1861  Economy / Economics / Re: Some quick math for fun: what if the total value of Bitcoin reaches X? on: March 07, 2012, 02:43:29 AM
X=$52,500
each BTC will worth $0.0025

Laszlo's payment of 10,000 BTC for a pizza will turn out to have been about right.

Where is this event documented when it happened?

That's still one expensive pizza today. >$50k  Shocked
1862  Economy / Economics / Re: Prices Cannot Stabilize on: March 07, 2012, 02:30:23 AM
The supply of coins grows at the same rate regardless of demand. Stability requires a flexible supply increase to correspond with demand increase. This limitation will be an impediment to the growth of Bitcoin commerce.

In 9 months that rate will drop by 50%....despite demand. I think there wasn't supposed to be a correlation between the two given that Satoshi made the model of coin distribution from day 1.
1863  Economy / Economics / Re: Price vs Difficulty Charts - indicators for buying or mining on: March 07, 2012, 02:28:43 AM
Perhaps an updated chart from the OP for current price and difficulty?

Thanks in advance! Cheesy

The new IXCoin Exchange run by DoubleC at Bitparking has over 385,000 in volume and over 300 BTC traded today.

The also have a pool with 32GH/s.

Looks like IXC is here to stay.

I guess Ixcoin wasn't really here to stay eh BCX?

1865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Open Discussion] Centralized Bitcoin Services at Mt. Gox on: March 07, 2012, 01:53:40 AM
Is this an anti-MtGox thread?
Like a protest? Smiley
Then I'd rather take no side - just my own.
The truth is, they are winning the market, because so far there have been the smartest one in this game.
If you were smarter - you could have beaten them.
Obviously none of you was - sorry Smiley

Obviously you missed the point of this thread. The point was to provide discussion of the issue of CENTRALIZATION of bitcoin services.

Moreso this has nothing to do with how smart one is or isn't. By your post above you are showing us that you're more likely not smart given you couldn't read the original post.

Your input is still welcome.  Grin
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [Open Discussion] Centralized Bitcoin Services at Mt. Gox on: March 06, 2012, 09:10:38 PM
This thread's purpose is to discuss the issues that reside with Mt. Gox being 95% of the entire volume of BTC traded as well as possibly a large portion of merchant solution services.

This in my opinion can be bad for bitcoin if Mt. Gox were ever shutdown in its corporate structure (if it has one).

Centralization of services for bitcoin is not a good thing. It gives less options to choose.

Anyways...just by 0.02 BTC...
1867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins are not, in practice, fungible on: March 03, 2012, 02:39:52 AM
Well it won't stop the bit coin network from transacting in those coins (and ultimately laundering them) unless there's a change in the software to create some sort of address blacklist.  The worrying aspect is MtGox deciding to act as a policeman.  If they are going to do that I think they should make it quite clear.

Agreed. Stolen coins are stolen coins. If someone was dumb enough to get them stolen then they should be stolen.

In slush's case I can understand it wasn't his fault so then those are coins Mt. Gox should be trying to protect from being exchanged.
1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many premined coins would YOU like to see in SC 3.0? on: March 02, 2012, 12:43:54 AM
Sup bitches.

By now I've grown weary of dealing with the peasant nodes. Filthy miners only complicate things, take a look at Deepbit for example. So with SC 3.0 I want to pioneer a 100% decentralized currency (unlike the fiat Bitcoin), so I've decided that I will eliminate peasant nodes completely with a new system which will revolutionize the cryptocurrency world.

The design and architecture I've put into 3.0 will only have two groups of 10 (an ode to binary, which I helped co-write) gate-nodes which will take turn solving even/odd blocks. Each wallet will contain the premine which I am looking for my communities input on, so you have a voice in SC 3.0 (unlike King Gavin and Queen Deepbit).

Luckily I've found a way to reimburse SC 2.0 coin holders for approximately 1/2 of their *Loyalty Rating (the formula is confidential and is proprietary property), so all you have to do is submit an application and the Account Reconciliation team and we'll be sure to process your Loyalty Rating in 4-6 weeks of submission.

I also realized that the bloated blockchain (smart move, bitcoin) is only weighing down my innovation.  That being said, there will only be 3 addresses available (outside the 20 premined wallets, which YOU get to choose the premine!), of which I will possess.  If you'd like to spend your SC 3.0 *coins, submit an application to the Account Reconciliation team who will then deduct the invert of your Loyalty Rating from your account, purchase the product and send it to your door! First-Class™ service, courtesy of SC 3.0!

So how much should each wallet contain?  13 million?  39 million?  Be sure to rock the vote on SC 3.0 and good luck to everyone with their Loyalty Rating applications!

Bwaahahahahahaha!

I spoke to realsolid on IRC and he confirmed this "RealSolid" account here isn't his. So perhaps the mods should ban the troll.

Listen subordinate,

I'm not sure who you talked to and with the amount you run your mouth I'm not sure why I even let you remain on the project, but if you ever talk back to me again I'll make sure it's the last time you do it while associated with me.

Understand, boy?

LOL this is the best entertainment Bitcoins can buy!

1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARE YOU MINING GG? on: September 19, 2011, 03:46:33 AM
Wow I finally got GG coins, 7 of them, but why is it when I key in getinfo it gives me a balance of zero?

Your block of 7 needs 100 confirmations I think in order for them to "generate".

How many confirmations does it have?
1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARE YOU MINING GG? on: September 19, 2011, 03:29:55 AM
Yeap I suspect my firewall in the previous computer, it is working perfectly in this current computer, just wondering when can I get that elusive GG Coin?  BTW what is the command to key in to know if I have netted one or not?

I finally got it running at 166MHash/s wonder how long estd does it take to generate a coin at this rate?  Wow, your coin is the hardest to setup.  I think some ports need to be open.

I didnt have a problem. Many others also did not have problems. It could be your setup or your router.
geistd.exe getbalance OR geistd.exe listtransactions

CP?

It depends of where you're from; if you're portuguese it means trains, as that's their initials... if you're not, than it's probably about child porn.

And I thought it meant "can't pee".
1877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A warning about Solidcoin for newer users [UPDATED] on: September 19, 2011, 02:58:12 AM
tl;dr

But still;

When Zen Cart forked osCommerce they didn't come out spreading FUD about the project they forked.
When Joomla forked Mambo they didn't come out spreading FUD about the project they forked.
When SMF forked phpBB they didn't come out spreading FUD about the project they forked.
When IXCoin forked Bitcoin they didn't come out spreading FUD about the project they forked.
(...)
It's nearly a constant on all Open Source world, eventually a project gets forked, a new line of COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT (THAT is the use of Open Source, not a f**ing vanity fair)

When Cracked/ScamCoin came out its sole forker hop into others' work (Bitcoin), that's ok so far, but promptly started a DEFAMATION and an attempt to spread FUD about it, promising to be "fixing bugs" whereas was opening holes.
I guess this already reached rock bottom, so there's no need to keep digging.

Now go get your "FUD spread bounty", make sure you get paid in scamcoins 2.0, looks like scamcoins 1.x are worthless now.

+1

Which leads me back to my original question, why are people heavily invested in Bitcoin so afraid of Solidcoin?

Because Solidcoin is a scam.

Try to keep up  Grin

Edit: No, really though.  When CH crossed the line about framing others with CP if they disagreed with them, it's a little more than 'Oh SC haters are trolls'.

CP?
