Just a few general questions here:

First, should we not all first and foremost agree that capturing this guy is good news?
That does not mean we can't note the timing or the subsequent bullshit from Obama water carriers.

Quote
Second, trial and conviction is perfect. We have over 200 such terrorist convictions under US law. Seven under military tribunal.

I have no comment on that other than to say reasonable people disagree on the best way to deal with captured terrorists.  But certainly I want him tried, convicted, and executed.

Quote
Third, those citing the NY Times investigation are exactly the same people for denounced the NY Times investigation for the conclusions it did make. And now they are here to cite the Times for what it did not conclude. Now that is funny.

Utterly false.  There are those who believe only what Obama water carriers tells them to believe, and then there are those who can actually think critically.

Quote
Fourth, if the guy who led the terrorist attack claims it all started with a protest against the movie, who here thinks they know more than he did about that night?

Who cares about "if" other than Bots?  Do facts not matter, Phud?  The point is there is no verifiable evidence he did.  But there is verifiable evidence there was no reports from those on the ground that night regarding a spontaneous protest or a video.

Quote
Fifth, if it all did begin as a protest against the movie, so what? The first Intel reports given by Rice suggested that and that is good, it means they were right and the movie was a factor.
Uh, the point is that it did not begin that way and regardless what was given to Rice, the initial reports did not include the meme.  Again, do facts not matter, Phud?

Quote
Sixth, there appears to be no al Qaeda connection here, offsetting a right wing claim that the intent was to coverup Al Qadea's continued existance.
The Senate Intelligence Committee has now released its declassified review of the intelligence surrounding the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. The bottom line is this: Multiple parts of al Qaeda’s international terrorist network were involved.

Members of both Ansar al Sharia in Derna and Benghazi took part in the attack, according to the U.S. State Department. Some have tried to distance Ansar al Sharia in Libya from al Qaeda’s network, despite the fact that Ansar al Sharia in both Yemen and Tunisia are officially recognized by the U.S. government as being tied to al Qaeda. Ansar al Sharia in Yemen is, in fact, an obvious rebranding of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

Now if what the  guy said is confirmed, then everything the administraiton said is absolutely true, largely the NY Times conclusion of their investigation.
Uh, no.  Nice try.  The administration has already confirmed their meme was, at the very least, not correct.  I know you want to pretend they weren't trying to sell it as a SPONTANEOUS protest, but it is a FACT that they did and a FACT that was totally false and that they knew it in real time.

Quote
So what? Good news, your government got it right.
Their incompetence created an ungovernable terrorist hidey hole in Benghazi, got four Americans killed on 9/11's anniversary, and then after a blatant coverup and continued stonewalling, they finally picked up the guy who has been walking around in the open since it happened.   This following the much touted release of 5 major Gitmo terrorists and the very quiet release of 12 more the same week from the military prison near Kabul.

Where do you think Noah got the Kangaroo's and the duckbilled platypuses from? Did he just jet over to Australia on a 777?

Why do you think most Americans now depend on FOXNews for the truth and ignore sources like MediaMatters? Why do you think that the New York Times is failing financially and is no longer trusted?
Could it be because they have been openly carrying Obama's water for the last six years and have given up any pretense of unbiased reporting?

yeah.. the NY times debunked that shit... in their first interview with him... when the obama administration could not find him... he said absolutely nothing about any video...

and now... what a miracle... its about the video... what utter bull..... this is...

Only to a right winger is disciplinary action for improper use of property a bad thing, and only when done by leftists. Right wingers just LOVE property rights, but here she is perfectly willing to see the Library's property rights thrown about for mercenary gain for the publication and for the political salivary glands of psychotic Teabaggers like KC.
Congratulations once again on showing us just exactly how hypocritical a rightwinger can be. I'm sure, however, you'll manage to top that soon enough...
2345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Alleged Benghazi Ringleader Was Reportedly Responding To The Anti-Islam Video on: June 21, 2014, 11:27:11 AM
So we are supposed to be persuaded the administration did not the peddle a lie for WEEKS that Benghazi was a spontaneous protest over a video,  which went awry when some bad characters seized the opportunity to join the fray.  And the proof of that is a Media Matters piece which is based on a NYSlimes piece that just happen to come  out after the lie unraveled but before the election?  So this piece makes unsourced claims that a terrorist said something in private conversations?
Let me get this straight.  WHILE in the middle of a preplanned terror attack, Abu decided then would be a good time to inform his follow terrorists why they were there? And it was nothing but pure coincidence that it happened on the anniversary of 9/11?
And this, to you, is more compelling than the testimonies of all those who were there, and every piece of hard evidence we have that shows the administration (both the CIA and SD) knew in real time there was no spontaneous protest and those attacking our unsecured facilities were Ansar Al Sharia?
Let me guess...you believe that only the computers of those tied to the IRS scandal actually crashed and destroyed pertinent email records and that was just one of those unlucky happenstances when there are multiple redundant backups required by law?

Lol.   Yeah, I think that is about all I need to say about it.

I do NOT believe China will make their move against the US until they have all three of their Aircraft Carriers fully operational, and their military fully trained with them and their new Stealth fighters.

Even then, I suspect they will block us out of all Asia before the begin taking Taiwan, etc.
I did say it 'seems'.  It may be more a battle of bluffs between them.

Meanwhile, it is clear that if Russia wants all of the Ukraine, Russia could take it.  I don't think all is wanted - just those areas where there are primary Russians (and are more industrialized, perhaps).  Either way, Ukraine appears to be in no shape to resist.

What might be Putin's overall strategy in this is the bigger concern for the West.

In anticipation of broader Russian expansion, it seems, it is reported that US troops are being sent to Poland (as part of NATO), and perhaps the Baltic states also.

Whatever happens to Crimea going forward, or to the rest of the Ukraine, the administration appears to be making it clear that such expansion will not be allowed to go farther.

It could, however, also anger Russia further.

http://news.yahoo.com/us-ground-forces-sent-poland-report-says-155733017.html

Yup, Obama's near perfect weakness, and the world laughing at Obama as Putin pisses in his face, just may be what Putin needs to start a Global world war. That  will cost a huge amount of money, however, the benefit will be to reduce the number of humans with a pulse.
China has long term goals, Russia has short term goals, and Obama has erased ALL American goals.

When the agreement was signed NOBODY could imagine such a weak, paper tiger president as Obama.

It will get very interesting!
2349  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War is in the Air!!!! on: June 20, 2014, 03:05:47 PM
I even question whether Russia could carry through on his threat. Russian nuclear capabilities are not necessarily as high as the US, they lost a lot of warheads when the other Republics declared sovereignty, and while I'm sure they could wreck a dozen or so cities, I don't really think that they could reduce us to radioactive ash. There are no winners, but I think we are in a position where we could survive as a nation, if not as a power.
2350  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War is in the Air!!!! on: June 20, 2014, 02:54:05 PM
The notion that Putin would go "nuclear" even if we were to do something to restrain him in the Crimea is silly. Not that we are.

That said, it is possible that we are simply in one of those phases when we've got to get the heebie-jeebies out of us. It's the thing about carnivores, we have to let out aggression. As a species we've restrained ourselves pretty well over the past fifty years or so, but, the reality is that we're pressing in each other too much, resources are too few, and something's gonna give.

Let the parents decide for themselves if they want to vaccinate their children.
However, any households that have non-vaccinated inhabitants will be immediately relocated into a non-vaccinated quarantine region of Death Valley where they will be free to live the remainder of their lives in smug indignant ignorance.

Electing the first black/first woman is not a good reason
No, it wouldn't have been. And it won't be, when Hillary is elected in 2016. Barack Obama was elected President because the American people had enough "leadership" from the Republican party under Bush/Cheney, and because the alternative the Republican party was a combination of more of the same in the form of John McCain, and something much, much worse in the form of Sarah Palin. Then, even though Barack Obama was extremely vulnerable in 2012, due to a deliberate effort to sabotage our country by the Republicans, he STILL won re-election because again, the alternative was a return to the failed policies of the past, and because the candidates the Republican party offered, Romney and Ryan, were clearly out of touch with the American people, and Romney actually openly told his supporters that he didn't care about almost half the population. Republicans want to win a national election? Stop feeding us right wing ideologues and those who pander right wing ideologues as candidates.

I keep telling you guys, and you never get it - the extreme right and extreme left do not elect Presidents. The extreme right is going to vote Republican. The extreme left is going to vote Democrat. It is the middle - both politically and economically - who decide who will be President. Unless you start trying to appeal to the center, your sphere of influence is going to become more and more concentrated, and you will never again win a national election.
When Obama was nominated, the news sources were all chortling about the opportunity to make history by electing the first black president, and as Thomas Sowell pointed out in the OP article, both the voters and the media ignored Obama's ominous past because they wanted to elect the first black president. Reverend Wright was ignored. Bill Ayers was ignored. Frank Marshall Davis was ignored. Obama's own radical family was ignored. And most of all, Obama's penchant for associating with far left radicalism was ignored.
Greek columns, messianic claims, people swooning in the aisles, a media love fest, and an almost total loss of common sense resulted in electing a far left and incompetent radical, simply because he was handsome, because he was a great orator, and most of all, because he was black.

Some now think we will make the same mistake in 2016, and elect Hillary Clinton simply because it's time to elect a woman and it's her turn
2353  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Electing the first black/first woman is not a good reason on: June 20, 2014, 12:29:46 PM
When someone says that Obama got elected because he is black - is that not using the race card?

But seriously, do people not see how ridiculous they sound that they think that someone untoward has happened when a black man is elected President, the first time in this country's history, and it is more than TWO HUNDRED YEARS since the country has been independent?

Do they not see how ridiculous their claim is?
2354  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China's scary growth! on: June 20, 2014, 12:17:45 PM
With the GOP, do not expect any jobs created or infrastructure rebuilding as in their minds they fantasize they "built that."
Thanks to Bush's "Most Favored Nation" status, China also took five million jobs though WalMart, Home Depot and the other GOP big box store, low-wage, business poster children fared well from cheap imports which was, of course, was not passed on to workers while taxpayers were hit with welfare subsidies to make up for the low wages like food stamps.
As people may have forgotten, Bush-Cheney mortgaged America's future to Communist China by borrowing $1.7 TRILLION to finance their 23+ years of combined wars in Afghanistan and Iraq based upon lies and oil greed. Ironically, China garnered the largest Iraq oil contract that is now in jeopardy as Iraq slowly falls apart.
Though China has been stealing US business and military secrets costing billions annually, America corporations continue to import billions of cheap goods while selling them our polluting coal. The one positive is US auto sales in China which the GOP will snark about but not all the cheap consumer goods that cost the most jobs.

You honestly believe any shit coming out of the government grist mill, don't you? You probably also also believe their inflation index as correct, even after food and fuel costs were removed from the equation.
Must be nice to be a mushroom, living in a temperature controlled cave and being fed a constant diet of sterilized horseshit.
Dat your president and his regime! Carry on, fandango ranger!
2356  Economy / Economics / Re: The United States has finally recovered the jobs lost during the Great Recession on: June 20, 2014, 10:54:13 AM
What Obama and company will not do is have this question asked:

"Of those that have lost their jobs and got ones back- how many have a job situation equal or better then what they originally lost."

I would go in 1815 and i would tell napoleon not to engage at Waterloo, or warn him that he had to either dispatch marshal Ney earlier in order to prevent the allied forces from meeting up or to get two parallel communication systems in place.
he would have won, it would have been interesting to see what a french superpower dominating Europe would have turned up.
2359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China's scary growth! on: June 20, 2014, 10:23:49 AM
It's really hard to say. China's expansion is, in a lot of ways, dependent on the US. Both as consumer of goods and as debtor. If the US declined in power, this wouldn't necessarily be a good thing for China.
2360  Economy / Economics / Re: How to strengthen a country's currency? on: June 20, 2014, 09:37:01 AM
I would really like to know the best way to strengthen a country's currency.
Increase in it's import or export?
Please share some good ideas.
There are so many different factors that could strengthen a countries currency, but it all comes down to demand. If the currency is in demand it will strengthen. Lots of things could cause this demand - higher interest rates (better return for investors) for example.
