1521  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Syria vs. ISIS on: August 21, 2014, 03:34:58 PM
Hmmm...let's recall.

When Bashir Assad started using chemical weapons on his own people, Obama wanted to stop him and went so far, against the better judgment of Congress and leftists, and the racist judgment of rightwingers, to threaten to bomb him without either Congressional OR UN authorization.

We can all remember, of course, the splenetic outrage at the mere threat, not the execution the mere threat of bombing Assad. It was a waste! Who cares if he uses WMD! Obama should never have drawn a red line!

Now, fast forward to ISIS. Obama doesn't draw a red line, and expresses reluctance to bomb. Now the rightwing says, "But, it's a humanitarian crisis! It's genocide! Why didn't he stop it before! We have to go to war war war.

People deny my statement that much of the division of this nation arises from the outright hatred for and racism towards the black guy in the White House, such that no matter WHAT he does he is deemed wrong.

Isn't this the perfect example of that?

We need to deal with the rightwing in this nation. They need to be silenced, one way or the other.
If you want to test the weakness of a leftist argument, see if he played the race card. If he did, did he present any evidence that race played a part? If not, you can simply throw it in the trash where it belongs.
When Obama was being seen worldwide as issuing meaningless moving red lines, he asked Congress to authorize bombing Syria.  Even without the hyperbole, he is full of crap.
1522  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Mission to Rescue Hostages in Syria Failed on: August 21, 2014, 02:58:43 PM
This mission should have never been made public. Giving the enemy any information of successful or failed missions does nothing but make future missions more difficult. We have seriously incompetent Idiot-in-Chief in charge.

Then Obama goes off and plays golf less than an hour after making his "ISIL" speech. Disgusting.
1523  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Consequences of high minimum wages: Automated ordering kiosks on: August 20, 2014, 04:39:24 PM
It's not all bad, automation increases efficiency and thus purchasing power.

On other hand, there needs to be solution for people who can't find work any more.

With respect to the fast food jobs that are being lost, this is 100% caused by being priced out by government intervention in payroll related costs. It's ridiculous to force employers to pay above market wages for jobs like this and expect to not have consequences with respect to job loss.
Be careful when you say "market wage"

We dont have a free market, so a "market wage" is not simply determined by supply and demand. "market wages" are affected by things like govt assistance programs and minimum wage.

I would argue that if you abolished the minimum wage and eliminated welfare programs, the "market wage" for many of these lower level jobs would be substantially higher than the current minimum wage. Prices for these goods would simply increase or companies would naturally move toward automation if they determined that their customers had no desire to interact with an employee.

Arguing that an arbitrary number (the current minimum wage) is adequate just because no one wants to increase it is dumb.
1524  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Consequences of high minimum wages: Automated ordering kiosks on: August 20, 2014, 04:04:42 PM
"There are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers," Obama said. "You see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM, you don't go to a bank teller, or you go to the airport and you're using a kiosk instead of checking in at the gate."
1525  Other / Politics & Society / Re: American journalist James Foley reportedly beheaded by ISIS on: August 20, 2014, 04:01:23 PM
This is the jay-vee team obama isn't worried about? Now they are making demands on the US with threats for more beheadings if obama doesn't do as they say?  Someone remind me why what happens in iraq has no bearing on the US and pulling out all our troops was the right thing to do? Foley was captured in Libya, moved to Syria and now he's been executed by isis in iraq, somehow I think our foreign policy in the ME hasn't exactly created peace or allies.
1526  Other / Politics & Society / Re: President Obama has no foreign policy on: August 20, 2014, 03:28:40 PM
I imagine he has a policy in mind always, but I have to say it seems inconsistent to me. I can't decide whether I don't have the information, he is over thinking things, or he is incapable of implementing the policy.

This whole trollstory reminds me of yet another one of dooglus conspiracy theories I found recently: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740664.msg8369873#msg8369873

Hmm. That's a new one to me. I never heard of timmy before but can't reply since the thread is locked.

I guess it's pretty obvious to all that I'm not timmy. timmy doesn't seem to understand provable fairness...

Now back on topic: with the player loss/profit removed from display, and site profit equal to player profit * -1 (if I understand the latest changes correctly) I though it would be easier to figure out what's going on. But now I'm as confused as ever. I invested at the very beginning and my profit is still negative. However the site is showing up by 12 BTC. What does that mean?

Click 'invest (new)' at the top of the page. It shows your total profit. Is that positive?

The profit you see on the main page is your profit that hasn't yet been charged commission.

It's possible your current profit is negative but your total profit is positive.

Edit: note how total profit minus (total commission times 10) is equal to current profit.
dooglus you think I should invest 1.5btc here?

also can you loan me 52 btc so I can make as much as commission as you?   JK

1533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Bitcoins on: August 19, 2014, 05:03:55 PM
if block chain can provide an active graph and tell us how many bitcoins are being ciruculated and what has been dead for over a year might be cool to see.  Though Im sure it wont be an actual analysis but could help markets improve also with that kind of data.
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So if altcoins go on the rise what new coins are there to look into before? on: August 19, 2014, 02:58:33 PM
Right now I am watching, and mining, burst because it uses HDD capacity to mine which I find interesting.

Of course if altcoins go on the rise everything will make a slight rebound but I am wondering about interesting coins that newly got something different that might get a huge jump.

Hey im going to be launching a coin that will have backing, the product that will be used for backing will be released when the coin is developed.  I say it will be much more better then alt coins as it will be protected from pumps and dumps, I already have a thread on my concept.  I own acres and acres of lands in Europe and soon you will find out that this will be a coin with much more stability because of a slow price growth. Not the usual  get rtich pump an dump coin that happens within a month.
I am looking forward in seeing what you will be bringing into alt coins, tired of pump and dump coins as I had lost money in trading.  If your coin can be safe proof from dumping, then that can bring alot of value to it alone and faith.
1535  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: August 19, 2014, 02:52:56 PM
Sounds like you got duped into buying bad equipment (erupters haven't been making anything a around a year), also do the math before you mine and you may end up cutting close, but also remember you can sell that miner for even more ROI.

I believe if you can get free electricity and sell the miner after you get even with ROI the is possible you can sell it and get half profit from what you paid on the miner, still is risky but if you open an online shop it might just work.  Also selling on ebay will kill profits if you try to sell it there.
1536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hash Rate just hit 200 000 000 GH/s! on: August 19, 2014, 02:44:22 PM
God damn it! I quit! I'm pulling the plug. I am done.

I knew this day was coming soon, but I didn't expect it to arrive until 2015. Yuck!
In a few hours, the difficulty will be ~24 billion.
Did a huge farm just open up recently or something???

Im sure that the guys who are in ROI with there rigs, are just investing and investing so then double to triple there ROI, the ones who started mining in the beginning are the ones who are gonna be left mining bitcoins

It is no longer a race of who can get the most hard ware... it is now... Who has access to the most cheap power... the hard ware will come.

Actually that is also true, thats why I been doing research on free energy,  was looking into a invention by skimmer who was able to use gravity power machine to output 10000 times the amount it gets.  Now imagine that, you power 10 th miners with this machine or alot more
1537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Promoting Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2014, 02:41:40 PM
Who is promoting bitcoin? We are, the people. Just keep telling everyone you know about the greatness and benefits of bitcoin and it will spread like wildfire. It's only a matter of time before the masses cotton on to it but we can help it get there quicker by promoting it the best we can in any way we can.

I have a business here in the US and I have been promoting by giving paper wallets to my customers and I tell them here is a bitcoin, they ask me what it is, but on the paper wallet I have a link on card so all they have to do is go to bitcoin.com to watch the video.  Also I tell them is a digital currency.

So do you actually put money on the paper wallets or is there just a link to a video? If yes, how much do you put on? Do you accept bitcoin in your store too?

Yes there is a link with a video, and I put about 50 cents to 2.00 dollars depending on the item.  I tell them they can use the paperwallet to discount on a purchase and I apply the discount, is not much but I am trying to get the word out about it.

I think you're just threatened by the strength of my sexuality. You keep us women down because you're jealous of the fact that my body can turn heads while still being capable of doing work as well as (or better) than you can and yours can't.
there you go, exactly what i wanted you to understand when i said that it's all part of a gender package. congratulation on grasping the concept
