This is just a suggestion. I think it's best to have someone else be the new face of Vootcoin. I will still be supporting Vootcoin but the announcement will not be under my name.  Also the twitter should be managed by the community representatives.

Vootcoin still have a bright future, looking at the features that we have planned for release.

So you're basically looking for someone to take over PR, which is fine. I highly recommend this because it will help alleviate some of the work for you, you won't have to worry about keeping the community up to date and just focus on development. I would love to volunteer for this if I meet the requirements.

+1 to this too.  XC has a PR and allowed the lead dev (Dan) to focus on just the development side of things.

I'm going to stick around, I just want to relax before posting about the ways we can move forward as a community.

That's the way to do it!   Don't let the trolls win.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VOOT] X11 VootCoin-Nitesend | Tor | Multi-Pool | Yahoo!Finance|CRYPTSY on: July 28, 2014, 02:09:35 AM
I apologize for the nightmare I might have cause the community. I had a breakdown due to yesterday fiasco
I 've been under pressured by not meeting the deadline and then I came online and see a big mess in the ann, I thought resigning and giving smoke the full control will minimize the damage but it worsen it.

I felt like none appreciated the effort i've been putting and I have invested a lot of my money to bring VOOT from 100 satoshis to 1k.

I'm truly sorry.

You do realize that there will ALWAYS be trolls on each thread.  ALWAYS.

People that really support the coin have questions that just wanted answer.   When you give in to the trolls, they win.   You must be able to separate the people that really care and people that are just here to troll.   If you take the trolls seriously, you are not only letting the trolls win, but you actually are giving up and letting the people that really supported the coin with their heart and btc down.

Why would you want to let the trolls win?

The reason why there is no one to be put in place is because we do not want others to look at the source code or handle it any capacity and the team is based on TRUST. How would the news be if source code was leaked and someone else picked it up? That would be 100x worse than a delay. If the code is not protected the community and the coin is not protected.

1. The release was supposed to be today, so there can't be more than a day or at most two days of work left?

2. So, is the delay now just to wait for the dev to be emotionally ok to continue to finish it?

3. IF there is more than a day or two of work left, the delay would have been known since last night then and why wasn't this delay possibility told to MsCollec?

Think you missed my post and went onto answer some lesser specific questions.

Now it all makes sense why the Smoke team avoided these questions.   The development was never near completion and the dev still wants to get paid?!??
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VOOT] X11 VootCoin-Nitesend | Tor | Multi-Pool | Yahoo!Finance|CRYPTSY on: July 28, 2014, 12:52:45 AM
This has nothing to do with IE. If anything IE took this coin to new heights and brought more exposure. This crash is all because of a lack of communicatin that MsCollec and the Smoke team had with the community in regards to the delay yesterday. Combine that with a sudden resignation because of a lack of commitment and an unwillingness to push through adversity, is why we got fucked.

It doesn't even make sense....

The dev was supposed to deliver yesterday.  Then his relative got sick and we find out a few hours before release?   And then the dev is not happy about giving up the codes and still wants to get paid?   I totally don't get what happened....

bunch of babies getting mad tonight because they didnt get rich today

relax and let the devs do their thing, fighting with them over if someone really had health issues isnt going to help. take a chill pill
+1

You do know the health issue isn't the dev, nor the dev's friend, but it's the dev's friend's friend right?

Also... in this scenario...

Can you imagine in the real world stock exchange?

One of the developers of the Google search engine have a friend that knows of a friend that has health issue.   GOOG stock drops 40% before the delay was announced.  News at 11.

How many insider trading investigation would have started?

People panic sell all the time and I have zero vootcoin. All my funds are on the anon exchange development.

I completely understand why some people would exit voot. We were promised a release date which hasn't been met, because of a single point failure. Is it not at least possible that we get an ETA?

I rather they don't give a new ETA until they are absolutely sure that they can meet that date.

Not saying it's you or anyone for that matter.   I am just saying if that happened in a normal stock exchange, that's what people would totally think.  It's just normal human psychology.

He/she sick / can't work / project can't continue. What we have here is a single point of failure. People have thousands of dollars on the line and we got a single point of failure.

It's amazing to see how people want devs to put their whole life to a stop.

No, but we absolutely do expect more notice.  This issue didn't arise right at the deadline, but no one bothered to share it with the community. I'm sorry, but that's simply unprofessional. Responsible devs inform the community as soon as the delay is known.

We'd also like some ETA on the project completion.

These are not unreasonable expectations and should not be painted as such.

I don't see where the mistake in stating that this is a single point failure.    It sure does feel like it's a single point failure and tazmania didn't say anything that the dev should work no matter what.

Also, who had the inside knowledge to pre-dump over 900k VOOT before the news of delay was released?

why x11 ?

All pools will be operated by us

Not good. U can have whatever u want on source and nobody know. Get trusted pool to host this. Look for supernova operator OCMiner. He is hosting for Revo and its working very well.

How do we know there won't be major phantom miners on the pool stealing shares if you are the only pool running AND it's closed source....?

Actually I have done it many times in real life.  Sadly, the people I know in real life don't have the alts that I need.  I have done the same deal many times in real life.

If I am to escrow the BTCs, then there's not much of a risk.  I don't need more than 2 BTCs worth, so whoever will be the first will be the only one to take advantage of my offer.  I have over 100 BTCs myself, I am sponsored by a well known Poker Site named Betfair and have over half a million in tournament winnings in poker (which isn't my bread and butter).   I have many well known friends in the poker community that would vouch for me (which are known world wide).

Let me get this straight...

1. You have over 100 btc.
2. You need 2 more btc
3. The 2 btc is GURANTEED to turn into 2.7 btc (35%)  0.7 btc profit.

Why in the world will you let us have this awesome opportunity if you can turn your 100 btc into 100.7 btc without us?

Hi,

I have been day trading alts since January and have made a bot to do all my work.  I am not really interested in investing in any new coins as I already have too much in alts at the moment and not trading some of the more popular is also wasted money.

This is what I am offering anyone interested.  If you loan me your coins (I only need about 1-2BTC worth) I will use them to trade and give you 35% of profits from the coins.  Yes I understand that there will be a lot of people saying that this is a scam and so on and so forth but I have a lot of backing.  In the poker community I have done hundred of thousands of dollars in transactions with a flawless record and am fairly well known.  I just do not wish to invest anymore BTCs in alts that I do not know enough about.  I have also borrowed with interest (and paid back fully) about 100 BTCs for trading purposes when the volume was about 20x what it is now.

If anyone is interested please PM me, the three coins I currently am not trading that I would be looking for are the following:

CLOAK
XMR
SYNC

So please PM me if interested, if you post in this coin thread I may miss your post.

  Thanks

First of all, Wierd.  Second, so if you lose my money I am just shit out of luck?  But if you make money I only get 35%?  No thanks.   I think any smart trader l, or person would just invest the BTC themselves and then keep 100% of the profits.  Sorry but GTFO

I'm Afraid he's right...

Sounds like a Nigerian Crypto Prince....

Is there anything more that needs to be said about Jasin's ASIC business?

- These projects operate completely independently of each other, thus XC isn't affected by the ASIC developer who ran off.

- Jasin is a businessman with several ventures, which is entirely the norm. It's not reasonable to assume he was diluting his energies by getting involved in other projects.

- If you read the Litcoin thread, you'll see that Jasin's reason for not disclosing information to you earlier is that he did not want to spook the developer before he could get the funds back from him.

- Jasin has been frank, apologetic, and has remained in communication on the Litecoin thread.

- Jasin's reputation incentivises him to defend it and make amends.

So in my opinion the ASIC situation is unfortunate, but does not impinge on Jasin's character.

If you think that this closes the issue, then quote it to whoever keeps talking about it.

Nicely said.   I really don't know what they want to achieve in the XC thread by bringing it up.
