181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your altcoin holding with low value on: January 04, 2024, 09:20:46 AM
For those of us that are into altcoin signature campaign and have accumulate some in your wallet, what do you do with it since some of them has low value at the moment if you check their current price?

Do you keep holding it hoping that the price will finally come up since it seems you can't actually trade it with it current value.

Will the altcoin become valueless after the campaign is over or could still gain value after some years.
If the price is very low at the moment then you have no choice but to hold and hope the value will increase in the future. However, keep in mind that this depends on the project because even you keep holding (since selling won't give you profit) there's no assurance the price will bounce back. Unfortunately this is the risk of being paid in alts because chances are the coin has low value or worst turn as a dead project.
182  Economy / Economics / Re: Habits that can lead to your financial failure in 2024 on: January 04, 2024, 07:50:00 AM
👉Fear of leaving your comfort zone
Many of us are afraid to try new things and don't want to leave our comfort zone because of worries. I have been there and honestly, I can say nothing will happen if you just stay on what you used to and won't explore for new opportunities. It's normal to have worries but if you won't take risk then you can't gain anything.

You can add your point so that others can learn
Well, I think too much spending for wants instead of what is only necessary can also cause financial failure. Because if you can't manage your finances properly (not thinking wisely) spending here and there just because you have money on hand is also a factor to fail. We need to be wise and think of what is the best thing to do currently that can be beneficial for the future. That even the time comes we're already incapable to work, we still have sources to earn money.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 03, 2024, 12:51:35 PM
This now triggered me to come ask here whether you cares about what people says or sees you as when gambling, I know there are people who don't know you from time or who doesn't believe that you are a gambler and if it happens that you came across such people and their reaction towards you goes other way round would you care about it or you just totally ignore them?
It depends on who said it. Because I appreciate and understand the opinions of people who truly knows me (family and close friends) since they are just concern and it's understandable (even the words are not so nice to hear). However, if you're just someone who judge me based on what you see (and we're not even close) I just ignore it.

I'm just playing in moderation and I know better myself more than anyone else. So regardless of what they say I just ignore them. Because if you let yourself be affected it will only give you stress. Thus, as long as you're not doing anything wrong then you don't owe them an explanation.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: January 03, 2024, 08:56:08 AM
Perhaps deep down in our conscience, somewhere that we don't like to listen to, it still tells us the truth that the reason why we're going to gamble is to hopefully win money, not really to have fun.
Well, it's normal to gamble with such hope. However if that's your main goal on why you're playing, then you can't really enjoy the games because you're pressured to win since that's your goal and having losses are not fine. But if your reason to play is to kill time and to be entertained regardless of the outcome, it just shows that you are just having fun, therefore it depends on what you desire.

I know that it's said that you should gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, but will you call it a true fun when you know that there's a higher probability of losing your bet?
This is the reason why you need to condition yourself before deciding to use your money in gambling. If you can't bear the thought of facing losses when you gamble then gambling is not meant for you just to have fun.

186  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: January 02, 2024, 10:08:34 AM
Why would you want to avoid being identified, if you gamble legally and if you are not a criminal? Let's discuss the reasons why KYC are not advantageous for the gamblers and casinos?
Simple reason is because I want to play anonymously. It's all about privacy that the platform is not holding any of my private information because it can leak anytime if there's a data breach. The security of data is often a concern.

That's why if possible, I want to play without undergoing identity verification. However, we know nowadays, many casinos are implementing this for the reasons you have stated (to prevent fraud, age verification etc.) and it's a reality that we need to accept if we want to gamble in legitimate casinos since they're just doing it for legal compliance.

At first you wanted to play anonymously, cared about privacy, was worried about data leak, said that you prefer gambling without passing identity verification. But now it looks like you are first in the line to upload your documents to a casino that has good reputation; reputation that was built on gambling experience, not on privacy experience.
See the bolded part. What i'm saying is "if possible". Who don't want to play anonymously if possible? But as I have said, if you're playing in a centralized casinos expect this to be asked sooner or later. KYC thing is already expected and sometimes inevitable. So to be clear, I will only do this in reputable casinos where I am playing currently and not just in any casinos that are not trustworthy.

Besides, the thread topic where you quoted my reply is an answer for a question about the specific reason of the gamblers on why they're hesitant to submit their personal information. It doesn't mean i'm not willing, it's just my own reasoning. I still stand to what I said there.
187  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: January 02, 2024, 07:50:34 AM
We here discuss how bad or good asking for KYC is, how fair or not to do it when we withdraw, will it help to fight money laundry or not, but if you would be asked to pass it, will you do it? Will the amount on balance influence on your decision? What is the amount that will make you step over principles and start uploading your document to casino?
I will mate if I am to answer , KYC for me is nothing if dealing with the sites trusted by me for long time , because once i decide to gamble in a site for sure i gave them my trust so providing KYC will not be be an issue at all cost but this is just me I don't know with others.
Same thoughts. I only play in casino that has a good reputation. Therefore if I was asked for KYC I will do it especially if there's a decent amount involved. Moreover, once you play in a centralized casinos, KYC is already expected to be ask to their customers (sooner or later). One of the reason why we need to read the ToS before playing on the specific casino. So if we don't agree on their rules, we can look for other site where we can play without worries.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Terra LUNA revival Imminent on: January 02, 2024, 05:02:55 AM
Bitcoin $BTC was dead at $15,500 now see🔥
Those who say Bitcoin is dead at its lowest price last year probably don't know the real meaning of the word dead. Because once the coin is dead, it can't recover back and we know that's not the case for Bitcoin. If you are a real investor and did conduct a research before investing, then you won't say such thing.

Now they are saying $LUNC $LUNA is__
Just move on. There are so many coins that are worth your money and attention. Why hoping for Luna to come back? Even it does, it's not the type that can be trusted again since many investors lose their money after what happened.
189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I succeed as a trader in 2024 on: January 02, 2024, 02:00:52 AM
As we enter the 2024, many people are making plans on how to achieve financial success and personally I have decided that trading will be one of my area of focus. I'm gathering information on how to go about it. Your opinion will be highly appreciated.
Take time to learn by gaining knowledge and experience. There's a possibility to succeed in trading if you know what you're doing and not in rush to profit. Many traders failed because of their greed and unable to wait by committing a wrong decision.

Keep in mind that trading is not easy. Thus always use the money that you can live without hence even you lose (it's inevitable sometimes) it is not hard to move on since you already prepared yourself for such situation. In addition, don't rely too much in trading, it's still best to have other source of income.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 01, 2024, 11:38:56 PM
It's New Year here in our country and I happened to bump into an old friend who narrated a story about how he almost suffered a heart attack after he won a big amount of money in a casino, this was several months ago, he's lucky that his son was around at that time so he got the right treatment at the right time.
Winning a huge amount is really shocking especially if you less expect it. He is still fortunate to have his son around and his condition is treated immediately.

My question is :
Do you know the status of your health while gambling and what do you do if you happen to suffer a mild or hard stroke?

This is why I make it a point to open my messenger and have my loved one that I can contact in case, whenever I'm playing alone.
Well, it's really a must that we're aware of our health condition before playing. Because regardless of you win or lose, both can give a different emotions that might affect us negatively. Just recently, I had a full medical check up so i'm aware that I have no hypertension or heart problem.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your New Year's resolution? on: January 01, 2024, 02:03:31 PM
Well, I don't have plan to stop my gambling activity because i'm not a compulsive gambler. So my new year's resolution will be the same just like the past years. That is to only play in moderation and avoid temptations that can trigger me to be out of control. Because there are times that you'll be tempt to exceeds on your set limit for a certain reason. Moreover, I want to lessen my spent time in gambling since I was diagnose with an eye problem recently (though it was improving now).

Happy New Year everyone may this year bring full of blessings to all of us.

Just want to say thank you to Roobet management and @HHampuz for constantly bringing the artwork contest to the BitcoinTalk community. I started joining the Roobet art contest last May and I appreciate them for consistently choosing and recognizing my artwork, eventhough it was mostly only 2nd & 3rd place (Haha JK) Any place really appreciated!

Also a Happy New Year to everyone!
Congrats. Your artworks are really good. No wonder why they managed to have a slot for the specific categories. It's nice seeing the entries of those who participated but the numbers of participants are decreasing unlike before (maybe because of the holiday season and everyone is busy).

Anyway, to those who missed to join the last one, Roobet already launched the new year theme art contest. So check this out.

Roobet.com | Art contest "New Year/2024" | $2500 up for grabs! Ends Jan. 31st

194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: December 31, 2023, 01:19:48 PM
Playing online or offline gambling which is more preferable in terms of risk reduction?
Regardless of what you prefer (online or offline casino), you can still become addicted if you're not playing in moderation therefore the risk is the same. But it depends on the gambler itself on what kind of player you are.

Can you control yourself not to overspend? Because if you do then regardless where you play, you can lessen the risk of spending the money that you can't live without. Hence, it's about how you control yourself because online or offline the possibility of becoming addicted is there, it's just depends on us on how we treat gambling.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Answer this Gambling Question on Duration of Joy after a win or loss on: December 31, 2023, 08:14:39 AM
No one enjoys losing in gambling.Losing brings our hopes down, it ushers in emotional pain and grumpiness whereas, winning elevates our mood, bringing happiness and excitement. There are games where I have won and after withdrawing my winnings, I am so happy that I give gifted some of it to people around me. This doesn't last for long once the it is out of my hand and minds. I am curious, how long does this joy last after a win or a loss—does it linger until your next bet, lasting the whole day, just 20 minutes, or perhaps 2 hours?
It depends on the amount I think. But usually for me, a few minutes. After I learned to gamble just to entertain myself, winning is like an incentives. Because I have less expectation now to gain in gambling, knowing that how risky it is and it's inevitable to lose your money.

Therefore if you accept this fact before playing, then losing is not a big deal anymore and winning is like a bonus. The reason why I only have a small amount budget for my gambling activity. It's my leisure time after a tiring work.
196  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: December 31, 2023, 03:35:43 AM
You could actually solve out those problems of your own if you are really just that willing to quit gambling for good. It would really be just that depending into your self control
and discipline towards it.
Yes. It's about your willingness since we should be the first to help ourselves. So if the gambler is really determine to overcome the addiction, it will start by changing what he used to. This includes refraining from using any gadget that can tempt from playing again. It would be best to have an activity that can divert the attention and keep oneself busy. Having someone (or a community)to talk to is always good because that's how you can get a support, but as I have said, willingness is crucial.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: December 31, 2023, 02:09:04 AM
Definitely, the feeling is regret. You will be wondering why you never had the money to bet on the game in the first place. I have been in this situation once before and I could remember that I had the money then but on my way to the betting hub (back then was young and I did not have my own internet device so made use of he local betting hub around where I reside) I lost the money. On the process of finding the money, the time passed so I had to go home and act like nothing happened. The next morning i checked the scores and the game entered. I felt very bitter that day. The feeling of missing out is more annoying than the feeling of losing. However, that day i consoled myself because if the game had lost i would have been happy that i did not play the game. Everything happens for a reason and its not a spiritual thing its just being unfortunate at that point in time.
Even if I can understand in a way those which may feel this way, it is better for them to not harbor those kind of feelings for long, after all it does not make a lot of sense to be that disappointed over something you did not even had the opportunity to do.

Besides if a person can get that disappointed with a bet they did not made, then how disappointed will they get when they make a similar bet and they happen to lose it?
Exactly. You'll only regret missing the bet if it did win, otherwise, it's a relief that you didn't waste your money for nothing. It also happened to me many times in playing Baccarat, but it's my decision not to place a bet even I want to. It's just that, I'd like to see the result first if I chose it. That's why it's gambling, you'll never know what's going to happen next.

Nevertheless, don't dwell in the past and move forward because no matter how regretful you are, it happened already thus you have to accept that fact.
198  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 31, 2023, 01:18:16 AM
Welldone mate , because their is nothing like learning from your own mistake and not just learning but also using it as a means of improving yourself. Gambling is something that everyone needs to thread carefully with because if you take it upon your head to be obsessed with the act then it will definitely ruin you to the very brim and believe me gambling can fuck you up in a very bad way. Anyone that have gotten some kind of experience in gambling will let you know that it's a never a child play to gamble, I mean your mind needs to be strong and ready for whatever that might come your way.

but we must realize, that more novice gamblers who try gambling do not come with such readiness. mostly because of friends' invitations or seeing friends playing and it looks like it's fun, so they try the game.
A more responsible mindset usually occurs after several losses that the player begins to realize on their own. whether he gets benefits from gambling or gets more losses.
Gamblers who became aware of gambling because of friend's recommendation usually play unprepared for the possible outcome of using their money in gambling. They just thought this activity can make their money double in snap. Probably we once have this mindset too when we're just a beginner. But after experiencing it ourselves, we became aware of how it really works and if it is possible to profit or it's meant solely to entertain ourselves.

We have an option on how to treat gambling. But it's a must that we have discipline in order to control ourselves. Because that's often the reason why many gamblers are becoming addicted.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin will bring you hope and gambling will leave you destitute. on: December 29, 2023, 07:38:34 AM
Losing a huge amount of money and ended up with huge debt as well are the worst. We often realize our mistakes after we lose our money and it's sad that we have to experienced such before learning something. If only the money is use to invest in Bitcoin (or in other opportunities) the result might be different.

Gambling is never a way to gain money, it is only possible if you're lucky. Therefore it should be treated as a way to entertain ourselves and not to grow our money. I just feel sad for the father who support his son to get a job yet the son didn't value everything he had.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: December 29, 2023, 03:51:56 AM
👉 Don't take popular opinions as an investment advice.
Indeed. It's not good to rely on other's opinions or suggestions. Exert an effort to gain knowledge because it's crucial and a must thing to do if you're going to invest your hard-earned money. Take their opinions as guide and not as a financial advice. Remember that you're still the one in control to have a positive result when it comes to your investment.

👉 Stop relying on Telegram channels or Reddit groups for trade signals or investment advice.
When I was a newbie I thought this is helpful and reliable. But after experiencing to lose my money, that's how I learned that it is still best to have your own understanding.

👉 Stop over diversification, what I call over diversification is putting your money in every crypto project that comes your way.
Diversifying is not bad. However, don't make it to a point that you're simply adding any projects in your portfolio just because you would like to join the ride of those quite risky coins that likely to give a huge return in a short period. Always DYOR or stick to Bitcoin if you're not certain what projects are good to invest in.
