I like Trump. Many people don't like him. But he won the previous election, no reason for him not to win this one now. The alternatives are worse.
Meritworthy, but out of merits unfortunately.

Makes no sense to me. You vote on a president or political party because it is the one that aligns most with your political view. You don’t vote on someone because it is the one that is likely going to win.
The last person I voted for got my vote because she liked driving miniature trains. Anyone who does that for a hobby is clearly qualified to meddle with my future. Depends on the scale, anything smaller than H0 and I cant see any details, so they are disqualified.

Talking about the government, they are making me get up early tomorrow, so I'll say good night now.

Been googling "government cheese" but can't find any. I found government detergent and soap and a shitload of other things, mainly from the era of the cold war, but no cheese. Disappointed.

Why are people stocking up on food anyway? this is not that kind of event. A solar storm or EMP that knocks out all electronics would be that kind of event.
It's not like the government would leave you to starve to death if you are quarantined, either the military would organize handing out of food or they would organize some kind of mobile groceries van or something like that. It would make sense to have food for a couple of days before everything gets organized, but that's all.
I mean if we can get food and water to people and areas that are totally snowed in in the winter, I think we can handle this.
What are you, some sort of socialist? No, but the government is.

yeah
I ain't waiting around for no goddamned government cheese
Can't recall ever having government cheese, nor ever having heard of it actually, would be a new thing to experience.

You trust the government? This government? Hm. Well, I agree that Löfven is the worst prime minister we ever had, but the bureaucracy and military is still working.

That’s really good, we can’t get anything from one particular area where our main Chinese factory is. Our fucking sales are 50% down in the last 2 months due to having to advertise alternative stuff. That sucks man.

Just texted with a friend, the groceries in Seattle got wiped out yesterday. Silly normals, why pay for food when you can just split the skulls of your neighbors and feast on the tasty goo inside?
There's some very weird stocking up going on in Malmö, all the canned meatballs in brown sauce and all the canned chili con carne is gone, but the canned ravioli is untouched. And basically everything else is also in normal stock. I asked when it will be back in stock and they said tomorrow, there is no shortage, deliveries come as usual. And if you go to Trelleborg instead there is no stocking going on at all.

Too far behind to even try to catch up, but I have a little something for you that might explain the rapid spread in Iran. Apparently it's a thing in Iran to lick sacred places and the government aren't shutting them down. Video: https://twitter.com/i/status/1233783635007954949

If we can get a vaccin by summer, as some companys hope, then we might achieve heard immunity before it spreads to every nook and cranny of the world, but I wouldn't bet on it.

nobody, anywhere, seems to be taking the situation seriously
Believe it or not, but china airways still have two flights a day to Stockholm. It's a pure miracle that the virus haven't spread here yet. And the Swedish CDC says that "it's not very likely that the virus will spread in Sweden". Yeah right.

Personal Income Tax Rates
Country | Tax Rate | Sweden | 57.20 | Japan | 55.95 | Denmark | 55.80 | Netherlands | 51.75 | Portugal | 48.00 | Australia | 45.00 | China | 45.00 | France | 45.00 | Germany | 45.00 | Greece | 45.00 | South Africa | 45.00 | Spain | 45.00 | United Kingdom | 45.00 | Italy | 43.00 | South Korea | 42.00 | Switzerland | 40.00 | United States | 37.00 | India | 35.88 | Argentina | 35.00 | Mexico | 35.00 | Turkey | 35.00 | Canada | 33.00 | Indonesia | 30.00 | Brazil | 27.50 | Singapore | 22.00 | Russia | 13.00 |
USA looks like a bargain compared to the others. The only dealbreaker is, you get taxed twice if your income is outside of the US. I don't know if there are other countries doing this. Let my clarify a bit. Income tax in Sweden is payed to the local council/county and it varies from place to place but usually hovers around 30%. However, if you make more than 50930 USD equivalent per year you also pay 20% state tax on the amount above 50930. where they get the 57,20% from I don't know.

I want to touch on supply chain disruption. That lunar new year holiday is a real thing. It is well known in the West that China basically shuts down for two weeks this time of year, so enterprises will have planned ahead and stocked up on critical parts ahead of time, therefore we will be somewhat insulated from supply chain shocks until (the end of the holiday + the proverbial slow boat shipping time). It is expensive to actually shutter and restart production lines so manufacturers will first slow production to husband rare parts while allowing employees to take elective time off and performing maintenance tasks on parts of their line.
However, over the next month or so, the boats will fail to arrive and the parts will run out.
something something
profit?
I was gonna order some new clasps for my online shop from China, answer? no can do. So they cant sell and /or ship and therefore have to close down the factory for the time being, and I cant sell in my online shop because I cant get any deliveries and the ships get less to ship. Where in this chain of events do you see any profit? And also, zweiundvierzig doesn't rhyme with blue.

I would very much like to see a comparison between Asians and non Asians in all respects.
In total to this day 1527 recorded deaths, and from this number 1523 in China. We have one victim in the following countries : Japan, Hong Kong, France, and Philippines. After China, the country with the most infected people is Japan (338) (but I think it's because of a cruiser anchored in one of their seaports). All statistics can be seen at this link : https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries That site doesn't distinguish between Asians and others as far as I can tell.
