I really don't get this machine. All I did was keep reconnecting the lan interface until finally the pings came back under .0xxxx. Is it that the network card they used is a cheap piece of crap? Can I change this part out to a better one? If so, any recommendations? Also, can anyone verify that the cat3 cable I installed by mistake will not work? The rig connects to my network on it and I can connect to it. After moving my rig back on a known working cat5e line it still had high latency issues when ping openwrt, until eventually working after reconnect to lan several times.

Edit: According to google cat3 is good for 10Mbps. I only have 6Mbps on this crappy att dsl. So theoretically the cat3 I have should work for this application just fine? Maybe if I would've just kept hitting reconnect it would've worked on that line as well?

have you tried a laptop or pi on the end of the cat 3 and pinged ur router to compare. that should give a hint to what is going on.

I just moved rentals and brought  some tplink powerline adapters  Angry I am having similar problems with my pi's , waiting for network cable to be delivered now..

DO NOT use powerline adapters for mining. They work fine for weeks then go screwy at random.<< probably when the misses uses the washing machine  Grin

This sucks, Home Depot sucks, I suck! I just checked a piece of the cable that I have in the garage and it says cat 3! I didn't double check when I bought it, I just grabbed the first two off of the shelf. Now I have to run a whole new line! LAME!
I guess the problem cable is the untwisted ? and cat 3 ?

just interested

edit : from memory even the cheapest telephone cable is twisted pair
444  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TECHNOBIT's HEX16A in hand - first impressions / mining software on: January 24, 2014, 01:57:23 AM

Super,

Just an advise use latest cgminer 3.10.0 the patch is available on technobit site. You will do it like piece of cake. Apart of jokes 3.6.1 is buggy Smiley it is highly recommended to switch to latest

I could not see a download patch for 3.10.0, does the 3.6.1 patch work on 3.10 ?

not that it matters as am still waiting on boards, but nice to know should they ever turn up..
445  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: custom BFL firmware - tested 5-7GH pool meas. improvement on 60GH singles on: January 23, 2014, 09:44:49 AM

can you share the results?

Well my hash rate did increase, so did my hardware errors. Pool side was terrible so i flashed back only to be plagued with network issues that should be resolved tomorrow ( I hope ) I currently can not be sure what was going on as Eligius was having stats troubles at the time, my network switch has serious latancy issues and i have been switching between cg and bfg due instability.

May try again once all has settled down..

Let all face a bit of reality.

Marto please confirm that are boards have NOT been produced yet.

Please confirm to the best of your knowledge when you expect production to take place.

Please be honest..

451  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: T13hydra - Thread Locked, Unofficial Disscusion on: January 16, 2014, 08:23:45 AM
Not all batch1 addresses were processed. I was left out too... So list send to JohnK was incomplete or just intentionally wrong so he could bought KNC...
Have you brought this up with johnk, I no this is not his fault (he can only work on info given) but I would be curious to compare the refund list provided by Steve without going through all the transactions on the block chain.

Its not really my position to ask for it as am not owed.
452  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: January 16, 2014, 07:35:42 AM
Couple questions....

1)  Having trouble deciphering the new command line arguments to run the 8 boards with bfgminer, anyone know what they are/mean?

2)  How do I get the latest firmware and correct drivers to run the new bfgminer?  (on Win 7 64 bit .... I did look at the drillbit forums but they are not complete or I misunderstand a step or two in the process)

Thanks!

I haven't tried this yet but --- @drillbit forum

I just check the source and do some test:

To set voltage to all drillbits: --set-device DRB:voltage=0.95

To set external clock for a Thumb with serial 55667700: --set-device DRB@55667700:clock=245

To set internal clock for a Eight with serial 33445500: --set-device DRB@33445500:clock=L53:2

Specify above options in bfgminer.conf: "set-device" : [ "DRB:voltage=0.95", "DRB@55667700:clock=245", "DRB@33445500:clock=L53:2" ]

Also i paid 0.7BTC for shipping.
I have tried to contact Steve multiple times over the last few months.
I only got a reply the first time where he confirmed my request to refund my order.
The situation is unacceptable, the money for shipping could not have been used because there was nothing to send.
Also I thought he got the money from the refunded batch 1 order, so he could have just passed that to my address.
I still don't understand why John K didn't get that refunded batch 1 money, he ran the escrow!

But I feel apprehensive about committing to expensive legal action. That might cost me more than I can ever hope to get back from him.

As far as am aware JohnK processed the refunds for batch 1 as per the list provided by steve. So Either you were not on the list for batch 1 or a mistake was made.

Edit: Am a little confused.. I see you there on the batch 1 list for sure...However when I check your address on the block chain I see the transaction as 0.7BTC and thats the only TX that day. Did you use another address   Undecided

I just flashed my LS with a raspberry PI, if you have one of those to hand.  Wink

I flashed GenTarkin firmware, what firmware are you guys using. I have gained about 1.5G per unit but am still under the 30G spec, would be G8 to get them to 30G they are suppose to have been.  Angry
