, some people have also taken a big risk in gambling, which has landed them in big trouble. Last week I read a thread (I think it was on the Nigerian local board) where a mother and her son were sentenced to prison for gambling off a huge amount of money that was not theirs. Also, there have been a lot of stories on the gambling discussion board about people who have landed themselves in more trouble because they gambled with money that was not their own.
Because gambling is not the solution if you're struggling financially. Some gamblers thought it is the answer for them to get an instant huge money, but unfortunately it's only possible if you're lucky to win. I also read about that story you mentioned and it's just one of the worse that gamblers can do because of their addiction.

But this is really the mindset of the people I've known, but it doesn't mean that they are addicted to it; they are just threating the lottery like this, which is why they are always buying tickets on a daily basis just to try their luck, which we can't blame them for as they want to get out of poverty even though they work hard and still can't get out. Though that is really the point at which the money intended to buy food goes to the lottery, which is not good, so far when it comes to the lottery, I haven't noticed that someone tends to use that money just to buy tickets.
IMO, when it comes to lottery it is different. Because if you hit the jackpot it's indeed life changing that can make you rich. Moreover, the tickets are cheap hence even if you're buying in a daily basis, it doesn't much affect you financially compared to playing on any casino games. Because casino games can trigger you to recover your losses if you can't handle it.

Anyway, lottery is luck based game and the chance to win is slim. As long as the money that you use to buy tickets are not for important things then I think it's fine. I'm doing the same too but not everyday, I only buy when I have numbers in mind.
930  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is buying BTC now, the best option ??? on: May 09, 2023, 11:09:16 AM
I think buying at any time has the same potential and opportunity for profit, the main key after buying is not to panic when you see the market situation, it's better to keep it in a private wallet and make bitcoin a long-term investment so that the opportunity for profit is greater than we are tired of monitoring daily prices.
That's right. Well, many of us are always asking on when is the perfect time to buy Bitcoin, but the answer would depends on your plan with your investment, if it is for short term or long term. Bear market is the chance for us to fill our bags, but some investors are hesitant because they prefer to see the market recovering before they will buy.

Investing needs knowledge and plan, if you have capital to buy and willing to take risk then don't miss the chance to engage yourself already because we'll never know when might the price will skyrocket. If your plan is to hold for long term then you can buy at anytime, but much better to do it when the price is declining because it is cheaper.
931  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: May 09, 2023, 08:20:49 AM
I really regret why people ignore all of our messages in the thread that this site cannot be trusted even OP account has also been marked as a fraud.

I think it is happening as they are promoting many other ways except the forum. And for those promotions, a lot of people is falling on their trap. If you check then you would be able to know that no reputed member became victim of them as they are aware about the scam activity of the 1xbit.
That's right. The advertisement of this casino is not only limited on this forum. Certainly they have other promotions outside to lure the gamblers to play on their site and these gamblers are the ones who are falling victims of this casino after they gamble on 1xbit. Usually these gamblers who came here to complaint, only discovered the forum after they search on where to drop their problems against 1xbit.

They have no existing sig campaign running right? Maybe because they know the forum is not effective anymore to advertise their platform since many gamblers are already aware of their shady business and no one will be attracted to play, unless you're a newbie and careless on choosing a casino.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's your gambling experience right now? on: May 09, 2023, 03:32:49 AM
This is the time when you really appreciate the roles of altcoins in gambling. The likes of Dogecoin (Doge) and Litecoin (LTC) and stablecoins are great options especially when spending relatively small amounts for gambling. I feel like we are going back in time with this rising Bitcoin fees. We're moving backwards. We're brought back to the time when the strongest argument against Bitcoin is its fees. Now it is still the same, if not worse, thanks to Ordinals.
Indeed. If you still want to gamble but high fees of Bitcoin are hurting your funds, don't fret because many casinos are accepting altcoins for deposit/withdrawal with low fees. Hence, this is not a problem at all, you can still gamble anytime you want by using altcoins of your choice.

In my case, it's been a while since I last play. Good thing I checked my email because 2 casinos where I (often gamble before) sent me a promotional bonus (free spins and free chips) that I can use to play again on their sites. It's their way to attract me back on playing so I'll grab this offer while Bitcoin fees are quite high.
933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then? on: May 09, 2023, 01:52:30 AM
If you could travel back in time today, what would you do?
Of course I will change my decision of selling my Bitcoin at a low value, now that I know the price will skyrocket. But we can't turn back time, it's all in the past that we should not dwell. Back then, who would have thought that Bitcoin is a gem? I admire the early investors who managed to hold their Bitcoin for years and able to witness the bullrun.

Anyway, it happened already so instead of looking back on the mistakes you committed, much better to look forward on what the future holds. Because it's not late to hold some Bitcoin if you don't want to have regrets once again.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: May 08, 2023, 08:48:04 AM
Gambling is not a business, and neither should you ever take it as a day job, in reference to this thread - it is likely impossible to make a consistent winning from gambling, there are day you win, even much more than $100, and there are days you will lose it all, to make a consistent $100 or more every day in gambling is a mirage, wishful thinking that might never happen.
Indeed. Don't quit your day job for the reason you chose gambling as your main source of income believing you can earn each day by winning consistently. Those who think that way don't know how gambling works to be treated as their source to earn. This is the problem of some gamblers who experienced to win decent amount and decided to be a gambler full time.

Gambling is not a job and should not be treated as one. If you want to gamble, do it for fun because it's more satisfying to win if you less expect it.
935  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ NowDice.com 🎲 Low House Edge 🎲 NO KYC! 💰 Jackpot 💰 on: May 08, 2023, 05:08:51 AM
Welcome to the forum.

I just created an account and read your terms and conditions. No kyc is attractive for gamblers to play on your site because it is one of the main concern of the gamblers who wants to remain anonymous  while playing.

A 0.5% fee is applied by the payment processor for deposits, and a 0% fee for withdrawals. Users are responsible for paying any applicable blockchain network fees (gas fees) associated with their transactions. Currently, both the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and the Polygon (MATIC) network have the lowest gas fees.

In that case, something is wrong with your payment processor.
I don't know if you have adequately tested your deposit process, but here is a concrete example:

Let's say I want to deposit $50 worth of bitcoins. This is what I get when I access the deposit page:

And when we convert that amount back into USD according to the current exchange rate:

(thanks to preev.com)

So, can you help me understand where that extra 44% ($22.29) difference went?
This one really needs an explanation from op. Imagine you're not playing yet but your money is already reduced right before you receive it to your account. Can you clarify this op? So we can understand how it happened.

It is fun to gamble especially if your main desire is not win but to entertain yourself. But this can change if you didn't limit yourself on when to stop and let anger (because of losses) control you to commit a decision that you might regret later on. So always be a responsible gambler who have discipline when playing if you don't want gambling affect you negatively because of your behaviour when you gamble.
937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you love and enjoy taking risk? on: May 08, 2023, 01:39:18 AM
Some months a go, I was thinking altcoins may favour me since bitcoin is still unpredictable. I decided to invest my last cash at hand on luno, Eth, buying babe doggy, peg token and tron. I don't really understand how this things works when I bought it was all gloomy without bitcoin but in less than a week my money dried up.

What future do we really hope for altcoins without bitcoin?
Since you think BTC is unpredictable, so you know also altcoins will be definitely risky and unpredictable. I think you should avoid meme coin as like BabyDoge, don’t put large amount of money in such coin also luna isn’t good investment. You can buy only BTC & hold it long term without risk.
Low risk has low gains. But imho OP is a newbie and doesn't just know that altcoins can be unpredictable, especially those OP listed. I fact i find it weird that anyone would think altcoins would be a sure bet if btc has not decided a direction yet. If anything alts are dangerous investment if btc is not looking good. And what it sounds like is that OP invested these on these just before 2023. So btc was really struggling then.
There's nothing wrong if you want to diversify and add alts in your portfolio but don't allocate huge amount in meme coins. It's true that you can gain huge once the price soar high since the higher the risk means huge gains when it comes to meme and shitcoins. But it is not advisable to invest especially if you're planning to hold for long term.

It's best to choose Bitcoin and established alts then buy meme coins with the amount that you can afford to lose and see if you can take profit at the right time. Nevertheless investing is risky so once you invest on the specific coin make sure that you did a research to have an idea on what to expect, that's how it should be.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: May 07, 2023, 09:59:24 AM
Slot games are based on luck. If your luck that day is not good, you should quickly leave it. If not, you can get a bigger loss. And you usually won't notice it when you press the Spin button. And even better if you have a money limit to gamble with so you won't break it.

If we can think positively and accept our losses very well, so we will always be aware if we lose more than 100 spins, then we should look for new games to get luck in other games. Unfortunately, this is a difficult thing for players who have inconsistent mentality when gambling. From initially only targeting to win a few bucks, but he forgot about that target until he getting lost. The lost will bring him to unhealthy playing anymore, his playing plan was no longer carried out and he chose to follow anger while playing.
If you have no discipline and let your emotions control you then the tendency is you'll continue to play by pressuring yourself and the slot game to win and somehow recover what you already lost.

When you play slot but no luck after many spins, it would be better to switch game or stop playing already to prevent further losses. Because if you stay longer, there's no guarantee that you'll finally hit a high multiplier (that's also what I thought before). Hence, set a limit on when to stop not based on how many spins you already did but based on your budget for that particular slot game.
939  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: May 07, 2023, 07:43:55 AM
It's more exciting to join now because of the additional winners plus a chance to qualify for the free spins. Roobet is so generous to the participants and also thanks to Hhampuz for the initiative to have these changes (additional winners and free spins) for the this art contest.
Free spins will help to build stronger bonds between Roobet and art contest participants.

Rather than taking money from the art contest and use it somewhere else, they will have free spins to play at Roobet and explore more about the casino. It is helpful for them to get more ideas for their future art works too. I believe that if they spend more time on Roobet, even only with free spins, they will have more creative ideas for their arts as they will understand about more games on Roobet.

I think it's a good idea but probably will just attract users if it remains mixed including a money prize too
I don't know, just my opinion on that
if it was just free spins I think less people would join
what do you think?
Free spins like rewards may create thoughts like the site is giving the rewards but they won't let the users any real money with that even though it isn't entirely correct but it may create a bad name which is against the purpose of promotions so giving away the real money to the winners is the right thing and I noticed since the last contest the rewards are directly going to the winners wallet not to their casino account which shows the contest should not affect the users convenience meanwhile they can do whatever they want because they won it.
Why it can create a bad name? Free spins are a good promotion to attract more participants to join and of course this can have a positive impact on Roobet. As an art contest participant of Roobet, I like this new changes because it means you have a chance to gain something even you didn't win a cash prize.

It's a good idea actually that they add free spins as consolation prize because it can encourage the artist to create an artwork and do their best to get a spot for the list of winners. As I have said before, this is way better than to get nothing so I appreciate it even if I won't win.

I had never heard anything about these services and yet there seems to be people willing to risk their deposit on it.
I'm not familiar with these sites too and this is first time I heard about it. I checked the links that op mentioned but I didn't see anything that can attract me to play. I still prefer the gambling sites that can be seen here on the forum because it is also the recommended sites of many gamblers here.

Anyways, most people just needs to stick to reliable services, if they want to play safe, in my opinion.  Tongue
That's true. Why risk your money on gambling sites that you're not familiar with? If there's plenty of options here and you can be certain that it is trusted and not a scam platform.
