1161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I invest (safely) in Bitcoin for the long term? on: September 03, 2017, 07:32:12 PM

One more from me, to invest in bitcoins for long term, you can make investment in bitcoins weekly, monthly from your income. This strategy will help you to increase your bitcoins, i adopt concept of saving in strategy investing in bitcoins, we can do it continuous every day, weeks or monthly although just a little amount of bitcoins, It will work if you are dicipline the bitcoins will be more rise in the future. Good luck

OP here.

This strategy has the flaw that in a rising market, your average buy price gets higher and higher and more susceptible to any fall in the price.

It is never suggested to invest into bitcoins on weekly or monthly basis because the price keeps changing and in the current scenario where prices are increasing day by day, quite foolish it is to invest into bitcoins on weekly basis. For long term, the best thing is to grab bitcoins when there is dumping phase.
1162  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do I hold? on: September 03, 2017, 06:53:59 PM
I am assuming that you have invested based on your research and if that is the case then you should hold it for some more time. Ultimately it depends on your risk profile that up to what extent, you are ready to bear the loss.

I remember a few years ago, I made an investment in one alt-coin and within a week I was in 35% loss but as the amount was low and there was a research behind that investment decision, I decided to hold it. Then in few days, I not only covered the loss but also made 10%+ profit without changing anything in that investment. However, each case is different and should be assessed with a different approach.
I always suggest holding coins when they are in dumping phases because it is pretty obvious in the crypto market trend that the dumps are followed by pumps. I will also recommend him holding his coins in wallet and forget them for some time. This will help him to stay calm and ultimately he will end up with profit.

It happens from time to time, especially when your downloading all these new wallets for all these new coins. You really should have a completely Separate PC for operating these wallets. Most of this new software at a lot of these new while it's going to have a virus it up you won't even notice it for a couple of days until somebody grabs up your password for one of the exchanges or another website.
1164  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What would you like to buy? on: September 02, 2017, 11:17:06 AM
Can we buy happiness with Bitcoin? Because the only thing I need for a long time is happiness. It would be very nice if something like this happened.

People think everything in this century consists of material. But I do not think so and I want to be happy with small things, but I am not happy.
You can buy things that will make you happy, just choose what things that will make you happy then. Life is too short to limit your happiness, now we have the chance to grab our happiness using btc. Anyway mate just buy some stuff that will make you smile, that's all.
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptos to buy now ? on: September 02, 2017, 10:36:09 AM
Hi All,

I know the market may be at its peak currently. Any recommendations on which crypto currency is untapped and can be invested at the moment and why ? I usually look for promoters and reasons on why a crypto or blockchain will do well in long or short term.

I bought some BCH but sold it since the prediction seems to be it will go down to $100.

I bought some ripples and ethereum.

Which website or resources or commentary can be trusted when speculating or going for short term trading ?

Any inputs from the experienced brains will be appreciated.

Thanks,
There are lots of cryptos right now that anyone can invest in effortlessly, but the $1 Million question has been that Which crypto is worth buying presently? There are lots and lots of cryptos springing up daily and all I can say is that the oldest should be the best in this game of investments.
1166  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is more profitable: a gambling site or a dating site? on: September 02, 2017, 08:41:24 AM
Today a question came to my mind that which site will be more profitable a gambling site or a dating site? Actually I want to find out that in which place people are more interested and where people mostly want to go to get fun.
This is ridiculous but it has to be said, you shouldn’t invest in a business of the profit or the viability, what
should come before that should be your passion for the business and not for the business and not just the monetary gains involved
1167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why compare BTC to USD? on: September 02, 2017, 08:08:09 AM
When people talk about Bitcoin price, they usually refer to its price expressed in dollars. I really don't understand why...

US Dollar is going down in price, US economy is collapsing. There are many other countries which has more Bitcoin users, like Russia, China, Japan, Philippines and the whole Eurozone. Even ICOs are forbidden in the USA. It's not a so Bitcoin-friendly country, its national currency is not so strong. So why price Bitcoin in $?

There could be many other more appropriate currencies like EUR, CNY or RUB...
As far as I know, bitcoin is well known and most trusted fiat all over the world and it is more use to trade worldwide, so bitcoin is most converted in usd before local currency, but actually there is nothing to do with that.
1168  Economy / Economics / Re: how can bitcoin help the community? on: September 01, 2017, 10:28:45 AM
Bitcoin will help many residents improve their financial situation and save them from having to make big purchases in cash. This is the currency of the future which will make the world much more convenient.
Bitcoin can also help people by allowing them to offer their products and services for bitcoin to the world without having to open a bank account, for many people in the third world it is impossible to open an account in a bank but they can create a bitcoin wallet at no cost.
Rightly said. Bitcoin wallet is one of the greatest facility which Bitcoin is providing. Bitcoin can help the community in much better way than it is helping the community now, if Bitcoin is accepted globally. If Bitcoin can manage to do so, then it can help us out in much convenient way.
1169  Economy / Economics / Re: If you have a lot of bitcoin, should you spend it or save it? on: September 01, 2017, 09:57:08 AM
For me, saving is the best choice. because I myself have a dream. if someday fulfilled I want to go to Mecca to fulfill obligation as an ummah of Islam. and I'm sure the money from these bitcoins will be more useful if used for good.
I must appreciate what you think. Saving the Bitcoin is what advised by almost everyone, the one who knows the worth of Bitcoins. You can earn a handsome amount by selling the Bitcoins as well but keeping them can give you much more.

Hello!
Do you have a bounty thread? Huh
You are late for the party man, but not too late either. The Signature campaign is still running, see if you can get a slot. If you can invest some ether in the ICO the returns will be more worthy than any bounty, I can bet.

Is there any translation bounty for this coin ?
If so I can Indian translation for you. Please keep in mind that signature campaigns and other campaigns help a lot, maybe start a bounty campaign and hire Yahoo as the manager. Just my 2 cents.

When is the sale and what is the exchange rate per eth?
I am also curious on these information. But I guess we need to wait until devs to confirm the start of ICO and you can get some discount rates in initial days of ICO so there cannot be any fixed rates per eth, hopefully.

1175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading sucks, I'll just hold my coins on: August 21, 2017, 03:32:17 PM
Yesterday I just lost 1.8k USD, maybe in USA or in West Europe that's doesn't much, but here in my shitty country that's a f* big amount of money. Here the minimum wage is ~ 300 USD / month. So that's like 6 month of work if I cut my bread and water and live on air. Half of my saving were other investments, but anyways... I'm feeling shitty right now. Oh, and I break my laptop. So yeah, that's another - 500 usd.

I though I can trade. Buy low, sell high. Sounds good, doesn't work.

Looking at the charts and candle sticks and watching old bitcoin values, and huge spikes (pump, I saw here how people uses the pump word, daaaamn...) I was... yeah, I can totally do that. I'll just buy when it's low, and sell it when it reaches the top. Well, I was wrong. You can't see the future, otherwise everyone would be a millionaire. That would be true if you would have a delorean from '85 with Emmett Brown and Marty Mcfly and you could f* travel in future and see the PUMPS!!!1

So anyone who will read this message (noobs like me) if you don't have any trading experience, don't do it. There are expert traders who know how this market works, when to buy and when to sell. Don't assume your skills by watching youtube videos and reading "daily indexes and predictions" of how the price will rise or go down by shitty sites. That's just dumb. You don't know what's gonna happen. Maybe a little bit of luck, or I don't know.

So yeah, from now on, I'll just leave the trading area for experts and I will invest in bitcoin by buying every 2 week or monthly and saving into my wallet. And one day (I hope so) the price will rise and I will buy for my self a delorean.

Cheers!

Hey man, which country are you at? I don't think there is anywhere much shittier than where I am right now. But anyway, If you are a newbie you should really avoid trading bitcoins or altcoins... 1.8k USD is a lot, you could have been rich now if you have bought BTC before the fork and then converted all your assets into Bitcoin Cash yesterday before it was pumped.

For people like us, we should really stick to that "buy and HODL" system, specially if you have a day job and you cannot afford to be a fulltime trader.

By the way, amigo... try lending your bitcoins in poloniex or bitfinex. A profit of 0.02% every 2 days is not too bad at all. Cheers!
Yes, there is nothing to be worried about. It is not an end of trading. Even if you don’t have day job, still I will recommend holding bitcoins and trading with altcoins. I never prefer trading with bitcoins since they are very expensive and losing them by one wrong decision can out you into big problem.
1176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What does it mean to invest in bitcoin? on: August 21, 2017, 03:01:19 PM
In order to answer this question the first thing you need to answer is what do you mean when you say you want to invest in Bitcoin. Do you want to buy the currency in hopes it will appreciate it value? Do you want to invest in Bitcoin related companies? Are you looking to day trade with Bitcoins?
I bought bitcoin for the purpose of investing and hope the bitcoin price will increase in the future. I want to take this opportunity as best as possible because of the rising bitcoin price trend. I prefer to trade than just save bitcoin, because by trading then I can get a chance to make a profit. But some of the funds that I have I save and do holding, this to keep if one day I was not lucky and this fund can I use to start my investment.
It is always wise to have funds as savings because you never know when a misfortune is going to hit you. It is quite courageous if you do trading that too with expensive coin like bitcoins when we all know that trading could be risky. I will suggest you not to trade much with bitcoins, altcoins are good for trading.
1177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which sources do you use in order to make a trading decision? and why? on: August 21, 2017, 02:02:10 PM
I mainly use reddit and twitter for news sources, coinmarketcap for statistics and coinigy/tradingview for charts and TA. But I'm rather new to this area so I'm still learning.
If you are new but still know about all these, this means you have good knowledge of crypto market and I can see you will perform better than many other old investors who lack knowledge. It is good to use all these famous sources to back up your decisions with logics rather than mere guesses and emotions.
1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: August 21, 2017, 10:10:54 AM
It is not just gambling but everything of which someone is addicted, is not easy to give up. You are the person who can help you at first, you need to make yourself assure that what were you doing till now was wrong and is bad in all perspectives then seek external help. It needs strong will and clear vision driven by inner will and you can get rid of gambling addiction over the time.

Sometime it is not easy to change yourself. You also need some support to empower yourself to overcome all sort of difficulties. But of course, the first and most important is that you must take the first step and willing to put in effort to change, then the other support will be useful to help you to change.
Once a person has made his mind to accomplish something, he becomes unstoppable then. Gambling addicts face a lot of difficulties when it comes down to quitting. Even they are aware of their present situation and want to get out of it most of them still keep on gambling.

Specially if the person has got no other source of earning then gambling is the only way for them to make a living. It is sad but true that many people have not got qualifications to get a proper job with which they can earn money and thus they join a casino. For them getting addicted is natural and its not possible to stop them. Even if they do find a job later on its tough for them to get rid of old habits.
That's the thing about earning money, it shouldn't be as risky as gambling. It should be a sure thing whether you have made a business or working as an employee, it's still a better source of money. Just like you said, they can gamble all they want as long as they have money. Stopping addiction is really hard, no one could really help you with that but yourself.
Gambling cannot be considered as an earning mean. It can be done for fun with only affordable loss of money.  All addicts have not that strong will power or determination that can help them to overcome addiction by themselves. Some really need attention from others, especially the closer ones with whom they share everything.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: can gambling give you lessons in life? on: August 21, 2017, 08:41:27 AM
Gambling might have disadvantages but it also have advatages. Gambling can teach you how to manage your money, patience and improve your sens about loosing or winning; you will know when it's the right time to make your move.
The most important lesson we have to do is how we manage our money. How do we think about risks that could happen in the future, because gambling is full of risks.
Money is the main use in gambling but the people who take risk at start to double his money and when they finally lost its either they realized or learn something or nothing. What the most important lesson that we can gain ingambling is our attitude and mindset on the things that we are risking.
Gambling involves risk, money, luck, greed and change at the same time. If somebody cannot learn a lesson out of it, then he must be either too dumb or too careless. I think if a person has even a few brain cells, he can learn a lot from his failures and victory also. It can change one's attitude for lifetime.
1180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst mistake in gambling on: August 21, 2017, 07:30:19 AM
Gambling i consider money i will loose. I never gamble with money i need.

Short but right nevertheless. Gambling with money you can't afford to lose could be the worst mistake you can make in gambling. If you bet and you lose the bet it's okay as long as you don't lose big money for you. You play the game, you enjoy it and no one suffers from that, neither you nor your family or your loved ones.
No matters how hard we try to look from outside, still deep inside we wish that we didn't lose our money. I think, trying again and again when you have no gambling charm is far fatal than this. In the former case, it is confirmed that you were an addict and now a beggar also. Very few can recover from such situation.
