2521  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you could create a new society from the ground up, what would you do? on: May 23, 2014, 04:38:16 PM
Too many people are focusing on the political system of the new society.  The reality is that the political system will end up reflecting the population's inherent nature, sooner or later.

The solution is to carefully select your people.  Good genetics = good society.  Whatever traits you want society to have make sure that they are abundant in your founding stock.  Additionally you will want a sense of community, so make sure to select a small number of people, so that eventually everyone will have some sort of family connection to everyone else.  I might go with as few as 64 founders, assuming that we would have rapid population growth to cope with inbreeding concerns, though I would probably double or triple that just to be safe.  If population couldn't grow then I would select about 3000 founders.
People are always trying to gain power, and no matter how much conditioning to believe in the system they get, many someones will try to, and eventually successfully, put themselves above everyone else.
Someone who has a superiority complex almost always has self worth issues. It's ironic yes but if we removed the self worth issues, the superiority complexes would probably go too. Also, what could be achieved by putting yourself in power that would be any better for you that the situation you are in now?
I don't think any amount of conditioning can change human nature.
2522  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US House Rejects Measure to End War on Terror on: May 23, 2014, 04:30:33 PM
Republican House members don't want to give up the authorization to use military force because in the future they may want to use it on the Democrats.
You don't give up a juicy tool that can help you seize power and cling on power. Fear, them, fake patriotism, are their favorite and primal tools of relevance. Take them away from them and...they are obsolete. You don't need to be a qualified intellectual people's servant if all you have to do is to say "No," no to everything.
2523  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sudanese Muslim woman sentenced to death for Christian conversion on: May 23, 2014, 03:08:32 PM
Just checked the US aid to Sudan wiki and found that we give Sudan $420,349,319 in federal aid.
WFT is our government doing giving this country anything that doesn't explode when it hits the ground? This is what's wrong with OUR country. I don't care about SUDAN. I've served in our military, fought in our "wars" and nothing good has come from it. Now you tell me that not only are these people so backwards that they would execute a citizen because they marry a Christian, but we're literally funding it. Shame on Sudan sure. But shame on us for giving them a single penny.
Until we realize that we're not the worlds police, we're going to continue to make mistakes that relegate us to our future role. No more democracy, just a  hypocrisy.
The question is...where is this money going? for all you know the silly government could be funding terrorists..why aren't they following up with where the money is going? I honestly don't believe the money gets to the intended people it ends up on corrupt politicians
I don't care what they do with the money. It doesn't matter. The Sudanese government shouldn't get a penny from our country. Their government is the problem. This woman didn't get sentenced to death by her local church. It is the law there. The federal law. Why we are giving them any money is just completely shocking to me and it needs to stop now!
2524  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.N. TORTURE REPORT ON VATICAN DUE FRIDAY on: May 23, 2014, 03:06:00 PM
So what I gathered from this piece is that it is not ok to rape little children, but it is ok to kill them before they are born....hmmm there is definitely no dissonance there.
It's like they're saying the kids should be glad they're Catholic - it's better to be molested than aborted. Once the Catholic church gets rid of all homosexual priests they will no longer have an 'abuse' problem. That's their problem, except by now they probably have more than enough homosexual bishops and cardinals to protect the ones who are preying on altar boys.

It is starting to affect the foreign tourists.

Thailand coup: tourists must abide by curfew

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/asia/thailand/10849092/Thailand-coup-tourists-must-abide-by-curfew.html
I was in Bangkok a few years back when the army and tanks were on the streets. It didn't make the slightest difference to most people and tourism just carried on as normal. Going out again soon and will not change my plans.

Western companies continues to lose business....

Bombardier's $3.4-billion Russian deal in peril

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/russia-reconsidering-34-billion-bombardier-q400-deal/article18816643/
The Ukraine is in Russia's sphere or influence and a minor player like Canada pounding their chests isn't going to do it.
What would happen if Russia started trying to court Quebec to break away from Canada or Texas or Alaska in the US. Some things are meant to stay as they are.
2529  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama has asked Modi to visit USA inspite of VISA ban on: May 23, 2014, 11:58:30 AM
Apology is in order by USA to Narendra Modi for imposing a selective, exclusive policy that denied his visa. US has no moral integrity to deny him while embracing all the country leaders who have engaged in human rights violations, conducted ethnic cleansing, denied freedom of religion, depleted Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh, and remained silent when Kashmiri pundits were forced flee their homes to live in tents.

I don't think that the US will ever issue an apology. But as you said, this is hypocrisy at its best. The US denied visa to Modi, accusing him of taking no steps to prevent the Gujarat riots. Looking back at history, the Gujarat riots were a tragic set of events, where two communities clashed with each other, receiving hundreds of casualties. But I don't understand Modi's role here. He did all that he could to calm the situation. On the other hand, look at those who denied him the visa. The same people who bombed the orphanages of Belgrade and other cities in Serbia, killing hundreds of children.
US  Administration got suckered into internal matter of sovereign India. Without waiting for verdict of India's constitutional and judicial due process, it pronounced its verdict on Modi, based entirely on false propaganda.  Now it does not know how to extricate itself from mess it created, so it is digging in deeper and deeper.
2530  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Britain to give sex change drugs to nine-year-olds on: May 23, 2014, 11:45:38 AM
I know of one such case, I am sure there are more, in the US where the nine-year-old male child of a Lesbian couple felt sure he was the wrong gender. He was administered drugs which essentially chemically castrated him. When I learned of the case, he was 12 or 13 and living as a teenage girl. Where do they find doctors willing to prescribe these drugs in such an appalling situation? A child may be confused about many things regarding his/her place in the world. Isn't that an occasional part of being a child (or any human for that matter.)?That should never mean the child is given the responsibility of such a consequential decision. It is madness!

2532  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE MORE. UP TO 0.0014 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 22, 2014, 10:58:08 PM
Thank you, I've recieved my payout as UpDown has promised.

I'm wondering, who are the spammers
1JE6n6udjaJEwKKjJKNjUBvWdtqNFkh1o1 and 18DtKCK86CKHduAg2QTz2TiYq3AcnLL3fd?  They have received 0.8424 BTC and 0.4572 BTC respectively.

Because I've NEVER seen a hero member spam that much, I know that they are probably Full member or maybe senior member.
0.8424 BTC = ~100 posts/day at a senior member's rate...  They were probably spamming, I suggest you look into them xD

Well, either they are spammers, or post random posts, OR just have a lot of free time.  A bit too much for a human being Tongue

It was Ranlo and Coinjournal. We're starting to watch hard since 3rd week.

...and this is what Ranlo said after the last Payout !!!

Look at his previous posts. They're all short, lol. So I'd go with the latter.

Also, this post is to confirm my payment was received! And I will +trust you now too, UpDown.BT. THANKS!
I noticed that as well (see my edited post). It seems really sketchy.

I definitely think that the OP needs to evaluate posts people make. The campaign induces the desire to spam, and that's not good. On top of this, a lot of people around here are making worthless posts to try and get their count up.

Two solutions:

1) Open it up to only Sr/Hero (which helps cut down on a lot of this stuff)
2) Evaluate posts and remove people that are spamming

Otherwise he's going to run out of money quick, and those of us that are legitimate are going to get screwed like always.

Ranlo is still sending PM to OP to enjoy privilege. This person has not learned anything but shameless oiling.

Hey, UpDown.BT, can you please check out the PM I sent you yesterday? Guessing you missed it, :p.

Thanks!

what are you saying exactly? i have seen ranlo around. seems like a solid poster and does not seem to spam.

people are gonna hate on others cause there not good at keeping posts constructive like others can.  This week i been to busy but soon will be very involved in the forum as well.

2534  Economy / Economics / Re: Jim Rickards' New Book "The Death of Money", Review on: May 22, 2014, 05:33:04 PM
I very much enjoyed Rickards' first book, "Currency Wars." This was a very good sequel, although in my opinion it doesn't rise to the same level.
The premise of the book is fairly straight forward: The current monetary system is unsustainable and it's bound to collapse. It all can be boiled down to a few reasons: debt, structural problems in the world economy, derivatives, and out-of-control increases in the money supply. I suspect that a lot of readers will not agree with everything Rickards has to say, but I also suspect that a lot of readers will learn something new by reading this thought-provoking book.
2535  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the fuck do we still use cash? on: May 22, 2014, 04:15:18 PM
Cash is something that will ALWAYS be used because of its simplicity
+ A simplicity that we still need it ,i love bitcoin but i still like ti use cash ,cash is anonymous and widely accepted, and has zero transaction cost.
2536  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin adoption by paypal / eBay in a near future on: May 22, 2014, 04:03:33 PM
Adoption is definitely speeding up. In the last 3 days I have made more bitcoin purchases from newly-accepting online businesses than in the previous 2 months combined. It feels so good to be able to spend bitcoin without ever considering fiat. Eventually I will forget what a dollar looks like.
eBay thinks the digital currency is a threat to PayPal.Perhaps once bitcoin exchanges become more secure and developers near guarantee a safer and more secure bitcoin community then it’s possible that cryptocurrencies will merge with PayPal and others like it.

Motivating numbers guys, hope to get up there pretty soon. My highest earning day so far is $50 (Hostgator referral). Gotta bring that number up though!
2538  Other / Off-topic / Re: Date Ideas on: May 22, 2014, 01:09:40 PM
I suggest a short activity, 1-2 hours in the late afternoon. You can get to know the person enough to know if you want to continue getting to know them with only a small time commitment if they suck. Something like mini golf or coffee. Then if things are going well, invite them to do something after like going out for drinks at a fun bar that has games you can play or to get a bite to eat or to help you make a pizza and watch a movie while you eat. If you already know the person just pick anything you know you'll both enjoy and can have a decent conversation.
2539  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which Console, Xbox One or PS4? on: May 22, 2014, 12:53:37 PM
I've had both xbox and ps2 and found that xbox was the better system.. I had xbox 360 and ps3 and sold my ps3 rather quickly so going with past experience I decided to skip the ps4 and just get the xbox one. And I'm telling you right now , no regrets it is a awesome console.. And with the better exclusives out already and titanfall and halo 5 it's only gonna get better ! Playstation is suppose to be the "true gamers system" where are the exclusives?? Killzone?? No thanks and ya the playstation has more power but who's to even say that they are gonna take full advantage of that!
You need to wait a bit more before judging a console, it's not even a year since the consoles came out and you're saying the PS4 is not a true gamers system, I can clearly tell you're an xbox fanboy. Give the console at least two years so they can start to shine and then we'll see who is the clear winner. Look what happened last gen, and PS3 turned out to have the better exclusives than the 360.
This isn't a xbox fanboy thing dude. If you haven't played any of the gears of war,any of the Halo Series, and if you even haven't played Ninja Gaiden 2 on the Xbox systems you definitely missed out. To top it all off PS 3 had really crappy exclusive games. I'm not bashing the PS systems its just the fact that the PS systems seemed to have lost its edge with actually coming out with a good game. Titan Fall actually is a good game. Halo 5 with no doubt be a bad ass game... PS had its moment when it first came out and started dying out around the PS2 generation. PS 3 was OK and it had MORE power but sadly PS 3 wasn't taking advantage of it. Maybe PS4 can make up for it and come out with something good for me to buy it....Until then XBOX ONE is the way to go.Besides no body said you can't buy both systems... Trust me on this dude.
