1601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Ixcoin fork -> I0coin on: May 15, 2012, 06:23:36 PM
YES!  Grin
my i0coin logos are being used as the icon of the client now!
Waited for so long, and now its arrived.

Hopefully it gets put to good use as now it represents i0coin currency!

I'm sorry but a logo will not make a crypto currency a success.

Also keep in mind that the proof of work for I0coin is the same as Bitcoin's, hence it can be merge mined.

This means that for free anyone who is mining bitcoins can create I0coins for FREE....ultimately making them worthless in the scheme of things because as a miner it is a free bi-product and who wouldn't want to sell the free bi-product if it cost them NOTHING to create.

Just my two crypto-currency cents.... Grin Grin Grin
1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ł as the litecoin "symbol"? on: May 14, 2012, 11:53:41 PM

It's nice to know that even casascius doesn't view litecoins as a hostile cryptocurrency and is open-minded to the idea of an alt-chain, unlike SC/MC which the entire community has a consensus that it is a scam.

That's because it is.  LTC has the source code available.  That makes a huge difference.

1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Microcash is a SCAM! on: May 14, 2012, 07:47:12 PM
are we googlebombing microcash is a scam?

Googlebombing is such ineloquent term, we're merely enhacing Google's search results for Microcash is a Scam, that's all.

Yup just like my subject line above!
1604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Microcash a scam? on: May 14, 2012, 07:46:10 PM
Microcash is scam because it not store of value. Best to put money in bank with 0.25% annual interest or under mattress than put in Microcash.

With Microcash daily account fee you lose money every day.

Agreed. Microcash is designed to steal your value of your investment over time, just like Fiat!
1605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ł as the litecoin "symbol"? on: May 14, 2012, 07:38:35 PM
I think for both Bitcoin and Litecoin the official versions should have two strokes, but until we get our own Unicode characters, the Baht and the Polish Ł can do for now.

I split this off to discuss the moderation I did so that I won't have to continually delete posts asking what happened to 9 pages of the thread.

I felt a great disturbance in the forums, as if millions of posts cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.   Grin

/approve.

LOL well I did my part in making sure people know that that S.H.I.T. coin is shit.
1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Microcash a scam? on: May 12, 2012, 12:56:52 AM
I can see the spit coming out of k9quaint's mouth sticking to the screen of his computer...

Morons...

Right now, you are looking at your screen. The spit you are seeing is probably not mine.

LOL. Keep spiting out of rage, little man!

And here we have the third puppet demonstrating The Joint's assertion:
"When you ask them specific questions about the technical aspects of Solidcoin/Microcash, they respond not with an answer, but rather by 1) insulting you or 2) insulting Bitcoin.  "

When we use logic and facts, the SoiledCoin sockpuppets respond with insults.
Enjoy your secondthird failed block-chain.
I will look forwardback  to May 10th when SoiledCoin promised to release their greatest creation...

FIXED FOR YOU =)

Curious why this has been move to "meta"....lol seems counter productive to the whole "SC/MC taking over the world" scheme.

The SolidCoin Saga must be the longest running troll in history.

So that is a firm yes, you are going to offer merged mining for Microcash?  Grin

In terms of if LTC will be a success or not I wouldn't count LTC out yet. When bitcoin was 7 months old there was little discussion and support for bitcoin as well.

Perhaps we all can see where LTC is in say 3 years.

1616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Microcash.org says "Solidcoin" on: May 02, 2012, 12:03:11 AM
So the more MicroCash you have the higher the percentage of the fees you get. It doesn't necessarily reward early adopters, it rewards people who have MicroCash.
MicroCash: Taking from the poor and giving to the rich.
Interesting.

If I understand correctly, if an address has a greater-than-average amount of currency then it will get interest.

Paid for by all the accounts with a less-than-average amount of currency.

So there's an incentive for everybody to (try to) be above the average. That seems like a recipe for a lot of disappointed people, especially since a graph of size-of-account will have a long tail with of lots of little accounts.

Making a half-thought-out-prediction, I'd say the end result would likely be one big centralized account controlled by the largest exchange with over 50% of the currency in it, because there would be a natural incentive to store your money in the biggest account so you get the most interest...

Yeah and thus making this whole principle worthless if everyone puts their MC "investment" into one exchange because then there will be no interest because there will likely be only one account.

Yes, there is to early adopters, and that is block reward halving much quicker.

Broseph, try to stay relevant. Block speed has nothing to do with block reward, and litecoin is designed to halve the reward at the same ~4yr pace as bitcoin.

Litecoin's reward halves at 200k blocks.

edit: Okay, maybe if Cosbycoin's confirmed it that isn't true.  I had thought coblee didn't change it, but I must be mistaken.

Just read the OP: "Litecoin generation will be halved every 840,000 blocks."
1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: May 01, 2012, 09:16:00 PM
I scanned the thread and there is nothing enlightening in it in regards to faster blocks, mostly just you going off about how the world is out to get you and can't understand how great your idea is.

There is no massive downside to 10 minute blocks; there is no massive upside to 2 or 2.5 minute blocks.

Yes, there is to early adopters, and that is block reward halving much quicker.

How is it any quicker? The amount of blocks that need to be produced before LTC block reward halves is 210k x 4 = 810,000 blocks.

I guess as both networks mature more these things will become more apparent.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Milestone: BitInstant surpasses $1,000,000 in monthly transfers on: May 01, 2012, 08:58:47 PM
That's a pretty hefty growth. Can you reveal any other statistics, like how much is deposits and how much is transfers, or how many different people have used you for depositing?

Good Job!
